Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M+ Ginger by Karl.

Geza Schöen, a perfumer renowned for his unique approach to scent creation, has said, “M+ Molecule is perfumery deconstructed. You don’t need dozens of ingredients to make a great fragrance. In fact, the opposite is true. Minimalism brings clarity.” This philosophy finds its embodiment in Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M + Ginger, a fragrance that captivates with its simplicity and evokes the essence of natural purity.

What’s striking about ginger is how it combines freshness and spiciness in one ingredient. I’ve always loved that, when I smelt this new ‘ginger oil fresh’ from the Ivory Coast, I knew I had to do Molecule 01 + Ginger. It’s so clean, so pure, with a sharp effervescent quality that plays beautifully in the landscape of Molecule 01.” – (Geza Schöen in a quote to Michelyn)

Ginger, sourced from the Ivory Coast, is the fizzy top note of Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M+ Ginger. This single element, fresh and lively, carries an invigorating and distinctive spiciness. Paired with Molecule 01 (Iso E Super) the combination becomes an exploration of contrasts. Schöen’s description of the partnership as “perfumery’s version of a booster rocket” vividly conveys the dynamic synergy between the crisp, zesty ginger and the enveloping Molecule 01. This fusion results in a tactile experience that is best described as velvety and cocooning. The ginger’s natural freshness harmonizes with Iso E Super’s warmth, creating a sensory tapestry. The true beauty of Molecule 01 M+ Ginger lies in its purity. In a realm dominated by complex ingredients. Schöen’s vision for Molecule + is a demonstration to the brand’s commitment to minimalism, showcasing how a restrained approach to composition can offer clarity and depth that resonates profoundly this fragrance dares to strip away the layers, inviting us to explore the essence of singular materials.

Beyond its olfactory experience, the visual language of Molecule 01 M+ Ginger underscores its essence. The interplay of simplicity and sophistication is not only evident in the fragrance but also in its design. The minimalist aesthetics speak volumes about the brand’s ethos. The energy that  the synthetic Molecule 01 brings to the naturals; this dynamism is mirrored in the visual representation—a testament to the brand’s ability to infuse vitality into the simplest of elements.

The history of Escentric Molecules is a narrative of disruption. Since its establishment in 2006, the brand has challenged conventions and ignited conversations about perfumery’s potential. With Escentric Molecules Molecule 01+ Ginger, Schöen’s vision of minimalism reaches its zenith, serving as a beacon for those seeking olfactory experiences that transcend the commonplace. M+ Ginger stands as a study in perfumery minimalism, an embodiment of Geza Schöen’s philosophy that celebrates clarity through control. Through the interplay of ginger’s freshness and Iso E Super’s sensuality, the fragrance encapsulates a journey that is both visceral and cerebral. It is a testament to the brand’s dedication to elevating simplicity to an art form.

  • I love that magic behind the molecule is explained. My favourite tiktoker loves this and she talks about this a lot and I want to try it. I like how you wrote that ginger brings freshness and spiciness. I’m from eu.

Thank you for the review of Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 + Ginger, Karl! I love this line and I find Iso E Super to be one of my favorite notes in fragrance as of recently, as it really just works magic on the chemistry of my skin and creates such a one-of-a-kind scent. I love the addition of ginger and think it would really add a fresh spiciness that would beautifully complement the Iso E Super. My favorite fragrance from Geza Schöen is Molecule 02.

  • I have and love Molecule 01. I wear it layered and also by itself. It’s a shame that some people cannot smell ISO E. Cheers NYC

  • I love Escentric Molecules M+Iris, so I’d love to try M+Ginger! Karl says the brand “elevates simplicity to an art form”, which I believe is VERY hard to do, and which definitely makes me want to smell M+Ginger. Thanks for the review and giveaway!

I live in NJ! My favorite thing about this review is the manner in which the ginger note was described, “fresh but spicy and a little effervescent” . My favorite Geza Schöen fragrance is Molecule 01+ Black Tea

I’ve tried the original Molecule 01, and find it to be one of the most complimented fragrances I’ve ever tried. The idea that the fusion of Iso E Super and ginger allows the composition to reach it’s zenith is something that I find nice, since I love the use of ginger in many fragrances. I live in Maryland USA.

Notes: Ginger Ivory Coast, Iso E Super. A wonderful description by Karl and Geza just highlights the beauty of Ginger the fresh and spicy aspects make it such a versatile ingredient. The fact that this house focus is on simplicity and minimalism just amplifies the beauty of this house. My favourite is Molecule 01. Thanks a million from the United Kingdom

Thanks a lot from the UK

  • I love ginger. I’m not so sure about iso E super as I seem to be nose blind to it. Would love to see if this particular configuration brings the ginger to light for me. In maryland.

Thanks for the fun review KArl.

I always enjoy reading about the molecule series because it gives me an insight into perfumery. The combination of fresh ginger oil and Iso E Super is quite a stunner.

I enjoyed the Vetveral fragrance (I forget the number, perhaps Molecule 02 or 03)

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • I am a fan of Geza Schöen and the note of ginger in fragrances. I liked that the ginger was sourced from the Ivory Coast. One of my favs is Frangipani. Yes, I’m also a fan of Ormonde Jayne. Thanks for another awesome draw. Mich USA

  • Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M+ Ginger is intriguing because it honors the minimalist philosophy of the line. I have two bottles of Eccentric Molecule 01 and I appreciate minimalist fragrances when they create a great mysterious aura that sometimes even more complex fragrances might not achieve. I am in US

  • This sounds really lovely, I love ginger, and twit enjoyed the small sample of molecule 01. I enjoyed learning about the ginger oil. Thank you as always for the lovely review, the chance for the draw, and this new scent. So far, I have enjoyed molecule 01. I’m from the us.

Ginger is one of my favorite note. It adds a zest to the fragrance. Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M+ Ginger would be a great layering perfume.

  • The appealing factor is I have liked this molecule line from the start. Wouldn’t mind winning this bottle. My fave Geza frag is gs02. US

  • Of the various releases in the M+ Molecule collection, M+ Ginger is probably the fragrance I’m most excited to try. Warm Iso E Super is at its best with some other distinguishing note to take advantage of its backdrop, and I imagine spicy ginger’s fresh zing is a welcome foil, balancing and playing off the Molecule 01. I appreciate the study in restraint, making the most of a narrow palette. It also sounds very easy to wear. Thanks for the review, Karl.

I’m in the USA. I don’t think I’ve tried any of Geza Schöen’s fragrances, but I’d love to try this one. Thanks!

  • I’ve always been a fan of simplicity, sometimes less is more. Ginger is one of my favorite culinary ingredients and I love the aroma. This fragrance seems like it would really let the ginger note shine! I’m in the USA.

  • Ginger is a master unifier and Iso E super brings the crowds! A perfect pairing with beautiful marketing materials and packaging. This is a very exciting addition to the Molecule 01 family and I can’t wait to try it. Home run by Karl. Thank you, I live in NY.

  • I wear Molecule 01 regularly and love it. I’ve received unsolicited compliments on it as well. I’m sure the addition of ginger will bring more interest and enjoyment or me. Thanks, Karl for the review and thanks to Essentric for the giveaway. New Jersey, USA

  • I’ve actually sampled Molecule 01 + Ginger and I loved it beyond belief. Molecule 01 is already amazing on my skin, so that refreshing zing was an instant love for me. I’d love to win this bottle. I’d say this is my favorite of Mr. Schoen’s work. I mean, Karl said it best: the freshness of the ginger is a perfect contrast to the warmth of Iso e super.
    I live in Illinois, USA.

  • Love the added spiciness of ginger to classic iso e super – super keen to try it and see how it compares to Karl’s experience of “perfumery minimalism” London, UK

  • When these three were released recently, I heard so many great things about this one! The note of ginger is so beautiful and I like the way you describe it here as both spicy and fresh. I especially like the phrase “sensory tapestry.” My favorite fragrance by Geza Schoen has got to be Ormonde Woman. But, I also own Molecule + Iris. In TX

  • Great review by Karl here.
Geza Schoen is a fantastic perfumist and from what I´ve smelled from him are purely gems. My favorite one yet is X for men by Clive Christian.
Molecule 01 M+1 Ginger is surely something simple but beautiful. It really shows that many times less is more.
The simplicity is truly an art form and this fragrance is a perfect example. I hope I get to try this one soon.

  • Finally a review that I can pick out all the notes with the reviewer.
I get the warm sensuality of the ISO e super and live the fresh and spicy of the ginger.
    Thanks for the giveaways.

  • I a fan of the original Escentric Molecule 01. Fortunately it works well on my skin and I can detect the woody patchouli scent of Iso E super. Combining it with a zesty, peppery ginger seems like a natural pairing. Would love to try this. I’m in the US.

  • FragranceIsMe says:

Molecule 01 has been a staple in our collection. The fresh spiciness that ginger adds, makes this a fragrance we will have to add. Maybe via this giveaway 🙂

I haven’t tried anything yet which was made by Geza Schoen, but I’ve been very interested in trying his works. I’m interested in trying Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M+ Ginger for multiple reasons, e.g. I like ginger a lot in fragrances, I’m interested to see how Schoen uses Iso E Super, and I’m interested in seeing what the minimalism is like in Escentric Molecules fragrances. I live in the U.S.A.

  • Michael Prince says:

What appeals to me about Karl’s review of Molecule 01 M + Ginger is learning more about this brand and their creative, simplistic, and straight forward fragrances. I’ve always loved the note of Ginger in fragrances and Escentric Molecules have always came up with amazing creations since their inception in 2006. My favorite fragrance by Geza Schoen is Escentric Molecule 01 featuring Iso-E Super. I am from the USA.

  • Thanks for the article Karl!

I’m a huge fan of Molecule 01-03 and have been looking to try their Escentric line. The art of minimalism is often underestimated and Geza truly is a master in showing that less can be more.

    Greetings from the UK!
