Histoires De Parfums Irrévérent Review + En Aparte Fragrance Draw

Gérald Ghislain, the founder and Creative Director of Histoires de Parfums announced the En Aparté,  a trilogy of fragrances meant to evoke stories in scent the way books evoke emotions in November.

With this collection, which includes Irrévérent, Prolixe and Outrecuidant, M. Ghislain's intent is to reinvent ‘classic’ olfactive categories in unconventional ways. He enlisted three perfumers (Luca Maffei, Julien Rasquinet and Fanny Bal, giving them each the freedom to express them by breaking rules of classic perfumery.

Luca Maffei, award-winning perfumer is from Milan

Luca Maffei, (who was just featured in our CaFleureBon Best Perfumes of 2017), composed Histoires de Parfums Irrévérent, which is a resinous oriental. The Histoires De Parfums En Aparte collection is sold out and not available in the U.S.A. yet; we were very fortunate to obtain samples of all three for a draw.

  • I think that Sebastian has a great taste which is similar to mine, so I am sure that I will enjoy that fragrance. I heve never tried any offerings from this house.

  • The description of Histories de Parfum by Sebastian are delicious. I have been wanting to try 1740 and 1899. they are well crafted and well blended. Great review. Irreverent sounds very good. Thank you Sebastian and Cafleurebon for the opportunity.

  • Ambre 114 is my favorite from Histories de Parfum, though there are many others that I want to get my nose on. I like that Sebastian stressed how resinous and dark this fragrance is, but also noted that it does have facets that are bright. I agree, for the weather it sounds like a perfect release! Love Sebastian’s channel!

  • Amber is one of my favorite scents, so Ambre 14 would be perfect for me. Specially if Sebastian describes it as dark and rich in the resin of it. Sounds elegant and classy! My cup of tea. Thanks AGAIN Sebastian and Cafleurebon!

  • Irrévérent seems to be a resinous creation, suited to cold weather. I have many from HDP including their earliest version of 1725 with that heavy metal cap. My fav. in the line is also 1725. thanks for the draw. I am in US.

  • The combination of resins with coffee, lavender and bergamot sounds incredible. I’m in the USA. Current favorite HdP fragrance is 1899.

  • Another nice review by Sebastian. These three sound great. Hope to get a chance to try them. 1899 is probably my favorite so far. Thanks

  • Great review. The combination of Oud, Coffee, and Styrax in the middle notes sounds tantalizing! And it too is winter here, so I am all about the heavy resinous fragrances. My favorite HdP is currently Ambre 114. I live in the US.

  • Always love Sebastian’s reviews. He always looks like he’s having fun as well. I don’t have a favorite, but I’m interested to try them. Thanks for the draw. I’m in the USA

What I enjoyed about Sebastian’s video is he introduced me to a new line of Histoires de Parfums. I own a small bottle of 1828, and I also enjoy 1899. Both perform very well for me.

  • Great review, thank you Sebasian and Cafleurebon. I like HdP mostly 1740 , I have 1828 too. 1740 is unique.

  • I love Sebastian’s reviews, he really seems to understand and be able to speak to the different scents. I would love to sample ALL of the Histoires de Parfums scents. I have only tried a couple – but have a bottle of 1873, I love it!
Thanks for the draw, I’ in the US.

What I enjoyed about Sebastian’s review is how he described this fragrance. It envoked images of this bottle on a cold winters day. My favorite from this house is 1740 marquis de sade. Thanks for the opportunity. New York, USA.

  • I am a brand new subscriber and am vey glad I joined! I love Histoires de Parfums and appreciate how Sebastian spoke of the heartiness and depth of Irreverant (due to the elemi and styrax resins) and how the supporting lavender, coffee, and amber brighten up the heavy blend. My favorite Histoires scent is Fidelis, but I also love 1969. Thank you for the opportunity and I look forward to more reviews:)

  • I’ve never smelled anything from this perfume house before. I love Sebastian’s reviews because he always makes me want to run out and buy whatever he’s reviewing!

My favorite HISTOIRES DE PARFUMS fragrance is Ambre 114. I haven’t smelt Irrévérent, Prolixe or Outrecuidant. Sebastian’s review is very intriguing the way he describes the breakdown it sounds amazing.

  • Coincidentally I have just ordered a trial set of the 10 original fragrances. I had testers of them all but they were from pre-reformulation several years ago. I also have a bottle of the original Eugenie which I think is the year 1824? I really like it but will have to see what I think of the newer version. (new being a relative term, I think the reformulations go back at least five years). Sebastian’s description of these new scents sound very interesting. Thank you for the review and the draw. I am in USA.

i love resins, lavender, and coffee fragrances, so I am sure I’d like this one. I love 1740 from this line, as well as the one that honors Jules Verne (I forgot the year). I love anything that unites perfume and literature.
