Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M + Ginger, Black Tea and Guaiac Wood (Geza Schoen) 2023 + Pick Your Pheromone Giveaway

Geza Schoen Escentric Molecules

In 2005, perfumer Geza Schoen (Geza Schön) changed the olfactory landscape with his introduction of Escentric 01 and Molecule 01. Over the past (soon to be thirteen) years, I have interviewed Geza Schoen numerous times for ÇaFleureBon as well as for other publications. If anyone would have asked me that “Iso E Super in a bottle” would become one of the most well-known niche fragrances in the world back then, I would have been skeptical. Geza told me how it all happened, and it was happenstance. He was testing ingredients in his lab and just dabbed on Iso E Super before going clubbing. Women were attracted to the scent, which was pheromonal and asked where they could buy it. In his own words:

well the initial moment of it all to happen was in autumn 1990. I had just smelled Iso E Super for the first time at Haarmann and Reimer (now Symrise)  when I realised that there is some olfactory magic in that stuff. So I gave it a friend of mine to wear on a Friday night and we went to our hometown bar and just stood around for a few minutes when this young woman showed up in front of us saying : “who smells so nice here“ – I then spoke to her and explained what it was, she mentioned that she was in love with Fahrenheit and Tresor, two completely different fragrances yet they both had a big chunk of Iso E Super in its formula, Fahrenheit 25%, Tresor 20% – the link was quite obvious herewith.” -Geza Schoen

His fragrances (for his own brands or for other commissions, which include Ormonde Jayne 4 Corners of The Earth, Clive Christian, Diesel, Boudicca Wode amongst others) have a signature that is uniquely his. I learned of the new additions to the Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M+ Collection on February 13, 2023 but wanted Geza Schoen to speak directly to his latest creations, Escentric Molecules M + Ginger, Black Tea and Guaiac Wood (brand extensions of 2021’s Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M+ Iris, Patchouli and Mandarin) all based on one of the most game changing perfumes of the past 20 years, Molecule 01. About Escentric Molecules M +Molecule + is all about match-making. It’s about taking this phenomenal molecule, Iso E Super and discovering how a single fragrance accord creates a whole new sexual chemistry. I have two rules of engagement for Molecule +. First, only one fragrance accord is matched with Molecule 01 for each fragrance. Second, the partner is a natural since the complexity of a natural plays best against the simplicity of the molecule.  Molecule + Ginger pairs Molecule 01 with a top note, Molecule + Black Tea with a heart note, and Molecule + Guaiac Wood with a base note. Molecule + is perfumery deconstructed. You don’t need dozens of ingredients to make a great fragrance. In fact, the opposite is true. Minimalism brings clarity.” -Geza Schoen

Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M + Ginger

On Escentric Molecules  Molecules 01 M + Ginger:What’s striking about ginger is how it combines freshness and spiciness in one ingredient. I’ve always loved that, when I smelt this new ‘ginger oil fresh’ from the Ivory Coast, I knew I had to do Molecule + Ginger. It’s so clean, so pure, with a sharp effervescent quality that plays beautifully in the landscape of Molecule 01.”-Geza Schoen

Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M + Black Tea

On Escentric Molecules Molecules 01 M+ Black Tea: “There’s not only one black tea in the world. I wanted to bring out the various facets of this complex aroma to make my own accord using an extract of black tea as an infusion together with a maté tea absolue. What I love about black tea is its subtlety. The way the airiness plays against the earthiness and the bitter, fresh notes play against the floral aspect, all with a light touch.” -Geza Schoen

Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M + Guaiac Wood

Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M + Guaiac Wood courtesy of Escentric Molecules

On Escentric Molecules M Molecules 01+ Guaiac Wood:Guaiac wood has the smokiness and aromatic quality of a great whisky together with a creamy warmth. It has a gentle ‘cocooning around the fireplace in winter’ feel to it. It’s like emulsified smoke that melts into the Iso E Super to make a skin-scent that is super-sexy and erogenous.” -Geza Schoen

I enjoyed reading Michelyn’s story about how Molecule 01 was found to be so appealing while Geza Schoen dabbed on some Iso E Super before clubbing. I also liked how Geza Schoen talked about the effervescent quality of ginger. I was glad that Stephen enjoyed the ginger version the most, since I think I’d enjoy that one the most myself. I’d love to win a bottle of Molecule 01 M+ Ginger. I live in Maryland USA. I’ve tried Molecule 01 at work, and got many compliments on how great it smelled. Thank you for another amazing giveaway.

  • ramsesperez52 says:

I would live to win the Escentric Molecule 01 + Guaiac Wood. It sounds right up Ku alley. I like that Steven said it’s very versatile and can be applied to all occasions plus it’s sweet. I like how MICHELYN described it as a great whiskey with warmth, very cozy indeed. Cheers from the USA.

  • I like how Geza says the Ginger brings freshness and spiciness with one ingredient. And it being a new ginger note from the Ivory Coast sounds interesting. Would love to try M+ Ginger. I live in Tennessee, USA.

  • Always enjoy watching and reading about new fragrances especially from a house as interested as this one! Great, video by Steven, and informative article by Michelyn and Mr. Geza Schoen. It’s always nice to hear directly from the perfumer/creators. I live in the USA and would love to win Escentric Molecule Molecule 01 M + Black Tea

  • Michelyn & Steven!!! ❤️❤️❤️
The interview is SO eye-opening!!! Knowing Geza Schoen’s “rules of engagement” and thoughts about “new sexual chemistry” make these fragrances 3D rather than 2D (for me). These insights are really rare & valuable. I’m even more interested in the entire line now! ❤️
Steven’s videos are always the best! Fantastic technical breakdown! So detailed and relatable at the same time! ❤️

  • Some of the greatest creations and inventions were made by happenstance. From bubble wrap to silly putty, and this beautiful olfactive epiphany that is the Molecule line. Mr. Schoen’s simplistic approach to aroma-chemistry draws you in from the first spray to the sillage left behind you. I remember wearing Molecule 04 at work, and I was so anosmic to it that I had no idea it was turning heads until a teammate asked what it was so that she could by her partner a bottle, and a guest stopped me in my tracks to tell my how amazing I smelled. Since then I have purchased it only the full sample set but 5 full bottles of Mr. Schoen’s creations. Many of which I give credit to Steven’s suggestions. I admit, I’m a blind buyer and love 99.99% of everything I’ve ever purchased because I love the variety. I love to train my nose to pick out individual notes. And I love to just smell things! Recently I have fallen in love with tea-based fragrances and can’t wait to get my nose on Molecule 01+Black Tea. I know it will be an amazing addition to my collection. As an owner of +Mandarin and +Iris, I know this is sure to be a winner.

  • From the written intros I was reminded I have followed this line for almost 13 years myself. And from Gaza I found out each of the three were paired with a top or a middle or a base note. From the video I learned some layering tips for these. I’d like to win the one with the black tea. US

  • I have tried few of the Molecule and Molecule + fragrances and agree that the simplicity of them really makes them shine. Molecule+ Iris is probably my fave apart from the original trio. As far as these new ones go, I think Mr. Shoen picked some great notes to explore. Ginger is one of the most interesting top notes, black tea is an absolute favoirte of mine, and guaiac wood is a staple base in modern perfumery. As a tea lover, I really appreciated Mr. Schoen’s comments about the note’s duality as it juxtaposes bitter against fruity and earthy against airy. I appreciate tea-based fragrances for their therapeutic value and I was ecstatic to hear Steven say it had all those calming and relaxing vibes that I long for in such scents. That said, if my comment is chosen, I would pick Molecule 01+ Black Tea. I live in NC, USA.

  • I feel like what sets Molecule + Ginger apart is its simplicity. The fragrance features just two notes, allowing the natural complexity of ginger to shine through. The fragrance’s base note of Molecule 01 is a perfect complement to the ginger, adding depth and dimension to the scent without overpowering it. I live in FL

  • Steven always does a great job of evaluating and reviewing these amazing fragrances. To me the Ginger one sounds the most appealing and I can see myself wearing it a lot with a few of my other Colognes. From Puerto Rico

  • I agree Geza has a signature that one can smell in his creations for different brands. M+ collection is a great natural extension of originals that add a twist and even solve the layering dilemma for some. My choice is Molecules 01 M + Ginger. I am in US.

  • I would love to sample the Molecule 01 + Guaiac Wood. Molecule 01 + Patchouli was fantastic, and I’m very curious to know how these two woody fragrance notes (Guaiac Wood & ISO E Super) combine together. Either way, thanks for the review as always @Redolessence

  • I have 05 and love it.
I have read about the 01 with the added ingredients.
The ginger is the most interesting to me and would most certainly be my choice.
    Oklahoma USA

  • Oh man, I literally looked up ginger fragrances last night and the Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M + Ginger showed up! It didn’t have any reviews as of last night, so I was super curious. Imagine my surprise to see Steven’s video about the 3 new releases, plus the giveaway!

The ginger is my top choice, even just seeing Steven’s reaction to smelling it on paper makes it my top choice. He just gives like a sigh of relief when smelling it, and talking about its effervescence makes me really want to try it now!

I also thought it was hilarious reading about Micheyln’s description of Geza’s experience wearing ISO E Super at the club and getting people’s reactions from it! I’ve never worn straight up ISO E Super, and must give it a try.

    I’m located in Pennsylvania, USA!

  • I loved how Michelyn related Geza’s experience of wearing it out clubbing and the reactions he received. I have read every article based on his creations here at CaFleureBon.
Geza said this so simply and true, “You don’t need dozens of ingredients to make a great fragrance. In fact, the opposite is true. Minimalism brings clarity.”
Steven always gives such great personal descriptions. I loved how he described the ginger in this video.
Therefore, that is the one I am going with as my choice should I win. I am a huge fan of Escentric 01. It has become a nightly ritual before I go to bed. I find I sleep so much better when I use it. (Thanks, Geza, for the great shut-eye.)
    I am in the USA.

  • Love the detailed reviews as always. Steven’s descriptions are always so spot on and how he would wear and layer the fragrances. I really appreciate all the effort Michelyn puts in with interviewing Schoen and informing us of the backstory behind the scents. M+01 Black Tea is my pick- NY, USA <3

  • Geza Schoen is highly respected in the world of perfumery, and his innovative approach to fragrance has earned him a dedicated following among perfume enthusiasts.would like to try some of his new items

  • These are game changer fragrances.
The fact Geza Schoen has brought the Molecules to the market, it has revolutionized the olfactory for all.

I think this is the beginning of other molecules to come, and as long as Geza brings them, I am all in.

I am for anything Geza has created but if I have to choose, I will pick Molecules M Molecules 01+ Guaiac Wood.

Great article, Michelyn, and great video Steven.

Congrats to Geza for his new releases, and thanks for the giveaway.

    From Massachusetts.

  • I enjoyed learning that each M+ series is composed of M+ a top, mid and base note, it seems obvious now but I hadn’t realized it. I also enjoyed learning about each of the 3 new compositions from Geza Schoen himself. Such as why he chose ginger, black tea, and guaiac wood and what he liked about each combined with Molecule 01. From Steven’s video I enjoyed his vivid descriptions and comparisons like to Le Labo Gaiac 10. I’ve not tried any Molecule fragrances yet, of all the previous releases I’d most like to try M+ Iris. As for a note I’d like to see if he does another series, perhaps benzoin. I really liked Geza Schoen’s saying of M+ Guaiac Wood, “smokiness and aromatic quality of a great whisky together with a creamy warmth. It has a gentle ‘cocooning around the fireplace in winter’ feel to it”. Sounds great to me. So M+ Guaiac Wood would be my choice. Thanks for the generous draw. From CT, USA.

  • I NEED M+ Black Tea!

Although Ginger sounds great, I am THE biggest tea lover. Stephen seemed to enjoy it, and he is a Tea fan as well. So I am glad he approved. But Geza’s description really is what made me NEED M+ Black Tea. By not going typical and creating a new accord of black tea and mate absolute, it sounds wonderful.

  • Perfume_Madness says:

Great story by Michelyn and naturally Stephen’s video brought me here. I’ve never been lucky enough to try Eccentric Molecules but I would love to try Molecule 01 M + Black Tea! Thanks, Missouri, USA

  • Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M + Ginger Would be my choice. What I enjoy about Stevens video is that he has kept up with the journey of EM for years now and that he is so as excited as we are to see what GEZA continues to come up with. I still wear M01 often in my rotation and as a layer as well. Thank you for this opportunity I will definitely sample and be purchasing one or more of these!!!! Blessings on your current and future endeavors!

  • thefirstpumpkin says:

Hi there, i’m gonna star by saying that i really love the take on this new line, so well done, minimal (staying true to himself), Geza’s betting high on his brand, i enjoyed m+ pachoulli, mandarin and iris, but now i’m really mystified with these new releases, i can’t wait to put my hands on those bottles, Thanks to Steve for always bring us the latest releases and for being really honest on his reviews. I remember reading almost a year ago that interview were Michelyn C. asked Geza if he ever thought about the impact of molecule 01 would have. and i really think that he was visionary ’cause he did know that it was a great concept and it would have and impact on the fragrance world, he really believed in himself, and in his dreams. like i said, i’ll really like to put my hands on this 3 releases but specially on black tea, I’m intrigued with the “herbal tone” described by Steve, so i really wanna won any of them, (i’m really out of my budget these months, lol) i’m on the States and thank you for the opportunity

  • Mr. Schoen’s infusion of black tea and mate tea sounds very relaxing and I love that Steven mentions it has a sweetness to it. The M+ Black Tea would be my choice to win. My favorite M+ is the Iris. The iris isn’t overwhelmed by the Iso E Super, only complimented. My fantasy M+ fragrances would be 3 fruit fragrances using sweet fig pulp, tart rhubarb and crisp pear. Thank you Michelyn and Cafleurebon for another giveaway. I live in OR, USA

  • I appreciate how Geza’s description was included in the blog, it really gives an insight on the inspiration behind the scent and the scent itself. It’s interesting how the Iso E super impacts other fragrances when you layer it like mentioned by steven, and how it prolongs the scent of the layers of fragrance you use this with. If I were to win, I would love to try a bottle of Molecule 01 + Black Tea Escentric Molecules. From TX, USA.

  • Amanda Hodge says:

Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M+ Black Tea would be the fragrance I personally would be so grateful to win, as I’ve loved ISO e Super for so long now and I’m just now dabbling in the art of tea fragrances! I love how Steven describes the added ingredients with adjectives such as sweet and warm. I can agree with Geza when he said something to the effect of less can be more in fragrance! I love how Michelyn used the word “pheromone” to describe these wonderful creations; that’s the word I’ve been looking for to suit such beautiful, molecular fragrances! Much love, I’m in the USA!

  • Oooof so I had a love hate relationship with iso E super because its ability to make me go noseblind … until I got Molecule 01 + Iris and my love is no longer in doubt.
I loved the backstory, I always do! And I can really get why ginger was top choice and the boozy warmth of guaiac wood but… tea is one of my all time fav notes and I think it would layer with my Iris at home just perfectly. That’s my choice if I’m so fortunate to win.
    From US.

  • Outstanding review by Stephen with detailed description of these frags. Molecule 01 has been a staple for me layering and extending the longevity of my fragrances. Michelyn’s story hits to well as Molecule 01 is appealing to just about everyone. Geza Schoen dabbing on his scent and women gravitating to it must have been exciting. I would like to win Escentric Molecules M + Ginger as I trust Stephen and his thoughts on fragrances. I live in CA USA. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • hippononamus says:

I enjoyed Michelyn’s background on how Molecule 01 came to be. Geza’s introduction of why he pairs naturals with the Iso E Super was informative. Steven’s description of Molecule 01 M+ Black Tea being tranquil makes it the choice for me. I’m in the US.

  • They all sound fantastic and it’s hard to pick one to try. I’d like to win Molecules 01+ Guaiac Wood. New Jersey, USA

  • I love how Michelyn shared the origin story of Escentric Molecules with the Iso-E experiment. Some of the best creations come from happy accidents. I also enjoyed learning about the intention with the plus series: pairing a natural with the illuminating qualities of the synthetic. And finally Steven’s enthusiasm and love for the house really shines though and he has me super interested in trying these. If I were to win, I’d love to try Molecule 01 + Gaiac- the description of creamy emulsified smoke along with gaiac’s unique vibe got me. in US

  • I’d love to win Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M+ Ginger. Combining Molecule 01 with spicy freshness sounds great. New Jersey, USA.

  • I live in FL. I loved the history of how Geza discovered the note in the article and Steven’s suggestions on pairings were excellent. I’ve never worn an ISO E Super fragrance but I’ve heard of Molecule 01 back in 2011 when an attempt to get into perfumes had been unsuccessful as grad school occupied much of my time. It was on my list to check out. If given the chance I’d love the Molecule + Black Tea.

  • LORILYNNLODGE@GMAIL.COM says:

I am in love with Escentric Molecule 01+Iris. Such a simple yet beautiful and cozy fragrance, perfect for Spring or really year-round. I am so excited for both the Ginger and the Tea fragrance. Geza always has such interesting ideas that he translates into fragrances. Thanks to Steven and ÇaFleurBon!
    Lori Lynn

  • Another serendipitous story on how a classic fragrance came to be! I love how Geza’s wearing Iso E Super at a club drew the women like flies to honey. I’ve sampled the original Escentric Molecule 01 and I agree there’s something ineffable about the fragrance that draws people. I’m usually a ginger fan but I think I would choose the guaiac wood version. I like Steven’s description of its versatility and the smokey sweetness. MD, USA.

  • I love Exentric Molecule since I tried Molecule 01, the OG, and felt in love with it and I love layering it with other fragrances. This M+ Collection really look amazing! I loved Michelyn Article and Stevens Video, as well as Geza Introductions, just amazing to understand this three amazing fragrances.
The one I liked the most I think is Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M + Guaiac Wood. I would love to win it, since Guaiac is something I love in perfumes and knowing it has ISO E Super makes me feel exited.
    USA here.

  • FragranceIsMe says:

Escentric Molecule 01 is one of our (me and my wife) most used fragrances. It’s such an alluring fragrance. We also own M+ Patchouli. Both are wonderful. Via Steven’s video and Michelyn’s/Geza Shoen’s introductions, all three of the new creations each seem like they’d fit into my collection. I like the fact that each represents a top, heart, and base note. The smokey/creaminess of the Guaiac Wood, the fresh/spiciness of the Ginger, and the relaxing herbal facet of the Black Tea really make it hard to choose only one. However, if I had to, I guess Ginger would win out…but barely. USA

  • Kobi Carpenter says:

The video made me think that the Escentric Molecule 01 + Guaiac Wood would be my favorite. I liked the smoothness and woody comments. I live in the USA.

  • I really enjoyed both reviews. I love the streamlined approach to these fragrances, simplicity revealing complexity. They all sound amazing, but Molecule 01 M + Black Tea would be the one I would like to win. I’m in the USA. Thank you for the generous draw!

  • I enjoyed reading the introduction about the philosophy behind Escentric Molecules perfumes. I also really like that Molecule 01 + Black Tea uses multiple kinds of tea to create an original and complex note. I like how Steven described it as herbal, tranquil, and relaxing. If I am lucky enough to win, I would pick Molecule 01 M + Black Tea.

  • Regis Monkton says:

I appreciate reading how Geza describes his fragrance releases, e.g. when he talks about pairing the synthetic ingredient with a natural ingredient and how they pair with each other. I appreciate reading about how this fragrance line got started. When Geza described Escentric Molecules “Molecules 01 M + Ginger”, I decided that I want that one if I win, and Steven’s review of it confirmed my impression that I would want that one. I live in MD, U.S.A.

  • How lucky we are that Geza Schoen dabbed Iso E Super on his skin that night! Some of the best things were created by pure happenstance. I know Steven’s favorite is Molecule 01 M + Ginger but I can’t wait to try Black Tea. I am a huge tea based fragrance fan and would be honored to win a bottle. I have worn a few Escentric Molecule perfumes, with Escentric 04 being a favorite. I live in Indiana.

  • Well written article by Michelyn! I watched Stephen’s video and found this wonderful resource I never knew existed. Can’t wait to consume all this great content. I’ve never tried Eccentric Molecules but I would love to try Molecule 01 M + Ginger! I live in the USA 🙂

  • I love how Geza is such a good storyteller and so happy to share the perfume’s backstories. I absolutely love his M+ Iris and would loooooove to win (or at least smell!) his M+ Black Tea.

    Thanks so much!

  • Ive worn 01, and what a weird magical experience it is. Feels a bit like something haunting me, not in a bad way, just one minute i smell it and a half second later, its gone. I cant define it or really even prove its there. I gave a sample to my SIL for fun and she enjoyed the hunt to smell it as well. Even if im not going to wear it regularly, i like to smell my fragrances a bit more and am pretty nose blind to iso e at times, its such a fun one. Id love to try iris, ive heard so many things about it and my love of iris is growing. Great intro to gezas comments and ive seen coverage of him in the past. As always, i love how stephen goes into great detail about all stages of a fragrance and describes it in easy to understand ways. Id love to win black tea. Im in WA, USA.

  • I love that origin story of Iso E Super. I didn’t know it was a spur of the moment thing; talk about serendipity! Geza Schoen is so right that minimalism brings clarity, and it definitely works for his creations for Escentric Molecules. Steven also did a great job describing the notes in his video. The part that struck me most was that he layers it under other fragrances to enhance them! It’s hard to choose, but I’d like to win Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M + Black Tea! Cheers from the USA!

  • I enjoyed reading Michelyn’s introduction in which she takes about how the power of Iso E Super was discovered in a sort of real world test, by trying it before clubbing. Also enjoyed Geza’s quote and interview. Didn’t know that Fahrenheit and Tresor both contain this molecule. I haven’t tried anything by this brand, yet, so no favorites, yet. Steven’s videos are always fun to watch as they provide practical details and his personal experience with the perfumes. All three reviewed perfumes are intriguing, but were I to win this draw, I’d choose Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M + Ginger, just because I haven’t tried a ginger based perfume and Steven liked it a lot. I am a Redolessence subscriber and am from the continental United States.

  • I enjoyed reading Michelyn’s story about how Molecule 01 was found to be so appealing.
I loved how Michelyn related Geza’s experience of wearing it out clubbing and the reactions he received.
Steven always gives such great personal descriptions. I loved how he described the ginger in this video.
Would like to win Molecule 01 + Black Tea.
    USA

  • I have been waiting for some content/reviews of these! I could never quite smell Molecule 01 on myself but have Molecule 01 + Patchouli and love it. Oh, and I used up a small travel bottle of Escentric 01 that I also really liked (but not as much as M01 + Patchouli!)
Nice intro from Michelyn — love to hear Geza Schoen’s work with Ormonde Jayne referenced — and was interesting to hear Geza describe each one. His comment about the freshness and effervescence of the ginger scent, along with Steven’s review, which described it as most versatile, is leading me to pick Molecule 01 + Ginger as my choice. It also sounds the most different from Patchouli (or honestly, from any other fragrance in my collection. I live in NYC, USA! Thanks!

  • I love the idea of magical chemistry and natural magic combined into one perfume. From hearing Steven’s descriptions and reading Geza’s, I am certain I would fall in love with M+Guaiac Wood, though the other two are also intriguing.

Thank you for this fantastic giveaway. I am in the USA.

  • I wasn’t familiar with how Escentric 01 and Molecule 01 came to be so popular, so Michelyn’s introduction was really interesting and filled in some history for me. Also, Geza’s story makes for a great quote, but I wonder how many people in the bar had the opposite reaction to Iso E Super; it’s not for everyone. That’s a bold test! I haven’t worn any of the Escentric Molecule fragrances, and I’m curious how they compare side by side. Reading Geza’s description of these three M+ fragrances, they all sounded attractive, but Steven really focused my attention on M+ Ginger. I love that sweet-spicy bite of fresh-cut ginger and Steven pointed out how raw and natural the ginger smells in this one.

I’m in the USA. If I was to win, I’d love the Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M + Ginger.

  • These sound absolutely wonderful- I love molecular scents, mainly enjoying Ambroxan, Hedione, IsoESuper, and Javanol for layering. I would love to win all three.. from Stephen’s comments the Molecule 01 + Black Tea sounds like a safe pick and up my alley. I’m a very big fan of of Russian Tea by Masque Milano, Wulong Cha by Nishane, and Gucci Pour Homme II… however I think I would go with Molecule 01 + Ginger due to the versatility , envigorating quality and summer appropriateness. I remember being bummed when I missed out on the Azzaro Ginger flanker, so I don’t want to miss the boat again! The intro to this article also helped sell me as well, describing how it nails the spiciness of ginger without losing freshness. If I win, please ship to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (USA)!

  • Michael Prince says:

I loved Steven’s Youtube review Video of Escentric Molecules M Molecules 01+ Guaiacwood, Ginger, and Black Tea as well as Michelyn and Geza Schoen’s introductions. In 2005, perfumer Geza Schoen (Geza Schön) changed the olfactory landscape with his introduction of Escentric 01 and Molecule 01 and has created so many amazing fragrances. The new M Molecules 01+ line shows great promise as Steven has conveyed in his review. Guaiacwood is a new, modern, and mass appealing note that I really enjoy. I also love the effervescent zesty freshness of ginger and the herbal and relaxing effects of tea based fragrances. I haven’t worn Escentric Molecules Escentric 01 and Molecule 01 or M+ Iris, Patchouli, or Mandarin, but I’ve heard great things about them and enjoy the original Molecule 01. If I win I would choose Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M +  Ginger. I am from the USA.

  • Thanks for the great review Steven – really excited about this.

Michelyns story about the beginning of Molecule 01 is such an ‘aha’ moment story

I remember how revolutionary the concept was when it came out. I had the fortune of smelling Molecule03, which is the vetiveral molecule and I loved the different facets that were exposed – grapefruit rind, grassiness, earthiness all packaged in a meditative quality.

I think either Molecules01+Ginger or Molecules01+Black Tea would be one to capture my interest.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • I love Escentric Molecules! I have 5 in my collection and I really enjoyed reading about the Molecule 01 M + Ginger. It sounds refreshing perfect for spring coming up. I would love to try it!!!! I’m from Massachusetts, US.

  • I loved this article and Steven’s video review. I have always wanted to try Escentric Molecules but never got the chance. All 3 scents sound amazing but I am drawn to Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M + Black Tea because I love fragrances with a tea note.

  • Wonderful article! What I enjoyed about Steven’s video review is how he describes how Guaiac Wood and Iso E Super complement each other as guaiac wood’s silky smooth creamy quality is so natural and thus a perfect counterpoint to the synthetic Molecule 01 M. What i enjoyed about Michelyn’s and Geza Schoen’s introductions is how Geza describes Escentric Molecules Molecules 01 M+ Black Tea as not just embodying one black tea but rather bringing out “the various facets of this complex aroma” that combines black tea extract along with a maté tea absolue both airy and earthy at the same time both fresh and floral.

If I were to win I would like to win Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M + Guaiac Wood. I have not worn any Escentric Molecules perfumes yet. I live in the US.

  • Love the detailed review. Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 M + Guaiac Wood sounds perfectly cozy, especially during this rain in California.

Hello! I just finished the video on Molecule 01+ Black tea, ginger and guaiac wood. I’m most excited for the ginger version or the guaiac wood. It’s a toss up based on your reviews in the video. They both sound wonderful! I’m currently wearing Molecule 01+ Patchouli but with spring approaching, I want to try a lighter Molecule scent. I started wearing Molecule 01 almost 10 years ago. I’ve been through a few bottles and was so excited when the + scents started coming out. I constantly get compliments.
