Jacques Fath Green Water, Curacao Bay and Vers Le Sud (Cécile Zarokian) 2016 + The 3 You Should Be Wearing This Summer Draw

Jacques Fath Vers Le Sud. Green Water and Curacao Bay review

Under Rania Barakat Naim’s top-notch creative direction, the resurrected Perfume House of Jacques Fath has up to now released three fragrance quartets within its “Fath’s Essentials” line. Among these twelve scents, there is a certain trio that spells “summer” loud and clear: Green Water, Curacao Bay, and Vers Le Sud. As it happens, each of these summertime favorites of mine is signed by Cécile Zarokian (she, and Luca Maffei, are the collection’s two perfumers); that added an extra layer of interest in writing this article, since Mme Zarokian is praised for her beautiful, opulent creations, many which are based on patchouli, vanilla, amber, and/or spices (think Jovoy Paris Remember Me and Private Label, Masque Milano Tango, Laboratorio Olfattivo Patchouliful, Puredistance Sheiduna and Rubikona, Nishane Ani or Amouage Material). Apart from being ideal options for the hottest days of the year, the three thirst-quenching Jacques Fath fragrances that I selected are also excellent showcases of the perfumer’s creative range and diverse talent.

Green Water for Fath's Essentials review

Jacques Fath Green Water (digital collage by Despina Veneti©)

Green Water (Cécile Zarokian, 2016): The original “Green Water Eau de Toilette Givrée” – historically, one of the first citrus/aromatic compositions – was released by Les Parfums Jacques Fath between 1946-1947, and was composed by perfumer Vincent Roubert, creator of Fath’s legendary Iris Gris. It’s been written that Green Water was marketed from the start as a “masculine” fragrance, however the addition “Pour Monsieur” seems to belong to certain later-era bottles (in my archives, there is a French 1957 ad that promotes Green Water as a scent that “both men and women use”). Unlike Iris Gris which was discontinued in the 1950s, Green Water’s production doesn’t seem to have been halted after Fath’s untimely death in 1954 (one can find several Green Water ads in magazines published long after that year, and up to the brand’s acquisition by L’Oréal in the 1960s). A new and repackaged version of Green Water was released in 1967, which – unlike the original and the ones to follow – I have never smelled. After a few more transformations of the scent orchestrated by the brand’s subsequent owners in the 1990s and 2000s, the House’s new creative director, Rania Naim, assigned the task of reinstating Green Water’s former glory to independent perfumer Cécile Zarokian. As no fragrance formulas were passed on to Panouge (the current owner of the historical brand), the perfumer turned to the Osmothèque, the keeper of Roubert’s archives. Mme Zarokian was not shown the actual formula, but was allowed to smell the fragrance’s reconstruction at Versailles, take extensive notes, and carry a few scented strips with her.

Under the guidance of Osmothèque’s co-founder Jean Kerléo, the perfumer delivered a scent of profound freshness and mind-clearing energy. Less mentholated than the original (and steering clear of the toothpaste-reminiscent spearmint of the reformulations), Cécile Zarokian’s version remains wonderfully herbal; it also retains the enjoyable interplay between a crunchy bouquet garni and bright neroli. Unlike most cologne-type compositions, the focus is not placed on the citruses (although several of them are included, the original scent was more prominently citrusy); what defines Mme Zarokian’s composition is the verdant and bitterish bite of the crisp herbs, green oakmoss, and grassy vetiver. Jacques Fath Green Water is less floral than both the original (where the neroli was accompanied by geranium, rose, and lavender blossom) and its transformations (mostly featuring an odd jasmine note). Its overall experience is that of refreshing serenity, polished naturalness, and timeless sophistication. An olfactive equivalent of a dip into cool, emerald waters and a sip of a frozen, aromatic Mojito, Jacques Fath Green Water is meant to be sprayed with abandon: considering its soft sillage, a 200ml bottle will be consumed much sooner than expected. Notes: Bergamot, Neroli, Lemon, Mandarin, Orange, Mint, Basil, Tarragon, Clove, Caraway, Oakmoss, Vetiver, Ambergris, Musk.

Jacques Fath Curacao Bay review

Jacques Fath Curacao Bay (digital collage by Despina Veneti©)

Curacao Bay (Cécile Zarokian, 2016): As someone who is extremely wary of “beachy” fragrances, and their – often clichéd – suntan lotion or Calone-heavy aquatic accords, I did not expect to fall that hard for Jacques Fath Curacao Bay. For that, I applaud Cécile Zarokian’s mastery and good taste: her delicious, pleasurable composition combines the enjoyment of a decadent cocktail, the sensation of solar caresses on one’s skin, and the feeling of losing oneself into the depths of turquoise waters. The use of frangipani is pivotal in the composition, creating an intoxicating, coconut-creamy heart of exotic sensuality that colors the various juicy, fruity, and delectable notes accordingly. Such a plethora of (often unruly) fragrant elements could easily end up being cloyingly sweet; Mme Zarokian, however, achieves a lovely balance through the moderating, conducting effect of her salty and musky ambergris/oceanic accord. The tropical fantasy of Curacao Bay encompasses every desired element of a much-dreamed Caribbean vacation: from lying under a palm tree, to enjoying an ice-cold Blue Hawaiian; and from wearing a mesmerising plumeria lei, to feeling the ocean waves gently breaking against one’s body. Jacques Fath Curacao Bay is a stylishly executed, veritable olfactory experience – rich, colorful, invigorating, and ever so addictive. Notes: Tangerine, Lemon, Petitgrain, Orange, Green Notes, Frangipani, Sea Notes, Blackcurrant, White Musk, Ambergris, Woody Notes.

Fath's Essentials Vers Le Sud review

Jacques Fath Vers Le Sud (digital collage by Despina Veneti©)

Vers Le Sud (Cécile Zarokian, 2016): For me, there can be no ideal vacation without even a part of it spent in the Mediterranean. This will be the first summer in years that I won’t be able to visit my home country, Greece, and fragrance will play an essential part in filling that emotional, and sensory, vacuum. One of the perfumes that I plan to wear a lot in the weeks to come is Jacques Fath Vers Le Sud, for the way it transports me to carefree, blissful summer days “towards the South” (as its name means in French): lemon trees in full bloom, figs ripening under the sun, gardens laden with flowers, the sea spray kissing my face – the olfactive scenery of some of my fondest memories. Vers Le Sud opens with a combination of euphoric lemon, aromatic lavender, and abstract green/floral notes, which altogether feel like opening a gate to a garden at its very peak. Cécile Zarokian’s distinct fig accord is fresh and green, creating an impression of a friendly, shady fig tree at the edge of the garden. Her potent marine accord enriches the composition with salty water, sea breeze, and driftwood nuances; playful and inviting, it promises a secluded, pristine beach just a few stone steps away. Since walking these steps for real seems rather improbable this year, Vers Le Sud helps me recall that exhilarating sensation of meeting again with my beloved Sea. All I have to do is close my eyes, and inhale. Notes: Argentinean Lemon, Green Notes, Lavender, Sea Notes, Fig Leaf, Flower Notes, Violet, Oakmoss, Woody Notes, Musk.

Disclaimer: I’d like to thank Jacques Fath for the 50ml bottle and the two 15ml ones provided after my selection. The opinions are my own.

Mmm, these all sound so wonderful, and perfect for the summer! Each one sounds like a relaxing vacation to somewhere I can’t go right now! I don’t know Jacques Fath, but the bottles are lovely, and all of these scents sound wonderful. I would choose Vers Le Sud as the one I’d want to try most! I’m in NYC.

  • Lovely reviews by Despina Veneti of Jacques Fath brand’s history and perfumes. Besides the wonderful descriptions, I enjoyed looking at the three digital collages that Despina created of the three perfumes, especially that of Green Water. They all sound lovely and it’s hard to choose one, if I so lucky as to win this draw, but based on Despina’s reviews, I would choose Jacques Fath Curacao Bay. Unfortunately, not familiar with this brand, so don’t have a favorite, yet. May look for a discovery set of the Jacques Fath line, if it’s available. Thanks for the reviews and the draw. I am in the USA.

  • My favorite Jaques Fath fragrance, indeed the only one I know and own, is an older version of Green Water (I think I have the 2008 reformulation). I really like, but don’t quite love, it. But it’s a nice summer fragrance and I find if very wearable. I’ve wanted to sniff the new Cécile Zarokian reformulation since I started reading about it a few years back. I really enjoyed Despina’s description of how Zarokian went about making this latest version. As you might guess, if I were to win the draw, I’d want a bottle of the new Green Water. I’m in Oklahoma, USA. Thanks, as always, for the draw.

  • I love Despina’s outlining of the various notes and how Green Water differs from the toothpaste-like original. If I were to win, I would choose Green Water. I am dying to try L’Iris de Fath. Maybe one day. I live in Canada.

  • Brad Woolslayer says:

I enjoyed reading the description of Curacao Bay. The way it was described as not being too beachy or caloney. I would love to try and win a full bottle of Curacao Bay, since I think my wife and I would both enjoy trying it out. I live in Maryland USA.

  • I am most fascinated by Green Water. I love the idea of creating a modern version of a classic fragrance.

  • Cynthia F. says:

I enjoyed getting a glimpse behind the scenes into the recreation of the classic fragrance Green Water. Looking to the archives, going to Versaille to smell the recreation, and then a new formulation- the life of a perfumer. I am not familiar with Jacques Fath fragrances so no favorite, but I would love to try what sounds like a vacation fantasy, Curacao Bay. I can go there in my mind. Texas, USA

  • What a wonderful review. I am not familiar with this house but after this review I may need to look in to it originally I would have said the Curaçao Bay sent would be my favorite but I have such a love for fig that maybe the Vers Le Sud would be my preference.if I were lucky enough to win I would like Vers Le Sud. In maryland.

  • Andrei Artimon says:

Perfect scents for this time of the year. Cecile is one of my favourite parfumeurs as well. Love almost all of her creations. Favourite from the trio will be curacao bay. New york, usa.

  • Belladonna says:

Great reviews! They all sound so beautiful! love the idea of going to the Mediterranean – so I’ll say Vers Le Sud! Cecile Zarokian is so talented, thank you for the generous drawing. In the US

  • Despina gives us a wonderful description of the various fragrances with delightful pictures and captivating notes. I’ve not had the chance to try any Jacques Fath fragrances before but in this case the perfume i would most like to win is Curacao Bay.
I’m in the UK and thanks for the chance.

I liked Despina’s explaining the history of the Jacques Fath brand, which until a few years ago I thought had become defunct. The only fragrance I have tried from them is an older version of Green Water, which was a favorite of a friend of mine. I liked it, but Despina’s description of Vers le Sud got me even more interested, so that is the one I would choose. I liv in the US, in North Carolina.

  • The most intriguing fragrance of the three is Curaçao Bay and I would love to win a bottle. Despina painted an excellent picture of the scent, particularly when she indicated it was different than stereotypical beach fragrances. Thank you for the great review! Indiana, USA.

  • I have original version of Green Water and seems that the rework is clearly inspired by original formula and not a total rework that only shares the name. My fav. from Jacques Fath is Expression. My choice for this draw is Green Water. I am in US.

  • It’s always great to get the history behind the house. All if these would be great for the hot summers here in Arizona. Vers Le Sud would be my choice, though they all would be a welcome change of pace.

  • Absolutely wonderful. Cécile Zarokian is true master at her craft. I enjoyed that this review transported me away to a long long overdue vacation. Aren’t we all due for one at this point? I have no sampled any Jacques Fath yet, however Green Water sounds like my style. I also enjoyed learning about the history of the inspiration for this fragrance. I am from Canada.
Once again, thank you for the information about these gems!

Vers Le Sud is the perfect grean flower mediterean mist for summer and I like to win. I am from Eu Bucharest Romania Europe

  • These all sound like the perfect accompaniment for the summer! What a great review again Despina, I love your writing. I don’t know Jacques Fath fragrances, but these sound great so I would love to try one!! Especially Green Water. Living in the EU

Thanks a million from the United Kingdom

  • I really enjoyed how this was all summer in different ways snd vivid pictures were painted of each fragrance. They all sound nice too but I’ve never tried anything from the house. If I was to win I’d choose Curacao Bay. Thanks for the generous draw from CT USA.

  • aurora_ru says:

Cécile Zarokian and Luca Maffei are two on my top list for most extravagant perfumers, I really enjoy their creations. I haven’t tryed Jacques Fath line yet, but sounds very promising. Thiss summer I really enjoy the sourness of lemon and also lavender, so from the 3 I am attracted most to VERS LE SUD. I wanna get my nose on that euphoric lemon.
I live in the EU, thank you for the draw!

  • Thanks to Despina for the reviews. She gives us not only beautiful digital collage of the fragrances but wonderful descriptions of the scents with its notes. It is so great that Perfume House of Jacques Fath resurrected and give Mme Zarokian and Luca Maffei the power to bring back to life the “Fath’s Essentials”. Love Mme Zarokian work! Despina presents 3 perfumes perfect for the hottest days of the year and she is able to transmit her passion for all the scents, even being reluctant to a “beachy fragrance” as Curaçao Bay before smelling it . Never tried the previous and the original version of Green Water, but Zarokian ,smelling the fragrance’s reconstruction, is able to make a wonderfully herbal reformulation crisp herbs, green oakmoss, and grassy vetiver.I would choose to win Green Water and I live in Spain.

  • All three of them sound good for summer and Cecile Zarokian is very talented , i’ d like to try Curacao Bay if i’ m lucky ho win, i live în EU! Thanks for the draw!

  • O, summer, I love thee! Theese fragrances sound great, showcasing different aspects of summer. I lik Despina cannot imagine summer without spending at least part of it in the Mediterranean, therefore I wouldchoose Vers le Sud. Great digital collages by the way, so evocative!
    I’m in EU

  • joshuabrian says:

Great review! They all sound great, but I’d have to go with Vers Le Sud. It just sounds so lovely. In USA.

  • jmmcmenamin says:

I would love to try curaçao bay. I was sold when she described it as coconut creamy. I live in Louisiana, USA.

  • kramerongo says:

Good to know that ms Rania will give a new life to Jacques Fath. Very hard to choose one , all sound very appealing to me. In the end I choose Curacao Bay. The bottle and color wow . I am in Sweden EU

  • I loved reading Despina’s detailed and inspiring description of the three, it did touch me (I am sorry you won’t get to see your beautiful home country of Greece this summer, dear Despina, but I am sure that will only double the joy and emotion when you see it again next year! – in the meantime, Vers le Sud sounds like an excellent comfort giver) and it kept me reading about each of the three fragrances with true interest.
Anyhow, to me personally, Curacao Bay speaks the most. I am also not a glamorous beachy-cocktaily kinda person even when I DO go to the beach, but the lush frangipani-coconut accord really calls me. Also, I am not a huge fan of sweet scents. Therefore, the balance brought by oceanic and ambergris notes sounds very appealing.
I have unfortunately never smelled a Jacques Fath perfume before.
Should I win, I would of course pick Curacao Bay.
    I live in EU.
    Thanks!

  • emorandeira says:

    Dear collegues
I have not the oporttunity to try these brand yet but cecile zarokian is one of my favorite perfumes! What I liked the most is How despina describes each of the perfumes! I can al most feel them!! I think Curaçao bay is the one that keeps my attention the most
    Salut

  • Such a wonderful writeup of Jacques Fath fragrances! I’ve never tried any and only just learned of this perfumer from this article. I love the notes of Curacao Bay because of the creamy coconut heart description.
    I live in the USA.

  • NituNicolae says:

I love the idea of using cocktails as references for fragrances. Beachy or summery frangrances should all, in my opinion follow this pathway. I have yet to smell any Jacques Fath fragrances, but if i had to choose one for the giveaway, it would be Curacao Bay. I live in Romania, EU.

  • Love the reading of all three. Hard to pick one for the draw. I’ll go with the Vers Le Sud. US

  • I appreciated Despina’s review for the personalized elaboration of the notes described in each fragrance. Seriously, thank you for that! Many of these sound delightful for summer (and year round to be honest since I wear what I like regardless of seasons!). Vers le Sud and Green Water would be my pics for sure, if I had to choose, probably Vers Le Sud would win but I am so curious to even sniff anything from Jacques Fath’s line of fragrances! Thank you for the draw from Canada!

  • esperessence says:

Fascinating to read how Green Water was reconstructed after smelling the original at the Osmoteque. I was lucky to smell Iris Gris in Versailles. I would love to smell Green Water in its current formulation. Thank you for offering this give away I am in the EU, The Netherlands.

  • All three fragrances sound perfect for the summer. I appreciate the resurrection of the house and the modern take on some established fragrances. It’s always interesting to see how scents are reconfigured based on changing tastes. Since I’m pining away for a Caribbean vacation, I’d choose Curaçao Bay. The inclusion of frangipani and the nod towards the cocktail sold me. I’ve never tried any Jacques Fath scents before, I’m in MD, USA.

  • Another wonderful review by Despina. The fragrances are described in great detail and I have a good idea what I would like most. Cécile Zarokian sounds like a true master at her craft!

It is a shame you won’t get to visit Greece this summer. I wasn’t able to visit my home country either, but now that the the world is recovering I look forward to that well deserved vacation very soon!

Vers le Sud speak to me the most because of the fig note. I am a huge fan of fig and it would be perfect for me to wear this summer.
I have never smelled a Jacques Fath perfume before so I am quite excited to try this collection. Should I win, I would pick Vers le Sud.

    Greetings from the UK!

  • Kathleen Smith says:

I was happy to read a review of Fath perfumes and I enjoyed the history of Green Water the best. My favorite Fath perfume is Fath de Fath; I have several back-up bottles because I never want to be without. It is such as warm and special fragrance over the years. I’d most love to win Green Water; I enjoy modern interpretations of classics. I live in Colorado, USA.

  • All sound beautiful for Summertime. Love the notes, history, behind the fragrance. Well done Despina great review. USA

  • My favorite part of Despina’s review was her description of Vers le Sud filling the emotional and “sensory vacuum” of not being able to visit her home country. It was beautiful language used to express such a complex emotion. I hope Vers Le Sud gives her some comfort this summer!

I have yet to have the pleasure of a Jacques Fath fragrance, but have been wanting to try Lilas Esquis for a long time. It looks heavenly. Despina makes all of the three scents sound incredible, but I would love to win Vers le Sud! Greetings from NC, USA.

  • Dubaiscents says:

I have been wanting to try all of the scents from this house since they first came out but haven’t come across them in the US. It is Green Water that most interests me although they all sound amazing and unique. The fact that Cecile recreated this from just smelling the original a few times is quite the feat! Thank you for the draw. US

  • Despina, what a gorgeous review! We are traveling now (though not far from home). I am thinking of a beautiful evening spent in Thessaloniki’s old town, a sumptuous dinner, song with friends. I hope you get to see home soon. ❤️
I have heard good things about Jacques Fath & would love to try any of these perfumes by Cecile Zarokian! Reading more on CaFleureBon, this description captivates: “Cécile Zarokian does what she knows best and perhaps loves most – working in shades, tunes and tones, each note but a facet of a heart to which they gradually build up.”
Despina writes so beautifully about the notes of these 3 scents that it is impossible to select one! I am very curious how Zarokian avoids the cliche of overly sweet beach scent, creating “a lovely balance through the moderating, conducting effect of her salty and musky ambergris/oceanic accord.” If I win, I will go with Curaçao, but only due to an interest in how “beachy” scents are evolving (really all three sound equally gorgeous). Curious to know what “sea notes” are, as well. Thank you so much for this opportunity! I live in the USA.

  • I most liked learning about the progression of the fragrance Green Water from its original incarnation to the current one. I was especially interested to learn that the perfumer was allowed to take some scented strips with her from Versailles after bring allowed to smell its reconstruction. It sounds like a labor of love. I think I would most like to have a bottle of Curaçao Bay, however, as I am in the market for a tropical floral. I haven’t tried any Jacques Fath fragrances yet, but I would like to. I live in St. Louis, MO, USA. Thanks for the opportunity.

  • Like Despina, I too yearn for that ever-elusive tropical fragrance that is not laden with synthetic and/or saccharine undertones. I find that it’s a tall order to interpret the feeling of tropical flowers and waters realistically and tastefully enough. I have high hopes for Curacao Bay, since I’m a great fan of Cecile Zarokian’s work (and what a stylish lady she is as well!). I’ve been dying to try it out…Muchas gracias for the draw! Greetings from sunny Greece!

  • My favorite thing about this review was how her descriptions of each of the fragrances conjured up a wonderful vacation, each in a different local. I think Curacao Bay sounds the most lovely to me and I would be ecstatic to try it. I have not yet tried a Jacques Fath’s perfume. I am a resident of the state of Virginia in the US.

  • They all sound great and I dont know one of them. I liked most the information about the history of the perfumes, especially the reformulations of Green Water. I would choose Green Water.

    Living in Germany, EU

  • All those fragances Sound Good, but my favorite would be vers le sud. I once had a decant of Fath de Fath, which was nice, but I did not need a bottle of it. Vers le Sud would be something I could wear for holidays.
    I am from Germany

  • wandering_nose says:

Ah what dreamy summery atmosphere did Despina manage to create with her review! I wish she can go back home and enjoy the sea at its best very soon! All three creations sound scrumptious for the summer and I would love them all, though I have been most attracted to Curarao Bay so that would be my choice. I do not have a favorite Jacques Fath fragrance as of yet. Many thanks from Ireland, EU

  • petergigov says:

I was wearing Jacques Fath fragrances in the 90’s, especially Green Water. To my surprise after the revival of the brand, i found the re-released Green Water pretty similar to the vintage , with slightly lesser performance. 200ml is what I bought , it’s well worth it.
Happy fruity, marine compliment magnet fragrances I’m a fan of , Curacao Bay will suit me well.
    Nice giveaway, USA

Great photos accompanying this article, they really made me crave a vacation. From the description it sounds like any of these would be perfect for summer travel… something I’m desperately wishing for right now. I would choose Curacao Bay. I’m in the USA.

I liked Despina’s evocation of travel. I’m longing for places with lavander fields and easy access to the sea. For the reason I’d chose Vers Le Sud. Thanks so much for the chance! I’m in Brooklyn, NY

  • I liked Despina’s evocation of travel. I’m longing for places with lavender fields and easy access to the sea and don’t know when that will come again for me. All the scents sound good but I’d chose Vers Le Sud for the fig, herbs and salt. Thanks so much for the chance! I’m in Brooklyn, NY

  • I enjoyed learning about: the history of these Jacque Fath fragrances, the differences between the original version of these fragrances and the newest version of them, and Despina’s description of them helped me to have an understanding of what they are like. I’ve never tried a Jacques Fath fragrance. I would like to win Vers Le Sud because it seems to appeal the most to me. I live in MD., U.S.A.

  • All 3 fragrances I find appealing in a different way. Green Water i know , Curacao Bay for the tropical fruity oceanic vacation, and Vers Le Sud for lemon trees and fig Greece feel.
Jacques Fath i know for their classic Green Water. Every barber knows it well. Honestly I was scared, when they renewed the brand. I thought my beloved Green Water would be ruined, but it’s pretty close to the original to be honest. The only difference is in the vintage one there is more mint.
By vintage I mean late 90’s. Brought my huge 200ml bottle in Germany .
    Thanks to Despina, Jacques Fath

I’m in tailoring business, and I know Jacques Fath as high end fashion designer brand first. Of course I know some of their old , and the new fragrances.
They were famous with top of the line quality trenches made from Loden. It’s what they made themselves known for. Simply the best ! Much later Burberry actually copied blatantly most of Jacques Fath trenches designs from the 50s and 60s .
Le Loden i wear while working with clients , classy one.
Curacao Bay speaks to me the most, exotic juicy and fruity fragrance, with salty marine accords .
    Thanks for the giveaway

Thank you for the great review Despina.

I loved this story because it is the story of the revival of an old house – it is always great to see talented perfumers breathe life into things of the past. I very much enjoyed Alexndre’s spotlight on Cecile Zarokian and ‘m excited to see that she is behind these fragrances.

I also did not know about the existence of Osmotheque and would love to visit it one day. Fascinating in that Nicolai is it’s president.

Also I just loved the images in this review. It reminds me of old posters for products from back in the day.

I have smelt Cecile’s work, but I’ve not smelt anything from Jacques Fath

I would love to experience Cecile’s resurrection of either Green Water or Vers Le Sud.

    Cheers from WI, USA

A friend of mine gave me Jaques Fath sample set 2-3 years back, all 4 created in collaboration with Cecile Zarokian. Green Water, Bel Ambre , Vers le Sud , and Curaçao Bay . The last two are perfect for the summer.
My clear favorite is Curaçao Bay , like Despina said there’s no suntan lotion and calone heavy accords. Black Currant is strong on me , and gives the fragrance nice delicate fruity sweetness. I’d like to win a bottle.
By the way Jacques Fath Fath Pour L’Homme , and Vers le Sud are of my husband favorite fragrances
    Thank you Despina .

I really like the way Despina plays with words to create sensations. Like in this phrase: “the sensation of solar caresses on one’s skin, and the feeling of losing oneself into the depths of turquoise waters”.

I can almost feel these moments, like these sensations were real for a moment.

I am not familiar with any of Jacques Fath creations, but I would love to test many of them. Starting with Curacao Bay, Lilas Exquis and Les Frivolites.

I would love to try my luck for Curacao Bay.

I live in Europe, Thank you!

I am a great great fan of Mme Zarokian’s creations: after buying Jovoy’s box with 14 of her fragrances (including Green Water), I am totally in love with her style. I enjoyed Despina’s article, I like very much when I learn about the history of perfumery and I didn’t know the story of Jacques Fath’s brand. All the 3 fragrances sound amazing, as I said I have a sample of Green Water and it’s really excellent with this weather. Since I am going to Greece on holiday (so sorry for Despina that cannot go), I would like to win Vers le Sud. Greetings from Italy

A lovely review by Despina! I especially enjoyed the collages that capture the essence of each perfume. I recently ordered a Jacques Fath sample set. Most of them are beautiful compositions and my favorites so far are Velours Boise and Bel Ambre.
I would choose Curacao Bay because it evokes the smell of exotic faraway beaches and it manages to masterfully combine marine notes, which aren’t usually my favorite.
Thak you for the wonderful review and giveaway!

  • Green Water I’m familiar with , it’s been my grandpa’s signature scent for …. as far as I can remember. Back in the days the bottle was different, with frosted glass, but after he finished it I had to get him the new one from so called Essentials line , and he loves it too. It’s my grandpa’s fragrance, maybe that’s the reason, but to me it for mature gentleman only. You could say Jacques Fath is part of the family.
Curaçao Bay according to Despina has the vacation vibe, tropical weather, and the review brought to surface my happy memories from Santorini Greece . I’d like to win a bottle.
    Thanks for the draw

Despina take on Curaçao Bay reminded me of making Blue Hawaiian Cake , and later eating it on the beach and just enjoying life. The cake i do regularly in the summer, of course with blue Curaçao and rum. I wonder how the fragrance smells? Similar i think , I’d like to win the 50ml
Appreciate the 3 mini reviews, and the giveaway campaign
Enjoying my long vacation in Spain, but in 9 days I’m going back to US

  • This was a nice overview of the trio! They do all evoke summer for me, and the hard part is choosing which fun part of summer I’d like to experience! I’ve never tried anything from this house before but Cecile has made some great perfumes! I will choose Curacao Bay. I live in the USA. Thanks for the giveaway!

I know lot of the old , and all new Jacques Fath fragrances. If I have to rate my favorite ones:
    1. L’IRIS DE FATH , fragrance on a different level i had absolute blast of smelling once
    2.Velours Boisé
    3.Tempête d’Automne/Curaçao Bay
Out of the 3 fragrances in the article my rating would be:
    1. Curaçao Bay
    2. Green Water
    3. Vers Le Sud
To me Green Water is more of a Spring, rather than Summer fragrance. It’s too woody and mossy in the base to me , to wear it in high heat.
Curaçao Bay smells like a wild tropical island after the storm is over, fruity, salty , warm oceanic . My choice of the 3.
    All profiles I already follow
    Thanks a lot

Thanks for introducing these summery fragrances at this time of year. All look amazing but I am hesitant about Vers Le Sud cause I generally do not like fig. so my choice would be Curacao Bay out of the three.

    Thx I’m in EU

it’s a nice summer fragrance and I find if very wearable. I’ve wanted to sniff the new Cécile Zarokian reformulation since I started reading about it a few years back. I really enjoyed Despina’s description of how Zarokian went about making this latest version. As you might guess, if I were to win the draw, I’d want a bottle of the new Green Water. I’m in PA, USA. Thanks, as always, for the draw.
