Headspace Parfums Kirsch Review (Paul Guerlain) 2023 + New Year’s Eve Kiss Giveaway

Headspace Parfums Kirsch

J’s image of Headspace Parfums Kirsch

Headspace Parfums don’t just capture the object named on the flacon; rather they capture moments and feelings in time and space, using technology as a tool allowing the perfumer to weave some perfumed poetry. My first experience of Headspace was blind sniffing though their discovery set, having only the brands name to go on, I was expecting a photo realistic perfume, rather I got a beautiful journey from first spray, till the final lingering whisper of the story. The Absinthe smelled like absinthe and then the wild haze of the green fairy, as did Genievre but in more relaxed way, it smelled like glass of Genievre from the first sip to the end as you felt the ice melt. My initial favourites though were Santal; a wild berry champagne poured over naked flesh and enjoyed. Tubereuse; a plump sensual flower all sultry and smooth enjoying a cigarette post sex and finally Myrrhe; a beautiful escape from all the wildness to a Zen like retreat by the sea. Then Kirsch the most recent release swooped in and stole my heart. No surprise that Headspace Parfums Kirsch was in my Top 10 perfumes of 2023.

Paul Guerlain composed Headspace Parfums Kirsch

Founder Nicolas Chabot and Paul Guerlain of IFF

I’m very particular with fruit perfumes especially cherry and Headspace Parfums Kirsch delivers a stunning dark sour cherry wearing a soft leather jacket, shimmering with an iridescent sake aura and gentle flirty purr, which gives me a wonderful feeling words can’t quite capture, you know that electric wildness when sparks fly inside. Perfumer Paul Guerlain, under the creative direction of Nicolas Chabot, set out to capture the feeling of a first date and he did it stunningly. Kirsch opens with a powerful first attraction then dries down like a beautiful flirty conversation over drinks getting to know some one better. It captures that fun sexual tension when things are going really well, with just enough of an animalic purr to make you pull closer and want more. It’s like that anticipation of that first kiss on New Years Eve.

 Kirsch by Headspace Parfums

Screen Shot of Sherilyn Fenn as Audrey Horne in Twin Peaks 1990 mixing a cocktail

Headspace Parfums Kirsch presents a unique experience, pouring you a tall glass of black sour cherry liquor that exudes an enchanting aura effervescing with Japanese Ume sake. Imagine a captivating blend of deep reds and purples, with delicate Sakura flowers adorning the edges like a silky floral kimono. The richness of the fruitiness is both tantalizing and alluring, offering a sensual bite of dark cherry that is simultaneously soft and bold. It makes me think of Audrey Horne from Twin Peaks and that famous scene in One Eyed Jacks where she’s tying a cherry stalk into a bow with her tongue. Kirsch is sweet and tart in the best way, like playful banter across the table with lingering looks. Iris teases out a sensual softness with a rich saffron leather giving a refined elegant smooth leather texture that darkens the cherry’s already rich red tone and yet there’s a beautiful counterpoint, something rather ethereal with the plumy fruity sake effervescing that’s hard to describe fully. That sensation of a delicious delicate sake that perfumes your mouth like a kiss as it slowly rolls down your throat. It’s hard to fully describe the experience of Kirsch, as things are evolving simultaneously; its evolution is like a slow dance of soft and tough elements, forming an elegant movement.

Soft spices emit a warm and intoxicating aura, enveloping your senses like a comforting embrace. It’s as if you’re sipping on warm sake, the heat spreading through your body, while your eyes lock in a lingering gaze. The delicate porcelain vessel cradles its essence, enhancing its allure. Saffron adds a touch of opulence, unveiling a floral richness that gradually blossoms into an impossible cherry blossom, if only real Sakura had the scent of cherries. Ambroxan, with its enchanting spell, unfurls this impossible flower that seems to shimmer around you, turning Headspace Parfums Kirsch into a gentle cloud of fragrance. Abstract woody notes are painted like Japanese watercolours, brush strokes evoking the sensation of the sake’s wooden drinking vessels. It’s like a soft brushstroke of aromas, enough to transport you into a dreamlike state. Oakmoss introduces a soft green texture, with an earthy undertone, as if you can sense the flesh of a cherry being torn open, its dark scent shimmering with an iridescent glow. As the fragrance evolves, more darker leather facets emerge, adding more depth to this olfactory journey.

Headspace Kirsch possesses an undeniable sexiness, exuding confidence with its intoxicating blend of leather and a playful aura of sweet, mysterious allure. It teases the senses with a dark, effervescent sensation, shimmering with delicious pleasures. Evoking a hint of animalistic charm, it playfully winks and seductively bites its lower lip, exuding a captivating depth that effortlessly dances on the skin, leaving a trail of intrigue. It tantalisingly flirts with those in its proximity, slipping through their grasp, leaving them yearning for more, flashing its deep cherry sweetness from beneath its dark leather coat. Yet Kirsch goes home with you, with dark cherry kisses still haunting your skin until the next day.

  • Happy New Year!

Kirsch appears to be an intricate fragrance, capturing not just the essence of cherry but a tapestry of emotions, moments, and sensual experiences. I like that J introduces it as a blend of sultry sophistication, playful flirtation, and an intricate dance between dark cherry, leather, and nuanced spices. And I also think that this fragrance would fit Audrey Horne so well! It all sounds so wonderful and inviting!

  • Cherry and leather together!? Sign me up. I love both of those notes individually, but when they are combined it creates something truly magical and undeniably sexy. I’ve been wanting to try some Headspace offerings, but now I MUST try them out. I just love everything about J’s description of this one. The dark fruitiness, the sweet tone, the spices, and the dark leather have me salivating. Best of luck to everyone. I live in NC, USA.

  • Happy new year to everyone!

I would like to win this quite unique fragrance between dry-leathery, airy-cherry-floral, fresh-sour and slightly spicy with a hint of booze, joined by spicy saffron and enveloped by the warm and woody tones of oakmoss absolute and ambrox.

  • I have yet to find the perfect cherry perfume and this one sounds so sexy. Olala~

I love Japanese Ume sake and I bet it smells intoxicating in a perfume. And the fact there’s Iris in here is just perfect. I believe this is THE perfume of my dreams.

Happy New Year! From Seattle WA, USA

  • In maryland. I’m so intrigued after this was on the best of 2023 list, but even more so when Sherilyn Fenn is compared to it. She was the quintessential sexpot of the show and I’d love to have that vibe.

  • whimsical diva says:

Cherry has become something of a trendy note in the recent years. We see it show up in both designer and niche lines. Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry (very fleeting for the price) started the trend, but a lot of lackluster cherry scents have started cropping up. Headspace’s cherry take sounds incredibly intriguing, especially the boozy, sexy cherry note. I’ve liked some of Paul Guerlain’s works, including Neroli Nasimba, so very curious about this. I’d love to enter the draw. I live in the US.

What a lovely review to read right before heading out for my New Year’s Eve plans! Headspace is a brand I have yet to try but have been eyeing their discovery set for a minute. Your review of Kirsch continues to rev my anticipation. A twin peaks reference and the woozy sake quality have me so intrigued. With the saturation of cherry scents recently I have yet to experience one that has worked for me, but Kirsch just might be it.

    Happy New Year, y’all!

    I’m in VA, USA.

  • sillage4ever says:

Ever since Guerlain’s Black Perfecto by La Petite Robe Noir I have adored the combination of cherry and leather. It’s a sexy scent and Kirsch’s added booziness makes it seem even sexier.

I’m in the USA, Happy New Year and thanks for the generous drawing.

  • Happy new year! Kirsch sounds so alluring just from J’s description! A sweet fruity leather from what I can understand. Maybe for those who aren’t leather fans go like “there’s leather in here? but that sweet fruitiness is so inviting.” Adding to it’s coziness is the amber which as an amber lover, I’d like to add this bottle to my growing golden collection. From Portland OR.

  • Happy New Year everyone! Kirsch is a perfume that strikes me as a complex and sophisticated blend of fruity, floral, and woody notes. Kirsch is discribed as a “sensual and intoxicating” fragrance that evokes the image of a “dark cherry orchard at night” and I absolutely love that! I live in Trzebnica, Poland, EU.

  • A sake aura with rum and the cherry accord, just the description sounds like Guerlain and Chabot were trying to capture. On paper, this is drawing me in. From NY.

  • What a gorgeous review! I just finished going through my discovery set from this brand (thanks to some rave reviews on here) and really enjoyed them all but especially Tubereuse and Absinthe. But maybe Kirsch is even better since I do adore a deep boozy cherry note! Sounds perfect to start off the new year! Thanks for the draw. US

  • The screen shots from Twin Peaks got me right into that bizarre atmosphere where our deepest dreams may become reality. “It teases the senses with a dark, effervescent sensation, shimmering with delicious pleasures.”
I would love to try Headspace Parfums Kirsch.
    Hugs from Romania

  • I find the brand interesting and would like to experience their Santal, Absinthe, Myrrhe and Kirsch perfumes. Kirsch sounds delicious with its red fruits, cherry and rum accords. Black sour cherry liquor with playful aura. Greetings from EU, and happy new year!

  • Nikolina_84 says:

Anything cherry related is my cup pf tea, so sure this sounds perfect!
Based on this review, this really sparked my interest: “The richness of the fruitiness is both tantalizing and alluring, offering a sensual bite of dark cherry that is simultaneously soft and bold.
Abstract woody notes are painted like Japanese watercolours, brush strokes evoking the sensation of the sake’s wooden drinking vessels.”

I cannot agree more, I was sent a sample of Kirsch from Headspace and was very excited to delve into its darkly delicious folds, it is a very grown -up flirtation. A wonderful write -up, J. Thank you and I would be thrilled to own this bottle, well you can never have enough of a good thing. Thank you, I live in SW France

    Happy new year!
Cherry and leather sound gournand, misterios, sexi and dark in the some time!
    I am verry curious!

  • I have a love/hate relationships wihh the leather in perfumery – traditional leathers feel too harsh, and sweetened leather (be at fruitty or sugary) are too childish. Kirsch might just be a good compromise between the leather and fruit – I liked the description of a ‘Kirsch wearing a leather jacket’!!
    I am in the US

  • Combination of leather and cherry sounds irresistible. I gotta get my paws on it.
    I am in the US

  • Happy New Year!
Not a fan of sweet fruity florals and luckily this doesn’t seem to be one at all. I mean “delivers a stunning dark sour cherry wearing a soft leather jacket” and Twin Peaks mention – leathery dark cherry even sounds like something I would really like to try. Pretty sure doesn’t have anything to do with Tuscan Leather, but the fruity dusty leather is something I dig a lot and haven’t tried anything remotely similar to what this is described.
Thanks, I am in the EU.

  • I’m struck by this phrase, “stunning dark sour cherry wearing a soft leather jacket”. US

  • Leather and cherry sound amazing together. I’m interested in the effervescence at play, as well. US

  • Kirsch goes home with you, with dark cherry kisses still haunting your skin until the next day.
That is all I need to hear.
    Sounds like a winner.
    Can’t wait to smell.

  • Thank you for this review. This review makes me long for a cherry fragrance that hits the spot between the playful tartness of the fruit and a spicy sensual underbelly. Long time reader from Florida, US.

  • Have never tried Headspace perfumes, but what an article to tempt my interest! Such an intricate evaluation of the Kirsch fragrance – it sounds like a perfume to spend some time with. I am a big fan of both cherry and sake, would love to try this rendition that highlights both notes. And now I am also intrigued to look into Tubereuse and Myrrhe…. Thank you for this generous draw. I live in NH, USA.

  • Happy New Year to Everyone! Kirsch sounds very good and interesting from the base of the review. Thank you for the draw. I live in Europe.

  • I’m very particular with fruit perfumes too, especially cherry! It’s hard to find a (good) cherry perfume because it’s such an overlooked note and more often than not it smells very synthetic! I only like one cherry perfume and, “lucky” me, it’s not on the market anymore! I’m talking about Hiroshima Mon Amour by Nez a Nez. If anyone ever has the chance to give it a sniff, don’t miss it! Kirsch Headspace looks like it could be my only possible cherry love. I’d love to win this bottle! Thank you for the opportunity! From EU

  • I’ve been really into leather lately, and the cherry element sounds like such a fun twist! I love Audrey Horn in twin peaks so saying that Headspace Kirsch has the vibe basically means I’m hooked haha. J’s reviews is amazing and evocative as always. Would love to try this one! I’m in MN, USA.

  • If I have to guess Paul Guerlain is somehow connected to Guerlain family, correct?
Headspace Parfums is a new niche brand I was not aware of, J Wearescentient short overview was very helpful.
Kirsch is quite a complex fragrance, variety of different beverages, cherries, leather jackets and a slow dance with a desirable partner. Delicious and playful fragrance according to J.
Thanks to him ,and for the giveaway

  • Big fan of this brand especially Genievre and Myhrre. I would love to find Kirsch, because cherry perfumes like j wrote can be difficult. If kirsch made his top ten that’s all I need to know. You had me at dark Cherry liquor and leather. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

    USA

  • The imagery Kirsch presents, pouring you a tall glass of black sour cherry liquor that exudes an enchanting aura effervescing with Japanese Ume sake sounds tempting. The deep cherry sweetness harmoniously blended with the dark leather facet is a nice combination. Thank you for the opportunity. New York, USA.

  • Woah there J, this was a journey through time and space to a cherry coloured Twin Peaks lounge where I am thinking of changing my name to : Iridescent Sake Aura.

OK?! But wow, I’ve got to checkout this Headspace. Please enter me in thee draw. I live in the U, the S, and especially the A.

  • I was lucky enough to try out some of the Headspace perfumes where I live. Myrrh was my absolute favorite of all the ones I tried, yet Kirsch wasn’t available at the time. After reading J’s review I look forward to exploring the combination of the soft spices and the fruit fresh side of fruit and cherries. Many thanks for this draw. I live in France, the EU.

  • I have to try this because everything with cherry is like a magnet to me.
I like how Kirsch possesses an undeniable sexiness, exuding confidence with its intoxicating blend of leather and a playful aura of sweet, mysterious allure.
That’s something I really want on my skin.

  • I’m so hyped about Kirsch! I definitely must find a way to sample it, it sounds right up my alley. Not one note sounds indifferent to me: sour cherry (liquor), saffron, leather, iris…what’s there not to love?
The playfulness and sensuality of this perfume transpire clearly from J’s skillfully written article.
    I live in the EU.
    Thanks and Happy New Year!

  • FragranceIsMe says:

Kirsch seems to bring complexity with a sexy, fun profile. The fruitiness appears playful while the leather, oakmoss and slight booziness brings a touch of a bad boy sophistication. I like that! Plus, the performance sounds wonderful.
    USA

  • What strikes me about this review is quite simply, the “dark sour cherry wearing a soft leather jacket.” No medicine or sweet cherry lip balm here! Just sexy, earthy liquory cherry. Yes, I’d love to try that! I live in the U.S

  • Loving the Twin Peaks nods! I am glad to see luckyscbet has samples. I havent treid too many cherry topped perfumes but love the cherry like tobacco notes. This sounds delicious with the rum and leather. I live in the US

  • I liked a lot the fact that you associated Kirsch to Audrey. Funny to imagine her with a bottle of sake. Anyway, I totally get it! Even if Amaranthvs already did something similar 😉 on a clean side, I’d say. I’m pretty curious about this one!

    I am from EU.

  • This sounds delicious. Boozy cherry and warm and woody leather and oakmoss framed by spicy saffron. The combination sounds somewhat innocent but sexy as all get out. What a way to start the new year! I’m in MD, USA.

  • I like learning about new things, and in particular fragrance brands, it seems like I’d enjoy Headspace Parfums Absinthe, Santal ,Myrrhe too and not just Kirsch. J Wearescentient observations on the fragrance are based on dark sour cherry liquor, leather jacket, captivating depth with some seductive touches.
I’d like Kirsch to go home with me
Thank you for your Headspace Parfums Kirsch observations, and the generosity

  • Regis Monkton says:

I’ve been interested in trying something from Headspace Parfums ever since I heard Cafleurebon mention them in their blog. Kirsch seems like something I’d like to try. Dark cherries are some of my favorite fruits to eat, and I’m interested in trying a fragrance which has them in combination with a leather accord. I like to hear about the saffron in combination with the floral richness. According to J’s review, Kirsch sounds very interesting and enticing, and I’d love to win a bottle of it. I live in the U.S.A.

  • With notes of cherry, rum, iris and leather – Kirsch sounds like a potential signature scent, if you ask me. I would love to try it as I see some potential here. Thanks!

  • Taleofarose says:

I’ve always loved sour cherries. Liquor comes to mind (famous Ginjinha in Portugal). Not necessarily have I thought of them as the core, and the attraction of a perfume. After reading J’s review I have this image of a sour cherry wearing a leather jacket on a motorcycle going on a first date, wind pushing against the skin, heat spreading through its flesh. I wonder now how this image translates into a scent.

    I live in Lisbon, Portugal

  • Tween Peaks ? Talking about throwback series
Such s great take , I was totally not expecting Tween Peaks , but it works out well with the plummy sake , dark cherries and the sexy suede leather in J Wearescentient article. Headspace Parfums Kirsch is so sophisticated , with nice balance between the ingredients, partially seductive and partially mysterious.
    Thanks to all involved
    Germany

  • J’s description of Kirsh evokes a dark, flirty, inviting, seductive, mysterious seduction to me. One that is non-attachment yet willing to go home and spend the night keeping you warmly embraced and still there to greet you in the morning with a smile. One worth revisiting every chance you get.
    I am in the USA.

  • Headspace Parfums seems to have a really vibrant lineup and is doing very interesting perfumery. Kirsch sounds more sour, more complex, and more textured than many gourmands, combining the cherry with both a rich leather and “ethereal” sake accord. The Ambroxan and oakmoss seem to be doing a lot of work here, adding expansiveness and counterbalance. This sounds like my kind of cherry scent and I really need to try this brand eventually. Great review, J. Happy new year!

    I’m in the USA.

  • wallygator88 says:

    Thanks for the fun review!

I enjoyed reading about Headspace Parfums’ Kirsch, offering a sensory journey akin to electric excitement in a first encounter. The blend of dark cherry liquor and Japanese Ume sake, crafting a vibrant red aura reminiscent of Audrey Horne’s allure from Twin Peaks, vivid notes like iris, saffron leather, and plumy sake effervescence and the fragrance’s evolution like a dance of soft and tough elements, culminating in an enchanting symphony, vividly captures Kirsch’s complexities, sensuality, and captivating allure.

I would love to sample this.

    Cheers from WI, USA

I love this description of Kirsch — & am very drawn to those facets, rounding out the cherry, of saffron, iris, ambroxan, all notes which I adore. This winter especially I find myself very stuck to saffron; I’d be so happy to get to try this fragrance. Happy new year to everyone —

    with best wishes, from MA.

Oh wow… This sounds so me. The moment J Wearescentient likened Kirsch to the emotions accompanying a first date, I was sold. This reminded me of a Guerlain perfume I wore to one of the very first dates with my SO since it has both cherry and leather. And to no surprise, my partner remembers it fondly. The way J Wearescentient describes Kirsch as “sweet and tart in the best way, like playful banter across the table with lingering looks”, I can only swoon. Absolutely love the notes, curious of the iris, rum and saffron combo – it sounds just exquisite to me. Thank you from the EU

  • I’m new to Headspace Parfums but I’m already intrigued, and it’s not just Kirsch, all other offerings do sound really nice too , especially Santal.
I’d like to win Kirsch due to stunning dark cherries wearing a soft leather jacket , and the playful aura comparison.
It has been a pleasure learning about Kirsch from the talanted J @wearescentient , I’m a fan of beautiful things, complex fruity leather and as a whole stunning creations.
    Much obliged

  • It’s fascinating how Headspace Parfums Kirsch presentation is a bit minimalistic, yet the fragrance is so lavish and full of vitality.

Kirsch is a captivating fragrance, weaving together the essence of cherry with emotions, moments, and sensual experiences.. The mention of oakmoss adds a touch of earthiness, enhancing the overall appeal. I live in Austria

  • Discovering Headspace Parfums through J Wearescentient’s concise overview was enlightening. Kirsch, a multifaceted fragrance, unfolds with a mix of various beverages, cherries, leather nuances, creating a delightful and playful composition. • The cherry and rum accords strikes me the most leaving me to believe this will be better than L’Homme Ideal (which is not easy to do imo). Only have a few scents with cherry so looking forward to see if this can be added to collection. Excellent review also.

The notes of cherry, leather, and saffron sound incredibly sexy. I like J Wearescentient’s description of Kirsch having an “evolution like a slow dance of soft and tough elements.” What beautiful prose! There are a lot of cherry scents on the market these days, but Kirsch sounds like the best.

  • Hey Headspace Parfums giveaway , I own the discovery set
Just a quick note, on the second and fourth picture it’s the 100ml bottle, and not the 30ml , the smaller ones do look different , the caps are the same, the bottles are not.
Some would say that the bottles are a bit simplistic, they are not ,the local Headspace Parfums distributor told me that the 100ml bottles are made to look like jars where Headspace Parfums owners do keep some ingredients, or it was something in the same vain.
Twin Peaks was before my time ,but Kirsch is indeed quite a complex and sexy fragrance. Powdery and fruity leather, boozy , tart scent with like Nicoleta Tomsa said mysterious allure. Since Nicoleta shared her favorites, I’ll share mine too – Myrrhe, Kirsch, Santal.

  • Happy New Year!

I loved reading about Headspace Kirsch. The description was so visual with the references to Twin Peaks and Audrey Horne. I could not only smell the fragrance in my mind but I envisioned what I would wear with it. Cherry fragrances for me need to be for grown ups and this one definitely falls into the adult category. Hope to win it, can’t wait to try it. Either way. Thanks for the giveaway! In the USA.

  • All i knew about Scentologia up until I read Nicoleta Tomsa article, was that Scentologia Syn.ergy was part of Karl Topham honorable mentions for the best fragrances of 23′ . He called Syn.ergy the best tropical fragrance of the last year and also said it’s nuclear.
Kirsch is tantalizing dark cherries , leather and iris fragrance and with additional Japanese sake brings to mind date scenarios, and provokes some thoughts of the infinite possibilities afterwards.
    Thank you kindly, from EU

  • Like J, I am also very particular with fruit perfumes. I generally don’t enjoy them when they’re cloying or overly sweet, but Kirsch sounds delicious. The cherry liquor sounds really appealing, especially in addition to the sake. Kirsch sounds like the perfect fragrance for a first date. I’ve been following J (@wearescentient) on Instagram for quite a while and always love the reviews! Thank you for another great review, J. Thank you to Headspace for the giveaway.
