Amouage Portrayal Man Review + Sexy Summer Draw

Amouage portrayal Man review

Amouage Portrayal Man (and Woman) courtesy of Amouage

Fragrance is a form of time travel.  Last year former Creative Director Christopher Chong of Amouage took us to NYC in the 1970s with Imitation Man and Woman. He goes further back in time with the new Amouage Portrayal Man and Woman series which is inspired by London’s Roaring 1920s and the flamboyant, glamorous and often disaffected companionship of Bright Young Things. The word flapper in fact has its origins in England!

Sr. Editor Lauryn Beer reviewed Woman and Editor Sebastian Jara had asked to review Amouage Portrayal Man once we realized it was one of ONLY two of all of Mr. Chong’s 12 years of work  as of last month that we had not reviewed. The perfumer for Amouage Portrayal Man is Pierre Negrin of Firmenich. In an interview with Christopher I asked him how he selected perfumers. “We never select a perfumer based on his/her prestige or name.  It is all based on how the first submissions match the brief. This initial step is done without knowing who the perfumers are.  I am not influenced by a well-known name. Apprentice or Master, it makes no difference.”

Editor Sebastian Jara reviews Amouage Portrayal Man which he finds to be unique with  its violet leaves, which predominate and cade which give it a spicy leathery feel.  It’s sexy, an aquatic that’s more about the water than the beach. Although labeled for men, I find it one of the most gender neutral scents for summer.

Disclosure: Sebastian asked for his bottle of Amouage Portrayal. Opinions are his own.

Sebastian says it is a chameleon kind of fragrance that reveals different sides everytime he wears. Sometimes its leathery aspects and cumin and sometimes its aquatic aspects. My fav. Amouage under Mr. Chong is Epic Man. I am in US.

  • Amirpasha says:

I liked how Sebastian explains all the notes and give his honest review about all the perfumes. And this perfume was no exception!
    USA CALIFORNIA.

  • I like description Sebastian gives about how this seems to change everytime he wears this. I also like the leathery undertones in the dry down. The only Amouage I have sampled is Reflection Man. I’m not sure if that was created by Mr. Chong, but I liked it, and would love to try more from this house. I also love the bottles. They have a very opulent look about them. Thank you for the draw. US.

  • David Thomas says:

Great review by Sebastian!! I got a sample of Portrayal Man a couple weeks ago and I live it. Definitely, full bottle worthy. My favorite Amouage is Journey Man.

  • Sebastian always does a good job at describing fragrances which is quite hard to do sometimes, sadly I have not had any Amouage fragrances as of yet but I would Love to start with Amouage Portrayal Man! 😀

  • John Martin says:

I own EVERY Amouage fragrance for Men and truly desire Portrayal Man for my collection. Love Amouage!!

  • Vlad Baicu says:

I’m a big fan of Sebastian’s recommendations and a even bigger fan of Amouage house which was my introduction to niche colognes. You don’t forget your first love 🙂

  • You had me at Woody Aromatic! Thankful for Sebastian’s interpretation of this scent. USA

  • I saw Sebastian’s reviews on YouTube and became very intrigued by his description of the fragrance. I was specifically interested in the notion of this being a “masculine” scent. I find that most scents created today are considered to be unisex which really does not interest me. I would love a chance to try this one and have it become my signature scent. Thank you!

  • Richard Garcia says:

Love the description of the notes Sebastian gives, really makes the scent sound intriguing! I’ve yet to try Amouage so I’m curious if it’ll work for me!
    I’m in the US

  • Tsweezey90 says:

I love the scent of violets in the garden and a huge part of that scent is the leaves of the plant so I was so excited to hear Sebastian mention how pronounced and full that note is in this fragrance!

  • First of all, I am absolutely in love with this bottle. I am also fascinated by Sebastian’s description of this fragrance being very thick and dense and it’s “fatty water” characteristic. Sounds uniquely interesting. (Commenting from USA.)

  • It’s all about the Violet leaves! And the bottle is stunning! Even though it says “Man” in its name, I would totally wear this. Thanks for the opportunity! USA

  • Gabriel Garcia says:

Great review spotlight by Sebastian, amouage has done it again, I wish to get to test it.

  • leah nunally says:

What interested me most about Sebastian’s review was that he said the fragrance sort of morphed constantly. He said that even though there were only a few notes listed the fragrance maintained a complexity with the way those notes interacted. He also mentioned that it had a great amount of longevity. Although I have not tried any of Amouage’s other fragrances I would love the chance to try this one.

  • I like how this one sounds from Sebastians description and that bottle looks great. My favorite is reflection man from amouage. I’d love to get my hands on this one.

  • joegamble says:

Sebastian is one of few YT reviewers I trust. Interesting to hear that vetiver is a minor player; also that the cade isn’t dialing up massive smoke. Still need to sample it for myself…

Favorite Amouage is REALLY difficult to pin down- Journey, Imitation, Interlude, Sunshine, Reflection and Jub are some of my most-worn scents…

  • Kyle Kopacz says:

I never tried any of the Amouage fragrances, but this one sounds interesting. Amazing looking bottle.

  • I love his reviews and videos. I am always able to visualize and understand what he is saying with his great vocabulary and explanations

  • Sebastian is always so descriptive in his reviews. Also informative and I always feel I have learned something from him each time. I dont have any Amouage but would love to try Jubilation XXV, Reflection Man, and maybe Lyric Man but after this review I’m definitely interested in Portrayal Man! Thanks. From USA.

  • brooksrjrCafleureBon says:

I love Sebastian’s description for the different notes when discribing the scents he gets from the fragrance. He provides the best reviews. I do like that he states that what he likes may not be what everyone else does, but provides his take on what he likes or does not like. Great reviewer.

  • isunnychaudhary says:

    Hello Everyone,

I loved Sebastian video as it was explanatory and to the point. I loved the way he described all the notes of the perfume which is helpful before one gets attracted to them and going to try the fragrances.

If I win I surely gonna be the happiest

  • I think I’m a great great fan of Christopher Chong. The truth is that I didn’t even know that Mr.Chong is the person behind my collection of Amouage fragrances

I have tons of fragrances in my wardrobe but Amouage is undoubtedly the best of best!

From Chong’s creativity I LOVE these that I own:

    Jubilation – 2008
    Lyric – 2008
    Epic – 2009
    Interlude – 2012
    Reflection– 2018

I started my journey with Amouage by a blind buy of Interlude followed by Lyric which incidentally got attracted watching Sebastian’s review and moved on getting Epic. If you carefully look at these three they are my Red Green Blue (RGB) of fragrances(in color spectrum they are everything)

While I have so many great things to talk about Chong’s creations the only thing my nose didn’t accept is:
    Figment – 2017

    Unfortunately I have returned figment

The list of my acquaintances didn’t go without stating Amouage Gold and Dia in my wardrobe too have a special place in my scent journey.

Now once again watching Amouage portrayal review by Sebastian only drooling on putting my hands as soon as possible

Having a fan of the house of Amouage, I’m looking forward to check Portrayal – 2019 and also possibly Overture – 2019 as well

  • jesse1978 says:

FABULOUS bottle! Really liked the way Sebastian used the visual of the effect on bottle to describe what he was getting from the fragrance. I thought it was genius as I myself tend to associate scent with and image or a color and that really hit home with me. I have a few favorites from Amouage, but I have to say that I adore Bracken Woman and find it to be quite unisex. That juicy berry note is simply lovely. A close second would be Fate Man. I am in the US – and before I forget…. Thank you for hosting this giveaway!

  • Lisa F Collins says:

I always love Sebastian’s reviews. The idea of the ever changing fragrance, one where I’d never get bored sounds fabulous. Thank you for doing giveaways, that is so generous.

  • Love Sebastian’s reviews. Violet is my favorite note in fragrances. Would love to try this.

  • Sebastian did a great review on this as he does with all reviews. I like the different phases that this fragrance goes through and the note breakdown.

  • ThomasMcLain says:

Sebastian has my favorite YouTube channel directed towards perfume. He goes above and beyond my expectations for contributing informative reviews, opinions and interviews for this art form. Amouage is a very interesting house for me for sure they take just the right amount of risk making them interesting for those passionate about perfume but also wearable around the masses. Both Jubilation and Reflection are amazing.

  • Thiago Vidotto says:

I got to know Sebastian’s channel some weeks ago while looking for reviews on cheap fragrances. What I enjoyed about him is that he’s a person that knows what is talking about while being very comforting to watch. I don’t feel bad for not having the experience he has, and I actually feel very inspired after watching his videos.

His review on Portrayal Man is in-depth, and I appreciate that he mentioned that a fragrance with only three notes can be so sophisticated. My favorite perfume of all time also has three notes. Maybe the chemistry between the components may form new molecules, and the reaction with the skin contributes to such variable scent? Also, the watery ozonic vibe seems quite interesting.

I would call this perfume as “sun of the morning” just by watching Sebastian’s review. That because I actually smell watery and ozonic notes when I go out in the morning. The bottle also seems to have a meaning: it has the colors I see when I first get out in the sun.

I am not a fragrance expert – neither have tried fragrances from Amouage – but I guess I have been in love with scents since I was younger. I was born in a country that does not have many brands available, so I’d be delighted if I could pick up the new fragrance from Amouage! 🙂

  • Scott Wilbur says:

Overture Man is my favorite frag from amouage under Chong. Sebastian is by far one of the best reviewers online. Go USA!

  • patrick_348 says:

I found this review interesting in that there were only three notes listed, but Sebastian was able to suggest the complexity that is achieved with them. I don’t know Amouage fragrances, except by reputation, so I don’t have a favorite.

  • Robert Satek says:

Loved Sebastian’s detailed description of Portrayal Man. Metallic yet aquatic, mysterious and long lasting. It sounds like something that truly must be experienced!

  • I love Amouage house and my favorites so far are Reflection Man, Memoir Men and Lyric Man. I love violet note and I am sure that I will love the Portrayal Man. Sebastian mentioned that the violet note is fuller and thicker than in Fahrenheit. That description made want to try this release even more.

  • I love how well you describe what you get from fragrances, one of my go to reviewers

  • roaster59 says:

Great review as always. Detailed yet easy to understand. He talks to us as a friend. The fragrance sounds wonderful: mysterious, complex and long lasting. I hope to experience it!

  • Sam Ellison says:

Can’t wait to smell this. I’ve been on a major violet leaf kick, and I friggin’ love cade.

I’m in the US—Boston. Excited for more Amouage.

  • What a great bottle. It reminds me of what is referred to as flashing inside of a vacuum tube. You know, those things that once powered all electronics before the advent of the transistor.

The fragrance sounds great and I would gladly call it my own. Please count me in the giveaway.

  • Marius Johnson says:

Don’t have anything from this house…but after seeing the review by Sebastian…this sounds like my cup of tea…

  • SculptureOfSoul says:

I love how he said it was green, watery and had some leather nuances. I only know of one green watery leather – Memo’s Irish Leather – and I love it.

My favorite Amouage under Christopher Ching’s direction is Memoir Man. I love its transition from vibrant green to grey ash, the olfactory evolution of the scent perfectly capturing the story that inspired it.

  • jeremyn87 says:

The way he describes it – earthy, dark, watery, spicy etc – remidns me of proto-aquatics from the late 80’s or early 90’s. Kind of like New West or something like that.
Of Chong’s fragrances, maybe Lyric Man.
Im in the US. Thanks for the draw

  • Sebastian’s review really emphasized the Violet note which I have not previously experienced in my other purchases, so I am curious to see how this will be on my skin. I love the entire Amouage line so I am excited to try Portrayal Man. I currently own several and my favorite is Jubilation 25 and also close behind is Interlude Man.

  • Brook Hubbeling says:

I like the simplicity of the three notes that work together to create multiple accords, as when musical notes, as in throat singing, create phantom pitches not actually sung.

  • Always love to stay updated on Sebastian’s content. I had seen a couple of his videos and recently decided to subscribe- definitely a great decision!

Portrayal man sounds like an excellent fragrance. I’ve always loved very watery scents.

I’ve only tried Reflection Man so far but Amouage as a house as always intrigued me. Receiving this would be a great way to better understand this house.

    Thank you!

  • Ron A.G Salmon says:

I’m broken-hearted tbh after reading on Fragrantica a while back & then hearing about the departure of Christopher Chong as Creative Director, buuuuuut, life does indeed go on…. I absolutely LOVE everything Amouage, but my Top 3 undoubtedly are: Reflection, Jubilation XXV & Lyric Man. Violet Leaf is a note I absolutely adore in a fragrance and I hope I’m blessed to have this “fat, succulent experience as you you put it with the Violet leaves- backed-up by a touch of Vetiver, Cade and that metallic, woody-green, watery experience”! Ok ok Seb, you’ve got me, “I’m IN”

I’m trying to think of a violet dominant fragrance that I Love now and Tom Ford Black Violet comes to mind….

Good Luck to all the participants!
    ☮️ &From California & Orange, New Jersey

  • Great review – love the bottle and the notes sound inviting. I’m really curious about the aquatic/big water scent notes. Would love to try it out. I do enjoy others like Reflection Man, Interlude Man, and Jubilation XXV.

  • I follow sebastian’s recommendations all the time and he has never failed..I think I will buy this as he states that this is a winner from Amouage…

  • thatcologneguy says:

I really like how he described the violet leaf note. As a fellow YouTube reviewer, I appreciate his ability to discuss the different nuances of a particular note. I immediately thought Fahrenheit, but he effectively described the violet leaf so that I feel as though I can almost smell it. Amazing review, as always, Sebastian!

  • Devicemanager says:

Hi its been a while but man i stopped looking at reviews for bit due to my life being a little hectic now but as i come back to all these new scents from my favorite houses , i am going to be very busy the next couple weeks going to the malls and stores to update my nose, but as always thanks Sebastian for showing us the very best

  • Enjoyed the review. Sebastion mentioned that it is about the lavender in this fragrance and I enjoy lavender as a note. I had to chuckle when he mentioned that it was a heavy water note, even a fatty water note. Hard to imagine that, but want to try Portrayal Man after the review.

  • I like all of Sebastian’s reviews. He seems to give an honest opinion which I really appreciate.

  • saadfragrance says:

Love sebastians description. Havent won anything yet. Hoping for a miracle. From the U.S.A

  • “The closer it gets to your body the sexier it becomes to me”. says Sebastian. Jubilation XXV is a fave under Mr. Chong’s direction. US

  • radiculous says:

I love how Sebastian describes frags. AMOUAGEEEEE! I blind bought carlisle cuz of him. Looking forward to this one. Thanks! USA

  • I have Amouage epic and jubilation Xxv but I want to win this because of violet leaves and that’s it a chameleon
    I also live in USA

  • I liked how he explained that it is mostly violet leaf and cade without a lot of vetiver. I would have expected more vetiver from the notes. I have never smelled cade; so, it sounds interesting. I like some green fragrances. Violet leaf can be funny. Love in some and dislike in others. I’m sure Amouage does it right. I’m in USA.

  • Thank you Sebastian for this review and Cafleurebon for this draw.
I like violet leaves and mach more leather. This perfumes sounds very interesting. I like Dia Man.
    US

  • Love violet leaf so this is a winner. I also like that it is aquatic without the seaweed or salt feeling. I also love cumin as a note (as does my 6 year old) Good review Sebastian. In the USA. Thanks for the review and giveaway.

  • Sebastian is always so knowledgeable. He’s a favorite reviewer of mine. My favorite would be Jubilation. Thank you for the opportunity! USA

  • Jeff Berbert says:

I am most intrigued by Sebastian’s description of this as “fat and succulent.” Very interested to see how this is achieved with only 3 notes. My favorite Chong fragrance is Lyric Man. I am in the USA. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • ThatMulattoDude says:

Great review by Sebastian. Amouage is a house I’ve really wanted to try but, as a newbie to the game, have not done so yet. This fragrance sounds interesting and, as I’ve been researching reviews, seems like something I’d wear. Thanks for the opportunity.

  • Sebastian is simple best fragrance to me he that ability to bring alive a fragrance in his review my favorite part of the video is when he talk about violet soiled note in fragrance.

  • Sebastian is simple best fragrance review to me he that ability to bring alive a fragrance in his review my favorite part of the video is when he talk about violet soiled note in fragrances

  • twiggy3634 says:

I enjoyed how Sebastian ties the bottle design to the metallic/ozonic vibe the actual scent gives. Seems like a fitting bottle for the situation. And it’s so difficult to pick just one favorite under Chong’s direction since I adore so many. If I absolutely have to choose, it’s Jubilation for its rich and smoky blackberry goodness. A fragrance fit for royalty. Amouage is one of my all-time favorite houses so I would love to win this so much. Cheers from the USA.

  • Nice looking bottle and I’d like to check this fragrance out and also others by Christopher. This is an interesting fragrance. Enjoyed Sebastian’s review. Thanks, US

  • Sebastian’s review is very detailed as usual and he tries his best to make one imagine the smell with the thorough note breakdown and descriptions. That iridescent bottle is also quite lovely. I’ve not had an opportunity to try out any Amouage fragrances and would love to try this out. Jubilation XXV is also in my cross-hairs. I’m in TX USA

  • WaltherP99 says:

Portrayal Man is a great fragrance, but for those who don’t know it, beware it’s a Violet leaf bomb. The way Sebastian described it “very thick deep and fat” is exactly the way it is. If you don’t like Violet leaves , or you’re not familiar with this smell of it , never blind buy Portrayal Man . It’s a powerful fragrance, and you could feel like you’re in a boxing ring with Manny Pacquiao, who is hitting you over and over again.
The start , the base and the dry down are equally good, but I’ll repeat myself – try BEFORE you buy.
Atm i do own 4 Amouage fragrances – Jubilation XXV for men – the best Amouage fragrance , Intelude Man also known as “The Blue Beast” , Lilac Love and Blossom Love .
I wear only what like-designer,niche,indie. Don’t care if it’s marketed for guys or girls. All it matters to me is my own opinion.I not only own and love Lilac Love and Blossom Love , but quite a few fragrances marketed for women.Does not bother me one bit.
A small note – both Overture fragrances will not come to US anytime soon , if at all . That’s official Amouage statement .
If someone thinks i’m joking , or i’m just making it up go to @cafleurebon , just posted a link with what Amouage told non-UK customers about both Overture fragrances.

I enjoyed Sebastian’s description of the multi-faceted experiences he gets wearing this fragrance. He makes the fragrance come alive for us during the review. USA

  • NiceVULady says:

Its interesting that the fragrance changes as Sebastian wears it. Could that be the actual progression of the fragrance? My favorite Amouage is Dia Woman. I also like Interlude Woman as well. Thanks for the reviews and this draw. I’m in the USA

  • haroldmoreno says:

I liked a lot how Sebastian described the fragance and its bottle. He said that it is oceanic but does not go to seaweed but it is aquatic. Also liked that the bottle has that metallic inside that gives that aquatic vibe that he described.
My favourite Amouage fragance under Christopher Chong’s direction is definetively Jubilation XXV.
    Thank you from Miami.

  • I am registered and subcribes to sensations channel ! Choosing a favorite was hard. I adore myths man and jubilation 25 and journey man is special. I also find reflection women to be something special as well. I would have to choose jubilation 25 , it is a masterpiece and why I dont own dior homme. I enjoyed sebastian’s review of how the fragrance felt, the main accords and that the fragrance seems to have it’s own character and has different facets every time you wear it.

  • Such a quality fragrance house! I’m sure Amouage Portrayal Man is no exception. I knew this was one to try the minute Sebastian said it develops on your skin. Fragrances that do that are special. Thank you for the review and the giveaway. In the USA.

  • Hikmat Sher Afridi says:

Great review as usual by Sebastian!!!.. A beauty of fragrance is in transition after transition and Amouage Portrayal is definitely to try. Amouage never disappoints & the bottle is stunning. Interlude, Jubilation XXV & Myth Man are heavenly perfumes IMO.
Thanks for the generosity & letting me in the draw by accepting my NY, US bases relative address.

  • Portrayal Man sounds unique, and no doubt it’s Shapeshifting fragrance like all Amouage fragrances I personally know. Succulent experience with violet leaves, vetiver and cade I’d like to try, experience and own.
Jubilation XXV is a staple in my collection . Smells a bit like a mix between BlackBerry crumble traybake and BlackBerry Swirl Muffins with honey butter both with cinnamon. Can’t help it- Pastry Chef in me goes forward 🙂

  • wildevoodoo says:

I found it really cool that the coloring/pattern of the bottle corresponds with Sebastian’s description of the ozonic/metallic characteristic of the violet leaves! I’m also glad he mentioned that the cade takes a backseat to the violet leaves and that the vetiver can be hard to find, since I like all the notes mentioned but I might’ve been disappointed if I got my hands on this before watching and couldn’t smell any vetiver! Trying this and some of the other men’s offerings from Amouage would be very welcome as I’ve only been able to try womens’ thus far- my favorites from the Chong era are Honour Woman, Portrayal Woman, and Sunshine Woman. I am in the US 🙂

  • nickled12 says:

Sebastian always does a great job of describing what you can truly expect with a fragrance, or what kind of emotions a fragrance can invoke, to me portrayal man seems like one of those polarizing fragrances that I’ve personally grown to love.

  • Unique Amouage fragrance with dominant violet leaves, cade with leathery feel , and vetiver too. Sign me in asap.
My favorite Amouage is Jubilation XXV . What a masterpiece of a fragrance. If I have to live with 4 fragrances until the rest of my life Jubilation XXV will be one of those 4. Sebastian himself started this challenge on his YouTube channel.
As I said Jubilation XXV is on a different level. First time I’ve smelled it my eyes started rolling out.
Thank you all for the draw
    USA

  • As always, enjoyed Sebastian’s review, and have never smelled cade, so I would enjoy trying that. I can’t remember what he said about the violet note. But I like the idea of violet and aquatic together. Thanks for the great review and the draw! In the us

  • Dubaiscents says:

I agree that this, like so many Amouage scents, changes each time you wear it and as you wear it. Portrayal Man seems very simple at first but once you really take the time to enjoy it you see all the nuances come out. I would love to add this bottle to my extensive Amouage collection. I’m in the US.

  • Thanks for another great review, Sebastian! I love your description of the scent as a thick, fat, ozonic, metallic violet leaves. I haven’t sampled any Amouage yet so I hope I get the chance. Thanks for this opportunity. – CA, USA

  • I love Sebastian’s review of Amouage Potroyal Man as he describes the fragrance with such exquisite detail. My favorite from Christopher Chong is Reflection. I live in CA. USA. Thanks for the draw.

  • So interesting: “fatty”, “succulent violet leave,s” and “heavy water” I’m intrigued by Sebastian’s review. I’ve only ever smelled Jubilation XXV from this house and I loved it but this sounds like something completely different. Thanks to Sebastian for the review and cafleurebon for the draw. I’m in the US.

  • doveskylark says:

Sebastian’s description of the violet leaves, their metallic quality, intrigues me. I’m interested in the watery quality, yet also its earthy and leathery notes. This sounds very sexy and masculine, yet not too heavy-hitting. i haven’t tried anything from Amouage, but Portrayal Man sounds like a good starting point.
    I live in the USA.

  • I love Sebastian’s steady and detailed reviews, he is consistent and always has new content to watch. I have been really wantibg to try the house of Amouage, I unfourtualely have not yet.

So I would be absolutely thrilled to win this give away! I like that he says the fragrance chabges ever time he wears it because that leads me to believe it is a unique high quality creation.

Thank you fot the chance I’m in the US

  • I enjoyed Sebastian’s reviews of the notes. He mentioned the way it changes each time he wears the fragrance. He definitely is passionate about fragrances.
    I live in California.

  • Erick Monasterio says:

Very intrigued on this fragrance. I haven’t tried it yet but very interested in doing so. I would definitely love to win this, would be a great birthday present. I’ll write my take on it & do a full review. I’m based out of Florida & I believe it would work well in this climate.

  • Thanks for the giveaway.

I’m a huge fan of Amouage and enjoyed Christopher Chong as the creative director.

Very interested in giving this a sniff and seeing how much violet leaves pop out based on Sebastians review.

    I’m in the US
    Thanks

  • Michael Prince says:

Sebastian, great YouTube Review of Amouage Portrayal Man. Sounds like a simplistic note breakdown and a dumb reach for the summertime. You have the spicy and watery quality of the Violet and that smoky, woody, and leathery drydown of the vetiver and cade oil. Really looking forward to trying this out. I am from the USA.

  • Amouage fragrances are really unique. All i have smelled you should never get without sampling first. Some could smell completely different on every person when you spaying them on skin. For example both Sunshine Men , and Reflection Man are two completely different scents on me , and on my husband. Sunshine Men is a gourmand on me , but on my hubby is dry , herbal and sour .
I’m not questioning Sebastian of course, but if it’s Amouage we are talking about I’m trusting no one, but my own nose, and skin, even though I like his review.
“It’s sexy, an aquatic that’s more about the water than the beach. Although labeled for men, I find it one of the most gender neutral scents for summer.”
Michelyn words are fine example of what i said .Sebastian thinks it’s masculine , Michelyn finds it unisex. I guess i’ll have to find out myself.
My favorite Amouage is Sunshine Men.

    Beautiful draw thank you

Come on Sebastian Lol As both incense and Amouage fan you should know well Pierre Negrin created one of the best incense fragrances on the market – Interlude man. To me Interlude Man is one of the best , if not the best ever created in this category . Stunning fragrance.Happy to own it. Went through 3 bottles during the years.

Portrayal Man is new to me , but i like masculine woody aromatic with aquatic feel.
Thank you for the great draw

Although he says there is not much Vetiver being a Vetiver lover I would love to give this a try.

  • Bubeto_GG says:

To me what’s “masculine” , “feminine” or “unisex” fragrance is subjective .
As a woman i do love the house of Amouage , but to be honest i much prefer men’s versions.Reflection Men > Reflection Women , Lyric Man>Lyric Women and so on.
Own full bottles of Jubilation XXV – 100% unisex fragrance too , Journey Woman -the only one better than men’s version, and 10ml decant of Lilac Love-a fragrance i adore , and i do plan to get full bottle.
I have to say i really like Mychelyn remark here -> “Although labeled for men, I find it one of the most gender neutral scents for summer.”
Deep , thick and fat fragrance , partially aquaitic , partially green and floral , spicy and leathery . Now that’s something interesting.
Already mentioned my 3 favorite Amouage fragrances – Jubilation XXV , Journey Woman and Lilac Love.
Thanks Sebastian for your opinion about Jubilation Portrayal Man , and Europerfumes for the draw.

  • I love Sebastian’s reviews. I’ve never tried anything from Amouage. But his review makes me want to buy this!
    I live in the US.

  • I have never owned a full bottle from Amouage line. I have tried samples of Interlude man and Reflection man and love them. I love deep and thick fragrances as well like vetiver and from what Sebastian talks about in the video I’m excited to try it out.

  • Hi Sibastian! Great review that I have been waiting for. I am big fan of violet leafe notes and the vetiver as well. How do you rate the performance of this compare to beach hut is it close kind of in performance? I definetly need to get my nose on it!
