Maison Tahité Arabican Rose (Marie Duchêne) 2024  + coffee-liscious giveaway

Arabican Rose, Maison Tahité

Maison Tahité first explored the richness and complexity of vanilla in their debut collection, then delighted gourmand lovers with their indulgent cocoa line, followed by a coffee-licious collection inspired by the many facets of the most beloved drink. Last year, I reviewed Ristretto, a short, dark, strong, and intense fragrance; indulged my sweet tooth with Café Gourmand, a creamy, dense hazelnut coffee; savored Velvet Coffee, a gourmand blend of milky cardamom coffee; and was completely blown away by the magic potion crafted by Arturetto Landi: Coffee Bomb. Naturally, when I discovered there was a new coffee scent in the lineup, I couldn’t wait to try it – especially since it features my favorite flower, the rose, combined with the most prized and refined of coffee beans: Arabica.

Countless studies have highlighted the health benefits of drinking coffee, but research is also expanding into the impact of its aroma alone. The mere scent of coffee has been found to produce effects similar to those experienced from sipping the brew itself with the rich, full-bodied fragrance of coffee not only stimulating the senses but also awakening the mind, providing a mental boost that invigorates and sharpens focus. Beyond its energizing qualities, the smell of coffee is deeply nostalgic, often evoking memories of comfort and warmth – whether it’s a quiet morning ritual or a cozy afternoon shared with loved ones and its familiar scent has the remarkable ability to create a calming atmosphere, helping to reduce stress and alleviate anxiety.

As a lover of everything coffee-related, I have searched and worn many fragrances centered on this miraculous ingredient. In my top of coffee-licious scents, the first that come to my mind are Akro Awake with its gourmand-ish take on a cup of heavenly dark coffee, Kerosene Follow that feels like submerging your soul into a bag of freshly roasted Arabica, DSH Cafe Noire with its rich and warm eyes half closed seductive gaze, the mystical Xerjoff’s Golden Dallah or the light-hearted Terra Mia from Carthusia.  And as an insomniac who adores coffee but limits it to mornings only, the idea of a new coffee fragrance that delivers the same invigorating effect without the caffeine? And with roses on top? Do count me in!

This is the first fragrance I’ve encountered that focuses on the distinct Arabica bean variety. Arabica, known for its delicate, smooth, and nuanced profile, stands in contrast to the bolder, earthier, and more robust character of Robusta. Where Robusta hits with intensity and power, Arabica seduces with its refined, floral undertones and soft, almost silky warmth.

Maison Tahité Arabican Rose is a walk in an  Eastern garden where dark roses bloom under moonlit skies – magic, mysterious, and filled with stories that wait to be told. The rose is present from the first sniff, with its most bright facets turned towards the light – powdery and round with the sweetness of almonds and flickering with juicy bright red raspberries. As the scent unfolds, the smell of roasted coffee mingles with the rose, with earthy patchouli and the sweetness of vanilla closing in the chapter of 1001 nights.

I knew I was going to enjoy Maison Tahité Arabican Rose, but I didn’t expect to fall in love with it as much as I did. It checks more boxes than I imagined on the Venn diagram of what makes the perfect scent for a crisp winter day. It’s dark, it’s mysterious, and it’s built around the best kind of rose- the thorny, unapologetic one. The patchouli brings that vampiric earthiness I crave, grounding the scent with a seductive, almost brooding depth.

I, too, have a coffee addiction like Nicoleta and crave gourmands/coffee scents. Another fragrance I’d add to the list that encompasses a true coffee-like scent but more on the gourmand side is Amore Caffé by Mancera, what a fragrance! But this Arabican Rose scent by Maison Tahité does sound innovative. Yes, many coffee scents exist but none focused primarily on this variety of bean. Also the sandalwood and patchouli should add a long lasting aspect to it, I’m loving everything I see. I’m located in the USA.

  • I have tried 2 different fragrances with the coffee note: Intense cafe and Amen. This one looks quite promising with the fruitiness and rosy tinges to the coffee with the almonds. This one seems like there would be a stronger coffee note in it than the other 2 I have tried. Though I like IC, it was more like intense rose. Jammy rose with vanilla and instant maxwell french vanilla coffee powder(tastes good btw). A*men is really complex to pick out the coffee in it.

  • ☕️ Nicoleta’s description made me feel like I could actually smell the contrast between the delicate velvet rose and the deep, cozy aroma of roasted coffee beans. The almond and raspberry opening sounds like something incredibly bright, but with a dark, mysterious depth from the patchouli and sandalwood. The idea of using Arabica coffee, with its soft and floral notes, instead of the bolder Robusta is brilliant.

The image of a ‘moonlit garden with dark roses’ is just captivating. Nicoleta mentions this fragrance being perfect for a winter day, but I feel like it would also be amazing for late evenings. It sounds like this scent is a book you’d want to read over and over again!

  • The description of dark, mysterious and vampiric caught my attention. I do enjoy these type of rose fragrances, especially during the gloomy days of winter. Thanks for another fabulous review and draw. MI USA

I’m not sure that I have a coffee fragrance fascination, yet, but wouldn’t it be wonderful if I could use coffee scents to satiate me as I transition over to only drinking tea? All of the fragrances you mentioned sound as if they’d do the trick, and have the added bonus of attracting others, particularly my wife! Thank you so much for this thoughtful review, Nicoleta, and I live in NYC/USA.

This sounds amazing! I love Nicoleta’s description that it is dark and mysterious! That’s my planned vibe this winter. I live in MA, USA

  • I love the smell of coffee but don’t drink it. Thanks for a run down of the difference between Arabica and the others. I bought Vicious Cacoa and it’s amazing bought at luckyscent.

  • The combination of coffee and rose is quite unusual and captivating. The fragrance features a strong coffee note, which is described as intense and black, paired with a distinct rose scent. This blend for sure creates a unique and memorable olfactory experience. I live in Trzebnica, Poland, EU.

  • This sounds like a rose I could wear! I love the smell of roses, but I don’t like the smell of roses in perfume on me, as it always somehow ends up feeling old fashioned and stodgy. This sounds like it has bite, bottom and tons of personality! I live in the US.

  • Roberto Cifarelli says:

Arabican Rose by Maison Tahite is a balanced and intriguing perfume, combining elegance and character in an original way. I have tried a perfume with coffee notes very few times, but I really love rose in perfumes. I hope to try this fragrance. Thank you. I live in Italy, EU

This caught my attention: “The mere scent of coffee has been found to produce effects similar to those experienced from sipping the brew itself.”

I love the note of coffee but on the fence when it comes to rose. The notes in this fragrance sound amazing and if it’s blended well, can’t see how I wouldn’t enjoy this one.

  • I need this perfume. I have been building a coffee collection as it is my favorite scent in the world. Montale’s Intense Cafe was way too much sticky sweetness for me, but thorny, broody rose coffee scent sounds right up my alley. Crossing my fingers in Honolulu, HI.

  • Wow! What a fantastic review. I honestly do not think I have tried any coffee scents and I am fascinated by the idea of coffee and rose. I love a gourmand rose combination. This one sounds so unexpected but I think that Maison Tahite could pull it off. I love that coffee beans and rose generally associated with such different emotions – one energizing – one more romantic and soothing. The combination sounds intriguing. Thanks for the draw. I live in the US.

  • Jist like Nicoleta, I’m a lover of everything coffee-related!

What sparked my interest the most is this description of the perfume: “Maison Tahité Arabican Rose is a walk in an Eastern garden where dark roses bloom under moonlit skies – magic, mysterious, and filled with stories that wait to be told. • As a huge fan of a classic rose and patchouli combo, this one has caught my attention. Fueling my curiosity even more is the fact that I just recently tried my first Maison Tahite fragrance, Vanille de Minuit, and it absolutely swept me off of my feet. I am quite familiar with their sister house, Laboratorio Olfattivo, so I knew the quality would be great, yet it still surpassed my every expectation. I can only imagine what wonders lay in wait within Arabican Rose. Nicoleta spoke of it being a thorny, dark, and shadowy rose – the very best kind if you ask me – so my heart is already aflutter. I imagine the raspberry and rich coffee tones will work wonders highlighting the light and dark aspects of the florals. Sounds like a true winner. Best of luck to everyone. I live in NC, USA.

I just love coffee, both in terms of taste and scent, and I associate it with comfortness mostly but also I like to feel from it refreshed and focused. From Nicoleta’s description, Maison Tahité Arabican Rose sounds a very seductive and playful coffee scent, which goes on my must-try list for sure and the fact that has this deep, jammy rose make this to be more wonderful and attractive one. I love the fact that has this dark mysterious vampiric aspects on it from patchouli and a playful opening by the raspberry and almonds, a scent with an interesting character that I would love to explore its essence.
Absolutely adore this review and I’m thankful for your giveaway.

I can almost taste this perfume, thanks to Nicoleta’s introduction. The playful opening seems like a lovely invitation urging you on into a deep and somewhat dark fragrance. Then the rose in the center sounds bright and alluring, creating balance. The base notes listed in this coffee scent seems to me one which will add longevity and grounding. I can’t wait to sniff this one out, it sounds both delicious and beautiful. I live in Oregon. Here’s to more coffee in 2025!

  • Svetlanafrance says:

Nicoleta’s review beautifully captures the allure of Arabican Rose, and I’m especially intrigued by the interplay between the refined Arabica coffee and the dark, mysterious rose. The idea of experiencing the brightness of almond and raspberry juxtaposed with the brooding depth of patchouli and coffee sounds absolutely enchanting. I love how this fragrance seems to tell a story of contrasts—light and shadow, sweetness and earthiness. As someone who adores coffee and roses, I can’t wait to immerse myself in this sensory journey.

I live in France and I would be thrilled to try this captivating creation!

  • Patricia R. says:

I like the juxtaposition of crispy winter day, roasting strong coffee and a sparkle of raspberry. The rose on top of that brings out that elevation into the spiritual world, as roses that I see around now in the winter almost speak to men with words – they are incredibly resilient and eloquent. I live in the EU.

  • I’m thinking coffee and an almond pastry in a rose garden sounds lovely! That patchouli and vanilla makes it sound perfect for this winter weather (the only coffee fragrance I own is stashed away for the winter). I like that this has a playful sparkle. I’ve yet to explore this line. Thanks for the opportunity. USA.

  • I love coffee and I am always in the mood for something that has coffee in its composition or is built around the idea of coffee. I really liked this line from your review ‘As the scent unfolds, the smell of roasted coffee mingles with the rose, with earthy patchouli and the sweetness of vanilla closing in the chapter of 1001 nights.’

    Thanks! Europe

  • Ooh I love a rose fragrance and now that I have fallen in love with Meo Fusciuni’s Little Song I also love coffee fragrances. I’m curious how this comes together with the almond. It sounds delicious. I am located in the U.S.

  • Jackie Rosenfeld says:

Nothing like a coffee note to get me excited about a perfume! And with rose? Oh I’d love this!

  • Arabican Rose captivates me with its intriguing combination of Arabica coffee and roses, two of my favorite notes. I can imagine this fragrance creating a sensual and sophisticated olfactory experience, especially with the added depth of raspberry, almonds, and patchouli. I admire Maison Tahité for their unique approach to perfumery, and this release seems like a true masterpiece. I live in Romania, European and would love the opportunity to experience this fragrance. Thank you for this generous giveaway!

  • I love coffee scents and I love drinking coffee as well. Of course, I knew Arabica was the best type of coffee bean to drink but I wasn’t aware there was a similar distinction in fragrance as well. The inherent floral tones of Arabica seem to pair well with the rose in the Maison Tahite Arabican Rose fragrance. The addition of the gourmand notes seems to make a sumptuous scent. MD, USA.

    THanks for the lovely writeup!

I love coffee scents and I often find that they smell weak and a lot of the other notes overpower the coffee aspect.

I find this combination of rose and fruits really fascinating in conjunction with the coffee and I would love to give it a try.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • The rose, rose and rose, mixed with the coffee is what caught my eye. I originally started reading the article concerning another perfume but decided it was too Gorman for me. This one is more up my alley. Thanks for the review.

  • I, too, love coffee scents and did a deep dive with samples last year. DSH Cafe Noire still remains my holy grail. Elegant and beautiful. I tried Maison Tahite’s Velvet Coffee last year and was very impressed. I love a good rose note in coffee. I think their dark sides meld perfectly. I would love to try this latest from Maison Tahite, as your description makes it sound wonderful. I’m writing this as I drink my morning coffee. Thank you for the article and the draw. I’m in USA.

  • Coffee & Rose’s Yes count me in. These notes are my favorite.Nicoleta review had me craving coffee. Thank you for this chance USA

  • I adore rose perfumes and coffee, but I don’t believe I’ve ever mixed the two. This sounds very intriguing! I also like how the smell of coffee can have some of the same energizing effects of drinking coffee, which I also only do in the mornings so I can sleep. Thanks and hello from CO, USA!

  • I’m intrigued by a fragrance that gets at the nuanced floral notes of a single-origin coffee, versus the sweet, creamy aspects of many cafe drinks. The “thorny, unapologetic” rose is a surprising focal point, but the earthy combination of coffee and patchouli sounds perfect for cold winter days, as does the pop of raspberry to fill out the rose. Clever twist on coffee.

    I’m in the USA.
