Behind the calm, composed visage of Thibaud Crivelli lies an insatiable thirst for adventure that has become the pulsating heartbeat of Maison Crivelli. With every new creation, as Creative Director, he beckons us to embark on a sensory odyssey, charting unexplored territories within the world of fragrance. This pursuit of the extraordinary is deeply rooted in his family’s eclectic legacy and an unending appetite for exploration, setting Maison Crivelli apart as a beacon of innovation among perfume houses.

The bold decision to intertwine the earthy richness of oud with the mouthwatering, sun-drenched acidity of passion fruit is brilliant… unexpected textures, flavors, and scents. Oud Maracuja emerged from a pivotal moment, a passionate encounter between the exotic fruit and the remote oud wood forests, forging a fragrance that is unconventional.

The extraordinary duality of this fragrance resides in the contrast between the luxurious oud wood and the luminous, exotic notes of passion fruit. This combination transports you to a vivid, untamed olfactive landscape. Picture yourself at the inception of this adventure, sinking your teeth into the ripe, succulent maracuja fruit, each bite releasing an explosion of flavor, heightened by a touch of saffron’s fragrant allure and the opulent embrace of velvety rose petals.

As the journey unfolds, the mystical oud accord unfurls, scorching hot and enveloped in the balsamic warmth of benzoin. The oud wood, reminiscent of smoldering embers in a wild forest, seduces the senses with its smoky allure. Its velvety and enigmatic texture feels like a portal to an unseen realm. Transitioning to the fragrance’s heart, a subtle leather note emerges, its warmth and softness echoing the copper hues of a setting sun. An earthy facet of patchouli follows suit, evoking the scent of freshly turned soil and the subtle dampness of fallen forest leaves. Here, you can almost sense the very pulse of nature coming to life on your skin, as if the composition itself breathes and unfurls, akin to a delicate blossom opening its petals.

The base notes, a harmonious duet of decadent vanilla and resinous, honeyed akigalawood©, serve as the final strokes of this impressive perfume. They gracefully smooth the rough edges of the untamed woods, leaving a lingering, luxurious impression.

Maison Crivelli Oud Maracuja Extrait de Parfum is a fiery beast, roaring with a distinctive, resounding presence that refuses to be ignored, transporting you to a vivid dreamscape where valorous contrasts and untamed beauty coalesce in an unforgettable olfactory composition.

  • Oud Maracuja was up until recently UK Selfridges exclusive, I guess the exclusivity period expired.
“Maison Crivelli Oud Maracuja Extrait de Parfum is a fiery beast, roaring with a distinctive, resounding presence”
If you think Oud Maracuja is a fiery and roaring beast, just wait and see for Oud Stallion ,another temporary UK exclusive but for Harrods , also composed by Jordi Fernandez. Oud Stallion is more ruff around the edges older brother, compared to more tamed and social friendly Oud Maracuja. The other difference is Oud Stallion is more linear, but Oud Maracuja changes a lot, it also smells different on different people.

  • How I dream to own at least something from this brand. I always wanted Hibiscus Mahajad but can’t afford. I am very interested in winning this beauty especially for the cold times that are approaching.

Olya, I enjoyed your review. Spot on. I tried this fragrance at Perfumology in Olde City Philadelphia and find it a stunningly alluring creation 🙂

  • I love the sound of this. All the resinous, smokey, and funky facets of oud mixed with the tart fruitiness of passionfruit makes my mouth water. Will have to track down a sample of this one for sure.

This is not your typical tropical fruit scent. The oud makes it darker and richer. It really elevates you from the crowd. The dry down is more of a classic oud/rose combo. Even if the passion fruit disappears quite quickly, it remains fruity, like a delicious Brazilian cocktail.

Don’t be afraid of the oud, here it’s quite easy to like, yet powerful. It does lead on the masculine side. It would be best worn on a hot summer night, as described. Use it with caution, this is a beast mode fragrance.

Wow this sounds really good. Lovely review. I love the idea of passionfruit and oud. What an interesting combo!

  • Oud and passionfruit is such an exciting combo! I’m also curious about akigalawood – patchouli/oud/pepper notes sound like a winning combo for a basenote.

  • I think it’s a nice one! Don’t own any from this brand and would love to own one. Interested in winning a bottle.
