George Sand, Colette, Casanova, Jules Verne, Hemingway and the Marquis de Sade may seem to be strange  scent companions. Yet each sits alongside the others in the select library of Gerald Ghislain, founder and Creative Director of Histoires de Parfums, where perfumes are storytellers. In 2016, when he introduced the This is Not a Blue Bottle series, M. Ghislain left the library, for an abstract art gallery where the stories of fragrance do not become known until they open on the skin. In 2018, 1.4 and 1.5 launched.

Histoires de Parfums This is not a blue bottle review

Which brings us to the newest-This is Not a  Blue Bottle 1.6.  I have been wearing it lately as its notes of sweet orange, heady jasmine, and the slightly tart yuzu and pith of grapefruit contrast and complement each other nicely. Its name surely can be “This is not a typical Citrus scent”.

We have written about the first five and in today’s CaFleureBon’s contributor video, Editor Sebastian Jara does a review

  • The big appeal to me is the slogan itself “Ceci n’est pas un flacon bleu…” I love the yuzu in perfumes, is some citric-woody stuff, blended very well. Unfortunately, I never try any of this House perfume, yet… Regards from UE

  • Another insightful review from Sebastian. I’ve only tried the first This is not a blue bottle, and I have to say the concept is very interesting. This new one sounds great for summer, citrus and not so strong white floral are made for together for the summer. I would love to try this one. Thanks for the opportunity of the giveaway. Good luck to all. Toulouse, France

  • chrisskins says:

A citrus that a gourmond guy like Sebastian likes…so far so good. I love a good citrus and haven’t hit the buy button for AG’s legendary ::Hadrien:: because I want to try something a bit different. This could be it. I have and love 1969. I live in the USA, thanks for the opportunity!

  • Oh this makes me homesick for my mother in law’s home in Santa Barbara when the orange and meyer lemons were in bloom!!! I adore orange blossom and citrus of all kind are my favorite thing I could never be without! I would be so absolutely delighted to be able to wear this in hot humid Florida, and dream of my lovely Santa Barbara!!! Thanks for the opportunity!!! Fingers crossed for this one!!!!

  • I like how this fragrance is bright and uplifting at such a difficult time with its refreshing, bittersweet quality. The opening of yuzu and grapefruit followed by the heart of orange blossom and jasmine is especially appealing to me. I am in the USA.

  • I’ve been intrigued by Histoires de Parfums and their This is Not a Blue Bottle range along with the writers series 1740 in particular. This new 1.6 version has an extra René Magritte feel with its reference becoming visualised in the design and I’m intrigued to smell the yuzu in combination with the other fruits. I’ve been craving new smells in lockdown, and have been wanting a fresh summer scent. I just have some heavy winter ones as I never got a chance to got out and get a summery freshy. Plus its hard enough to get anything of of the ordinary in Dublin. anyway fingers crossed!
ps. I’ve been loving & living vicariously through Sebastian’s reviews for the last few months stuck inside.

  • I love the concept of blue bottle with a orange touch on it, however THIS IS NOT A BLUE BOTTLE! Looks amazing! Best choice for these days.i have got histoire de parfums 1725.
    I live in the UK.

  • Thanks for the review Sebastian. I too am finding comfort in these times through fragrance!

  • The contradiction in terms ‘this is not just a citrus scent’ (for a perfume with yuzu, grapefruit and orange notes) and the name ‘this is not a blue bottle’ (for a very but bottle) both are really intriguing, and appeals a lot to me. My favorite HdP has been the ‘En aparte’ series and I look forward to discovering the ‘not a blue bottle’ series starting with this new release. Thanks! TX, USA

  • Francisco Diaz says:

I’m relevantly new to fragrances. Histoires de Parfums is a house that I have not sampled yet. I start my fragrance journey during the fall, so most of my fragrances are heavier darker scents. Since spring I’ve been sampling and purchasing lighter more brighter scents. I’m very intrigue as to how this fragrance smells. I can tell that from the video review and from what I’v read it sounds like I would like this and possibly more from Histoires de Parfums

  • Hello! I hope everyone is safe and healthy. What appealed to me is the minimalist design to the bottle. Having an artistic approach whether it is colors, shape or texture it can be very magnetic. In these times of hardships a complex citrus can turn one’s day around and attract positive energy. I am in Delray Beach Florida i am a full time cinematographer. I am new to the brand but, excited to explore the product!

  • Miguel Silva says:

Sebastian is such a great and honest reviewer and HdP is being a very nice surprise for its quality and originality! Currently wearing Fidelis… a blue, or not, bottle will surely look great next to its pinky sister! Regards from Lisbon, Portugal. Miguel

  • Naomi Sawyer says:

I have never had the chance to sample Histoires de Parfums This is Not a Blue Bottle 1.6, but anything out of the ordinary interests me, and citrus presented in an unusual fashion sounds just right for this time of year…

  • I have not tried this house, would love to try it as it is a summer scent and would be great for the current climate also love citruses gapefruit and yuzu, i am from the uk
thanks a lot for giving me the opportunity to win this bottle.

  • I enjoyed Sebastian’s review. Seems like all of the notes blend well together. I’m interested in the yuzu note. I haven’t tried any of the blue bottle series, but, if lucky, I may. Mich USA

  • Faith butler says:

I have purchased at least 4 fragrances in the past month on Sebastians recommendations, which has left my wallet empty. This is not a blue bottle 1.6 sounds like it will take me back to my childhood in California. I miss the smell of jasmine and orange blossoms. And happy memories are one thing I am desperately seeking in times like what we are all dealing with. I live in Oregon now. Pines and rain, but it is peaceful.

  • Very attractive presentation and sebastian is a great honest reviewer.I have never tried the brand before. Regards from FL USA

  • Histoires de Parfums This is Not a Blue Bottle 1.6 sounds like a beautiful scent that would be very refreshing for summer. The beautifully descriptive review makes me almost smell the bright orange and citrus notes. I’ve never tried anything from this house before but I’d love to. Thanks for the great review and the great giveaway. Commenting from Kentucky USA.

  • Trinity33 says:

Such uplifting notes! Orange, jasmine, yuzu and grapefruit pith make for a lovely citrus blend. The blue bottle is gorgeous and it seems like such a happy fragrance for the summer months. Great review as always, Sebastian! I’ve not tried any of the other fragrances in the series. Commenting from MD. USA.

  • Mirosław Florek says:

Recently I have bought two perfumes from Histoires de Parfums – Fidelis and Casanova. Both are top notch. This one seems also interesting. Sebastian review as always super interesting.
    Best wishes from Poland.

  • I love cooking but not from recipes. Over the years I grew this imagination of combinations of tastes. While reading cook books many ideas arise while ingredients mix in my mind and I make the vision I have ready IRL. when a combination surprises me I’m even more intrigued! I can definitely say that this scent presented by Sebastian of Histoires de Parfums is in that same ball park. Orange…grapefruit…. Yuzu….Jasmine….???!!! I want to smell this and add it to my olfactive collection in Belgium. I see desert….and I love deserts!

  • raymondchau says:

Jasmine and Yuzu, what’s not to like about those notes. I love freshie with white florals touch, as it is clean and elevating my mood all the time. Neroli is also a widely used note, but I would love to try it here anyway.
Thanks for the chance to get a sniff on this fragrance!
    I am living in Canada.

  • Sérgio Rodrigo Teixeira says:

Great Giveaway and video from Sebastian. I just love Citrus fragrances, and as Sebastian said, they lift my spirit everytime with the freshness and zestiness. Very curious with this one. Portugal here.

  • Kyle Gorgees says:

First I would like to say that I absolutely love citrus scents. However, I haven’t found a citrus fragrance that has been appealing enough to purchase. The thing that I enjoyed hearing was that this also has hints of floral notes as well (huge floral fragrance lover). I enjoy the simplicity of this fragrance and like that it doesn’t sound overwhelming, which is great for the summer season. I also like the wittiness of the name of this parfum, it’s almost an oxymoron. I haven’t tried any others in the series, but this one would be my first to what sounds like a delightful parfum line. I followed on Instagram and interested in seeing all the fragrance content. I live in Michigan, U.S.A. Thanks and be safe.

  • Neroli/orange blossom eau de cologne style fragrances are my favorite. Neroli Portofino and Nishane Colognise are my holy grails, but I don’t own full bottles of either. This is not a Blue Bottle 1.6 really interests me because it combines the strong neroli of Neroli Portofino with the jasmine note I love in Nishane Colognise. Then it adds a twist of yuzu, which I use all the time in cooking because it is one of the few citrus that can withstand high heat and still maintain its flavor. I also make a delicious korean yuzu-honey tea called yuja-cha, one of the best smells in the world. The Magritte reference is just icing. I’m commenting from the US.

  • I always love Sebastian’s reviews. He gives you all the information you’d need to dream of it. What I love about this are the notes. Vanilla( always love that) the citrus notes, plus it appears to be well balanced with the jasmin. I haven’t tried this or any of the blue line because I wasn’t too sure
I could as a female. I have tried Veni and Colette. Colette is my favorite. But I’d love to win this to try! Reaching out from Tennessee ❤️. Thank
    You!

  • I have wanted to try this house for a long time, and this review is a perfect reason why. I love yuzu as well as grapefruit, but I have never seen a perfume with them together and it’s sounds like a lovely combination. After rewatching many of Sebastians reviews these pst few weeks, I’ve finally found a fragrance I’d love to try! Hi from Southern Wisconsin.

  • Shamrock1313 says:

Always enjoy Sebastian’s reviews – he’s pointed me to some really great frags. I haven’t tried the house, but love when grapefruit and orange are done correctly. I’m a sucker for happy citrus frags.
    Thanks for the giveaway

  • LinePlaneVolume says:

I’ve been interested in this line and the timing is perfect, as the summer is right around the corner. Thanks for sharing! Writing from Pacific Northwest, USA.

  • HiMyNameIsWaste says:

Yuzu is one of my favorite notes; I’d love to try the scent – I’ve only smelled the original from the series.

I live in Nashville, TN, USA.

  • Tom Netherland says:

After watching Sebastian’s video review of Histoires de Parfums’ This is Not a Blue Bottle, I would love to try the fragrance. It sounds elegant yet light, summery yet substantive. It compels me to try not only that particular fragrance, but others in the line.

  • The yuzu and grapefruit opening sounds so appealing, but the white florals sound so lovely. It definitely sounds different than most of the citruses or white floral perfumes I have and it really sounds appealing! Unfortunately I haven’t tried anything from this house, but I’d love to do so at some point in time. I live in the USA. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • Hashim Madani says:

Didn’t get the opportunity to try others in the series but the jasmine note in the heart of 1.6 which Sebastian describes and how it interplays with the citrus notes sounds wonderful. VA, USA.

  • Jake Dauod says:

The thing that appeals to me most is the grapefruit. I love the note in fragrances (and the actual fruit itself is delicious) and I like that it has a unique pairing with yuzu and neroli. I like that the neroli and orange blossom play supporting roles and let other notes shine, which means that this fragrance will stand out from other neroli fragrances. I haven’t tried anything in the series, but I am quite appealed to 1.6 because I love citrus notes so much. Warm regards from Illinois, USA.

  • Yuzu is quite a refreshing citrus note in perfumes so excited to try 1.6. My fav. from HdP is 1740. USA

  • bizzare13495 says:

I love this is not a blue bottle 1.1 and 1.2, along with most of the other histories de parfum fragrances. I always love Sebations insight on a fragrance and with all that going on currently, this seems like a fragrance that’ll brighten up your day. I love in the US.

  • I must be honest. I’m new as far as stepping into the niche market. I’m the guy who goes for the popular standards. I recently purchased Atelier Cologne Pacific Lime, which has sparked interest in citrus based fragrances. I came across Sebastián’s YouTube channel and found out about This is Not A Blue Bottle .I live in Texas, so I’ve been looking for fragrances to compliment the warm weather. Based on the notes, This is Not A Blue Bottle will be a perfect summertime fragrance. Houston, Tx

  • miguelm33 says:

The citrus notes are what appeals to me, the grapefruit note in particular. I feel like this would be a great scent for the hot weather we are having. I have tried 1.1 in the blue bottle, I get patchouli and orange. Casanova is another good one from the house. I love in Bakersfield, CA. USA.

  • I a suckered for a citrus fragrance. Love the grapefruit smell. Can’t wait to try it

  • It was another great review from Sebastian, he always gives a clear idea of what the fragrances are about. Jasmine and orange blossom are one of my favorite notes and I would like to try the refreshing and uplifting combination of them with yuzu and grapefruit. The bottle looks amazing too. I haven’t tried anything from this line, but i want to. Thanks for the draw, I’m living in Germany, EU.

  • I love an atypical citrus scent , anything that makes them stand out and unique is a huge bonus.
I don’t have many yuzu fragrances so to have that paired with my favourite floral in Jasmine appeals to me most.

I’m only familiar with 1725 casanova bu them.
    I’m from Ireland, EU.

  • Andrei-Cristian Radescu says:

The idea of an uplifting fragrance during these times really apprealed to me. Also, the bottle itself really helps the effect. Greetings from Romania!

  • Orange and Jasmine are a great match, loved this eloquent review by Sebastian. And the botte looks stunning! Would love to win this. Living in the EU

  • Steliyan Syarov says:

Citrus with florals. Sounds great and I’m sure it smells beautiful. I’m really a fan of jasmin and neroli and love citruses, because they are fresh and make me feel energetic. I love to participate in the giveaway. Thanks! Much love from Austria!

  • I am a big citrus fan, then to have sweet orange, grapefruit and yuzu gets me very excited. With the tough times everyone has experienced I truly love these notes as it reminds me of the joy of summertime. Love sebastian’s review of this fragrance

  • diegopineda says:

What appealed to me is the stunning bottle, the quirky name and the nice blend of notes.

Like Sebastian, I also find myself craving more and more the citrus perfumes. The spring and summer are just perfect for these type of fragrances.

  • ElenaChiss says:

I like the concept of “This is not a blue bottle” but have not had the opportunity to try any from this series.

My favourite from this house is 1889 Moulin Rouge.

EU reader here. Thank you for the review and the draw!

  • Lovely description by Sebastian once again. First of all, I would like to say i love this bottle. Not what one would immediately think of as classy, but the bright color, the sturdy build of the bottle and the 3D pattern make it really unique.
Secondly, this perfume appeals to me especially due to the yuzu or grapefruit dimension, which I find more than welcome in citrus florals. I find lemon or bergamot get a lot of exposure, but grapefruit maybe a little bit less, and I actually think its astringent quality does wonders in the draining summer heat. I also appreciate jasmine being a prominent player and the vetiver sitting at the base. Never tried any other fragrances in this series and I am in the EU.

  • Timothy Segal says:

I really like the sound of the citruses combined with subtle flowers like Neroli and Jasmin. Coming from Belgium, I also been intrigued by the Magritte inspired concept of this series. Since is no retailer here, I have not gotten A chance to try one of the perfumes from this series, but the great review from Sebastian leaves me really curious about trying this new iteration!

  • Horatio Zhang says:

I really like yuzu and grapefruit in the opening, also white floral is one of my favorite type of notes. When Sebastian read out all the notes in this perfume, I know for sure that I am going to like this. Plus, I’m really in need of something to cheer me up. I amstudying here in the UK, and just found out few days ago that I may not be able to go back to my home country this summer due to the pandemic. Anyway, really great review as always Sebastian. I haven’t tried any fragrance from Histoires de Parfum, but their fragrances all sound very interesting and have a unique bottle design.

    From the UK

  • Sebastians subsription of this perfume really makes me want to smell it. It sounds like a great and interesting combination of notes. I like these type of scents for the Summer. Unfortunately I haven’t smelt anything from this house yet. It truly is a beautiful bottle. I live in the Netherlands.

  • Top notes are orange, yuzu and grapefruit; middle notes are orange blossom, lotus, neroli, geranium and jasmine; base notes are vetiver, vanilla and white musk. I am intrigued by all the notes especially neroli because of its calming aroma. The bottle design is out of this world. My favourite from this house is 1740.Thanks a million from the United Kingdom

  • What appeals the most is notes of orange, yuzu and grapefruit; orange blossom, lotus, neroli, geranium and jasmine; vetiver, vanilla and white musk. This sounds like a magical concoction perfect for Summer and the bottle is very beautiful. My favourite from this house is 1740. Thanks a lot from the UK

  • Fabian Kaunzner says:

The bottle looks great. I think the citruses and jasmine and other florals will be perfect for summer, looking forward to trying this one.
I´ve already tried a couple from Histoires de Parfum. I really liked 1740, such a great dirty smoky leather. Also liked 1725 with its creamy smooth lavander.
    I live in Germany.

  • Sebastian’s videos always inspire me in my quest of discovering new perfumes and this one seems perfect for the warm months ahead. Yuzu, neroli and jasmine… what else can I ask from a refreshing summer fragrance? It’s hard to imagine how it smells because Histoires de Parfums has so many original fragrances, but I am sure it would be a great olfactory experience as always. And that bottle… it’s just gorgeous!
    Vienna, Austria

  • This sounds amazing. I really like how Sebastian described it. This Is Not A Blue Bottle 1.6 sounds like a unique citrus scent with the yuzu grapefruit as well as jasmine being very prominent to go along with the orange, orange blossom, and Neroli among other notes. I also like that there is some vanilla in the base with white musk and vetiver. I really want to try this! I’ve yet to try the others from this series but this one is extremely appealing to me. I live in the U.S. Thanks for the exciting and generous draw.

Great video from Sabastian about this fragrance! It sounds Exhilarating! I definitely need this in my life!

  • Thank you for the review and the giveaway. I’ve tried and liked some fragrances from Histoires de Parfums and so far my favorite from the house is 1804 with 1725 a very close second. I also liked This is not a Blue Bottle 1.1 but found the opening a little sharp for me. I’d love to try out this iteration of the series. I’m in USA

  • This fragrance sounds very delicious. I love, love, love citrus scents. And this bottle is awesome too. Thumbs up.
    Regards from Germany

I have recently bought the Histoires de Parfums sample set incl. This Is Not A Blue Bottle 1/.1. I also bought one extra sample, which was This Is Not A Blue Bottle 1/.2. I own 2 full bottles from Histoires de Parfums: Ambre 114 + Fidelis – Édition Rare. I love them both, which is why I decided to purchase the sample set. I added the additional blue bottle sample because I am intrigued buy the whole concept of this series (incl. the beautiful and interestingly different presentation). I am sure that I will buy more perfumes from Histoires de Parfums as there has been no misses so far. I would love to add another summer scent to my small (but growing) perfume collection – something much more summery than Ambre 114 and Fidelis. And, I do like citruses a lot, so I think there’s a great chance that This Is Not A Blue Bottle 1/.2 could be yet another hit. I am from Denmark (EU).

  • Citrus and jasmine sounds like my holy grail! I haven’t tried any of the other This is Not A Blue Bottles but will seek them out. I am in the UK

  • Iuno Feronia says:

I love this perfume house and Yuzu in perfumes, it sounds very interesting and I would like to smell this scent. The name is really very funny. This would uplift my mind in these days. I live in Vienna, thanks for the draw.

  • The one I like most from this house is 1740. They have nice perfumes that are of high quality. I wonder how they interpret the citrus. Sebastian seems to be very enthusiastic about it. I am sure this one will be a hit. I am in EU. Danke!

I havent smelled unfortunately anything from this brand. It is not so popular here in Germany and not easy to find. But i sounds like a great summer fresh uplifting senty would love to try it.

  • Jordy Willems says:

Very uplifting fragrance with a lot of citrus. I always love orange in a perfume it is very uplifting. It is just pretty hard to come by at the moment. Says enough about the fragrance right!

  • Disneydad says:

I think Sebastian is on to something about citrus being uplifting. I too have been wearing uplifting fragrances lately even though I’m not going out socially. I find neroli especially to be a happy smell. So this appeals to me as a way to improve my mood. The bottle also looks interesting with the optical illusion printed on that matte blue. I look forward to trying it. I’m in IL, USA.

  • I have not tried the others in the series. Yuzu is a note I wear well in warm/hot weather. Coupled with grapefruit here makes this one I’ like to try.
    USA

  • Loved Sebastian’s review, very sweet! I love orange blossom, and this sounds like a lovely combo of notes, and I also like how Sebastian noted how uplifting it is for him, as I could really use that right now. I don’t think I’ve tried anything else by this house, and would enjoy this! Thank you for the review, and for the draw!

  • Armando Esparza says:

Firstly, the bottle. Wow is it gorgeous! Secondly, the concoction of many notes like orange blossom, neroli and grapefruit working together instead standing out on their own, really intrigues me. Especially in times like these, one would benefit from having their day brightened with an effervescent fragrance such as Histoires de Parfum’s This is not a Blue Bottle 1.6.
    California USA.

  • Sebastian didn’t sound super-enthused about this one but it sounded great to me. I love grapefruit and he’s right we all need an uplifting citrus scent right about now. I live in KS, US.

  • Haven’t had the chance to try this one yet, but based on the description this one should be very nice. 1899 Hemingway and Ambre 114 didn’t disappoint me,, I’m pretty sure this one won’t let me down.
    From UE (Romania)

  • This is a very happy and uplifting review from Sebastiane to perfectly reflect ‘This Is Not A Blue Bottle 1.6’.
I love fruity and floral notes; The grapefruit and jasmine sound like they make a wonderful combination for a lovely summer scent.
The base notes of Vetiver, Vanilla and White Musk are simply perfect to keep this a long lasting sexy fragrance.

Unfortunately, I have not tried any of the fragrances of Histoires the Parfums

    Thank you for the draw.

  • Omar Tekari says:

I live in italy and I can’t believe it i smell this perfume just yesterday and I believe that this is not a blue bottle collection is very different from the classic HDP perfumes that I find very classic and ” colonia” kind of “old blended” , 1.6 I found it very particular unique as well as 1.5 very sparkling and lively excellent histoire de parfum collection

  • MisterBond68 says:

As always very nice review from Sebastian. I like the diversity of notes from citrus to white musk

  • The orange sweetness immediately followed by the grapefruit bitterness – that’s something interesting going on there, in the [not] blue bottle 🙂
Haven’t sniffed any of the blue series, not yet, anyway.
    Living in EU.

  • “this is not just a citrus scent’ (for a perfume with yuzu, grapefruit and orange notes) and the name ‘this is not a blue bottle’ (for a very but bottle) both are really intriguing, and appeals a lot to me. • Outstanding review by Sebastian. The grapefruit and Yuzu with Jasmine creating a unique scent. This is not a typical Citrus scent is very well said. I have not tried any from the series, O do I need this happiness in my life. Thanks for the draw. I am in the USA.

  • mleenstra says:

I have a difficult relationship with citrus scents; they are so easy to wear in Spring Summer season and often a crowdpleaser, but they can be a bit same-ish and are often not all that different from one another. But some citrus fragrances are definite flankers and don’t behave like you think they will. I recently had this with Fluffy Lemon Top by 4160 Tuesdays which pleasantly surprised me. I think this sounds like one of those as well; a citrus with attitude. Would love to try. Marit UK

  • From Sebastian’s review, This is Not a Blue Bottle 1.6 certainly seems to be cheerful and uplifting, with the citrus and floral notes. Haven’t tried the other offerings from this house, yet. Thanks for the draw and the review. Writing from USA.

  • wagnerflo says:

Citrus scents are giving me a hard time. I do love the small of basically all fruits of this family, but often fragrances of that time are simply too tart and stinging (especially in the opening) to me.

The few flowery citrus fragrances that I’ve smelled, tough, were much better in this regard. Putting flowers as a contrapoint to the tartness of the citruses seems to make my nose happy. The sweet orange here sounds like it could be even better.

Please enter me in the draw. I’m from Germany and haven’t heard of the This is Not a Blue Bottle, yet.

  • Thanks Sebastian for this very beautiful video-review!
I’m familiar Histoires de Parfums perfumes and their This is Not a Blue Bottle range is amazing, especially I love 1.1 and 1.3. this 1.6 sounds very beautiful.

I love citrus, so anything with citrus piques my curiosity. This one sounds lovely!

I love Histoire de Parfums – as I love stories! And this house delivers – tales about famous characters, mythical years, poems and music. The name sparks my interest “This is Not A Blue Bottle” and it seems to be a perfect scent for summer. Thanks for the draw, greetings from Romania.

  • Same as Sebastian Jara “everything about the citrus makes me happy”. 1.6 sound just about right for me, because I really could use something uplifting these days. Thank you for this wonderful draw Histoires de Parfums and CaFleurebon. I live in EU.

  • The notes seem right up my alley. I haven’t tried other fragrances in the series, but Histories seems like a very interesting brand to delve more into.

    I am from Finland.

  • Jeff Ensley says:

I am really into yuzu because the sharp citrus note really cuts through the summer heat. The use of jasmine in the mid seems like it would smooth it out a bit. I have only tried the first two This Is Not A Blue Bottle fragrances. Didn’t know there was a 1.6 version. Bring it on! Living in Kansas, USA.

  • doveskylark says:

I really felt uplifted watching Sebastian’s review. This fragrance also sounds uplifting. I always get revived and rejuvenated by yuzu and grapefruit.
I haven’t tried any of the others in this series.
    I live in the USA.

  • The combination of yuzu and jasmine sounds appealing here.
I haven’t had the chance to try any of This Is Not a Blue Bottle series.
    Greetings from Aalborg, Denmark!

  • I am intrigued by this description, even more I like most of HdP, especially 1740 and 1.1. Yuzu, grapefruit and jasmine- sounds very appealing.

Another wonderful and helpful review from Sebastian. I’ve only tried the first This is not a blue bottle, and I have to say the concept is very interesting. This new one sounds great for summer, citrus and not so strong white floral are made for together for the summer. I would love to try this one. Thanks for the opportunity of the giveaway.

    Regards
    Sunny

  • I’m a fan of this house but I tend to ignore citrus fragrances. As usual, Sebastian has convinced me that I need to give this one a try. The jasmine/yuzu/grapfruit sounds interesting and I can’t argue that we all need something uplifting right now. I’m in the US, thank you for another great review & draw!

  • Michael Prince says:

Sebastian, great review of Histoires de Parfums This is Not a Blue Bottle 1.6. This sounds like a beautiful, fresh, and unique fragrance. Jasmine and sweet orange contrasting with a tart yuzu and grapefruit notes. I also love the bottle design with the beautiful royal blue color with that sweet orange and peel on the front. I haven’t any of the other fragrances in this series. I am from the USA.

I am always looking for the perfect citrus fragrance and perhaps not a citrus fragrance may be what I like best. I have one of Histoires de Parfums and like it very much. Thanks to Sebastian for his review and thank you for the generous draw. I’m in the USA

  • Bryant Worley says:

I haven’t tried any Histoires yet but, hopefully, this will be my first. This is a unique fragrance, highlighted by this statement: Its name surely can be “This is not a typical Citrus scent”.

And this is true. The combination of sweet orange, heady jasmine, and the slightly tart yuzu and pith of grapefruit makes this sound quite appealing and refreshing. And I hope I can get it on my skin this summer. I live in Waldorf, MD, USA.

I’ve heard the name Histoires de Parfums, but finally when I read the last article on Cafleurebon, I decided to get a sample.
Ambre 114 got my attention from Alexandre Helwani picks, classic amber it is , also last over 7 hours.
Fresh citrus fragrance, with florals and vetiver, such fragrances like 1.6 are always welcome in my life.

  • Growing up in Asia, I had a lot of chance to eat yuzu. I was mostly given a yuzu tea when I caught cold as a remedy and it always tasted better than the cold syrups. For this reason yuzu is a special citirc fruit/note for me, and I would love to win a chance try this fragrance to revisit my memories again.

Multifaceted fragrances I appreciate a lot. I like 1.6 is not some boring fresh scent, but jasmine and vanilla is making it more unique. Even Sebastian mentioned that.
Edition Rare Fidelis could potentially be my favorite Histoires de Parfums , oud, coffee and raspberry, and it’s made by Julien Rasquinet an awesome perfumer.
    Thanks a lot.
    Cheers from VA

I’ve mentioned it already, but as a Pastry Chef I relate all fragrances to some kind of food, being cakes and desserts , or savory dishes.
French Lemon Cake with Lemon Glaze I what I imagine right now, after watching Sebastian video. Not only tastes , but also smells great – tart , fresh and uplifting , exactly how I imagine 1.6 to smell.
Appreciate the review and the giveaway campaign

  • Interesting transition This is not a Blue Bottle 1.6 has . From sweet citrus, to jasmine, to vetiver and musk. Summer is coming forward with it .
I have no experience with Histories de Parfums. Except for This is not a Blue Bottle 1.6 i want to try Parfums Ambre 114 , and also Hemingway.
    Thanks for the draw

I know Histoires de Parfums because of 1725 , one of the most unusual fougeres in my possession. It’s hard to describe , half classic old school aromatic fougere , half gourmand. It’s sweet, but lavender and anise balancing the vanilla, almond and cinnamon well.
What appealed to me in Sebastian description is the fact This is not a Blue Bottle1.6 is pleasing , but yey not one dimensional, and it changes from the start to the base.
Like I said 1725 is my my favorite Histoires de Parfums, This is not a Blue Bottle line i do not know.
    Thanks , in US

Nice melange of citruses + white flower + musk and a little bit of vanilla. Enjoyable fragrance, with a flirty twist . I’l make sure to check it out.
I have smelled all from the Blue Collection prior to 1.6 , and to me 1.3 is the best one. Overall Noir Patchouli is favorite Histoires de Parfums fragrance.
Already follow on @cafleurebon , @lookfeelsmellgreat and @histoiresdeparfums on Instagram. Thanks for the review and the opportunity .

  • The transition from the start to the base sounds wonderful , all the aspects of orange tree , the freshness , the jasmine . Sounds really nice , the new 1.6.
Received Parfum de Revolte 1969 from my brother for my last birthday, beautiful peaches and chocolate combination, with patchouli and rum . My favorite, up until now of course.
Thank you Sebastian and Histoires de Parfums. In USA

To me it’s very simple, I love this happy Cobalt-Blue opaque with orange points details, it’s very nice and modern style. Fragragrance is very unique concoction: neroli orange blossom, Jasmine and fruity combination, bitter sweet, fresh and uplifting!!! Sounds super nice! I’m in USA, FL.

Oh my god would love to get my nose round this it sounds so amazing it has that amazing orange vibe that I love the closet that I have is shay and blue but I guess it’s not a patch on the master peice. Here’s hoping from the Netherlands that I could be blessed with a bottle of this master piece. Unfortunately I’ve never been able try this niche house beacause I live in the middle of nowhere and to find such fragrances is quite a bit of struggle be here’s hoping

I am drawn to the originality of both the scents and presentation of Histoires de Parfums in general. I love the contrast of colors on the This is Not a Blue Bottle 1.6 vessel. I look foward to experiencing the scent as well.
