I recently experienced the captivating essence of Farmacia SS Annuniziata 1561 Venere (translated into English it means Venus),  which debuted in 2021 in celebration of the house’s 460th anniversary commemorating its original opening in 1561. The evolution of a city’s beloved apothecary has transformed it into a cutting-edge pharmacy without losing its charm and history. In 2006, the company expanded its skincare range by introducing a line of fragrances designed to complement its existing products and enhance the overall user experience.

Venere boasts an alluring blend of vanilla, fruity nectarous sweetness, musky powderiness, white floral delicacy, woody depths, and the sensual warmth of amber wood.  Wearing Farmacia SS Annunziate 1561 Venere, be prepared to be captivated as it unleashes an inspiring, stirring aura and develops on the warmth of the skin. It begins with an uplifting, vibrant tang reminiscent of nature’s awakening on a dewy morning. Its fruity top notes fuse with luxurious, sweet floral as the essence unfolds, creating a lovely, uplifting, captivating aroma. As the tapestry of vibrant and elegant floral intertwines, it fuses with the warm embrace of sensual, soft, and powdery whispers, blossoming into a symphony of scents that dance upon the skin, awakening the senses to a world of beauty and grace.

Featured Notes: Bergamot, Pink Pepper, Geranium, Honeysuckle, Peach, Jasmine, White Musks, Vanilla, Amber Woods.

Disclosure: My review is based on a sample of Venere from Fragrance Vault opinion, and my words are my own.

  • I’ve enjoyed many fragrances from Farmacia SS Annunziata over the years, but I have not tried Venere yet. It sounds feminine and beautiful. I loved Sandi’s comment that the opening is “reminiscent of nature’s awakening on a dewy morning”. I also love that the warm base notes lend a soft and powdery aspect to the fragrance. I would love to own a bottle of Venere. Thank you, Sandi, for the beautiful review, and thank you to Fragrance Vault for the generous giveaway. I am located in the USA.

  • This one immediately struck a bit of a personal chord, as I’ve always fancied my MUCH better half as a personification of Venus. (Yeah yeah insert barfing emoji here, whatever lol) The scent itself, with sweet florals, fruity top notes and amber sounds like it perfectly reflects her image! All that coming from a house with such an interesting history! Submitted with intrigue from Ohio, USA. 🙂

Although I was unaware of this fragrance house until I read this review by Sandi Lundberg, I love all the different notes combined in this fragrance and its history. Moreover, I was impressed by the fact that they have been around for so many years, with a history in their local community dating back to 1561 with the opening of the apothecary store by Domenico Brunetti. I visited their website, but the truth is that I would love to go in person to see this excellent establishment offering such a great variety of personal care items and perfumy. Thank you for introducing this brand and the opportunity to enter this draw, commenting from Orlando, FL, USA.

I follow a perfume blogger that went to Esxense in Milan for the perfume expo and went to Florence afterward to visit this incredible, historic pharmacy. She had so many high praises for their fragrances, and mentioned how beautiful Venere is…
We have very similar taste in fragrance, so I know I would love this one most definitely! Sounds so elegant and easy to wear. Love it.

I’m curious about Farmacia SS Annunziate 1561 Venere, and its debut around the arrival of the apothecary’s 460th anniversary. That seems monumentous and like maybe the perfume itself captures celebration. Maybe even sweet and bubbly like champagne from the vanilla and peach and honeysuckle. It sounds sophisticated and sensual. I bet it’s delicious. From OR, USA.

I don’t know why, but as I’ve aged as a man, I’m more emboldened to wear geranium and white florals, especially as Spring begins to stretch her legs – but enveloping those in a ripe citrus, peppery, vanillic spice… that seems like the perfect cloud to bask in on a cool, sunny spring evening.

  • I know fruity/floral/musky fragrances have been called unoriginal, but the truth is, I am a big fan, and they truly appeal to the senses! I agree with the article that it can be associated with beauty and grace, which are wonderfully feminine characteristics. And I do love Sandi’s description of it like a symphony dancing on the skin… Thank you for this generous draw. I live in NH, USA.

I love fragrances that could be described as dewy. The notes of Venere sound both uplifting and luxurious. Honeysuckle, jasmine, and peach–along with vanilla–well, it just doesn’t get any better than that. I would love to tru fragrance from such a venerable institution like Farmacia SS Annunziata 1561.

    Thanks for the great review.

This scent sounds like stepping into a lush Italian garden in full bloom. The opening of citrus freshness instantly transports one to the Mediterranean coast. But what really captivates me are the floral heart notes – delicate hints of jasmine and rose that evoke images of blooming flowers under the warm Italian sun.

This brings to ming the movie Call Me By Your Name

    Cheers from WI, USA
