Favorite Summer Fragrances 2020 + Solace in Scents Draw

Best Summer Fragrances of 2020

We Love Summer Fragrances by Elena©

It’s June of 2020 and the summer solstice draws near (June 20, 2020). It might be the most memorable summer of our lifetime. Much of the year so far has been spent in isolation, and you can feel the world’s frustration, and anger—personally and politically. The team of ÇaFleureBon are a diverse group—our editors live all over the world from California to Croatia (which at the time of this writing just experienced yet another earthquake). So, we take solace in scent …  we travel to places we yearn to visit, count the days until we can hug the people we love and have not seen in many months and of course through all of the many emotions we experience, our favorite summer perfumes bring us joy.

Chantecaille Vetyver review

Photo of dana aka a_nose_knows

Chantecaille Vetyver (Pierre Negrin) came my way uncalled for, but in perfect timing. Clean, calm, crisp, and cooling*, it managed to shake the stale worries of late and prime my soul in a way other scents don’t; its earthiness is unassuming, therefore cozy; its spiciness is light, so not intrusive; its greenness present, so reliable. I didn’t know I needed so much emotional freshening, but now that I switched to summery comfort smells (rather than experimental, conceptual, abstract, etc.), their positive elegance and quiet sophistication is most reassuring in these fretted times–and CV is right up there to lift, soothe, and renew my spirit.  Main notes: bergamot, vetiver, sandalwood, musk, nutmeg, pepper*No, the alliteration was not intentional… but I’m seriously CCCcccconsidering—instead of “the 4Cs of a diamond”—to start speaking of The 4 Cs of Vetiver. Stay tuned. –dana sandu, Editor

Nishane Ambra Calabria review

Ambra, Ambra Calabria, I wanna reach out and grab ya! Yes! I want to reach out and grab it.  Nishane Ambra Calabria is the kind of fragrance you just want to grab it and spray it on. It’s right in the middle of warm and cool, so you have the coolness of a bright summer freshie plus all the warmth of those ambers you might wear in the coolness of summer evenings. Warm and gooey comes to mind, but also crisp and cool. Crazy! Calabrian Bergamot kick starts the green freshness, with bitter green resinous galbanum, plus more green leafy notes. A flawless segue from the heart, with spicy, herbaceous coriander complimenting the top notes perfectly, to wonderfully settle to the eponymous Amber and Vanilla. This wonderful offering from the house of Nishane has become one of my most worn fragrances from this house, especially during the summer. It’s absolutely amazing! –Sebastian Jara, Editor

carner barcelona salado is a great summer fragrance

Salado Carner Barcelona -When in need of freshness that steps away from the classic scheme of things relying fully on blasts of citruses, clean musks or ozonic-aquatic vibes, enter Salado.  It’s crisp-green but soothing, and with a touch of a salty-mineral ocean breeze that’s carrying fine mist all the way from white-foamed crests of deep-blue waves below the bow of a sailboat cruising alongside the shores of Mediterranean Sea. Thin, almost transparent slices of cucumbers in a freshly prepared salad, crystallized salt on your sun-tanned skin, and the irresistible ease of unpretentious freshness: summer can begin! Notes: pink peppercorn, Paraguayan petitgrain, Italian bergamot, Moroccan orange blossom, cucumber, salty accord, musk.- Elena Cvjetkovic, Editor

best 2020 summer niche perfumes

Frequent Flyer by Thierry Van Biesen©

Neela Vermeire Creations Ashoka (Bertrand Duchaufour) Constructed so as to reflect the eponymous Indian Emperor’s transformation – from ferocious warrior to piece-seeking Buddhist – through its own aromatic evolution, Neela Vermeire Creations Ashoka showcases the meditative beauty of sandalwood, surrounding it by a superbly blended bouquet of exquisite flowers, rustic twigs and fig leaves, as well as leather, resin and incense accents. What makes me crave for this Art and Olfaction Award-Winning fragrance especially in the summer is the stunning interplay between its distinctive aqueous aura (lotus flowers and hyacinths floating in crystal-clear waters) and the lactonic goodness of fig milk: their olfactory synergy transports my mind to breezy days spent on an idyllic beach, sipping juice from a freshly opened coconut. A creation of shining thoughtfulness and soothing finesse, Neela Vermeire Creations Ashoka is altogether contemplative and optimistic, and ever so delightful. Notes: Lotus, Rose, Water Hyacinth, Fig Leaf, Parsley Leaf; Osmanthus, Cassie, Iris, Incense, Jasmine Sambac, Fig Milk, Geranium, Ylang-Ylang; Fir Balsam, Myrrh, Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Vanilla Accord, Ambergris, Birch, Vetiver, Leather, Styrax, Heliotrope. – Despina Veneti, Senior Editor

Kenzo Parfum d'Ete summer review

Created in 1992 by Jean Claude Delville, Kenzo Parfum D’Été is the olfactive equivalent of the sensation you have in summer when, after a long ascent, you stop near a mountain river and suddenly sink your feet in the water. The water is so cold that you forget to breathe for a few seconds and feel all the coolness, slowly infusing, like an intravenous drip of cool shade, into your soul. A photographic green filter is placed over the lens, so we “focus” in the frame on a bouquet of flowers (lily of the valley, hyacinth and rose) and a bowl of fruits that are all drained of all their warmth. What we pick up on our olfactive spectrum is depicted in shades of cool, all clear, sublimated, realistic and organic. I can’t imagine hot weather without Parfum D’Été coming to the rescue, and we’re just entering our twentieth summer together. –Nicoleta Tomsa, Senior Contributor

French Riviera summer

Vintage Riviera photo via Tumblr

Atelier Des Ors Pomelo Riviera by Marie Salamagne, 2019:  When you can’t get to the Riviera, let it come to you with this sensationally uplifting summer fragrance. Bursting juicily with tart grapefruit, white flower petals soon join in with their fragrant confetti. A tang of sea salt takes you to Antibes in a blink and a heartbeat. The bottle itself shakes up like a snow globe, glittering with gold leaf, painting a sunset on the sparkling Mediterranean. Notes: grapefruit ,jasmine, sea salt, orange blossom, roses, cedar, bergamot–  -Samantha Scriven, Sr. Contributor

Dior Eau Fraȋche review

Dior Eau Fraȋche + Lucky Décolleté in a Christian Dior dress by Walde Huth (Paris, 1955)

I long awaited summer 2020 since I got my hands on a perfectly preserved vintage Christian Dior Eau Fraȋche by Edmond Roudnitska. This cologne opening with sparkling lemon and tangerine is so deeply rooted in the collective heritage as a part of many perfumes from the past it can’t be just labeled as old school. It’s familiar as much as the typical smell of suntan lotions. What’s left after the initial burst of impeccable citrus, is as ephemeral as a childhood summer memory. That jasmine tenderness shaded by a chypre ghost and a dash of vanilla reminds me when I used to visit my grandma in the countryside. I used to slip into her bedroom, the coolest room and jump face down on her double bed to catch a glimpse of the fresh clean white linens. Cool moist air, shade and all that candor in the summer heat, that’s Christian Dior Eau Fraȋche. Notes: lemon, mandarin, jasmine, rosewood, oakmoss, vanilla.Ermano Picco, Editor

Prosody Neroli Nuance review

Photo Donna Stevens

Prosody London Neroli Nuance: Summer florals do not have to mean airy or tropical to glow, rather than overwhelm, in the heat. Organic, all-natural brand Prosody London, one of my favourite discoveries Pitti Fragranze 2019, has just the ticket for those bored with generic jasmines and fruity floral perfume cocktails. Neroli Nuance is an elegant, woodsy-flowery creation that blends soapy, fluffy neroli with a basket of tangy citruses and some acerbic green notes for balance, then lays the lot on a bed of creamy sandalwood and resins. Soothing but substantive, and beautifully structured, Neroli Nuance will last into the evening hours without ever feeling heavy or dense.  Notes: Neroli, rosemary, green mandarin, blood orange, jasmine sambac, sandalwood, orange blossom, labdanum, benzoin. —Lauryn Beer, Senior Editor

Sarah Horowitz Parfums Life’s a Beach banq

Collage by Gail Gross @ Sarah Horowitz Parfums Life’s a Beach Bottle with Sand and Sea Oats by Gail Gross

Let’s face it – life can be a bitch as well as a beach – and right now the former designation definitely applies! A crowded sunny strand is not an option for me this summer.  So Instead of basking and frolicking in sand and surf, I am calming and refocusing my mind and spirit via the solace of my favorite beach-y, sunny, summer fragrance. Sarah Horowitz Parfums Life’s a Beach (Sarah Horowitz Parfums 2019 Summer Banq de Parfum) feels like a soothing, protective suntan lotion for the soul, transporting me to peaceful, happy times in my life, to carefree summers by the seashore and the long-ago laughter of friends and siblings. Beginning with the cool aqua of bergamot and mint, Sarah Horowitz Parfums Life’s a Beach opens like a dawn breeze off the sea, scenting the juicy sweetness of fresh cut pineapple with salt, citrus and mint.  As the sun rises, Life’s a Beach warms to a heart of golden, honeyed orange blossoms and sea salt. Hints of coconut oil and suggestions suntan lotion play off Sarah Horowitz Thran’s “Summer Skin” accord, creating the perfect impression of radiant, sun kissed skin. Sarah Horowitz Parfums Life’s a Beach has me basking on an olfactory beach blanket for several hours before the warmth of the summer afternoon gives way to a sweet, dusky sensuality, an evening scented with the perfumer’s signature Pacific and African Musks. Notes: Bergamot-mint, pineapple, salt, coconut, orange blossom, Summer Skin, Pacific Musk and African Musk– Gail Gross – Senior Editor

Chatillon Lux Weinstrasse review

Winefolly.com

Chatillon Lux Weinstrasse: Is it possible to be reinvigorated, scintillating, soignée on the most scorching days of the year? As the sweat drips off you torrentially? Indeed it is, if you choose (ever so wisely) to bathe yourself in artisan perfumer Shawn Maher’s Wunderbar Weinstrasse (N.B. – our Senior Editor Lauryn Beer reviewed it brilliantly; we are in hearty agreement). There’s an excellent reason why it’s a 2020 finalist for the Art and Olfaction Awards: Weinstrasse is liquid genius, completely original and a joy to wear. You’ll need to imbibe a good Spätlese Riesling – not too sweet – to appreciate their kinship. One whiff and I am back traipsing solo through the route de vin d’Alsace in 1972, attempting to retrace the steps of my father’s people. My amygdala does not lie: the flowery notes, citrus and peach tones of late harvest varietal grapes warble in the palate. Sunwarmed, haylike helichrysum, the modest touch of lavender and cassis sweetened with honeysuckle simply make your mouth water. Weinstrasse is sparkling water on the parched skin as venerable Riesling is to a burgeoning thirst. It’s an affordable summer pleasure. Notes: white grape, honeysuckle, iris, blackcurrant bud, lavender, helichrysum, sandalwood, coumarin, oak moss, musk. Ida Meister, Sr Editor and Natural Perfume Editor

Ineke Hothouse Flower review

Digital Gardenia by Nicoleta©

INeKE Hothouse Flower: Ineke Ruhland is one of our most talented artisans, classically trained and each time I wear any of her fragrances I discover new facets that tell a new story on my skin. The star of Hothouse Flower is gardenia, the diva (and divo) of the fragrance world, nudging aside her sister and brother florals (there’s a reason why Billie Holliday, Joan Crawford, Oscar Wilde and Dorothy Lamour are associated with the flower). Hothouse Flower has become my summer go-to -fragrance. I have always dreamed of going to a tropical island for a vacation and Hothouse Flower takes me there. The initial wet velvet leaf ‘welcome to sunny Tahiti’ introduces the the waxy emerald green leaves that exude musk and intertwine with impossibly white, scandalously provocative petals. The surprise is the fig note along with incense, transforming what might have been a simple soliflore into something much more complex; as wearable on a man as it is on a woman. Notes: Earl Grey Tea, Green Foliage, Cypress, , Gardenia, Galbanum, Fig, Frankincense, : Guaiacwood, Musk, Corn Silk-Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

All of them sound lovely! I’m most interested in the Nishane Ambra Calabria, Salado Carner Barcelona, Neela Vermeire Ashoka, Atelier des Ors Pomelo Rivera, Chatillon Lux Weinstrasse and Ineke Hothouse Flowers. I would be delighted to receive any of these. Scent is such an uplifting medium and I need some lifting up with the year we’re having. Commenting from MD, USA.

  • I own and love Chatillon Lux’s Weinstrasse. Of the things I haven’t tried, I am most intrigued by Nishane’s Ambra Calabria. A Summer fragrance that dries down to vanilla and amber? Yes, please!

  • What a great lineup of perfumes! My favorites of your choices would be Neela Vermeire Ashoka, Nishane Ambra Calabria and Salado Carner Barcelona, but I’d be extremely grateful to win any of the above perfumes. Thank you for such a generous draw. Regards from the USA.

  • Thank you Cafleurebon editors and reviewers. What a generous draw. These fragrances all sound so ‘beachy’ and not ‘bitchy’ at all, the former much needed this summer. We have tried Ineke’s wonderful perfumes (the A-H series) though none of the other ones, but they all sound so fresh and pleasant. In order, these are perfumes I’d love to try:
    1. Ashoka
    2. Life’s a Beach
    3. Shawn Maher’s Weinstrasse
    4. Ineke’s Hothouse, or the sampler
    5. Pomelos Riviera
    6. Salado Carner Barcelona
    7. Nishane Ambra Calabria
    8. Neroli Nuance

    Writing from the USA.

  • Wow what a line up! I would say the one that interests me the most is Ambra Calabria. I love citrus scent, and I love amber scent, but I have never tried any fragrance that combine those two. And I never thought this would work. I would love to have the chance to try it. I would love to win any of these fragrance (especially the one from Nishane and the one from Atelier des ors). Thank you for the opportunity of the giveaway, good luck to everyone!
    I’m from the EU

  • Wow! They all sound great to me but I must say that Ineke’s Perfume Hothouse Flower, Nishane Ambra Calabria, Carner Salado, Sarah Horowitz-Thran’s Life’s a Beach, and Atelier des Ors Pomelos Riviera. I’d be happy to win any of the fragrances to be honest. I’ve never tried anything from these houses before but I’d love to. Thanks for the great review and the great giveaway. Commenting from Kentucky USA.

  • Great post and great choices each sound amazing
NISHANE ambra for me and carner Barcelona
For my wife hothouse flower as she owns ineke

  • Wonderful! Pomelos Riviera sounds fantastic and the most appealing to me – I’m intrigued by the combination of grapefruit and salty notes. Atelier des Ors is a house that continues to produce quality fragrances, time after time. I would love to win this one! I am from Canada!

  • I am intrigued by Neela Vermiere Ashoka, Prosody London, Nishane Ambra Calabria, Atelier des ors Pomelos riviera and ineke hothouse flower. Thanks a million from the United Kingdom

I so much needed this article, just a beautiful article full of glamour and memoirs and hopes for a beautiful calm and enjoyable summer. There are many fragrances spoken in this article that I love to have or smell, for example Ambra Calabria Nishane , Christian Dior Eau Fraȋche, Atelier Des Ors Pomelo Riviera, Life’s a Beach and all of the other ones too. All this fantastics fragrances are of outstanding quality and very well known for their exotics and multi layered scents. Thank you for writing this article and for the opportunity to participate in this draw. I’m commenting from Orlando, Fl.

Wow, what an incredible list! I have never smelled any of these, but I am most interested in Kenzo Parfum D’Été, Christian Dior Eau Fraȋche, Atelier Des Ors Pomelos Riviera, INeKE Hothouse Flower, and Nishane Ambra Calabria. I’m in California, USA

  • Shamrock1313 says:

What a fantastic list – I’ve tried Ambra Calabria (big fan of Nishane) and it’s incredible. Enjoy Salado Carner Barcelona and it’s very good as well. Life’s a Beach sounds interesting for sure. If it was like a sports draft, I would pick Ambra Calabria as my #1 followed by the other 2 I mentioned. With that being said, I would be more than grateful to win any of the fragrances listed. If it happened to be one that is purposely feminine, I would gift it to my girlfriend. She is just starting her fragrance journey due to me and she’s really getting into it. She’s having a blast discovering fragrances that aren’t designers.
Thank you once again for another awesome giveaway.
Stay safe and hopefully we can enjoy Summer as close to normal very soon.

  • These seem like great choices for summer. A number of which I’ve been wanting to try and others that you’ve just introduced me to that sound wonderful. Also Weinstrasse is another great one but I do own that one so of course will not enter to win it. Commenting from CT USA and thank you for this super generous draw! 1.Neela Vermeire Creations Ashok
    2.Kenzo Parfum D’Été

    I am from Bucharest Romania

  • Laurentiu says:

I am intrigued by your choice from Atelier des Ors – Pomelo Riviera. I know their other fragrances which are more heavy, oriental style, but I have no idea how they interpret a light, summer fragrance. The bottle is splendid as well.
Therefore my chance if I were to win is Pomelo Riviera.
    Thanks! EU

  • I would go with Sebastian Jara’s pick – Nishane’s Ambra Calabria as this one seems right between a summer’s day hotness and the coolness of a summer’s evening.
I am from EU and thanks and good luck to everyone!

  • So many wonderful choices, the one that connected with me most would be Nishane ambra calabria because I adore ambers and a summer centered one sounds divine.
I also loved the atelier des Ors Pomelos Riviera.
I’ve always wanted to go to the riviera but haven’t yet so to have an olfactive escape to there would be amazing.

So I’d love to win either the Nishane or the atelier des ors.
    I’m from Ireland.

  • Great lineup of perfumes. I’m curious and i would love to try in the first place Ashoka from Neela Vermeire, i’ve heard a lot of great stuff about it. Also i would love trying Ambra Calabria from Nishane or Pomelo Riviera from Atelier Des Ors. Thanks for the draw, i’m in the EU.

  • lilacdays says:

I’m eager to try out Weinstrasse by Chatillon Lux, Atelier des Ors Pomelos Rivera and Prosody London. Thanks for this fantastic draw. France

  • Ashaka is a great choice! I tried it and I think it would be amazing in hot days. Me personally I actually like using heavier scents in summer, like Opium. The heat brings out the resinous base. Just gorgeous.
Thanks for the draw and the giveaways. I’d like to win Neela’s Ashoka. I live in EU.

  • My favourite of this draw would definitely be the Neela Vermeire. Great read and what a lovely draw let the summer begin! Would love to win one of these:
    Neela Vermeire – Ashoka
Merci Atelier des Ors – Pomelos Riviera
    Living in the EU

  • William Thomas Smallwood says:

I love Amber with a passion ,but most do not vibe with the summer heat. Nishane’s Ambra Calabria seems it will have the wow factor I have been searching for in a summer fragrance!
I am interested in Nishane’s Ambra Calabria. Oregon, US.

  • This list is rather interesting. From it, Chantecaille Vetyver is the one that intrigues me the most, followed by Neela Vermeire Ashoka, Salado Carner Barcelona and Prosody London Neroli Nuance. Given that I’m in the EU, I’m interested in winning Neela Vermeire Ashoka and/or Prosody London Neroli Nuance.

  • the choice is very difficult with this roundup of fragrances, I like the idea of wearing a special perfume even with jeans and a white T-shirt, what is important is my perfume. My favorite is AMBRA CALABRA by Nishane, a perfume full of character, to be worn on summer evenings so as to enhance the freshness of the Calabrian bergamot. I am sure it will be a success.

I know and love Ashoka, Eau Fraiche, and Hothouse Flower. Love the sound of many of these other choices–i especially love the different kinds of summer freshness–salt, sea, green and vegetal, etc. Thanks for this generous draw! I’d love to win–
    Pomelo Riviera
    Ashoka
    Neroli Nuance
    Weinstrasse

    I’m in the US.

  • ElenaChiss says:

Neela’s creations have always intrigued me, but never had the chance to actually test them. From what I read about them, I consider them to be a bridge that connects people and places, a bridge between the Eastern world and the Western world, when Orient and Occident meet.
My choice is ASHOKA. I am in EU. Thank you!

  • This is incredibly generous I loved reading everyone’s favourites. I’d be happy to win any of them and am in the U.K. In particular i love the sound of Prosody Neroli.

  • I would like to win Weinstrasse because I love white wine and I live in Champagne in France in a region where we make very good champagne but also white wine for me, it’s perfect in summer when it’s hot. I also really like the smell of a juicy grapefruit the only grapefruit scent I wore is Eau de pamplemousse rose and I loved it! I I give me if Pomelo riviera he did better?
    I live in France.

  • This was such a delightful read, I couldn’t wait to see what the next editor would pick.
The perfumes that appealed especially to me were Weinstrasse that I heard so many wonderful things about, and also Hothouse Flower, being a lover of gardenia.
A very close group of “seconds” consisted of Ambra Calabria (perfect balance between cooling and warming? I need that in my life!), Ashoka (sandalwood is contemplative par excellence and I would love to smell an exercise of perfumery which makes it wearable and graceful in summer) and Prosody London (neroli is one of my favorite floral notes and this perfume promises to be a particular, unique and refreshing neroli). Being in the EU, I would love to win one of the last three perfumes, or the Atelier des Ors- Pomelos Riviera. Thank you for yet another wonderful selection and description of perfumes!

  • My favourites were Ambra Calabria, Pomelo Riviera and Neroli Nuance, although that vintage Dior would be something to sample. Bit of a time machine that one. Would love to win Pomelo Riviera, Neroli Nuance or Hothouse Flower. Really enjoy the greenery that Ineke puts in her perfumes. That cypress note…..superb. Canada.

  • I Iike a lot of those choices, the Life’s a Beach and the Carner Salado especially. US

The one that looks really cool is the Christian Dior Eau Fraȋche vintage version, we know that back in the day they used better ingredients and that one sounds really amazing.
I live in CA and is starting to get really hot here. Hopefully I’d win one of these excellent choises for a cool summer.
    My picks are
    Neela Vermeire Ashoka
    Nishane Ambra Calabria
    Atelier des Ors Pomelo Riviera

    Thanks and be safe!

  • My favorite, within this wonderful article, is Pomelo Riviera. I love the note of grapefruit during the summer months. If lucky: Pomelo Riviera, Ashoka, Weinstrasse, Hothouse Flower, Ambra Calabria, Life’s a Beach, Ineke sample set. Thanks for another fabulous draw! Mich USA

  • The only one of the mentioned fragrances I have tried so far is Salado. The cucumber note, the soft orange blossom and the slightly aquatic accord surely smell like summer. It reminded me a bit of Gucci pour Homme II.

Ambra Calabria and Pomelo Riviera sound great, too! Would love to win one of them, of course. 😉

    Best wishes from Germany

  • chiaravirga says:

Such a great selection of fragrances! My favourite summer scent has been for years Costa Azzurra by Tom Ford, but I’m looking forward to discover other excellent scents! Thank you for sharing this selection.
    All of them sound lovely!
I would love to win Ashoka by Neela Vermeire, Pomelo Riviera by Atelier des Ors or Ambra Calabria by Nishane.
Thank you for the opportunity! I live in Italy, EU

  • maria mihalache says:

Woow, how many wonders are presented, I can’t imagine a summer without perfumes with green, ozone, lemon or fresh orange flowers, especially at temperatures of +40 degrees Celsius. I would love to win any of the fragrances reviewed.
Thanks for the Cafleurbon reviews and for the giveaway. I’m from Romania, EU

  • From the list, my absolute favourite is Kenzo’s Parfum d’Ete. I had this one in the 90s and for me it is a timeless masterpiece.
I would like to win Pomelo Riviera.
    Europe. Thanks!

  • Lovely summer selection!
theres a few I’d love but I’m in the wrong zone, le boo.
    But I would love if I’m lucky…
Nishane’s Ambra Calabria, Ineke’s Hothouse Flower, Neela Vermeire’s Ashoka & Pomelos Riviera from Atelier des Ors.
The hand sanitizer will also be great for when I have to go back to work & deal with the public again…
    Many thanks!

  • I love Ambra Calabria and I wish I had a bottle of Pomelo Riviera – it’s so refreshing.
Some of my favourites for summer include Chanel Paris-Deauville, Hermes Eau de Neroli Dore, Jacques Fath Green Water, L’Artisan Un Air de Bretagne and Parfum d’Empire Azemour.

I’d be interested in Pomelo Riviera. I’m in EU

  • From the reviews, I’d be curious about Pomelos Riviera, Salado, Ambra Calabria and Chantecaille Vetyver. But if I were to choose one from the visuals, OMG – there is only one -Life’s a beach – it looks great and so, so, soooo appealing 🙂

For winning, I wouldn’t say no to Neroli Nuance, Pomelos Riviera, Ashoka, Ambra Calabria.
    I’m in Europe.

  • Wow. They all sound so good, it is hard to pick favorites. But, since I have to, I choose Ashoka and Weinstrasse. They both sound amazing. As to what I would want to win… all of them, but first Ashoka or Weinstrasse

    Ashoka
    Weinstrasse
    Ambra Calabria
    Pomelos Riviera
    Neroli Nuance
    Life’s a Beach
    Hothouse Flower.

    I am in the US.

  • These fragrances all sound amazing but I’m still most taken by Nishane’s Ambra Calabria which was Sebastian’s choice. A close second is Salado by Carner Barcelona or Ashoka by Neela Vermeire. I’d be totally stoked to win any of the three. Thank you for the giveaways. I’m in USA

  • herman2625 says:

  • The two fragrances listed here I have tried and love are Nishane Ambra Calabria, a wonderful blend of cool citrus and warmer notes, and Kenzo Parfum D’Ete, a true summer classic. I really enjoyed the breadth of choices listed here and I would love to win the following:

    Nishane Ambra Calabria

    Sarah Horowitz Life’s a Beach

    In the USA.

  • Camille Sheil says:

This list blew away. Stunning! So different! Some of the notes and accords are new to me to even read about! Is perfumery discovering another wave of innovation? Ashoka has me so intrigued by the notes that I’m not even quite sure if it would work …and yet I want it to! I’m just getting Gardenias and when I read the description, I thought that gardenia would be up higher in the notes list than it is. It seems a little nestled among other notes (but what can you tell in writing) and if so, I feel as if I would love it even more! And Salado is green and beachy but in a unique way. I love it! I love greens and aquatic and to have that’s not thoroughly in the ocean (seaweed level) is amazing.

My 3 new loves from this list are Hothouse Flower by Ineke Perfumes, Salado by Carner Barcelona, and Ashoka by Neela Vermeire Creations. If I win, I would be so happy to receive one of these.

Thank you so much for this incredible list, amazing fragrances and draw! Really made my day! I live in New Hampshire USA!

  • Sunny Chaudhary says:

They all sound great to me but I must say that Ineke’s Perfume Hothouse Flower, Nishane Ambra Calabria, Carner Salado, Sarah Horowitz-Thran’s Life’s a Beach, and Atelier des Ors Pomelos Riviera. I’d be happy to win any of the fragrances to be honest. I’ve never tried anything from these houses before but I’d love to. Thanks for the great review and the great giveaway.

    I am in USA

  • Sp wonderful choice. I enjoyed descriptions of all perfumes, but Ashoka made me dream about sea:
‘…breezy days spent on an idyllic beach, sipping juice from a freshly opened coconut” – sounds amazing. I would like to win from:
    Nishane Ambra Calabria
    Atelier Des Ors Pomelo Riviera
    Neela Vermeire Ashoka

I’m in Oregon and I am completely smitten with Ashoka. Every Neela Vermeire I’ve tried has been exquisite so it’s no surprise her milky fig would win my heart.

The whole list is pitch perfect, it would be nice to test the delights of : Salado by Carner Barcelona, Neroli Nuance by Prosody, or the contents of the Ineke sampler.

  • I love reading these reviews— I find just the delicious descriptions alone to be refreshing and invigorating! I already know and love Ashoka, and would love to win a bottle! Also of interest would be Wienstraase (I love Rieslings!), Ambre Calabria because I love all ambers and want to try a lightweight summer version (also want to start sampling Nishane’s fragrances— I keep reading about how good they are!)
But of course would be thrilled to win any of these bottles!
    Thanks for this generous draw!

  • Jake Dauod says:

My favorite choices would have to be from Nishane, Carner Barcelona, and Atelier des Ors. I feel like those brands truly embody what a fragrance brand should be in terms of ingredients, presentation, and the juice itself. Thank you for this super generous draw, and if I were fortunate enough to be picked, I would love to win Ambra Calabria, Salado, or Pomelos Riviera. Kind regards from Illinois, USA.

  • badjobkaren says:

Wow Kenzo d’ete blast from my past! Someone gave that to me as a bday present when I was teenager. The bottle! I always felt so posh to have a bottle of perfume live in my school locker and for a while, it was Kenzo d’ete . Memories.

I’m in USA. Would be interested in any of the perfumes. Fingers crossed!

  • Margarita K says:

Ah, the summer fragrances, light and breezy and colorful like the summer dresses. “..when the living is easy…”, but this summer probably not that much, there will be no outside concerts, music and food festivals. We’ll have to turn to our fragrances for comfort once again.
    I’d love to win:

  • Excellent round up especially since I am familiar with ineke and NISHANE. Quality all the way
I would like to win the carner salado and Neela Ashoka
    USA reader

  • I think the one that intrigues me the most is INeKE Hothouse Flower, since its described as a “brotherly floral.” Its hard for me to associate florals, especially gardenia, with men, so I’m very curious about it.

I am interested in winning everything! USA

  • ThatMulattoDude says:

Appreciate the content and certainly identify with some of the anguish of not being able to enjoy summer as desired. From the selections, I would choose Ambra Calabria, Weinstrasse, or Salado. Thank you for the opportunity for the giveaway! -Virginia, USA

  • Such a great read for me this morning. The choices from each writer are so diverse and intriguing. I have some of these in my playbook as well and would have to agree they are perfect for summer. My choice would have to be Hothouse Flower, Pomelo Reviera, and Salado. Cheers to a better Summer for all.

  • Summer is a tough time for me to wear perfume. Citrus scents generally don’t do it for me. Unique summer scents such as Nishane Ambra Calabria and Neela Vermeire Ashoka sound like exactly what I would reach for on a sunny day. So they would be the ones I’m most interested in winning. Pomelo Riviera or Neroli Nuance would also be worth a try for sure. Best wishes from Denmark.

  • Kenzo Parfum D’Été was the perfume of my high school, Nicoleta 🙂 I bought him again a few years ago, but I didn`t feel it like in there days … I would love to have a chance to win Nishane Ambra Calabria or Atelier des Ors Pomelos Riviera. I live in EU.

  • Elizabeth T. says:

A fabulous list, like always! Thank you for this great compilation. I especially loved the inclusion of Prosody London Neroli Nuance (I had never heard of this house, but will have to check it out) and Chatillon Lux Weinstrasse (I once lived in Missouri and it’s so refreshing to see an independent perfumer from that part of the world).

I’d be happy to win any of these! I’m in the USA. Thanks again!

I think all sound like great choices. I have only tried Ashoka which is stunningly beautiful fragrance. This is a great catalogue to what to try this summer. My attention is mostly drawn by Sebastian’s choice of Nishane-Ambra Calabria smelling zesty and zingy, Lauryn’s choice of Prosody London’s Neroli Nuance, which is playful and Fresh, Gail’s choice of Sarah Horowitz- Life’s a beach sounds like Grace and Frankie would wear it, so yes! And Ida’s choice for Chatillon Lux’s Weinstrasse because who doesn’t want to smell like glass of crisp white wine. I’m also interested in Ineke’s hot house flower described by Michelyn, a classy floral. I would love to try all of these. Marit, UK

I enjoyed so much reading about the summer fragrances the editors will be wearing. I agree so much that we can take solace in our favorite perfumes. I would choose Life’s A Beach, Weinstrasse, Nishane Ambra Calabria or the deluxe sampler from Ineke Perfume if I were a winner.
