Nicolaï Parfumeur Createur Vanille Tonka (Patricia de Nicolaï) was a gateway fragrance for me, composed in 1997: all wispy tendrils of incense wed to a tender spiciness. –Ida Meister, Deputy and Natural Perfume Editor

Rogue Perfumery Chypre Siam: Artisan perfumer Manuel Cross. One of the most gorgeous chypres I’ve ever come across. –Lauryn Beer, Senior Editor

CaFleureBon was founded March 22, 2010 by Michelyn Camen, a former media executive and is the number one blog in the world for artistic perfumery

Calaj Delizia Oscura is a delicious violet gourmand, with deep notes of chocolate and coffee –Nicoleta Tomsa, Senior Editor

Masque Milano White Whale (Christian Alori):True to the novel, violet and ambergris mix with sea spray.  RIP Alessandro Brun the cofounder who passed away February 19, 20024 –Karl Topham, Senior Editor and U.K. Brand Ambassador

Eau D’Italie by Eau D’Italie, created by Master Perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour was chosen by Hernando Courtright, Sr. Event Contributor and New York Brand Ambassador’s  for our Luckyscent x CaFleureBon 14th Anniversary Sample Pack which captures the scents of the Amalfi Coast. A summer in Positano in a bottle.

On the day of this video posting March 28th, it’s Vero Kern’s birthday who sadly passed away in 2019 How wonderful that Editor Ermano Picco chose Vero Profumi Mito Voile d’Extrait. In her own words she wrote in 2012, “The warm air is pervaded by a pleasant sensation of white flowers, jasmine and newly blooming magnolias, garlands of moist moss, aromatic leaves and proud cypresses. Slowly the fragrance rises. Up, up, higher and higher still, to join, all of a sudden, the crystalline jets gushing in the fountains and resting on the mirrors of water in the garden.”

Gritti Mango Aoud: Creamy, juicy mango vibes meeting the mysterious, resinous notes of oud, topped off with a dash of fresh, floral guava and a scoop of vanilla. –Olya Bar, Editor.

Naomi Goodsir Corpus Equus (Bertrand Duchaufour) is a deep meditation on the majestic horse, coming together in a fusion of opulent supple leather, a subtle rose essence, all enveloped in a mysterious incense smoke. –J, Senior Contributor

Domenico Caraceni 1913 is Michael Devine’s, Senior Contributor pick for the Luckyscent x ÇaFleureBon 14th Anniversary discovery set. Like the finest cloth it is patterned on a spicy rose accord and layered with notes of styrax, geranium bourbon, neroli bigarade, tobacco, cypress and frankincense.

Francesca Bianchi The Black Knight was chosen by Contributor Danu-Seith Fyr. The Black Knight was inspired by the mercenary captain Giovanni Dalle Bande Nere a member of the Medici family. Vetiver and leather are the key notes in this dark gothic fragrance.

Gallivant Istanbul (Karine Chevallier) is Rachel Ng’s, Senior Contributor choice for the Luckyscent x ÇaFleureBon 14th Anniversary discovery set. Istanbul is an olfactive exploration of both European and Asian cultures where spices and resins meet herbal elegance. The combination of opoponax, cardamom, and geranium draws us to the city of desire.

Essential Parfum The Musc (Calice Becker) is a fresh, clean fragrance that soothes the soul and surrounds you in a cloud of comfort regardless of the time of year. –Sandi Lundberg, Contributor

Neela Vermeire Creations Mohur Extrait (Neela Vermeire with Bertrand Duchaufour): The gold standard of rose perfumes, for me no other comes close. If you shy away when you read that a fragrance has notes of rose and oud (there are so MANY), Mohur Extrait will change your mind, as this perfume elevates and transcends notes into something much more. Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

Sugar Kisses by Lorenzo Pazzaglia is a gourmand fragrance with a lactonic coconut ingredient that combines with delicious vanilla and decadent chocolate. An enticing caramel note joins the mix to enhance the deliciousness. –Steven Gavrielatos, Video Content Contributor

Disclosure: Michelyn and Steven received a discovery set. All other team members purchased their own.  ÇaFleureBon was not compensated in any way.

This is a great selection of samples! The ones that have me intrigued the most are Lorenzo Pazzaglia’s Sugar Kisses, Gallivant Istanbul and Gritti Mango Aoud. You can pick almost every category of fragrance from this list: gourmand, tropicals, amber types. Hoping that the collaborations continue and so the great fragrances chosen. Cheers from USA.

  • olgAPOISON says:

What a great giveaway! I am sure the Cafleurbon team has selected the best of the best representing all moods/genres. <>. Steven’s review is knowledgeable and intelligent as always and I can’t believe he’s from Jersey! So close! I live in NY.

  • Happy 14th Birthday to Cafleurebon. You guys are the greatest. Love your selections, reading and the video by Stephen. I will buy one anyway, because as Steven says its a great value. Thanks USA

What an amazing selection! Sampling new perfumes makes me so happy. I actually haven’t tried any of these yet. I appreciate hearing Steven’s descriptions of each one, and I would love to get my nose on them. From CA, USA

  • snowflake15 says:

What a great variety of scents! Can’t wait to try them all. I’m looking forward to the violets and roses. Usa

  • Congrats on 14 years! Wonderful picks by everyone and Steven did a great job of going over all of them. The best part of this hobby is exploring and discovering new smells. I’m a Sean of thousands of perfumes I appreciate all of the contributors pointing me in the right direction. I’m most excited to try Mohur Extrait and the Vero Miti. In Brooklyn NY.

  • Wow, what an exquisite collection! I thought it was touching that Steven shared how he spoke about ambergris with the co-founder of the White Whale creator while he was still living. I also appreciate all the rose scents and spicy scents on the list such as Mohur Extrait, Corpus Equus, and Istanbul. Just reading the descriptions (plus Steven’s take) makes me feel like I’m traveling somewhere warm and exotic, like the Amalfi Coast evoked by the jasmine perfume above. Also thanks to Steven for teaching me how to pronounce chypre – I learned about this type of perfume I believe from Luca Turin’s book, but was pronouncing it in my head totally wrong! Thank you so much for hosting this giveaway, and hello from Colorado, USA!

  • Happy anniversary! I haven’t tried any of these scents so really intrigued by all the descriptions. From Steven’s video i really want to try to see if I can smell the clay notes! Don’t know of any perfume with pottery notes! I am in the USA. Thank you!

  • Oh,my, a musk with beeswax? I really must try that one! So many intriguing choices and so many with incense components, which is one of my all-time favorite notes. Gothic, dark, soft, calm, bright…so many moods represented here. I loved the briefs as well as the video reviews. The only one I’ve tried is White Whale.

  • I love the selection in Cafleurebon’s sample choices, there is a great variety to them and you can get a smell for each of them. I appreciate Steven’s enthusiasm and description of each sample choice. Even though I don’t know what they smell like, I have a good idea of what it could be like and some of them sound exciting to me. Mohur Extrait and Sugar Kisses sound pretty cool to my mind’s nose! Happy 14th anniversary!

  • Thank you Steve for another stellar video summarizing the experience of these 14 beauties and to CaFleureBon contributors for curating this list for us. It’s sad to hear of the passing of Allesandro Brun that I had missed till now. In this list I’ve only experienced Eau D’Italie – Eau D’Italie EDP and Rogue Perfumery – Chypre Siam and I’m salivating at the thought of trying out the others in the list. I’m in TX USA

  • I love hiw each of the perfumes was selected by one contributor yet they form a coherent collextion, a reflection od what matters scentwise in 2024. A collection of tributes and rememberances, of nostalgia, complexity, from classical referential oerfumes to contemporary prespectives. Simply fantastic!

  • Cangratulations on 14 amazing years!!! And LuckyScent has been another go to for their “Scoops” descriptions of fragrances and great selections. Steven always gives a straight forward description which I appreciate. And Michelyn has great taste that I really align with. So … I trust these!! A few I have and love and a few I’ve been longing to try like the Mohur Extrait! I’m in California thank you for the chance to win,

  • I love watching Steven’s videos. Such a great job of depicting exactly what you will be getting your nose into! This is a fantastic anniversary list; I want Mango Aoud and Sugar Kisses so bad now! Thank you Steven for all your great content.

  • The choices seem very individual. I was pleased to see White Whale. The video spoke highly of White Whale also. US

  • I am in the US. I liked the variety of the fragrances in the set, covering so many genres and creative talents!

  • I can imagine how hard it was to choose just a single fragrance to include in this discovery set. However, there are great choices in it! Ida’s choice of Vanille Tonka is a good one; I loved learning it was a gateway fragrance for her. Lauryn’s pick, Chypre Siam, is one that I am ashamed to admit I have not tried. However, I have been enjoying chypres lately and would love to try it. Nicoleta’s choice of Delizia Oscura just makes me want to test this even more. It has been on my test list since it was released. White Whale is another one I have not tested, but I can see why Karl chose it. Violet, ambergris, and sea spray sounds beautiful. I really like Hernando’s pick of Eau D’Italie- I love the clay note in it! Although I haven’t tested Vero Profumi Mito Voile d’Extrait, it sounds like a stunning fragrance. I can see why Ermano chose it. I have tried many fragrances from Gritti, but have not yet tested Olya’s pick, Mango Aoud. However, I would love to try this one because a creamy mango fragrance would be perfect for the warmer months! J’s choice of Corpus Equus is one I have yet to try, but really need to do so. And I do love horses. Michael’s choice of 1913 sounds intriguing, and rose is one of my favorite notes. The Black Knight is only one of a few I have not tried from Francesca Bianchi, but since Danu-Seith chose it I must do so. Rachel’s pick of Istanbul is one I haven’t tested from Gallivant, but I love opoponax. I absolutely need to try Sandi’s pick of The Musc because it sounds so comforting. Michelyn’s choice of Mohur Extrait is a gorgeous one; I do love this fragrance! Steven’s pick of Sugar Kisses is one from Lorenzo Pazzaglia that I have not tried, but it does sound quite delicious.

I agree with Steven that the included fragrances are quite diverse. I love that there’s such a wide range of fragrances! I like that Steven mentioned that Corpus Equus is a dark and more daring fragrance. Steven’s enthusiasm for Sugar Kisses really makes me want to wear it now (and it’s still chilly where I am).

Thank you for the giveaway! I am located in the USA.

  • AromaDulce73 says:

  • Fourteen years! Huge achievement for any blog. This sample collection is a great way to celebrate, with lots of styles represented, and highlights from posts I’ve read here at ÇaFleureBon. I love Chypre Siam—nothing to add to Lauryn’s comment. I haven’t tried any of the others, but Corpus Equus sounds enchanting, as does Gallivant Istanbul. Steven’s comments about Alessandro Brun and White Whale were notable and I’m intrigued by the beeswax note he noted in The Musc and the clay accord in Eau D’Italie. Cool discovery set.

    I’m in the USA.

  • foreverscents says:

I loved reading the selections from the CaFleureBon editors and then hearing Steven’s descriptions. Steven highlighted the selections in a brief but very convincing way. I am familiar with many of the editors’ choices. But I am very excited to try the gourmand fragrances–I usually shy away from gourmand fragrances, but Steven’s enthusiasm for Sugar Kisses has me very intrigued. I am also intrigued by the clay note in Eau d’Italie.
    I live in the USA.

  • Sherin Thomas says:

I am excited about this selection. I really love sampling, nothing brings me more joy. Mango oud screams lound at me . Im from PA, USA

  • wallygator88 says:

Thanks for the great writeup, Michelyn and video Steven!

I had a chance to try Chypre Siam and it’s a worthy addition to this lineup. I really want to try Mohur Extrait and Gallivant’s Istanbul.

It’s really cool to see the choices of all the different contributers.

    Cheers from WI, USA
