M. Micallef Ô Féminin (David Chieze) 2024 + An Ode to Orange Blossom Giveaway

M. Micallef Ô Féminin

M. Micallef Ô Féminin by Olya Bar

The newest addition to the “Secrets of Love” collection, by M. Micallef Ô Féminin, is a sparkling, sweet, and floral eau de parfum that truly celebrates an exceptional orange blossom at its heart. It is at once sensual, carnal, soothing, and undeniably modern. With the tagline “Sweetness is strength” and garnering numerous compliments from other women upon the first few wears, it truly lived up to its name.

I will admit that the orange blossom holds a special place in my fragrance journey. It wasn’t always a favorite of mine; it took me years to grasp this beautiful ingredient’s full depth and versatility. Now, with a profound appreciation, I constantly search for new iterations highlighting its effortless purity and timeless elegance. Wearing M. Micallef Ô Féminin has been particularly exciting, proving one of the best renditions of orange blossom in recent years.

With such a rich history, symbolizing fertility, luck, wealth, and status, orange blossom has been used in weddings for centuries, from a bride’s hair and bouquet to the groom’s boutonniere. This trend persisted well into the 1950s, famously adorned by Jacqueline Kennedy at her wedding in 1953. It’s exciting to see this tradition making a comeback, especially among younger perfume enthusiasts who appreciate its nuanced charm. If you’re considering orange blossom for your wedding, Ô Féminin could be the perfect choice to carry on this beautiful tradition.

M. Micallef Ô Féminin opens with a slightly bitter petitgrain intertwined with the juicy sweetness of mandarin and zesty lemon, making a breathtaking first impression. The heart unfolds with a scrumptious, ripe, lush pear note, finding a perfect complement in the soft caresses of jasmine. A whisper of rose, and a pinch of aromatic pink pepper add depth without overpowering the bouquet, allowing the orange blossom to reign supreme and blending modernity with a touch of nostalgia.

M. Micallef Ô Féminin by Olya Bar

After wearing it all day on a warm spring day around NYC, I couldn’t help but notice that the fragrance evokes the olfactory image of a sumptuous orange blossom cake. I could almost taste layers of fluffy, fruit-infused sponge paired with zesty orange marmalade and tangy whipped cream cheese frosting. My thoughts drift to a leisurely Saturday, where time slips unnoticed, and one can fully immerse in the tranquility of midday baking. As the cake gently rises in the oven, the kitchen becomes enveloped in warm, buttery aromas, creating a cozy, inviting atmosphere. It’s equally comforting as elegant, even bold, and can easily be an olfactory play on the wedding cake. A sleek, pastel pink cake that tastes of golden sunlight and sweet flower petals.

In its base, vanilla gently peaks out, adding a hint of sophisticated and not overly sugary candied sweetness, followed by the light earthiness patchouli that brings in the end, grounding all the fruits and flowers just a bit. The comforting wrap of musks and creamy sandalwood brings a sensual, slightly salty finish to the composition, making it a well-rounded finale. M. Micallef Ô Féminin connects us to a rich floral heritage, proving once again that the best scents are those that marry tradition with innovation.

Notes: Petitgrain, Mandarin Orange, Lemon, Bergamot, Pink Pepper, Jasmine, Neroli, Rose; Orange Blossom, Patchouli, Musk, Vanilla, Sandalwood.

  • Thanks for this lovely giveaway. I live in a place where orange blossoms grow and it’s a pleasure to walk outside when they’re blooming. Such a beautiful, sophisticated scent. Love the idea of an orange blossom cake… maybe I should make one? I’m in the USA.

  • This review by Olga Bar painted a mouth-watering picture of this fragrance. I’m stuck by the way orange blossom was described in terms of symbolism (weddings and fertility) and its role in gourmand scents – and cuisine! I’ve tasted many a fragrant orange blossom scented sweet and have used orange blossom water in my own baking of maamoul.

I’ve only ever smelled Guaiac from the brand and I loved it!

I am a registered reader in the USA.

I am also very particular about orange blossom in a fragrance, but this blend sounds beautiful. I love the added notes of petitgrain, mandarin, vanilla and sandalwood. I have not tried many from the line, but my favorite M. Micallef is Ylang in Gold. I am in CA, USA

  • In the fragrance “Ô Féminin” by M. Micallef, the orange blossom emerges as a captivating protagonist, weaving a tale of sensuality and modern allure. Through a symphony of poetic notes, it unveils layers of sweetness and sophistication, akin to the complexities of love itself. The bitter petitgrain and vibrant citrus dance in harmony, while the lush pear and delicate jasmine add depth and intrigue.

As the scent evolves, it conjures visions of a decadent orange blossom cake, with each layer unfolding like a love story, blending nostalgia with contemporary flair. The subtle interplay of vanilla, patchouli, and musks creates a mesmerizing finale, leaving a lingering impression that transcends time.

Through its evocative journey, “Ô Féminin” not only celebrates the beauty of orange blossom but also pays homage to the rich floral heritage that continues to inspire and enchant. It is a testament to the enduring power of fragrance, where tradition and innovation converge to create an unforgettable olfactory experience.

I am a huge fan of Micallef. I own Note Vanillee and have tried GnTonic numerous times, this new addition seems perfectly timed for the season. A fizzy, sparkling offering with lots of fruits and flowers announce spring has arrived. Even though O Feminin is a female targeted release, I’ve left those gender hang ups aside a long time ago when it comes to fragrances. Wear what you want, when you want and how you want it. I am a fan of orange blossom too now even though I didn’t really paid attention to it much at the beginning of my fragrance journey. I still love Note Vanillee the most from this house. One thing we don’t speak enough about Micallef is the marketing and how the come up with the advent calendars and sample sets, no other house is doing it like it when it comes to promoting the brand. Cheers from NJ, USA.

  • This sounds lovely! I have not tried this brand yet, but I adore orange blossom and petitgrain, and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that one of my go-to “safe” perfumes for things like job interviews, etc., Jo Malone’s Orange Blossom, is also Kate Middleton’s signature scent. Ô Féminin sounds like a sweeter, more sophisticated version, so I would love to check it out. Also love the history of orange blossoms as a wedding scent. Thanks and hello from CO, USA!

  • I still have my OG Ylang in Gold and Gaiac!!Wonderful brand that deserves more attentiom Beautiful. I love orange blossom fragrances and I have my sister’s wedding to attend next month. Ô Féminin would be amazing…USA

  • WillRhodes says:

I love M. Micallef and love wear Gntonic! I have been on the hunt for a good, sweet floral, and I love its sparkling aspects. This sounds so perfect for the warm days ahead.
    -I’m in Chicago

  • I love the cake analogy made by Olya as Ô Féminin sounds absolutely fluffy, cloudy and scrumptious. I enjoy a good orange blossom in Spring. It gives the promise of the warmer days ahead but it is fresh (and slightly wet) from the winter before. Would love to try this. Marit the Netherlands

  • Thank you for this lovely article highlighting O Feminin’s use of orange blossom! I, too, have come to a new appreciation of orange blossom over the last few years and this time of year I crave it…. Would love to try this new “modern” take on it with “a touch of nostalgia”. And truthfully, the reference to orange blossom cake is indeed mouthwatering… I like using orange flower water in baklava, and I wonder if this perfume would reflect nutty, sweet aromatic deliciousness of it! Thank you for this generous draw, I live in NH, USA.

  • The creamy sandalwood really strikes me it must be such a deep and rich note in this fragrance. Ô Féminin alongside Glamour would probably be my favourite. I live in Trzebnica, Poland, EU.

  • madamepeace says:

Orange blossom is my obsession this spring! I smelled two orange trees blossoming last week in 2 areas of california. I felt carried away to an ethereal place of skin musk and pure petals. This M. Micallef Ô Féminin rendition of orange blossom sounds like a slice of heaven. Baking is my zen like pastime. This slice of orange blossom cake sounds like a way to sink deeper into the indulgence of hedonism without the threat of calories. Love this description/review! I have tried the Ylang in Gold at a local niche perfumery and love its golden and elegant tinkling notes. Would be humbled and amazed to try this orange blossom madness! From OR, USA.

  • This just sounds like perfection. The notes and development of this fragrance seems perfect for spring, summer or quite frankly any season! Would love to try and thank you so much for the generosity!

  • Well, I have to admit, that beautiful cake caught my eye! I love the scent of orange blossoms and its fragrance fills a room. I visited a nursery that had them blooming once and I didn’t want to leave. I like the description of the light earthiness patchouli in Ô Féminin. MI USA

  • This fragrance sounds absolutely incredible! I’ve always loved orange blossom notes, so I’m drawn to this because of the mandarin and lemon opening. Orange blossom fragrances can typically seem less sophisticated in terms of note combinations, so I really like how this has pink pepper, rose, and jasmine to make it more balanced. I love Ylang In Gold and I would be very excited to try this fragrance! I live in New York, USA.

  • roxhas1cat says:

Best rendition of orange blossom is quite a compliment. I didn’t always like orange blossom myself, but as I’ve smelled more and more fragrances, I like it. Now I want to bake that cake, I have some orange flower essence in my spice cabinet. I think I’ll give it a go for Mother’s Day dessert. I’ve heard good things about this fragrances from a few other sources. I’d love to be the lucky winner. Thanks for the chance. My favorite of the line is the discontinued Guiaic. USA.

  • Just like Olya, I pretty much ignored orange blossom scents and quickly dismissed any featuring this note. But in time, I came to appreciate it a lot and own quite a few fragrances that center around the delicate orange blossoms. Not one like Ô Féminin though, with almost gourmand sweetness – that would definitely be interesting to sample, as it happens with all the notes you like and are drawned to in perfumes – one seeks to discover as many facets as possible of a same note.
Thank you for the review and the draw, from EU.

I love orange blossom! I never would have thought of cake sweetness but I bet the vanilla takes it to the top! Thank you for the giveaway.. USA

Among so many perfumes and reviews about perfumes, I’m glad to see that truly feminine perfumes are also brought to our attention
“M. Micallef Ô Féminin connects us to a rich floral heritage, proving once again that the best scents are those that marry tradition with innovation.”
I am a woman, I love very feminine perfumes that emphasize my femininity.

  • when reading off the notes my mind began to wonder about an orange cake of some sorts just like Olya was describing. Even the color makes me think of it. Wondering aboout that citrus opening with the lemon and mandarin just has my mouth watering and I know that orange blossom note is just making it an ultimate spring weather fragrance. Thank you again for the opportunity to win this fragrance

I live in Dallas, Tx and my favorite perfume by M. Micallef is definitly GNTonic.

  • Beautiful comparison of O Feminin perfume to a cake, I love it when a perfume meanders between layers of different notes, just like the layers of the cake. As Olya I was at first weary of orange blossom fragrances- they seemed almost too heady, too overwhelming on/for me. But in recent tears, this has begun to change.
    Beautiful images btw.

For some time now, I’ve been gravitating towards lighter fragrances. For someone who actively sought dark, complicated scents, this is a strange development, but one I am embracing. It feels wonderful… Citrus, of all things, was never my thing, and here I am, stepping into the orange tree garden. I’ve noticed the scents I’ve been wearing on a daily basis for a couple of months now have a subtle or not so subtle citrus component. M. Micallef is one of those houses I am fascinated with. There’s something untouchable about them, as well as relatable. Something, like a postcard from the past, an intersection of worlds and feelings. The bottle of Ô Féminin, as most M. Micallef bottles are, is beautiful. And the perfume sounds like a beautiful summer day, but early summer, when you can’t quite believe in three months’ time, autumn will trap the light into its amber globe. I think we all deserve a scent that makes us feel light. And loved. Oh and my favorite M. Micallef? Gaïac… Writing from Romania

  • This sounds truly delicious! I have seen it praised on youtube as being one of the most beautiful orange blossom perfume, so of course I am really curious about this one. Sadly, I havent explored this brand in depth, therefore I can not mention a favorite perfume. But O Feminin seems the right one to start with. Greetings from Romania, EU.

  • I love M. Micallef and my all-time favorite is Mon Parfum Cristal. From the Secrets Of Love Collection, I liked Glamour and Ô Féminin sounds just perfect. What attracted me is the description “It’s equally comforting as elegant, even bold, and can easily be an olfactory play on the wedding cake. A sleek, pastel pink cake that tastes of golden sunlight and sweet flower petals.”

  • The description of this fragrance won me over, I love everything, the initial sparkling notes and the sweet and delicate finish. The evolution of this perfume is extremely pleasant, how nice to win Ô Féminin 🙂

  • Ô Féminin by M. Micallef sounds absolutely enchanting according to Olya`s review, with its celebration of orange blossom and modern yet nostalgic blend of notes. The imagery of a sumptuous orange blossom cake and the evocation of a leisurely baking day add such a delightful dimension to the fragrance experience. As a fan of M. Micallef perfumes, particularly Ananda Mango, I’m intrigued by the combination of tradition and innovation in Ô Féminin and eager to explore its sweet and floral allure.
    I am from the EU

  • Ô Féminin appears to be a fragrance that celebrates the beauty of orange blossom while offering a modern, sensual interpretation with gourmand elements and a hint of nostalgia.
Ananda is another beloved fragrance from M. Micallef.

I would like to try this perfume, I imagine it to be akin to Organza, which was divine. I live in the EU.

  • All those citruses and flowers really give me a vibe that this is summer in a bottle! I do not have experience with the fragrances from this house, but Ô Féminin sounds really promising!

Olya, you never cease to amaze me in how well you convey a fragrance through print.

While at ScentXplore in December, we spent time with M. Micallef’s Commercial Director, Charbel Asmar. In addition to being a wealth of knowledge on M. Micallef’s creations, he allowed my wife and I to get our noses on upcoming fragrances and Ô Féminin was one that wholeheartedly capture both me and my wife’s attention. The olfactive experience of this fragrance on my wife’s skin was everything you stated in your review Olga…and more. This creation was definitely a marriage of tradition with innovation.

Our favorite fragrances from this house are:
    Wife: Ylang In Gold
    Me: DesirToxic

  • Secrets of Love” collection, M. Micallef Ô Féminin is the new release. Olga did a wonderful job describing the notes. I have the advent calendar for this fragrance house everything is wonderful.Love sparkling, sweet, floral with an exceptional orange blossom. Definitely in time for Spring/Summertime.Thank you for this chance USA

  • I love orange blossom in perfume and m. Micallef makes one of my top 10 perfumes (ylang in gold). This particular pink fluffy cake of a fragrance might have to be on my short list. In maryland.

  • What an absolutely delicious sounding scent!
I love the house of Micallef and I am sure that anything that comes out from the brand will just be spectacular.
The cakey side of this orange blossom centric scent is what intrigues me the most. I find I am reaching for sweeter scents lately, while still not a fan of full gourmand. And I think Olya is totally right saying that orange blossom is a note of timeless purity and elegance, so I will be happy to smell it in yet another interpretation.
I live in the EU and my favorite Micallef is Black.

  • Orange Blossom fragrances are spring to me. Ô Feminin sounds lovely and delicate with added citrus notes on a bed of creamy vanilla and sandalwood. Olya describes it as a sumptuous gourmand that I can imagine as an impressive wedding cake. I’m in the US.

  • Ô Féminin Sounds like they dream orange blossom fragrance – all the notes supporting the main star. Can’t wait to smell this one based off my favourite note in perfumery. Based in usa

The strength of the orange blossom in this perfume excites me immensely. The base notes sound like the perfect ending to this fragrance. I live in Oregon, I do not have a favorite M. Micallef.

  • Wow, okay, I’m not really a huge gourmand lover, but soemthing about the description here really REALLY sounds amazing and truly makes me want to experience this orange blossom cake! The review made this sound incredible and Must Try! I live in the USA. Micallef Gaiac is my favorite of the brand, but I also own a bottle of the Patchouli.

  • Nikolina_84 says:

This perfume contains some of my favorite notes: Jasmine, Neroli and Orange Blossom, so I believe I’d really really like it! Adding Bergamot, Mandarin Orange and Lemon to the combination, it sounds like spring in a bottle.
My favorite from M. Micallef is Ylang in Gold ☀
    Hugs from Croatia, EU!

  • Just by looking at the pictures and I can feel the yumminess of Ô Féminin! I am curious about this one as I do love a nice citrus and neroli perfume.

  • Brad Woolslayer says:

A fragrance that evokes an orange blossom cake sounds really interesting. I live in Maryland USA.

  • Ô Féminin sounds like the perfect fragrance for weathers we have (hopefully!) coming up in the northern hemisphere 😀 White florals + citrus is one of my current favourite scent profiles. I don’t own anything from the house yet but I remember trying Pure Extreme and really liking it! I’m in the EU.

  • M. Micallef Ô Féminin sounds absolutely divine! The intricate blend of citrusy notes, delicate florals, and warm, creamy undertones seems like a symphony of scent that would transport anyone wearing it to a place of elegance and comfort. The imagery you’ve painted with the comparison to an orange blossom cake is truly delightful—it’s fascinating how fragrances can evoke such vivid sensory experiences.

What strikes me about Ô Féminin is its ability to balance tradition with modernity. It pays homage to the rich history of orange blossom while presenting it in a fresh and contemporary way. The combination of familiar notes like petitgrain and mandarin with unexpected elements like pear and pink pepper adds layers of complexity and intrigue to the fragrance.

I haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing Ô Féminin yet, it sounds like something I would love to add to my collection. As for my favorite perfume by M. Micallef, I have to say it’s their Ananda Dolce. Its intoxicating blend of fruity and floral notes, accented by creamy vanilla and sensual musk, creates an unforgettable olfactory experience that always leaves me feeling uplifted and empowered.

    From France (EU)

  • M. Micallef Ô Féminin is intriguing! Its mix of citrus, florals, and warmth creates a scent journey. The imagery of an orange blossom cake is charming. I’m fascinated by how it merges tradition and modernity, blending classic elements with unexpected twists. While I haven’t tried it, it seems like a must-have. My top pick from M. Micallef is Ananda Dolce, a blend of fruitiness, florals, vanilla, and musk that always lifts my spirits.

  • CatherineA says:

    M. Micallef has me at orange blossom! I’m captured heart and soul by this note ever since I spent a spring and summer in Sicily, and I’m excited to find another fragrance that explores it. I live in the US (Kentucky), and my favorite Micallef so far is Ylang inGold.

  • What strikes me most about this review is how wearable this scent seems to be. I normally don’t go for gourmands because, while I love the idea, something about smelling like food just doesn’t work on my skin. I think this fragrance sounds really balanced, and I love that lemon was thrown in to cut some of the sweetness. I think this fragrance has a lot of potential. Warm regards from Illinois, USA.

  • Blending Modernity with nostalgia and Orange blossom sounds divine. It doesn’t hurt to have these elements present, either. It’s equally comforting, elegant, even bold! I must admit this would go great with my other “Secrets of Love” fragrances. I am in the USA.

  • Sherin Thomas says:

I am huge fan of Orange Blossom fragrance and petit grain adds a zing to it for sure. I can’t wait to get my nose on to it. From PA,USA

  • I’ll admit that orange blossom fragrances haven’t grabbed my attention yet, so Olya’s comments here stood out: “it took me years to grasp this beautiful ingredient’s full depth and versatility.” I also didn’t realize it was a common wedding fragrance. M. Micallef Ô Féminin sounds lovely, using a range of notes to support that core accord, with the pear standing out as a particularly nice combination. And the drydown seems to emphasize smooth comfort.

I’m in the midwest, USA. I haven’t tried any M. Micallef perfumes.

  • I opened the back door at my mother’s home yesterday and was literally blasted with a full warm enveloping fragrance of orange blossoms! Actually my mom has a few orange trees in bloom and a “mock orange” for good measure. When I say there is nothing like it!!! If I could have that scent anytime I’d be the luckiest duck ever. Thank you for the chance to win, I’m in California.

  • Orange blossom is one of my favorite notes, especially during the spring and summer. Like Olya, I am always seeking fragrances with the note. As soon as Olya mentioned that Ô Féminin evoked a sumptuous orange blossom cake, I knew I needed it! I am a huge fan of floral gourmands in both perfumery and dessert. I love the smell and taste of orange blossom, and an orange blossom cake would be delicious. Olya’s photo of the orange blossom cake also looks delectable.

I enjoy many fragrances from Micallef, but my favorites are Ylang in Gold, Passion, Mon Parfum Cristal, and Vanille Aoud.

Thank you, Olya, for the great review, and thank you to Micallef for the giveaway. I am located in the USA.

  • wandering_nose says:

Oh my… What a delight to read and look at this was, thank you Olya! Just like yourself, I’ve had my ups and downs with orange blossom but with the spring being here, I can feel an upward trajectory is about to commence. I’ve also been into classics and feminine fragrances recently, so Ô Féminin warms up my heart in so many ways. It appears as a delectable, enveloping and uplifting creation that has the capacity to make the wearer and those around him, happy. I love that Olya points to the compliments received from women – to me this is the highest level of appreciating someone’s perfume. I trust Olya’s opinion of Ô Féminin being one of the best renditions of orange blossom in recent years. Would love to be able to cherish it this spring and summer. Thank you from the EU
