Fragrance Du Bois Santal Complet Review + Island Getaway Draw

Fragrance du Bois Santal Complet review

Fragrance Du Bois Santal Complet photo by Sebastian

For over 4,000 years, sandalwood has a sacred history. With a warm, soft and sweet, woody, spicy, balsamic scent that is also described as buttery and creamy, sandalwood is especially prized  for its meditative qualities. Fragrance Du Bois Santal Complet uses buttery, creamy sandalwood, mixed with equally buttery, creamy and lightly spiced coconut. The cozy dry down of amber and vanilla seems festive and boozy, (think more of cognac than pina colada) and adds a warmth that is most welcome for the Holiday Season.

Record snow has already fallen in the Northern Hemisphere. The days grow shorter, the sun sets so early and the icy fingers of winter grips our turned-up coat collars. It’s the time of the year when so many of yearn for an island getaway. Wearing Fragrance Du Bois Santal Complet is a  scented ticket to paradise. Close your eyes, inhale deeply and be whisked away.-Michelyn Camen, Editor-In-Chief

  • Great review by Sebastian. Sandalwood and coconut with boozy touch, what can I say. Sounds like festival by the fire with friends to me. Definitely a scent that I have to try. Thank you for the opportunity of the giveaway. I live in France.

  • Based on the review from 1 of the best niche reviewer on YouTube channel “smelling great fragrance reviews”

This sounds like it smells amazing I have heard of the house but have not smelled anything from them. That coconut note sounds yummy.

I appreciate this opportunity first of all I haven’t tried anything from this house before but I am UTTERLY entranced!! Sebastian has an amazingly thorough way of explaining perfumes.

I really wanted to try the Parisian and the Santal Complete My favorite tropical destination would have to be Costa Rica or Hawaii even though I never been, hoping to one day!!

Thank you! Nicole from California, USA

  • This is such a smooth elegant fragrance. I really like this to be my signature scent. Sebastian as always got stellar reviews about this Santal Complet. – Cheers from PA, USA

  • Honestly, he had me at “buttery”.

You know how as perfume enthusiasts we imagine up our own fragrances with our own notes? Yeah I did that, I thought of “Tobacco+Butter+Peach” for some reason.

I suppose Santal Complet might be as close to that as I can get from the fragrance world. I’ve never tried any Fragrance Du Bois fragrances so this might be the first.

    I live in Saudi Arabia.

  • Anna Jurgenson says:

I have had a please of sampling this fragrance. It’s very high on my wish list. It’s a beautiful comparison and Sebastian always describes the fragrance with such authenticity, that makes you fall in love with a sent without actually putting your nose to it. Always enjoy his fabulous reviews. My dream vacation would be Venice, Italy. (Anna – Mississippi)

  • Sebastian’s review left me intrigued and craving this fragrance. He made it interesting, almost like a fairytale kind of description. I’ve tried Oud Jaune by Fragrance du Bois, but Santal Complet seems like my cup of tea. I live in Romania.

  • MaximumGreen25 says:

Sebastian always does a great job reviewing. I am interested in the coconut note with the sandalwood. I also find his point about a possible rum note intriguing. I do not own any Fragrance du Bois, nor have tested any. The brand does seem interesting to me though. I live in Denver, Colorado, USA. My tropical destination would either be the Maldives or Hawaii.

  • Love Sandalwood and Coconut, would love to try this fragrance or maybe even win the giveaway. Have never tried Fragrance Du Bois. Love your review have seen many of the other brands. You are awesome, it shows you have a passion for Perfumes and know what you are talking about.

  • Eizabeth Carbanera says:

You always do very good explanation of fragrances that help us to buy a good perfume or cologne.
    Thanks for your time.

  • Thank you Sebastian for the review. Your passion for fragrances always shows 🙂 From your review, I’m imagining a wonderfully smooth layering of Creed’s Virgin island water and Tom Ford’s Santal Blush. I’ve tried and absolutely loved Oud Vert Intense from the house. I’m in USA

  • I love Sebastian’s descriptive reviews and him mentioning how buttery this fragrance is. I once had a sample of Santal Complet and it was indeed a stunning buttery masterpiece!
Another one of my favorite FDB fragrances is Oud Jaune Intense, ah what a glorious scent!
I am Armenian American from Los Angeles and a tropical destination I would love to visit would be St. Barths; I’m brushing up on my French just in case 🙂

  • Dustin tyson says:

For starters I appreciate Sebastian reviews if he says something is great it usually is correct and this fragrance sounds beautiful haven’t had the chance to try anything from this house yet but Santal complet sound perfect for a dream trip to bora bora.

I’m from California, USA thanks .

  • nclfarr@gmail.com says:

FIrst off thank you so much to Sebastian!! ❤️He has such a complete way of explaining fragrances and a positive personality making it a joy to watch him. I’ve heard amazing things about this house but haven’t had the funds to purchase it! I hope to smell the Parisian as well but had the Santal Complet on my wishlist. Again I haven’t been but I really want to go to Costa Rica or Hawaii

    Cheers from California, USA

  • Mariam Abdulmalek says:

Realy would like to discover this how im intrested after this review im intrested in smelling how coconut mix with sandlewood , ilive in kuwait

  • I always trust Sebastian’s reviews on fragrances and love how he described the Santal Complet. I’ve tried some samples of Fragrances du Bois from Luckyscents including Santal Complet. I adore the scent a lot as I love the creamy buttery sandal wood scent with the coconut touch to it but the performance was not up to par so I haven’t got the full bottle yet. I think it was because of the samples from Luckyscents are in 1ml dabbing vials as others said it has great performance reviews. I think the dabbing samples doesn’t work so well while dabbing may affect the amount of applications. I wish to win this bottle so I can try it for its true beauty and performance. I live in California USA.

  • Love the house of fragrance du bois they have several amazing offerings on my too purchase list. Currently only own sahraa oud but will be adding more too my collection in future. Sebastian did great at describing this scent it is such an incredibly well done tropical sandalwood! Cheers from Mn,USA and my current dream vacation is Bali … Santal complet would be the perfect scent too bring with good luck everyone (Forgot too log in too comment haha)

  • I found Sebastian’s review Interesting because of the details he mentions and his enthusiasm and knowledge. I have tried fragrance du bois’ oud noir intense. I love in Oregon. My dream tropical vacation is to Bora Bora to stay at the four seasons resort there.

  • Sara patterson says:

Boozy!!! I have not tried any of the perfumes before. But I’d love to whisk away to the Maldives.

  • Hello!
I sampled 2 Fragance du Bois fragances, Oud Jaune intense and Santal Complet. I loved Santal Complet. Sebastian did a perfect review of it. I live in Spain. My dream tropical destination is Riviera Maya, Mexico.
    Thank you!

  • I enjoyed the video, Sebastian always describes the perfume nicely so I want it right away …
I tested Milano perfume from FDB and was thrilled, so I recommend Sebastian to test it.
    I live in Croatia.
My favorite tropical destination is the Maldives.

  • I enjoyed Sebastian’s review because of the details he gives, the knowledge he has, and his enthusiasm. I have tried Fragrance du Bois’ Oud Noir Intense. I live in Oregon, USA. My dream tropical vacation is to Bora Bora to the Four Seasons resort there.

  • Nazik Sourig says:

I haven’t tried any of Fragrance Du Bois perfumes but I’ve heard many good things about Santal Complet and I had my eye on it for a long time.
What I found interesting about Sebastain’s review the way he described the scent and h it is creamy and boozy with spice and coconut made it a must have perfume.
    I live in Norway.
My dream tropical destination is the Maldives island.

  • Boozy, creamy sandalwood… Sign me up! Looking at the notes and listening to Sebastian, the composition makes sense to me. Sandalwood and coconut are a perfect match with their milky creaminess. Some rum goes well with coconut for a tropical drink. Then with amber and vanilla to support the sandalwood in the base. I love when a fragrance is coherent in its idea and this sounds just right. Sebastian’s reviews are always enjoyable. Thank you for sharing with us and thanks to everyone involved in the giveaway. I live in Denmark, EU.

  • Assad Saoud says:

I don t know this house but Santal seems classy. How does it compare to other Santal from Dior maison, Guerlain, Amouroud…

  • Phaedon Couniniotis says:

I am tempted in getting to know better the house and the particular perfum Sebastien talked about. It will be very interested to see how the notes of coconut and sandalwood are matched together something that Sebastian noted.

  • I remember learning about this house recently from dana sandu Oud Jaune intense. I bought it !
Sebastian did a great job with the review buttery sandalwood and coconut. I didn’t know sandalwood is used for meditation thanks I am pretty stressed. Lots is snow predicted formula home town in Ohio and we just had a major one My dream getaway is Koh Lanta in Thailand
    USA

  • kkarnes1986 says:

I love Sebastian’s channel and how thorough he is with his description of the scent, this video was no different. I love creamy sandalwood and that paired with the coconut sounds amazing! I don’t have any experience with Fragrance du Bois but this would be a great introduction. I live in Ohio USA.

  • Dulce Perez says:

What I like about this review is the way he described this fragrance as being so smooth like butter. This fragrance sounds like it’s just up my alley, I love sandalwood. My dream tropical destination would be Hawaii. From Queens, New York USA

  • Claumarchini says:

When Sebastian reviews a scent I just have the urge to buy it! I have a full bottle of Siberian Rose from Fragrance du Bois and tried London oud: I simply love the brand! Have been to a few tropical destinations, I’d love to visit Hawaii… I live in Milan, Italy

  • I have sampled about fifteen of Fragrance du Bois perfumes so far, and they are all incredibly luxurious, Santal Complete being no exception.
I thought it was interesting that Sebastian described it as ‘buttery,’ as I’ve heard many times that it reminds people of a butter cookie. To me, the warm spice, and the hint of boozyness in it borders on gourmand, and I’m happy Sebastian’s opinion is here to back me up! I think this would be stunning in the cool New York days, but can imagine that it works just as well during sultry summer nights – I’m definitely eager to try it out. Maybe by the time I purchase a full bottle of a Fragrance du Bois, I’ll be able to afford a vacation to my tropical destination of choice – Ko Samui in Thailand.

  • Sebastian’s reviews are always very informative as he gets across the essence of the scent. Haven’t tried any Fragrance du Bois before, but certainly interested in this one, enjoying sandalwood and vanilla fragrances. One day would love to relax for a while in the Maldives! Live in CA, USA.

  • My first love from Fragrance Du Bois was Oud Rose Intense it was a blind buy after I saw a review, I was blown away it was love at first sniff, I have had Santal Complet on my wish list for a while now As always a great review from Sebastian ♥️

  • I really enjoy fragrances that have the power to indulge the experience of wearing it. Coconut and sandalwood seem like the best blend of notes for a smooth and buttery perfume that can actually put you in a different mood. Sebastian’s review really describes this fragrance as a perfection of smooth and cozy qualities and that is the part I enjoyed the most.

Personally, I have different fragrances that offer the note of sandalwood and I really enjoy the buttery nuances of it in some of them. Combined with the coconut, slight spiciness and the hint of violet which offers an ozonic touch, it is a perfect match for me and my taste in fragrances.

I have never tried this niche brand even though I have been really interested in it lately after smelling “Petales De Cashmere” off one of my friends some weeks ago. It just smelled divine on her.

Finally, this giveaway wouldn’t be a bad start digging more into their fragrances. Btw, I live in Belgium and my favorite dream tropical destination would be somewhere with lots of coconuts, for sure. Maybe Aitutaki? Just maybe.

  • Cozy ambery vanilla with coconut that smells like pina collada definitely interesting.Nice review from Sebastian as always .Im in EU

  • Sebastian really brings the fragrance to life without us ever smelling it. His description was great particularly love the sound of the coconut and buttery sandalwood plus vanilla amber drydown. Ive not tried anything from Fragrance Du Bois before but would love to and Santal Complet sounds like a great one to try. I’m from CT USA. I’ve never been anywhere tropical but maybe Jamaica or Brazil sound fun. Thanks for this very generous draw.

  • Sebastians review of this tropical coconut sandalwood fragrance was great as he really describe the scent profile. I have never tried any Fragrance du Bois frags but I am interested in this one. I live in CA USA. Thanks for the draw. Cheers!

  • I’m interested to see if this fragrance can truly cause me to feel as if I’m in a tropical setting. It seems like the top notes and the base notes are the prominent aspects of this fragrance. I want to see how the coconut, lemon, sandalwood, and vanilla notes (along with the cognac) all work with each other in this one. I’ve never tried any of their fragrances but I have heard of them (by means of Cafleurebon). I live in MD., U.S.A. There are many tropical destinations that I’d like to visit but I’ll just mention The Seychelles, East Africa.

  • Luis.Correia.2020 says:

I like sandwood in perfumes. I tried Sacred Wood By Kilian and Valentino Uomo Noir Absolu. I haven’t tried the Fragrance de Bois brand yet. I loved the review, Sebastian is a man with great identity, with knowledge in the world of perfumes. As they say in Portugal, Port wine with age gets more enriched. Sebastian has many years of knowledge and great love for perfumes, which contributed to the quality of his reviews. My tropical dream destination is The Mamanuca Islands in Fiji.
    Thank you.
    Luis Correia, Lisbon, Portugal

  • Olman Rojas says:

Bastian (smelling great fragrances) it’s the best perfume reviewer in the world. You can close your eyes and been transport to all the details of the fragrance, you almost can smell the fragrance with the explanation.
I’m familiar with fragrance do bois, i bought Parisian Oud last year, but now with this great review of Santal Complete, definitely i need it in my collection.
I feel identified with this fragrance, because I live in Costa Rica in Central America, and all those accords of Lemon, coconut, violet, and vanilla, it’s like a perfect and sexy representation of the east cost of Costa Rica.
My dream tropical destination is Dominical Republic!

  • Miguel Pena says:

Sebastian is the reason why I started my journey into fragrances. He has a unique way of describing and getting your attention with different fragrances. Santal Complet is no exception. Thank you Sebastian for transporting me to my fantasy destination The Maldives!

  • Bryant Worley says:

What I found interesting about Sebastian’s review was his enthusiasm about the fragrance, and the enthusiastic way he enthusiastically broke down and discussed Santal Complet;-D

With great sadness and embarrassment, I divulge that I have not tried any Fragrance du Bois fragrances as of yet.

I live in Waldorf, MD, USA. My dream tropical destination is Aruba.

  • I keep hearing about this scent, I love anything with sandalwood and the combination with coconut sounds so soothing and transportive. For destinations I’m dying to go to the Galapagos Islands. Thanks from California!

  • Olga Martinez says:

I have never tried any fragrance du Bois perfume but I have watched great reviews about the house, I enjoy Sebastians reviews as I feel he’s always honest, this fragrance sounds very captivating, exotic and elegant! My tropical dream destination would be Anguilla. I live in Poland! Thanks

  • Mayer Jotkowitz says:

In Sebastian’s review I found the coconut element to be interesting together with the sandalwood and the butter/vanilla aspects. Very curious to explore this particular scent. I’ve never smelled anything from this brand but the bottles look luxurious and I Will check out other fragrances you have. My dream tropical destination is Hawaii or the Maldives. Or Jamaica. I live in Brooklyn New York.

  • I love Sebastián’s reviews, I never heard of a fragrance being called buttery before, well except the Roja Dove fragrance, but never a sandalwood Fragrance. The coconut and sandalwood mix with the pepperiness he mentioned bur not from the pepper note. This fragrance sounds wonderful and perfect. I haven’t tried any fragrances from this house and my dream tropical vacay is Fiji. I live in the US

  • Shabaka Huguley says:

Sebastian’s description of the fragrance being buttery coconut sounds very interesting and luxurious. I like santal type fragrances and have never come across that combo before. I have never tried any Fragrance du Bois perfume before but after hearing this review I’ll have to look into trying some samples on my next order from Luckyscent. I live in Grayson, GA and my dream tropical destination is Costa Rica.

  • Sebastian has a very accessible way of talking about perfume. Scent and how you experience it is very much colored by history and the amount of experience one has. To communicate a clear scent profile is a talent.

I live in the Netherlands and have never had the pleasure to try out a Fragrance du Bois perfume. Only recently have i begun to explore niche perfumes and am very curious what the quality difference is. Sandalwood is the only type of wood note that is a safe like for me. I wonder if it brings out the woody element in coconut as much as that in turn brings out the creaminess of the sandalwood.

My dream tropical destination would be Costa rica. I once took care of my mother’s friends cat while she was on vacation there. She brought me back some honey from the rainforest and it truly smelled as tropical as i imagined the flowers there to be. De scent and taste of that honey will always be a fond memory.

  • I just appreciate Sabastian for giving back and involving us in his videos. It’s always a pleasure watching his reviews. I am not familiar with this house but I enjoy sandalwood! I live in the United States/ Delaware! As far as tropical islands go, who wouldn’t want to go to the Maldives?!
    Thank you.

  • I like a coconut scented fragrance. Santal Complet sounds interesting with that pepper note. I haven’t tried any fragrances from Fragrance Du Bois. I’m dreaming of a warm, sandy beach getaway….perhaps one day. Thanks for another great draw! Mich USA

  • Haloperidol says:

Sebastian review of this fragrance got me even more curious with this house, the first one being Sahraa Oud. My favourite tropical destination is Cebu, PH. I’m from Singapore!

  • Sebastian’s description of the fragrance being buttery coconut sounds very interesting and luxurious. I like santal type fragrances and have never come across that combo before. I have never tried any Fragrance du Bois perfume before but after hearing this review I’ll have to look into trying some samples on my next order from Luckyscent. • MarcelRoosUSA says:

Shout out from New York! Thanks for a great video and a fantastic giveaway. I am always a massive fan of amber and vanilla combos. I see on Fragrantica that they say this is primarily for warmer weather and Fall. I found it interesting that the notes at the top seems perfect for warmer weather while the base is nice and cozy for the winter. I’ve been wearing designer fragrances my entire life, but I started getting into niche houses over the last year. I haven’t had the chance to try fragrances from Fragrance du Bois yet, but I would absolutely love to. Santal Complet and Pure Oud seem like absolute super stars! My dream tropical destination is Mauritius, primarily because I grew up in South Africa before I came to the US, so Africa has a special place in my heart.

  • I would to try this fragrance just finished watching Sebastian’s video! And the scent notes sound amazing and I like how he described this fragrance. Thanks for the opportunity! I’m in Connecticut!

  • Loved how Sebastian described the character of this fragrance. Creamy, buttery sandalwood, coconut, boozy cognac, and a light spice perfect for the holiday season. All sounds right up my alley

I’ve not tried any Fragrance du Bois perfume as I live in an area without many niche fragrances available, but have had my eye on this one for quite some time.

    I’m in Pensacola, Florida.

Dream tropical destination… Bali, please! Or my parent’s homeland, Nicaragua, where I can sip on fresh coconut water all day long

  • Just recently came upon a sample of Brume du Matin and thought it was a very nice uplifting floral, although if I were to wear something from the brand, I think Oud Vert Intense or Amber Intense would be more my style. Loved Sebastian’s ‘expensive butter’ quip though. lol Churned by the queen perhaps? Stoked that there’s a bit of spice and booziness in this one though. Can’t have a tropical vacation without either! Very interested to experience how the coconut and sandalwood interact to give it that smoothness. Shout out to the FdB for such a generous gvwy. Dream tropical destination – Mercury! Where everything turns to butter. LOL Canada.

  • Traian Gheorghiu says:

I find Sebastian’s description of santal complet on point with the buttery smoothness comparison.
I’m a huge fan of the house and I own some of their fragrances (oud vert, bleu, london, oud du bois, cannabis blue) having tried all of them.
Fragrance du bois is definitely my favourite fragrance house of all time and I’m so glad I’ve got to experience it.
    Greetings from Belgium

  • Sebastian always provides a comprehensive look at a fragrance, which is why I love his reviews. I’ve only tried a sample of amber intense but the quality is clear to see. I love in lovely New York but when it’s cold outside I think of going back to the southern Portuguese coast for a vacation!

  • Hanna Sihite says:

For me, who is new to the world of fragrances, I can see how to appreciate a fragrance from the way Sebastian has reviewed many of the fragrances.
From where I live it’s quite difficult to find the brand that is being reviewed by Sebastian. But I’m always happy every time I watch the review because at least I can imagine the beautiful smell just by listening to his review. Thanks Sebastian!

I’ve known about this house only in recent months and have never tried any of their fragrances. Wish I could try one of the fragrances from this house.

My dream tropical destination is Bora Bora.
    I live in Indonesia.

  • Amazing review by Sebastian! The creamy coconut note is what enticed me. Now that winter is upon us I can only dream of a getaway, and this scent will help me do so. I fell in love with fragrances ever since I was a child. My parents were smokers and that’s what got me into growing my collection. Love from Rhode Island, USA!

  • I love his detailed reviews!! One of my favorite fragrance reviewers on YouTube! Extremely thorough and depicts imagery when speaking about accords and notes!!

  • Sharath Sambamurthy says:

I love Sebastian’s reviews since he chooses the best fragrances to review and he always reviews the latest fragrances before anybody else does. His reviews are straight to the point and his enthusiasm shines through when hee likes a fragrance.
I own Sahraa oud and i love that fragrance. I also own Parisian oud.
    I live in Chicago.
Koh Samui would be my dream tropical destination.

    Thanks

  • Ever since middle school I have been in love with cologne. I used to get bullied because my parents would smoke cigarettes near me and I’d in turn smell like cigarettes. This was my motivation for starting a collection. Sebastian’s review was amazing, Thorough to say the least! The coconut is what intrigued me. Love from Rhode Island, USA. – Christian, 19 yo

  • Ieva Mozuraityte says:

This sounds like it smells amazing I have heard of the house but have not smelled anything from them, so this might be the first.
It will be very interested to see how the notes of coconut and sandalwood are matched together.

    I’m from Norway.
My favorite tropical destination is the Maldives.

  • Mohamed Sow says:

Discovered Santal Complet watching a reviewer and purchased a sample from Luckyscent amongst other ones. It is my favourite from the house along with Patchouli Argent. I have been saving my sample, waiting for the right time to acquire a bottle.

  • Great review! Spiced coconut, sandalwood and cognac sounds elegant and delectable. Love the bottle. I’ve never tried any Fragrance du Bois scent before. Commenting from MD, USA.

  • Mohammad Naguib says:

This one is in my wishlist, I’ve sampled Oud Orange Intense & Oud Jaune Intense and I appreciate the quality, FdB offerings are top notch.

  • Hello. I love this house! Fragrance Du Bois is the epitome of class and well blended fragrances! I love Santal Complet, but I’ve only been able to try a sample and would love a full bottle. I also have sampled aud jaune intense and it too is beautiful, summery perfection. As usual Sebastion does an excellent job of describing notes and providing an overall profile of a fragrance so that you as a viewer can know if the fragrance will work for you and your tastes. I live in New York, upstate NY, where fall is now turning to winter. My dream vacation is to go to Hawaii. I’ve never been to Hawaii, and it would be perfect right about now as the snow is starting to fall.

  • Sebastian is on of my favorite fragrance reviewers and I watch all of his YouTube reviews. I adore Santal Complet and have sampled it a few times. I’ve also tried Oud Orange Intense and own Oud Jaune Intense. I’m from the S.F. Bay Area, California and my dream island vacation would be Bali.

  • Sebastian’s review hit the nail on the head. I’ve been trying to describe Santal Complet since I fell in love with it but there was this one elusive quality I couldn’t quite get…it’s BUTTERY sandalwood. I’ve tried other fragrance du bois parfums- Oud vert, Oud rose intense, Oud jaune intense and Oud orange, but this is, without doubt, my favourite so far.
I live in the US currently and My dream tropical destination is the Maldives.

  • Mohammad Naguib says:

This one is in my wishlist, I’ve sampled Oud Orange Intense & Oud Jaune Intense and I appreciate the quality, FdB offerings are top notch. The Coconut and Sandalwood with buttery texture look amazing. From UT, USA. Costa Rica is in my bucket list.

  • I always enjoy Sebastian’s reviews which are honest and to the point. He got me with “expensive butter” LOL this time. I don’t have any FDB perfumes in my collection and Santal Complet seems like a good one to start with. I live in USA and thanks for the giveaway..

  • Sebastian is one of my favourite frags reviewers. I was following this amazing house and planning to buy some samples from lucky scent. I love oudh and complex fragrances. I would love to try this. Thanks, Lucian

  • Hashim Madani says:

The buttery smoothness of the sandalwood and coconut from Sebastian’s review is what appeals to me the most, I absolutely love this house – great quality and a ton of longevity. Oud Orange Intense and New York are my absolute favorites. VA, USA.

  • Michael Lynady says:

Great review from Sebastian. FdB’s are some of my favorite frags including Santal Complet, Oud Vert Intense, Oud Bleu Intense and Oud Orange Intense.
Santal Complet is not your usual coconut fragrance – it’s so good.
    Pennsylvania USA

  • When I started my interest in niche fragrances, this and Oud Jaune Intense were the first samples/decants I ever ordered. I couldn’t believe how different it smelled from other perfumes. I was in love from the moment I placed it on my skin how it developed with my chemistry and how long it lasted. They both are beautiful and simply perfection. I am more partial to Santal Complet because I love powdery milky musky fragrances and I am a sucker for anything that contains the note “violet/violet leaves”. To me, this is one of the most beautiful, most delicious scents that I have encountered, It is totally unisex and it smells completely different and delicious on my husband. If had to describe this on a single sentence, I would say this is the PERFECT wedding fragrance. (please, pick me!!! )

  • Alistair Napper says:

Sebastian is quite possibly the best fragrance reviewer, he’s like an encyclopaedia of fragrance and I enjoyed this review of Santal Complet because I love sandalwood in fragrance especially a creamy kind and then adding the coconut just makes this sound perfect. I have tried a fragrance from Fragrance du Bois (can’t remember which one it was, it was a while ago) just in store in Selfridges here in the U.K. where I’m from. My ideal tropical destination would be Hawaii!

  • Chimaobi Richbamson Ayogu says:

FDB is a fantastic house and I definitely love a prominent sandalwood and coconut note in fragrances. Coconut, creamy sandalwood, and amber. Sounds like an exceptional concoction and I would love to try this one. Great review by Sebastian.

  • Sandalwood is my favorite fragrance note. I was intrigued by Sebastian’s video because I have never sampled a fragrance with both sandalwood and coconut notes. I was also intrigued by the light holiday spices he described. I have not tried any Fragrance du Bois perfumes. They are not sold in Birmingham, AL yet. My dream tropical destination is likely Saint Martin or Bora Bora.

  • Juliette Crew says:

Thanks for the review and “buttery” description. I am familiar with this house, primarily from you-tubers. I have tried Oud Orange and Oud Jaune intense. As well as Parisian Oud. Loved all three altho not sure about the longevity? Have not tried Santal Complet.

  • Sebastian says Santal Complet is a boozy sandalwood creation that also has coconut note, hence the tribute to tropical locations. I have not tried anything yet from Fragrance du Bois, My fav. tropical vacation may be Hawaii. US

  • If you close your eyes and listen to Sebastian’s review, you see cheetah – black and gold, individual, proud and dangerous. If it was a woman it would be Sharon Stone or Angela Bassett. I have never tried or heard of Fragrance du Bois but currently looking for something new and this review cought my attention. My name is Joanna, I live in Chicago , Il and my nose never let me down, so did not my imagination.

Really good review abouy a house that i don t own any botlle off , or for that that matter ever put my nose on a sample, would love to win this , new york , usa .

  • I really love the way Sebastian went into such great details of the notes of the fragrance. Too often time other reviewers would just compliment the perfume and say very general things, but I prefer to know about the notes myself.

I myself have a bottle of Oud Jaune Intense from Du Bois, that’s why I am so interested in Santal Complet. I’m a huge fan of coconut and violet, they’re gorgeous!!!!

I live in America and my dream tropical destination has to be the Bali…. I imagine Santal Complet would be the PERFECT choice of fragrance to bring on the vacation indeed!!! :]

  • As always a great review! Sebastian always knows how to describe fragrances in ways that make you feel like you’re actually smelling them! The note breakdown and presentation look and sound incredible. I’ve samples New York 5th Ave before and SUPER loved it. This scent sounds like it’s right up my alley with the bite breakdown! I live in Idaho USA! Thanks

  • I was so excited when I saw Sebastian’s review of this fragrance! I really wanted to hear his thoughts on it. I love coconut and sandalwood. So I was happy to hear that this fragrance really is mostly about these two notes. I would love to try this one. From fragrance du Bois I only tried New York 5th avenue so far. Also a really nice fragrance. I live in Illinois, US. I miss going to seaside and warm summer holidays. Perhaps next summer…My dream tropical destination is Bali.

  • I love all of Sebastian’s reviews. The way he described this fragrance it sounds amazing. I’ve never tried any Fragrance du Bois perfume but I’d like to. I live in Illinois, USA. Dream tropical destination: Fiji

  • Brigitte Brie says:

I just love this niche house and we’ll love to own this fragrance . All the notes are what I am looking for in a perfume Sebastian a fait en sorte qu’ils tombe en amour avec ce parfum mais il est tellement dispendieux merci /thanks for another great review

  • Sandalwood is one of my absolute favorite scents!! Sebastian mentioned it was a buttery sandal type scent, which sounds divine. Got sample of New York 5th st from dubois. Love it.

    Dream vacation: Balí!

    Love from Chicago

  • Newbie Fraghead says:

Not sure how I feel about the coconut. That creamy sandalwood sure does sound nice. Would like to try the brand but am afraid of cleaning out my savings. New Jersey in the house.

  • I think the description of the sandalwood sounds interesting. I live in USA, but a trip to Bali sounds good about now. I haven’t tried these fragrances.

  • I love the way Sebastian mentions that the coconut note in this fragrance is tropical because I felt the same way but just hadn’t found the words to describe it since sandalwood fragrances usually aren’t tropical. I also enjoy the reference to it being buttery, what a fun descriptive word.
I have tried Fragrance du Bois before but I don’t own any full bottles. Of the samples I tried, my favorites were Oud Juane Intense and Santal Complet.
I live in Los Angeles California but my dream destination for a tropical adventure would be Fiji!

  • Miguel Mesias says:

I think that this perfume is a mix of elegance, exotic smooth smell. The scent and especially the coconut on it create the perfect combination to use it at any occasion. Thanks for the opportunity to win one, good luck everyone. I just got in love with this fragrance honestly I have never tried it, but I’m sure I will love it spreading in my body.

  • Sebastian’s review has undoubtedly left me really wanting to try this perfume. The coconut notes are what is attracting me. My dream destination would have to be Tahiti.
    David from Texas USA.

  • Thank you Sebastian for the review on this fragrance. To be honest I am kinda new to the game as I only started collecting fragrances in this year and they all are some mainstream designer in every reviewers’ top lists. Now I am in proclivity for niche brands and some which in my radar are MFK and Le Labo. I’ve heard about Fragrance du Bois but never been inclined toward their collections but after watching Sebastian’s review on Santal Complet, I’d say I am intrigued especially by the milky/butter and coconutty as I never got those from what I’ve smelled and heard from people. I would love to enter the giveaway so I could broaden my horizon on the fragrance world, thank you for this lovely opportunity. I live in Indonesia and I would say Bali and Maldives are my tropical dreams.
    Cheers!

  • Miguel Mesias says:

Thanks for the opportunity to everyone to win one. I just got in love with this fragrance and I think that the scent the coconut are the perfect combination, perfect to use for a special occasion and perfect for this season. I have never tried it but Sebastian’s review left me with a desire to get one.

  • I enjoyed how succint and to the point Sebastian’s review was and allowed me to get a good idea of how the scent smells. I do have to agree with his descriptions and enjoy this a lot as well. I have tested quite a few Fragrance du Bois, from the colors collection and nature’s treasures and have to say Sahraa Oud is the most outstanding to me together with Oud Jaune Intense. I am from Singapore!

  • Charles Medeiros says:

This fragrance sounds beautiful. I will definitely be sampling. (Unless I’m super lucky and win!)

  • Always find Sebastian’s reviews extremely helpful and discriptive. Main thing i got from this particular review….coconut. Never tried a fragrance from th is house, but their on my list. Any vacation with my wife ( and maybe even my kids) is a dream vacation

    Great review by Sebastian.
Love all scents that have sandalwood, amber and vanilla.
Can’t wait to try this one.

  • I is very strange because I’ve tried the sample of their fragrance this was one off the perfume I love I was saving to buy it when they have 15% but they sold out so I end up with 15ml oud orange but I still want this one so I start saving to see in I can get some discount for Christmas it’s my Christmas wish hopefully I can win I live in Virginia USA and thank you Sebastian since I found your Chanel I think I became a perfume addicted and I learn a lot thank you you are amazing

  • I have recently become a fan of Fragrance Du Bois and what I loved most was how Sebastian broke down the fragrance and the different phases during his wear. I’ve tried a few FDB fragrances and Santal Complet is one of my favorites! I live in Memphis USA. My dream tropical destination is Bali!!

  • First off thank you to Sebastian,Cafleurebon and Fragrance Du Bois for this opertunjty to try this wonderful quality fragrance !
I’ve always wanted to get my hands on a bottle from this unique brand and would it ever make my year !

  • Great review of a fascinating fragrance by Seb. Very intriguing note breakdown, would love a chance to try it. Haven’t had a chance to try any Fragrance du Bois, but heard nothing but good things. Not actually a fan of tropical destinations, but doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate them from afar. Thanks from Vancouver Canada!

  • Carlos De La Torre Jr says:

I liked how Sebastian’s describes the notes of the dents plus I love sandalwood. Never had the pleasure of trying a Du Bois fragrance. California USA
My dream tropical destination would be the Bahamas.

  • I loved the coziness of sandalwood and vanilla description. I have sampled Parisian Oud from this house and adore it.

  • Bishan Fernando says:

Sebastian really does an amazing job describing a fragrance. Almost always spot on. One of the few guys I trust when reviewing a fragrance. I think this sounds amazing the Coconut and Sandalwood combo! It’s right up there for me. Unfortunately, I haven’t tried anything from Fragrance du Bois still although it’s a house I really really want to try. Would love to win this.

I live in Sri Lanka. And my dream tropical destination would be Bora Bora.

  • Sandalwood is my favorite singular scent so Sebastian’s review caught my attention. A buttery and boozy sandalwood coconut sounds divine. The other interesting nuances of the other notes like black pepper and violet is also intriguing. I’ve tried a few others from this house, London oud being my favorite. Would love to try it.

  • Sebastian is always genuine and we share similar taste, I have some great experience with his recommendations. I would love to enter the giveaway since I really love gourmandy woody fragrances, and according to Sebastian, Santal Complet would be a great fit. I’ve tried Sahraa Oud from Fragrance du Bois and I found myself cannot stop smelling it.
    Favorite tropical destination: Tahiti
    Boston, USA

  • My dream tropical destination is Bali! And I actually think that this perfume matches the destination well. While I’m not a huge fan of coconut in fragrance, the way Sebastian describes it makes me want to try the combination with sandalwood! Would love to try this fragrance, as I have never tried anything from their line.

    From NJ, USA.

  • jayne_nalanga says:

    – Been following Sebastian’s channel for a while because I love how spot on his descriptions. For this review I can picture the “smoothness and buttery feel” of this perfume just by his descriptions, love it!
    – I haven’t tried any Fragrance Du Bois perfume before because it’s not available locally. Would love to own this one
    – I live in Manila, Philippines
-My dream tropical destination is Hawaii

  • Michael Werno says:

I found it interesting that this fragrance reminded Sebastian of a tropical setting. I own several from this house, but my favorites from Fragrance du Bois is Oud Verte Intense and Oud Noir Intense. Dream vacation would be skiing in the mountains. I’m in NY.

  • What a wonderful scent this is! I’ve tried it and fell head over feet for it. But it’s way too expensive for me. I’ll consider myself very lucky if I win a bottle, it will be like Christmas and New Years Eve with fireworks on a BALI, it could really transport me on my dream destination

  • Thoroughly enjoyed Sebastian’s review on Santal Complet. Coconut is one of my favorite scents/foods in general! I am from Indonesia and we drink and consume it daily since it is of abundance here. The way Sebastian illustrated the melange of notes between coconut, a touch of vanilla, and sandalwood made me drool!! Definitely, my favorite part of the review was how he compared the sensation to butter at the end–delicious. It sounds so decadent and buttery and just what I want in a fragrance and I have never tried a fragrance du bois before, It would be an honor to have one in my collection.

  • Fachribajammal says:

I love how he explain every note break down flawlessly. I havent try this one but I already try oud rouge intense and oud jaune and also oud orange intense.. This house have many gems in their collection so I would love if I got this one

  • forwardddfashion says:

I first heard about this fragrance from demi rawlings and then Josephine from jus de rose on YouTube. They both had good things to say about it so I got a sample from lucky scent. I was surprised to smell coconut because in their descriptions they focused on the fact that this is a sandalwood fragrance but I had a really enjoyable and refined coconut experience. This fragrance is beautiful and easy to wear for me. I live in Chicago and would love to go to Hawaii or Tahiti. I like sebastian’s description that this scent is like a pina colada without the pineapple and I agree with him this fragrance is very smooth.

  • Interesting that Sebastian doesn’t mention any sweetness in his presentation. If that’s not too prominent in such Gourmand territory I’m interested to smell this on my wife. Count me in! I’d love to win this to Germany, thanks for the draw!

  • Louise Caillouet says:

I have not tried Santal Complet but have heard it is wonderful and am intrigued to try it. Sebastian’s note breakdown is what really has me interested. I am from Chicago and my dream tropical destination is Bali.

  • Keith O Halloran says:

Sebastian is the Man, always gives a 100% genuine review of perfumes. I really love this Perfume House. I have 9 of their offerings so far and I hope to get more in the near future. I don’t have Santal Complet but I’ve watched so many reviews about it and it’s on my wish list. FDB Attars are to die for potent but so beautiful. I also have a full bottle of their 100% Oud and WOW it’s so strong but very complex, 1 Spray is more than enough of this amazing beast.

    Keith Here In Ireland

  • I am a loyal follower of Sebastian and trust his judgement on perfumes. I sampled this in the store and I fell in love with the smoothest sandalwood scent I have ever smelled. This is what I’ve been searching for; soft, smooth wafts of sandalwood to make me feel all cozy when it’s too cold outside. I get the coconut only for a moment on initial spray. I agree with Sebastian on the musk also. Such a delight and I would love a chance to win this

  • petarmolnar says:

Have been following Sebastian for a long while now and his reviews are straight to the point which I like about him.
What can I say about my favorite niche house and one of my fav FDB’s fragrances that is Santal Complet?
I wore it last summer on Adriatic coast and just couldnt get enough of it. 50ml bottle is almost gone and I’d love back up bottle.
So it sums up how much I love Santal Complet. Great stuff.

  • Raffaella Stella says:

I’ve wanted to try Santal Complet for a long time, because sandalwood is one of my favorite notes. Sebastian’s review convinced me even more, I love buttery fragrances!
My dream destination is the Fiji Islands.
    Love from Italy

  • I’ve been looking for this smooth Sandal wood experience for the past 20 years. My mom used to have a small bottle of actual sandal wood oil and it smelled divine. When Sebastian was talking I kept remembering this childhood memory. The review was as always to the point but detailed.

  • Ghaeth Wardeh says:

I heard so much about this scent. Sebastian Described it so interestingly. I would like to try it on my skin.

  • Giannis Papadimitriou says:

Amazing review from Sebastian. I always trust his taste and he never disappointed me. I’ve never smelled any Fragrance du Bois fragrances, it’s really hard to find any here. Thanks for the opportunity to try one of them. I live in Greece.

  • Lfotopoulos says:

Love to try this concoction of santal and coconut as Seb described. I haven’t tried something of this house but heard a lot about. I live in Greece and my dream destination is Bora Bora islands.

  • therealotitis says:

Hello! Sebastian’s review, as always, was informative and descriptive on the scent/notes as well as fragrance performance: what all of us fragranceheads want to know about in detail! I have never tried anything from the house of Fragrance du Bois before, but I have heard only good things, and their presentations are beautiful. I live in California, and I’d say my dream tropical destination might be Bali!

  • RidelAndrey says:

I love Sebastian’s reviews. He makes the smell of fragrances to come alive in my mind. Unfortunately, I didn’t find a place in my country, where fragrance du bois can be tested, so the only way to try it – is to blind buy. My dream tropical destination is Maldives.
Live in Belarus (if that’s exception too, than in Poland)

  • I watch all of his videos and have blind-bought fragrance based on his reviews and have always been happy with my purchases. I love how he articulates what he smells…the descriptions are what gets me every time. I have sampled Mutheer and a few others and love what I’ve gotten my nose on. I live in Arlington, Va. My dream destination is Tahiti! It seems remote and untouched. Happy Holidays!

  • Great review by Sebastian. Sandalwood and coconut what a combination and I’m even more intrigued to try because of the cozy nature of the perfume as quoted by Sebastian . Definitely a scent that I have to try. Thank you for the opportunity of the giveaway. I live in Dubai.

  • Andres Linares says:

    Hi there!
What I enjoyed the most about the video was, of course, the description of the notes. I love sandalwood, so does he. Sebastian describes pretty accurately the sensation you get when you smell sandalwood. God! It’s one of my favorite scents on earth! Besides, blending it with amber and Vanilla makes me extremely curious about this particular scent. I haven’t tried any Fragrance du Bois perfumes yet, but I’m planning on getting some samples from Luckyscents though. I live in Medford, NY.

  • Maria Anastasia says:

I have sampled Santal Complet and absolutely loved it! Sebastian’s review is so on point, describes exactly this buttery creaminess that you get from sandalwood and coconut!! Have also tried Oud Jaune and New York 5th, and loved them! Mauritius would have to be my dream destination, and I would love to win a bottle of this beauty!! I live in Thessaloniki, Greece

  • The review by Sebastian was so descriptive and as a
big fan of coconut in scents i was hooked on this
Santal offering . I havent ever owned or tested a Santal scent. A buttery Sandalwood and coconut with some added spice i would love to try out. I live in the UK but my dream tropical escape to would be Fiji.

  • I own Oud Noir and Patchouli Ardent from the Fragrance Du Bois line. Ive tried q sample of Sahara and loved it. I got into Fragrance when we were in q lock down here in the United States and come to really enjoy the variety and expressions fragrances can make. I watch Sabatians videos qll the time and take his recommendations to heart. would be nice to win a bottle with the beautiful display. my others came from swaps with just the bottles. Would make this tough year a little better. thanks

Very interesting review done by Sebastian, I like boozy notes and sandalwood. I’ve tried some samples from Fragrance du Bois and I wish to own one of them.
My dream tropical destination is the Maldives.

    Thank you,
    Mohammed Matar, Germany

  • I was sold on the ”buttery aspect” mentioned by Sebastian. The typical sandalwood profile I know is either milky or creamy. Santal Complet sounds really interesting and unique!
I have two FdB samples (Sahraa Oud, Heritage) and I love them both!
    I live in the EU.

  • I saw the review by Sebastian and I was totally intrigued by the description! Coconut and santal? Boozy and buttery with a hint of spice? Yes, please! 😀
Winning the prize of a full bottle would be a dream, of course.
    Thank you for the opportunity.

  • Wow, what a spectacular perfume, beautiful review, the coconut, creamy and the sandalwood, seductive, I love that. Wearing this perfume is pure magic. I have no fragrances of this brand. But I want to buy a sample, this review intrigued me.
    Linda, EU

  • I love the combination of sandalwood and coconut. Buttery, creamy, smooth, boozy…it sounds divine! I completely trust Sebastian’s review, I like the way he talks about fragrances, he’s really passionate.
My dream tropical destination is Costa Rica!

I haven’t tried any Fragrance du Bois perfumes yet, but I definitely will. I like in the UK.

  • I have not tried anything from this house, but Santal Complet looks like a nice concoction with those dreamy notes like violet, coconut, vanilla, sandalwood and musk.
I am in EU. Thank you for the draw!

  • „A scented ticket to Paradise” sounds amazing. Thank you, Sebastian, for the review. I tried more Fragrance du Bois scents and I liked the most Sahraa and Oud Rose Intense. But all of them are interesting and of a very good quality. I would love to win this one, as sandalwood is one of my favourite notes. I live in Romania, EU.

  • I simply adore sandalwood and I am sure this one – Santal Complet – will be a hit for me, especially since it’s recommended by Sebastian.
My tropical escape paradise would be on a remote island with the bluest water.
Thank you for the draw! I am in Europe.

  • Hi guys, so first of all i really trust Sebastian, he is a honest reviewer and describes the scents so well to the point where there’s no need to test these perfumes anymore.
I’ve always wanted to try santal complet, to be honest also because of demi Rawling raving about it.
I love woody and coconuty scents and if this could be a chance of winning a bottle, I hope to be the lucky one. ❤️

  • I am intrigued by the coconut, boozy and sandalwood notes described by Sebastian this sounds like a tropical island getaway inside a bottle. My favourite from this house is Parisean Oud. Thanks a million from the United Kingdom

  • I forgot to mention my favourite tropical destination would be the maldives. Thanks a million from the United Kingdom

  • For over 4,000 years, sandalwood tree has had a sacred history. With a warm, soft and sweet, woody, spicy, balsamic scent that is also described as buttery and creamy, and sandalwood is especially prized for its meditative qualities. Fragrance Du Bois Santal Complet uses buttery, creamy sandalwood, mixed with equally buttery, creamy and lightly spiced coconut. The cozy dry down of amber and vanilla seems festive and boozy, (think more of cognac than pina colada) and add a warmth that is most welcome for the Holiday Season.

Close your eyes, inhale deeply and be whisked away.-Michelyn Camen, Editor-In-Chief. A beautiful description by Michelyn just what the doctor ordered methinks. I am fascinated by the Sandalwood and Coconut notes that Sebastian mentioned and also the boozy facets as well. I have not tried anything by this house yet but I am intrigued nonetheless. My favourite tropical destination is St Barts. Thanks a lot from the UK

  • Another great review! I find Sebastian’s posts most most informative and interesting out of all Perfume Educators 🙂 on YouTube. I would love to own Santal Complet; the notes sound amazing! Thank you for the opportunity of the giveaway. I live in Europe.

  • Enjoyed the fact that he even chose Santal Complet in the first place. One of my faves from FDB, along with Oud Bleu Intense. The buttery angle was interesting… dont quite get that but always fun to see how different people interpret scents. I live in France atm. Dream tropical vacation would have be Thailand or Bali 🙂

  • Snigdha Chakraborty says:

FDB is becoming one of my favourite house and honestly by the way Sebastian talks about it, it sounds like a dream! Tropical, boozy, buttery! My my! Sandalwood and coconut are two of my favourite notes and I would love to get my hands on this perfume. Oud orange intense. Oud Juane intense, Oud rose intense, Milano, I am yet to encounter one bad fragrance from this house, all of them are true refined wonderful gems! I live in India and being a tropical country the offerings from this house goes perfectly well here. My dream tropical destination is the Maldives and I would love love love to wear Santal Complet in a vacation there! Nevertheless I would just like to congratulate the house of FDB on the wonderful job they are doing and for creating bottles of heaven for us fragheads:)

  • As always concise and charming, Sebastian made me discover many fragrances. The buttery, coconutty feeling he talked about made me curious, especially considering the interplay with santal and oud. I’ve only tried amber intense from the house, by Christian Carbonnel. It brought back the memory of an excursion in a salt mine near Warsaw: the composition had that kind of mineral matheric darkness and a strange airiness, the type one smells inside a jet. A very austere and yet sexy fragrance. An other association was the ritual in eyes wide shut.
I’d like to visit Okinawa and the northern part of Japan one day.
    Greetings from Rome, Italy.

  • Amazing & detailed review by Sebastian as usual. Really interested in the coconut and buttery experience from the fragrance. Have only tested some of Fragrance du Bois perfume over counter but don’t own any full bottles as in Malaysia (country that I live in), they’re very expensive.

Hope to win the giveaway to finally own a Fragrance du Bois perfume.

  • The review was very good and insightful. I think the notes are perfectly blended together and the transition between them is truly magical and evocative. In some elegant way it brings me a lot of peacefull sunny memories from my childhood and comforting feelings. It’s a warm, tive travel machine, perfect to transport me from these rainy autumn days… I had a sample before and would love to be the winner and have a full bottle! At the moment, I live in (the not always sunny) Portugal and my dream tropical destination are the Maldives.

    All the best,
    Pereira

  • Never tried anything from Fragrance du Bois, but I have heard only great things about this house and Sebastian’s review confirms the general opinion.
    I am in EU.
    Thank you.

  • Very tantalising review from Sebastian. I am always looking for a smooth buttery santal fragrance. And with the coconut, musk and boozy effect. It’s definitely a winner.
I live in France & never had the opportunity to try a perfume from Fragrance du Bois.
My dream destination would be a discovery trip in the East & Southeast Asia.

  • Amanda32828 says:

I truly enjoyed this review, it was very detailed and it brought back to my attention the Fragrance Du Bois line of fragrances. I love the coconut and sandalwood combination too, definitely something I’ll like to try. While listening to this review I can’t stop thinking about Hawaii or the Fiji islands. Thank you for another great review and for the opportunity to participate in this fantastic draw. Commenting from Orlando, Fl.

  • Have been following Sebastian reviews since long. Have got great buys following him. Have not bought fragrance du bois yet. Would love to try this. I live in Dubai.

  • Thank you Sebastian for introducing me to this fragrance. I love sandalwood and I enjoyed the description of this perfume, as the notes (especially coconut) are not what I normally see with sandalwood. I live in Canada.

  • beginswithaJ says:

Thanks Sebastian for the again very inviting review, and you for this nice giveaway. “A buttery experience with a heart of violets and black pepper” sounds like my kind of jam 🙂 I’m thinking of Hawaii and the million ways I can’t go there right now because I live in The Netherlands (EU).

  • Amazing review as usual 🙂
I have heard from this fragrance before but had no chance in testing it yet. The coconut combined with creamy sandalwood sounds just perfect and unique for me.
I would love to win this fragrance, thank you for the giveaway! It would be perfect for my next holidays.
    I live in Austria

  • Great review Sebastian! I’m very curious about this fragrance. Usually I own or have tried several other fragrances you recommend however, I have not tried this one yet. All of the notes mentioned are notes I love, and they must smell amazing of you’re recommending the fragrance. I definitely would like to try this fragrance. Thank you for introducing this house to me.

Another direct and diplomatic review from Sebastian – top notch. I have never experienced a Fragrance du Bois scent, but Santal Complet sounds like an amazing start for the brand.

  • Avihay Cohen says:

Combining the sandal tree with notes of coconut sounds interesting and intriguing .. I have not yet used a perfume with such a combination and I am sure we will get along very well together. Thank you for the opportunity Avi.

Sebastian’s description of the milky coconut and milky sandalwood sound totally wonderful! I have not tried anytning from Fragrance du Bois yet, but this one sounds like perfection to me. I live in Florida and my dream destination would be a warm island somewhere when Covid is under control with all my family and friends.
Thanks for the chance to win this yummy sounding creation.

  • What I love most about sebastian’s review is his personality shines through and makes it so engaging and enjoyable to watch. That and the fact he gives his own perceived notes is incredibly helpful as well as a genuine personal insight into his experience.

I’ve tried many from the brand and amber intense is one of the best things I’ve ever smelled.

My dream tropical vacation would be to go to Fiji one day .

    I’m from Israel.

  • I really enjoyed Sebastian’s review! Sounds like a beautiful scent. I found very interesting the buttery feel of the sandalwood + creamy coconut, what a dream! I have not tried any Fragrance du Bois perfume yet, but I certainly want to try this one. I live in Panama and I also have a USA address (through which I buy most of my fragrances). I could say I already live in a tropical paradise 😉

  • Another great review by Sebastian! Sandalwood, coconut with booziness – oh my goodness it sounds divine. I haven’t tried any Fragrance du Bois perfume before.
    I am from Hong Kong

  • Thanks for the review and the opportunity to get our hands on this fragrance. I like the breakdowns in your reviews. I’ve sampled Oud Bleu Intense and loved it, but never got a full bottle. If I win this coconut heavy fragrance, I’d like to take it with me to my dream vacation in the French Polynesian isles.

I’m from Arizona, in the USA.

  • I haven’t tried any of Fragrance du Bois’ fragrances before but Santal Complet is the one I’ve been most tempted to smell. I’m happy to have the chance to enter this giveaway for the fragrance and to see Sebastian reviewing it. I always enjoy his in-depth description of all the fragrances he reviews.

I live in Sweden and I think the tropical place I’d like to go to the most is Hawaii.

  • I like the idea of the cozy dry down with amber and vanilla. Adding coconut is an interesting twist. Not heard of the house before. US

  • I’ve heard so many incredible things about this fragrance and I think the coconut addition to sandalwood sounds so interesting! I’ve never had the opportunity to smell any FDB but they’re definitely on the list. I’m from Pennsylvania in the USA

  • Kerry Vollaire says:

I loved the fact that The perfume Guy ! Showed pictures of all the ingredients it really lets you understand the notes, most fragrance reviewers don’t really do this, as soon as he said buttery coconut with winter spice I was sold!! And the Visuals of cinnamon and star anise let me know I’d LOVE this fragrance. His descriptions are so detailed and imaginative ahhhh I can smell it now.

  • I found interesting and highly enjoyed the “buttery” description of the experience of wearing this fragrance. I have to admit that, while I’m very curious about the Fragrance du Bois fragrances, I haven’t tried any so far. My dream tropical vacation is Bali. I live in Italy.

  • Thank you Sebastian for this review! My ideal vacation destination is the Croatian coastline, sadly I’m stuck in a far colder climate right now. I very much like FdB Oud Bleu Intense and have sampled Oud Vert as well.

This perfume sounds lovely in a completely different way! I have a bottle of Lancome Santal Kardamon and love its boozy note and milky creamy sandalwood and vanilla drydown, so this FdB sounds promising. I liked your analysis of which notes were prominent versus just hints.

I like coconut but haven’t got any fragrances with it, so this would be a new foray for me as well.

I’m in Canada and would be thrilled to get to try this scent.

  • Pushpal Paul says:

The fact that the blend of coconut spice and sandalwood in santal complet reminds of the holiday.
I live in Malaysia and have own oud vert, oud blue and oud noir intense.
My tropical destination would be Mauritius

  • The combination of sandalwood and coconut sounds absolutely irresistible! I know this house uses only highest quality ingredients, I would love to get my hands on this. From Finland, EU.

  • VERY interested in what Sebastian means when he mentions the fragrance is smooth buttery like. It sounds very appealing and want to experience it. Plus coconut and sandalwood sounds very good combined as well. – haven’t tried tried any from the house yet.
    Would love to visit Seychelles.

    Greetings from Copenhagen, Denmark

  • Andreea Florica says:

I love coconut and I try to use it as much as possible, wether in cooking or in beauty products. Hearing what Sebastian says, it seems that the note of coconut is very natural in this fragrance.
    Thank you for the draw!

  • When Sebastian said it was a smooth and buttery experience, he had me hooked. I have never tried any Fragrance du Bois perfume, though I’ve wanted to. The Maldives is where I dream of going. I am in the U.S.

  • Yousif Elobeid says:

Iam in a coconut phase of perfumes which is the reason i wanna try it! I already have heritage which is my ceo scent from this house. This house makes smooth oud like no other.

  • Island in a bottle ♡♥♡
I love everything about it, especially Sebastian’s way to transport the scents to the viewer ^^
I never had the chance to smell anything from fragrance du bois and would love to begin with santal complet.
So far i hope to visit the maledives, as long as covid-19 exists, it’s a dream-destination..
For that fact: Stay healthy everyone!
    Lovely greetings from Germany, Amore

  • wandering_nose says:

I have been on the lookout for a smooth, sophisticated, cozy and slightly spicy sandalwood fragrance and I have been obsessed with coconut so Santal Complet sounds like a dream come true for me! Sebastian’s review is thorough, to-the-point and very convincing as always. I totally rely on his recommendations for my choices. Have not tried FdB creations yet. I am based in Ireland, my dream holiday destination would be Zanzibar. Thank you for the giveaway!

  • Love FDB, veeery good quality frags, but I never smelled Santal C. I’d LOVE to put my nose one, I tried to get some samples but after Producer Mike they went out like the wind

  • This was love at first sniff for me. Coconut and Sandalwood mixed beautifully in this fragrance. I knew i needed this in my collection the moment i sniffed this.

Not having been able to travel this 2020, i am dreaming of finally being able to fly out to Santorini, Greece.

    Salud from Manila, Philippines.

  • The description as buttery and with the addition of a coconut note makes it sound super fun and addicting. I wish I could win this one.
I live in the US and Costa Rica sounds like a fabulous destination for a tropical dream vacation.
    Happy Holidays!

  • LaurenRedolence says:

I loved Sebastian review of this review, he explained the fragrance so well. I am addicted to them buttery sandalwood fragrances, but I love how he mentioned that the fragrance has a slight boozy touch, as I can completely smell that! I have tried FDB fragrances and my favourites are this one or Oud Jaune. I live in the UK where is it very COLD, so I would love to be in my dream tropical destination of the Maldives right now

  • Christine Constantino says:

I always likes how Sebastian reviews so neutrally and accurately! I have always wanted FdB Santal Complet, Oud Jaune, and Oud Orange based on reviews. I just haven’t gotten my hands on them living in a country where FdB is not in. I live in Manila, Philippines and my dream tropical vacay is to see Maldives!

  • Jorge Vagace Rangel says:

Hi Sebastian great review. I’m so curious to try it after how you describe it. Best regards from Spain

  • I’ve been hoarding sandalwood in all its natural forms over the last few years. Recently I discovered niche fragrances and obviously been looking for my dream sandalwood scent which would stay close to my heart. The notes in Santal Complet look right up my street, now that I know it’s BUTTERY I can’t miss a change to smell it! Sebastian was the first scent-Tuber I subscribed to when I started my fragrance journey, he has a great taste for fragrances, keeps exploring what’s undiscovered and shares with his audience.
    With respect from the UK.

  • Very detailed description as always Sebastian, thank you so much.. I love coconut scent, and I always wanted to try Fragrance Du Bois but I didn’t get the chance to.. they offer a 10% discount on Facebook.. I live in Bahrain which is almost tropical lol, I really want to visit Malaysia one day..

  • Rimaz Ibrahim says:

I love Sebastian’s reviews because he always describes the fragrances so well which really makes me understand how a fragrance smells without even smelling it!
He also enjoys the same kind of notes I do in a fragrance.
I live in the UK and have smelled one Fragrance Du Bois perfume before and let me tell you, it was a gorgeous scent!
My dream tropical destination would have to be the Maldives, the colour of the water alone is what sold me and I believe the coconut note in this scent would be a perfect match 😉

  • Did anyone say buttery?! “scented ticket to paradise” sounds wonderful! Hawaii would be my dream tropical destination. I live in Romania. I’ve never tried a Fragrance du Bois perfume before. Thank you for the chance!

  • The buttery feeling of sandalwood instead of milky feeling. Love coconut! Sebastian said it blends so well with sandalwood plus touch of spice that adds depth to the fragrance. Feels like tropical for him. Maldives is my dream tropical destination. IL, USA

  • Considering how this year was, any tropical destination is my dream destination. I want to see all, to feel all, to meet new places and cultures and to be able to travel free, without fear. I love how Sebastian reviews fragrances. He is very accurate, clear and has the ability to recreate in ones mind the scent. I currently own Oud Orange Intense from FdB, and I think it is one of my favourite and precious fragrance. I’m planning also to get the two cannabis scented ones. I currently live in Romania, Bucharest

  • bigscoundrel says:

Sebastian does the best breakdowns. I like his description of how the coconut, sandalwood, and musks work together. I love Fragrance du Bois and own Oud Noir Intense and Oud Vert Intense. Hawaii has wonderful tropical destinations. New Jersey, USA

  • I enjoy Sebastian’s reviews. I am particularly interested in the buttery aspect Sebastian describes, this is so interesting. I would love to win this fragrance and I would for sure share with my friends from a local niche store.

  • I enjoy Sebastian’s reviews. I am particularly interested in the buttery aspect Sebastian describes, this is so interesting. I would love to win this fragrance and I would for sure share with my friends from a local niche store here in Brno, Czech Republic

  • marcopietro says:

It’s always a pleasure to listen to Sebastian. I never tried Fragrance du Bois, but I have read and heard a lot about their products. Widespread rumor that these are products of extra highest quality. They are precious, exclusive and opulent. A must have! This too does not depart from the line of excellence of their ouds and Sebastian’s description is a real invitation to sin. The image of creamy and buttery sandalwood immersed in a tropical atmosphere sounds heavenly. I would like to wear it on these cold days, imagining walking at sunset on the beaches of Martinique. Possibly not lonely.
    I live in Italy, EU.
    Thanks!

  • My tropical destination for this time can be Havana! Go there care free, dance rumbas and mambo, drinking coco- loco and smelling like amazing Sandalwood and buttery coconut with delicious co Ambery Musky Perfum from Fragrance Du Bois! Beautiful imaginary vacation with amazing fragragrance “Santal complet”. Good luck everyone and good health.
    Florida USA

  • Sandalwood fragrances are my absolute favorite and I love the addition of lemon and pepper to lighten up the rich and creamy sandalwood/coconut combination. Sending love from the East Bay and hoping I can get a bottle of this.

  • I was waiting for Sebastian to mention if its Creed clone or remind him of that but did not come. So mix sandalwood with coconut plus musk it must be something to wear this winter. My dream destination is Fiji. Hope one day will get there:) I live in Sweden EU

  • 1. I enjoy Sabastian’s content in general–it’s his attitude and how he describes notes! He’s not over dramatic and doesn’t oversell you on superfluities.
    2. I’ve never tried a Fragrance du Bois perfume, which is why I really want to enter this giveaway! I looove sandalwood.
    3. I live in Toronto, Canada
    4. I would love to visit the Maldives before it disappears!

  • patrick_348 says:

I liked Sebastian’s description of how the notes blend and interact, such as when he desribes how the cocoanut and sandalwood both are milky, so they blend together well. I don’t know any Frangrance du Bois perfumes, but this sounds like a winner. My dream tropical destination is Brazil, because I would like to see the rain forest before it is destroyed. I live in the US, in North Carolina.

  • redwheelbarrow says:

This sounds amazing. But tbh, Sebastian makes everything sound amazing, doesn’t he? I love sandalwood and the coconut note sounds fantastic. Thank you for the draw. I’m in the US.

  • Kevin Grissom says:

Sebastion does a terrific job of not over selling so I trust what he says. For me the review focused on the notes of lemon, coconut and of course sandlewood.

Great house -I’ve only tried one fragrance from their line, London Oud. Any samples you have of this or new fragrances would be appreciated.

  • Nice introduction by Michelyn and review by Sebastian of Fragrance Du Bois Santal Complet. Not sure if I have tried a prominent coconut top note fragrance, so this one will be interesting to try. And of course, sandalwood, musk, amber in base will make the fragrance lovely anyway. Buttery smooth, creamy, spicy, warm, cozy – perfect scent for the winter season. I haven’t tried any Fragrance Du Bois fragrances, yet. Thanks for the generous draw and review. Writing from the USA.

  • Zoran Loncarevic says:

A great giveaway!! Unfortunately, I haven’t tried a Fragrance du Bois Parfum yet, but Sebastian’s enthusiasm definitely sounds very good on the fragrance. I like it . Greetings from Germany.

  • wallygator88 says:

Thank you for the great review Sebastian.

This is such a fascinating fragrance – sandalwood and coconut is a combination that I’ve never experienced before. I like how you used the word “buttery” to describbe this

I also enjoyed reading Michelyn’s introduction mentioning how this scent is great for the cooler weather. That coconut would help bring to mind warmer days.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • As usual Sebastian does a great job and making me understand the fragrance. I enjoyed the depth Sebastian went into describing this one. I haven’t yet tried anything from this house, so I would love to! My tropical dream destination would be Maldives. I am from Canada.

  • This sounds beautiful! I have been sampling some sandalwood fragrances looking for the one for me and so far haven’t found it…maybe this could be the one! Blending sandalwood with coconut sounds so interesting and like nothing I have come across before. As always excellent review by Sebastian

  • Andres Echevarria says:

I would love to try Santal Complet! I have a sample of New York 5th Avenue I a really like it!

  • I love Sebastian’s reviews. Cocoanut and sandalwood, and he talks about buttery and smooth. I loved how he talks about how he loves it and the amber and vanilla are as he says, perfect for the season. Buttery sandalwood. My tropical dream is to go to Hawaii. I have not tried any of their fragrances. I should. Thanks USA

  • First time hearing of this house! A milky, coconutty sandalwood fragrance sounds dreamy!
I’m really into sandalwood at the moment, I’ve just ordered Lutens’ Santal Majuscule, and I have Sana Jardin’s Sandalwood Temple on my list. Would love to know how it compares to these two!
    I live in France.

  • Majed Putrus says:

Love the coconuty buttery quality mentioned in Sebastian review, also the combination of sandalwood, amber, Vanilla and musk at the base sounds delicious. From Finland
And my dream tropical destination got to be either the Maldives or the Bahamas

  • I really appreciate how he shares his experience of the notes, not just a note breakdown. It’s the way to have others visualize the experience themselves.
I haven’t tried anything from the house yet, but I hear/read great things about it.
I live in California, USA, but one day I’ll take a vacation in Jamaica; that would be awesome!

  • steel_fragrances says:

I enjoy his enthusiasm in describing the fragrance. I have never tried any Fragrances Du Bois perfume before, in fact, I only discovered it thanks to Sebastien’s review. I live in beautiful Montreal, Quebec, Canada and my dream tropical destination would be Jamaica. One of my best friends went there earlier this year before Covid-19 and it just looks incredible. Thanks for the opportunity. Sandalwood is one of my favorite notes.

  • Sebastian is the most meticulous reviewer on the world wide web. I have never got the chance to sample any Fragrance du Bois. This Santal Complet sounds very intriguing with the sandalwood and coconut notes, but when Sebastian mentioned the hints of amber and vanilla at the base…my heart skipped a beat. Would be absolutely thrilled to sniff this 🙂

Based in Portland, Oregon. Oh and my dream tropical destination? French Polynesia, haha.

  • sakerfalcon88 says:

Thanks for the review Sebastian. Just started watching Sebastian this year and have already bought few of his recommendations. I like his was of trying to convey a smell with words. My fav. sent is sandalwood and my favorite fruit is coconut, I think this perfume was meant for me, lol. I have not tried Fragrenace du Bois yet. But the London oud had peaked my interest before, and now the Santal Complet.
    I live in Toronto, Canada.
My dream tropical getaway would be Singapore.

  • I haven’t tried this house but I’ve been looking at their discovery sets! Loved Sebastian’s review, this one sounds like it would be great to wear this winter. I’m in the US and my dream tropical destination would have to be somewhere with an overwater bungalow!

  • Wow, Sebastian rules again. Rum notes Hmmm. Sandalwood and coconut, who would have thought. I’ve never tried any perfumes from Fragrance du Bois, but this just might be the one. Many thanks to Michelyn and Sebastian and many thanks to Fragrance du Bois for making this draw possible. I loved the island of Maui many years ago. That would be my dream tropical island in the sun. I’m in the USA.

  • As always Sebastian provides a wonderful review of a wonderful-sounding scent! I have not tried anything front this house, b and i would love to try this….sandalwood and coconut? Sounds wonderful during grey Seattle winters…I’m in the us. Thank you for the draw ava the wonderful review!

  • I have been very interested about Santal Complet for a while and I loved how Sebastian explained the notes, he definitely got my attention. I have not tried any Fragrance du Bois, I have to get my hands on the sample kit eventually. My dream tropical destination would be anywhere on the french polynesia. I live in Spain.

  • Coconut and sandalwood are two of my favorite notes, so Sebastian pretty much had me sold right off the bat. I’m familiar with the house but have never tried any of their offerings before! My dream tropical destination is probably the U.S. Virgin Islands. Although Aruba is a close second for sure. I am in the US!

  • zacharyari23 says:

Sebastian’s reviews are always informative and I think he has an easy-to-understand way of describing fragrances. I really like the idea of sandalwood and coconut, bringing some warmth to these cold nights we’re really just starting to settle into. I haven’t had the chance to try any Fragrance du Bois perfumes yet, but I look forward to the opportunity! My dream tropical vacation would be Raja Ampat with my family. Writing you from Colorado

  • I really enjoyed hearing about from the review is its soft and smooth and milky qualities which is something that I think sounds really nice and interesting in a fragrance. I have never tried any Fragrance du Bois perfumes before but I would really like to since I have only heard good things about their products. I live in the US but my dream tropical destination is the Maldives.

  • I enjoyed the description of the buttery facets of the fragrance. I have not yet experienced any Fragrance du Bois perfumes. I live in Missouri in the USA. My dream tropical destination would be Bora Bora.

  • Coconut and vanilla do sound like a heavenly combination – something reminiscent of a tropical getaway.
Please count me in for this one as it would be the first one that I get to try from this house. I am in Europe. Thank you!

  • I have never tried any fragrance from Fragrance du Bois. Santal Complet seems really lovely. The combination of coconut + sandalwood + Buttery concoction really speaks to me. Thanks, Sebastian for this draw. I live in France.

  • Stellar review! Great job Sebastian.
This sounds like it smells amazing I have heard of the house, read many beautiful reviews, but never tried any.
I love sandalwood, hope in this perfume it has great quality.
    Armenia

  • Sebastian has made me really intrigued to try Santal Complete. The fragrance consists of my favorite notes like amber, sandalwood, vanilla, etc. In Slovenia, we are in the middle of winter, so picturing myself being on the beach somewhere in the Maldives seems a great geographical analogy to the scent. The house Fragrance du Bois has been on my radar for a long time but has not entered my house yet. 🙂

  • A buttery boozy woody fragrance sounds like the perfect thing for winter. I love how Sebastian is always so descriptive when it comes to fragrances, he likes and is able to decompose them while also managing to make it sound accessible and easy to understand.
I am in the EU, never tried Fragrance du Bois before.
And actually, I don’t really have a dream destination of the tropical kind. But I would love to go see the Norwegian fjords and lovely fishers’ villages.
    Thanks for the chance!

  • Great review, as always, from Sebastian. I love sandalwood and this buttery, a little boozy one, combined with coconut made me dream about it. It truly sounds like that ‘nothing to worry about’ time that we all need. I haven’t tried any Fragrance du Bois perfume yet, but many of them are on my wish list. Warm hugs from Romania!

  • Sebastian’s review of this scent makes me think of this perfume as a warm hug on a cold winter day. He left me intrigued and I would love to smell it.
I’ve tried Oud Jaune Intense by Fragrance du Bois and I loved it. I live in Romania, but I’d love to visit Bali someday.

  • Vanillander65 says:

    Thank you for this review!
Unfortunately, I have not tried any Fragrance du Bois perfume yet.
I love boozy vanilla and the idea of buttery sandalwood together with buttery coconut. Definitely my cup of tea.
My dream tropical destination is Zanzibar.
    I live in EU 🙂

  • I love coconut, I have been trying to find more fragrance with good coconut notes but so far I only like Virgin Island Water. Milky sandalwood sounds yummy as well but hopefully I don’t get a vibe like Santal 33. I’ve never sample this house before so hopefully I’ll get a chance to even if I don’t win. My dream destination would be Maldives, amazing beach and scenery. Happy holidays from Texas

  • Jonathan Pierce says:

I keep hearing the word buttery and sandalwood. This sounds awesome! I felt like this was the go to description and sandalwood is missing in my fragrance collection. I am a fan of sandalwood and haven’t pulled the trigger to purchase a sandalwood fragrance. Sebastian mentioned that it would fit well in this time of the season and I am also light on my fall and winter fragrances. I would love to win this bottle and am thankful for the chance.

  • I agree with your description of Santal Complet as classy and buttery. It definitely smells luxurious to me. It’s the only Fragrance Du Bois perfume I’ve tried, but I’m really considering getting a full bottle. I live in Florida so I think it would be really appropriate for everyday wear. I think my dream tropical destination would be the Seychelles 🙂
By the way, does anyone know where I can purchase the 50 ml version? I can only find the 100 ml version for purchase!

  • Sebastian‘s review was well described as always, making me want to get my nose on this fragrance!

There is a music festival here in Alabama on the beach called “the hangout” and this fragrance sounds like that music festival; coconut, buttery, spicy, boozy sandalwood!

  • Sebastian‘s review was great as always; making me want to try the fragrance. He describes the fragrances perfectly every time.
This is a coconut, boozy, buttery sandalwood. I haven’t tried anything from this house, but it sounds beautiful!
There is a music festival here in Alabama that’s on the beach, and it’s called “the hangout” this fragrance just sounds like this music festival to me!

  • Lucía García Calatayud says:

Amazing review by Sebastian. Sandalwood and coconut are simple dreaming duo! I love this perfume.

  • I’ve been growing a liking to santal recently, especially after discovering Vientienne by Providence Perfume Co. and some extra troubles to get sandalwood essential oil. This sounds a comforting santal. I like how Sebastian uses picture when mentioning the notes, which really reinforces a image for the scent and how he never overstates but stays with honesty. I live in the US.

  • carlos_lager says:

I love Sebastians reviews! This one sounds perfect for the colder weather. Sandalwood is one of my favorite notes. The combination with coconut sounds really interesting.
Thank you for the chance to win a bottle of this fragrance! I have not yet smelled any fragrance du bois fragrances. My dream tropical destination is Bali.
    Greetings from Austria (EU)

  • I love watching Sebastian’s reviews. He’s honest, entertaining to watch and his reviews are always to the point! I’m very intrigued by this house Oud Jaune intense being the fav so far. Santal complet sounds amazing with coconut, sandalwood, vanilla don’t know if I should be eating it or wearing it! Based in the USA

  • I’ve been wanting to try more from this line, Sebastian always does a good job hyping them up. I’ve been wanting to try more fragrances with coconut in them. I’ve sampled fan your flames and that one was gorgeous. Sandalwood is one of my faves, so I’d love to see how they combine that and coconut together. From Idaho, USA

  • I’m interested in trying this. Creamy sandalwood with some coconut and lemon sound nice. Haven’t got the chance to try a Fragrance Dubois yet. Thanks, Ca

  • Johnmichael02302 says:

Sébastian’s review was interesting because I’ve never considered coconut as being a note I would enjoy. UNTIL NOW! This sounds amazing! I’ve never sampled this house. As a single dad it’s not easy being able to afford the $400+ this house goes for. Maybe one day! Good luck all from Boston Ma. USA!

  • Nothing like a tropical liquid in a bottle! Makes you longing for summer, the hot and long days when we feel immortal and every worry is gone! Please tell me what is not to like in a scent like this!?

    European reader. Many thanks!

  • I haven’t had the chance to test any from Fragrance du Bois, but I read a lot of great things and watched many videos about their fragrances. It has become a popular house and I am sure there’s a strong reason behind that!
Santal Complet sounds delicious! Please count me in. I am in Europe.

  • Not to anyone’s surprise but the level of depth in Sebastian’s review is always my favorite thing about the videos he makes. I am a huge fan of this brand, and this fragrance is one I have yet to try. I love the notes and coconut is the note driving my intrigue in this fragrance. My favorite from the house is New York 5th Avenue, just a gorgeous rose, oud, gourmand fragrance. My dream tropical destination has to be the Kona island in Hawaii. Kind regards from Illinois, USA.

  • Thank you for the review! I love coconut and perhaps is my favourite note. Together with lemon and vanilla, this fragrance is surely an antidote to long winter days.

    I am in Austria, Europe.

  • VERY interested in what Sebastian means when he mentions the fragrance is smooth buttery like. It sounds very appealing and want to experience it. Plus coconut and sandalwood sounds very good combined as well. – haven’t tried tried any from the house yet.

  • I have not tried anything from this house unfortunately, but I have heard many good things, so I am glad that we have this chance of winning something from them.

Sandalwood, coconut and vanilla they all sound really great together. Like a holiday in the middle of the winter.

I am in Europe. Thank you!

  • immortano26 says:

I’ve never tried Fragrance du Bois, but hope I’ll have a chance to do so. I’ve written so many times that Sebastian is my favourite reviewer, so I won’t write it again. When he talks, I smell the fragrance he’s reviewing. So wait I lied, it seems that I hace tried Fragrance du Bois via Sebastian’s review. That cool. I love the notes of Santal Complet, and the bottle is gorgous. Poland, EU

  • Ahmed Hamoda says:

I love fragrance du Bois. They definitely made high quality perfume. Can’t wIt to try this one.

  • I really appreciated Sebastian’s distinction between the olfactory texture of a fragrance, and in sandalwood in particular, being milky vs buttery. Huge difference! One type can kind of slip through your fingers and be airy, while the other is more decadent and thick.

I’ve tried Santal Complet before and loved it. I live in Sweden and my dream tropical destination is probably Okinawa. 🙂

  • Hello beautiful people,
    I always like Sebastian’s reviews,and I find them interesting.
Especially when it’s about Houses/frags that I know nothing about.
I am familiar though with Fragrance Du Bois,I ‘ve tested every sample pack of the House.
    Wonderful compostions,and top quality ingredients.
The ones that I enjoyed the most, and I’m planning to get in the near future are
Oud orange, Oud rose intense , Milano,
Sahraa Oud , Amber intense , Cannabis intense , Santal Complet , and Siberian Rose.
My dream tropical destiantion would be (not just one,but meh) Maldives.

  • Great review Sebastian
I enjoyed Michelyn shot review too – snow, close eyes, inhale deeply and be whisked away… So beautiful…!
I like sandalwood very much and know that Fragrance du Bois ingredients have top quality, so it’s seems to this perfume is amazing. But unfortunately I have not tested any FdB perfumes.
    from Armenia with love.

  • I enjoyed the description of this perfume as starting off on a buttery coconut note. I love coconut when it doesn’t get too tropical and my favorite perfume that did this was discontinued. I am hoping that this one can replace it as a new favorite! I have not tried a Fragrance du Bois perfume before. I live in California. My dream tropical destination right now is Bora Bora!

  • Chako Varghese says:

  • Shibu George says:

Outstanding sandalwood fragrance lovely balance. Sebastian’s review is on point. My dream getaway is Greece.

  • Exquisite review by Sebastian
I relate all fragrances to some sort of food, and his take on Santal Complet reminded me of making, and eating Coconut Velvet Cake , sitting on some vintage wooden table.
I have a sample of New York Intense , spicy woody and fruity goodness, top tier fragrance.
My tropical getaway would Koh Tao in Thailand , a place that offers crystal clear water, and it’s affordable for beginner scuba divers like me
Appreciate the review, and the giveaway campaign‍

  • From the review, I really liked hearing about Sebastian talk about the soft and smooth and milky qualities. I think those notes just sound fantastic in any fragrance. I don’t think I have never tried any Fragrance du Bois perfumes unfortunately. I live in the US and my dream tropical destination is Hawaii.

  • I really liked hearing about that blast of coconut as a top note because I just love the smell of coconuts. I have never tried any Fragrance du Bois perfumes thought and I live in Florida, US.

  • I loved Sebastian’s review. This sounds like such a cozy, woody, scent. I adore sandalwood and combining it with the coconut note makes it really sound so comforting.
    I live in the USA.

  • recursivemask says:

Sebastian is so articulate and knowledgeable about fragrances! I love sandalwood, and having the strengths of such an interesting perfume laid out is amazing. I haven’t tried fragrance du bois before. I’m in the US.

  • Michael Prince says:

Sebastian, great review of Santal Complet. This is a great fragrance with a nice combination of Sandalwood and coconut. A nice buttery vanilla and amber adds some additional sweetness and depth to the fragrance. I have tried two offerings from Fragrance du Bois Santal Complet and New York 5th Ave. I am from Ohio, USA. My dream tropical destination is Maldives.

  • ChanteusedesIles says:

This sounds amazing! I especially like creamy fragrances, so the fact that Sebastian mentioned this was so creamy it was buttery was intriguing! However, I hope it’s not buttery like in SL Jeux de Peau, which was like rancid movie theatre butter on me! Lol I have never tried Fragrance Du Bois, but sandalwood is one of my favourite notes, I live in Canada.

  • I think Santal Complet pays homages to the Tropics , full of life, joy and happiness.
Creamy sandalwood, with coconut and pinch of black pepper, sounds fantastic.
I’ve heard about Fragrance Du Bois, but I never had a chance to smell their perfumes.
My dream tropical destination is Lombok , Indonesia
    Thanks for the draw
    Currently in Germany

  • I have not been able to try anything by Fragrance du Bois yet. It sounds fantastic, as I am a huge fan of coconut. What I liked from Sebastian’s review is how he described it as a luxurious butter. Since I haven’t been able to travel to the Florida beaches this year like I normally do, I can imagine wearing this fragrance and being transported to a tropical setting. I would love to win a bottle! I’m in Illinois, USA for the draw. Thanks!

  • Jovoy Paris , as we all know is the best niche boutique in the world, there’s no question about it. That’s where i first saw , and smell Fragrance Du Bois fragrances. I later bought samples of the most impressive ones.
I do agree with Sebastian, the small difference is Santal Complet on my skin is really sweet, like a desert. Oddly enough to me smells pretty similar to the famous Coconut Tres Leches. To me there’s more coconut, than sandalwood, and not the other way around. Of course it could be my skin reacting in such a way.
Going to The Galapagos Islands would’ve been a dream.
    Thanks for the top opportunity
Back and forth between USA and Scotland, the new schedule is 2 weeks in US -> 2 weeks in Scotland, and so on. Basically both USA and EU/UK at the same time

  • Absolutely love Sebastian’s channel. The only reviewer who reviews every perfume explaining the wearability of the perfume and not just how artisinal it is. Unfortunately never got a chance to experience a Fragrance du Bois perfume but hope to do it someday! I live in Pakistan and hope to visit Bali one day.

  • I’ve always wanted to get my hands on a bottle of Fragrance du Bois, their bottles are so stunningly beautiful. I think I would really enjoy this one from Sebastian’s review. Would love to visit Bali again for my tropical get-away. I live in Singapore, really hoping I win this bottle!

  • Oh, just making another comment since it’s my first time visiting the Cafleurebon blog and I’m not sure if my comment was published. Can’t seem to find it in the comment section. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • I really enjoyed Sebastian review! Sounds beautiful – combination of coconut and sandalwood. I love sandalwood, but not sure about coconut, but Sebastian and Michelyn reviews intrigued me.
I am not familiar with Fragrance du Bois.

I love how Sebastian describes Santal Complet as buttery and creamy with sandalwood and lots of coconuts. It sounds like a truly lavish holiday scent! I have honestly had my eye on this fragrance for a while and have been meaning to sample it. The notes intrigue me bc my favorite scents for winter are creamy, cozy, woody, spicy Orientals and gourmands. For summer I love smooth tropical coconut scents. This fragrance sounds like it combines the best of both olfactive experiences in a very festive sophisticated way. I hope to try this very soon. The getaway i’m dreaming of at this moment is somewhere in Spain. Maybe For now, stuck home in Ohio, I will settle for the destinations fragrances take my imagination. Maybe a white sandy beach in Malta? Perhaps a festive holiday party by rolling waves.

Really intriguing sounding fragrance. I find coconut an interesting note, I don’t really see much of it outside of overtly tropical fragrances. Love thinking of the idea that scent memory (imagining being near the beach having a drink) might be influencing Sebastian’s experience here. Gonna have to get a sample of this and others as I’ve never tried any before (big luckyscent order incoming). I’d want to go to Rarotonga, always been told great things by my mates about it.

  • Sebastian’s review describing it as very smooth is inviting. His description of the coconut top and sandalwood, musk and ambery-spice base grabs my attention. Watching from Pennsylvania, USA.

  • A great review by Sebastian! It was the definitely sandalwood that initially piqued my interest, but as always, just one mention of coconut was enough to send my excitement sky-high. I love coconut in literally any of its, whether that be food, drink or scent. Actually, although not uncommon, I still think coconut is fairly underused in fragrances and I never understand why. The fact that as well-regarded as Fragrance Du Bois have used it, along with another all-time favourite ingredient of mine (sandalwood), makes this an absolute must-try!

For my island getaway, I’ll go with somewhere a bit left-field and say Lord Howe Island in the Tasman Sea off the coast of eastern Australia. It’s somewhere that I have always wanted to visit – such a breathtaking island! Not sure there are coconut trees there (it is a fair few degrees south of the Tropic of Capricorn, so ‘tropical’ is a bit of a stretch!), but it is certainly where I would like to be right now!

  • Neat take on a high level fragrance .
The one Fragrance Du Bois i know is exactly
Santal Complet 🙂 Rich smelling sandalwood fragrance, with coconut, lemon and vanilla.
It’s everything Sebastian said it is , I also have to say the lemon is prominent for at least one hour.
To me feels kind of relaxing , but also full of energy kind of fragrance .Best of both worlds. Never been to Seychelles before , but I’d love to go , especially now.
    What a chance
    USA, rarely Paris France

  • Definitely fragrance with a strong character , filled up with the best of the best sandalwood
, it’s also sweet and fruity to make it even more livelier.
Like Michelyn said “scented ticket to paradise” , and we all need such tickets at the moment.
Ko Samui in Thailand , I only wish nowadays
Fragrance Du Bois I know by name only.
    Exciting giveaway, USA

  • Tropical fragrances are right up my alley. I just find that particular fragrance profile irresistible and I couldn’t stop myself from falling for this gorgeous fragrance according to Sebastian’s review. Yet another great review from Sebastian, very descriptive and illustrating the best dreamy tropical vacation perfume. Imagining myself wearing it on my dream destination right now – Bali. Haven’t had the chance of trying any of Fragrance Du Bois perfumes till now. I am from Bulgaria.

I always enjoy how Sebastian reviews fragrances so thoroughly and in such a manner that it’s easy for me to make a realistic impression of the perfume. I’ve bought a few of his suggestions in the past and I was not disappointed. This fragrance would be new to my nose but considering what I said above, I’m sure I’ll love it if I get to win and smell it! I live in the EU (Romania). Thanks for the chance!

  • Great review as always by Sebastian. Love sandlewood and coconut. Love what I’ve smelled from this house so far, would like to get my nose on this one.

  • I’m drawn to Santal Complet because I expect it will smell like my tropical trip i was planning, before the world going upside down.
With the schedule I have last few weeks, I could only dream about my Langkawi vacation in Indonesia. Turquoise sea water, greenness, great local food, decent prices. Of course i dream about going there.
Having tropical trips , and inhaling the ingredients of the world will have to wait for now. I’m buying coconuts online, but it’s not the same like actually going to Langkawi 🙂
Santal Complet could easily satisfy my adventuristic soul.
Fragrance Du Bois is completely new brand to me , bottle looks stunning.
Thanks to Sebastian , and to Fragrance Du Bois for the generosity.
USA most of the year, and Germany from time to time

  • I’m well familiar with Fragrance Du Bois, smelled all prior 2020 , including Santal Complet. There’s a tropical vibe in it , like I’m watching local girls performing some Hula dance in front of me.
It’s a , warm fragrance, well dipping into gourmand territory in its base.
Coconut is delicious , with bright and tart lemon , sandalwood and vanilla.
My impressions are from the older, transparent bottle.
My favorite Fragrance Du Bois is Oud Orange Intense. I need to try all 2020 releases too .
Tropical getaway? Khao Yai National Park in Thailand , one of the prettiest places on Earth

  • I love Santal Complet, it’s the perfume which sent me on a quest to explore more sandalwood scents, but this is still the best. Sebastian’s review is brilliant and informative as always.
    I live in the UK.

  • Sandalwood is my “scent spirit”. I enjoyed everything in Sebastian’s review and I added Santal Complet from Fragrance du Bois on my wish list.
I’m dreaming I’d be wearing Santal Complet in Malta.
    Hugs from Romania

  • I liked Sebastians review because he outlines which notes are really prominent and which are in support, which makes it sound very appealing. I have never tried any perfumes from this house, and I live in Melbourne Australia. My dream tropical destination is Bali, I live so close but I’ve never been!

  • Sebastian described the perfume as buttery which sounds absolutely dreamy! I respect his recommendations as he’s always so thorough in reviewing fragrances. I’ve never tried anything from the house but hope to with santal complet. Dream tropical location would be Costa Rica! I live in the UK.

I watched the Fragrance du Bois, Santal Complet on the Smelling Great fragrance review and it sounds wonderful. I would love to add it to my rotation of scents. NM USA

  • Loved Sebastian’s review of Santal Complet – and would love to try it! I have gotten some samples from FDB (Oud Jaune Intense and Oud Orange Intense) which I loved. I live in Los Angeles, and the Santal Complet seems like it will be PERFECT to wear in the upcoming months 🙂

  • This house is sooo intriguing for me but the price tag kills me lol I love fragrance and in Canada I can’t sample this and to drop 450 cad on a fragrance I don’t know is hard which is why would love to win this bottle.
