collage by Steven

Amouage has always been renowned for its story telling. The other additions go back to the Amouage Library Collection’s early years: Opus VII have been renamed Reckless Leather and Opus V Wood Symphony respectively.

The four Eaux de Parfum are now housed in Amouage’s iconic “Khanjar”-inspired bottle, a unique Omani symbol of the highest class and divine beauty.” -a note from the brand. Steven does such a great job reviewing, I will just add the perfumers and key notes

Steven does no hype review at all times, have blind bought many great frag because of him ❤️. Canada

  • Thanks Steven, great review as always!

  • Amr Yahia says:

In my opinion, the standout out bottle out of the four Eaux de Parfum is the Opus VII RECKLESS LEATHER beecause it kinda fits the theme “Khanjar” more. Khanjar in Arabic means dagger and by mentioning it, you can immediately start to capture the textures of smokey dust covered wood, Musk, Oud and the iconic Arabic scents. Obviously we can’t discuss the notes without admiring the Amouage’s special touch on the bottle design. It’s a league of its own! EU.

  • I love all the Amouage fragrances I’ve tried, but I’ve only tried a handful. And I’ve sampled none of the Library collection. So I really appreciated Steven’s evocative descriptions of four of them…and they all sound wonderful. I’d love an opportunity to try them. I’m in Oklahoma, USA. Thanks, as always, for the generous draw!

  • John McDonald says:

Steven does a great job with his presentations.
Would love to win this set.
    Thanks.

  • I tested and love nr 6 the most. One of the best amber i have ever smelled. I have and love also interlude man what a fragrances man just awsome. Love this house beast mode allways

  • I did not know Amouge offerd these fragrance and I’m interested in exploring this brand as a newcomer. Thanks Steven for furthering my knowledge of Amouge.

  • Looking forward in smelling them. I got my boyfriend Amouage Interlude Black Iris for Christmas. It’s a long lasting Fragrance & it smells amazing.

  • David Ecker says:

i heard amazing things about Silver Oud and would like to try it. I live in the USA. i like the standard bottle design.

I love the sound of Opus 5 as I am an iris fan.

  • martin1977 says:

I’m so excited about this. I follow redolessence and it pretty much started my niche journey. So I would love to add these to my growing collection. Judging by the notes these would be right up my alley. Looking forward to this

  • I really enjoyed how Steven focuses on every detail of each fragrance. From the redesign of the bottles and their muted colors to the detailed descriptions of what the fragrances evoke. It really paints a complete picture. As well as giving us so much valuable context and information about the background of each fragrance. It is so helpful to someone, who is relatively new to the fragrance game. He really keeps his audience in mind always, which is awesome! Would be so great to try them out for myself on my skin.

  • I love how Stephen focuses on every aspect of the perfumes. From the redesign of the bottle and the context and history of how they were created to the detailed description of the scents themselves. It really helps me create a mental picture of the scent. And for someone who is relatively new to the frag game, that’s super helpful. Stephen is always clear and articulate, which shows that he always has his viewers in mind.

  • Excellent review. Opus V seems to be a banger! Orris, oud and wood. Previous V seemed to be more floral. I am assuming they changed the composition. VII is a patchouli+leather and I would love to smell Morillas’s work. Rose incense I always wanted to try but it was always overpriced and no samples were available. Silver Oud seems like a beautiful take on oud by Zarokian. USA

  • Exciting that this Michelyn really loves Amouage Opus XIII with oud. From Steven’s review, I enjoyed listening to the descriptions, backgrounds, and personal experiences of these fragrances to figure out which would work best for me. Definitely learned about more perfumers. I really want to try these Amouage fragrances! I live in CA, USA.

  • Thanks for the review/cover on Amouage, it’s as close as I can get to smelling them!

  • Steven’s review’s are always spot on. We’re normally on the same page about thing when he starts explaining. I love the uniformity of the new bottles. I remember the video when he reviewed Silver Oud and now that it’s in the new bottles I am looking to get my nose on it and also Opus VII. I love anything by Alberto Morillas. Let test my luck again. I just saw I won one giveaway and missed the deadline so I m HIGHLY upset with myself

  • Hm, Reckless Oud sounds interesting. But I think my favourite to get to know is the “beastly performer” Opus XIII aka Silver Oud. Two weeks in the seat belt? A bit frightening at the same time though. I’d love to win this set to Germany, thank you for the draw!

  • Waleed Alkaraki says:

You have always been my favorite frangrance reviewer by far. The way you describe cologne is like nothing else. I have personally bought Amouage reflection without smelling it just from your reviews, and I was not disappointed. Amouage is unlike any other fragrance brand as they just don’t make something that smells good. They create a scent that people will remember.

  • So evocative.. as always I learn so much and actually feel Steven’s reviews

    I live in Portugal, EU

  • megabass99 says:

Love that they repackaged the original bottles since it looks more classy … from Chandler, Arizona

  • I love discovery collections. It’s such a great way to find a new fragrance and even figure out which scents are not for you, but make perfect gifts. All four sound delightfully wearable.I’m most interested in Opus V Wood because of my deep and abiding love for iris (orris). Steven is always so entertaining and thorough in his reviews! I’m in MD, USA.

  • I enjoyed Steven’s story about Silver Oud lasting in his car for weeks – must take care not to spray in mine 🙂 I’m in Ireland.

  • Edward Saler says:

I always enjoy Steven’s attention to detail In his reviews and I respect his insights and observations. Im a sucker for anything by Cecile Zarokian so I’m dying to get my nose on Opus XIII.
    Cheers!

  • (Cecile Zarokian) Silver Oud

    Released in 2021

Under its original name Silver Oud, Opus XIII it was a CaFleureBon top ten fragrance of 2021

Amouage Opus XIII is one of the best expressions of oud by Cecile Zarokian and is an example of the benchmark of quality for which Amouage is known A modern masterpiece and is one of the most unique oud fragrances of our time. A wonderful description by Michelyn really enjoyed Stevens review but Silver oud is really the stand out for me. Thanks a million from the UK

  • This was inspired by Orson Welles’ Rosebud, an exotic rose with a trail of Omani frankincense

Top Notes: Elemi, Olibanum (Frankincense) Hyper Absolute, Black Ink Accord; Heart Notes: Damascena Rose Water Essential, Suederal, Frankincense Absolute.; Base Notes: Myrrh, Vanilla, Sandalwood, Cedarwood. A beautiful description by Michelyn and Steven this is one that really jumps out at me. I loved Stevens reviews always honest and analytical. Thanks a lot from the United Kingdom

  • Samuel Bermudez says:

I would love to try these 4 fragrances since I just got 11 of my all time favorites from this house.

  • donsammyo says:

My favorite part of stevens video is how he went into saying Pierre negrin and Alberto morillas did reckless leather since they are two of my favorites perfumers and I am looking for another leather fragrance for the collection. Plus I would love to add 4 more to my amouage collection of 11. Perhaps but the full bottles. I live in Montebello,California, USA.

  • Giorgia295 says:

Sincerely I love the new packaging, it’s a good rebranding decision the old one seems a little but anonymous.
Never tried this line of amouage but I love the brand I think there’s something for everyone and every occasion.
Love steve videos, here’s so calma and relax and yet super professional and meticulous in describing the sents.
    Greetings from Italy

  • BillSCENT says:

I loved Steven’s video because even though these are not new jus he made them sound great and I like that Michelyn added her thought about Opus XIII which I have tried when it was silver oud.
    It really is that good.
Would love to get my nose on them
    USA

  • Steven and Michelyn, thanks so much for content on this. I think remarketing the library collection will bring new attention to some lesser known fragrances from the brand. I have not smelled any of the Opus fragrances but Amouage is my favorite niche brand. I own Enclave and have previously used Epic and Imitation man. After smelling 80% of their offerings I would be honored to receive a discovery set of four fragrances I have not gotten my nose on. Reckless Leather has captured my attention the most as I love Cypriol oil. I live in the eastern United States.

  • Love Amouage but haven’t actually sampled any from the opus collection would love to seeing and hearing the description of these also I like these style bottles so here’s hoping thanks for the review

  • aurora_ru says:

Thank you, Steven, very professional review! Good to see how Amouage continues its journee, althought i feel kind of confused about the new concepts and new designs. When I tested the old collection, opus Nr.6 was my favorite. From the new ones I would like to test one created by Cecile Zarokian.
I live in the EU (Latvia), thanks for the review and for the draw!

  • Cameron C. says:

Steven’s reviews are ALWAYS excellent, but this one really piqued my interest. Amouage is not a house I’m super familiar with (particularly these), so I was grateful for the detailed exploration of the Opus collection. I liked the detailed look at the new bottle design as well as the dive into the smells. I think I’m really going to like OPUS XIII SILVER OUD, but ROSE INCENSE sounds great as well.

  • (Re-commenting, as I forgot to log in…sorry!)

  • I liked how Steven described how the smell of Amouage Opus XIII lasted for about two weeks in his car after some of it got on the seat belt after he used it. High quality oud with different flowers always makes a for heady combination. I would love to try all of these perfumes. Thanks for the reviews Steven and draw. I am a Redolessence subscriber from USA.

  • I love the analysis of each of the perfumes. Would love to try these scents!

  • Zoran Loncarevic says:

And once again a great review of four top fragrances from Amouage, hands down. I am an absolute fan of the house. Great giveaway. Greetings from Germany.

  • I very likes Steven’s review. I have never tried anything from Amouage yet, but I heard a lot of good things about the perfumes of this brand. And these 4 perfumes also sounds fabulous for me from the base of the reviews. All of these perfumes contains notes I love, or notes I never smelled yet, and want to smell. Thank you for the chance. I live in Europe, Serbia.

  • wandering_nose says:

Steven is so clearly enthusiastic about the brand one cannot escape it :). In seriousness, I like his recaps of the four creations and I have two favorites but then, being familiar with the complexity of Amouage fragrances I know one doesn’t KNOW till they have worn their fragrance for a day. Steven’s preference for Opus XIII now renamed to Silver Oud is apparent and he’d got me watching his review of Cecile’s masterpiece in full. I am smitten, would be beyond honored to try those four. Thank you from Dublin, Ireland, EU

  • Steven was very smitten by this new amouage library collection made up of two older scents- opus vii and opus v and new(er) offerings – opus xii and opus xiii. The antidote about spraying Silver oud (opus xiii) in his car and he could smell it for two weeks was a strong illustration of its staying power. I have only two fragrances from amouage, i need to try a few more. I really hope i win this discovery set.

  • Steven really delivers the best reviews out there in youtube. I love Amouage, being Honour my favorite one. I have not tried this colection yet, but would love to do it. Opus XIII looks like is the one I would love the most, because I am a oud lovers and Amouage uses one of the best out there.
    \USA here.

  • Steven is wonderful at suggesting perfumes that 8 can truly love. Maybe it is because he describes them so well and I can then decide for myself. In maryland.

  • i heard amazing things about Silver Oud and would like to try it, the analises makes you imagine the smell of the fragrances and creates the need to smell them.

  • Steven’s reference to these scents being more animalic definitely piqued my interest! I appreciated his clear descriptions of how he experienced each fragrance and the main notes and vibes he gets from them. I’m in the US

  • Rami tovli says:

Amouge news is always a celebration.
Highlighting these 4 perfumes will do for all of us only good.

  • Bryant Worley says:

Steven’s review was quite details and informative. I always appreciate how he highlights the varied intricacies of each fragrance.

I’ve tried some of the Opus Library, and hope to try these. I live in Waldorf, Maryland, USA.

  • I was following many fragrance youtube reviewers, but I did unsubscribe from all of them except Steven’s channel, Redolessence. His reviews are always spot on. We’re normally on the same page about fragrances. Amouage is my love, and I liked the uniformity of the new bottles. I remember the video when he reviewed Silver Oud and now that it’s in the new bottles I am looking to get my nose on it and also Opus V, I love it. Greetings from Sarajevo 🙂

  • Thanks for the great video, Steven. I haven’t tried any Amouage fragrances, but this new collection of bottles look very stately and polished. I’m more interested in the animalic options here—they just sound more bold and memorable—and “Reckless Leather” is a great name. And did you say we can expect more than 10 hours of longevity from Silver Oud? Beastly.

    I’m in the midwest, USA.

  • I always enjoy the analytical approach of Steven’s reviews. In the video review of Library Collection, I especially loved that it comprises four short and concise reviews of four fragrances. I was particularly drawn to OPUS XII, since I am a huge rose lover.
    I reside in the EU.

  • Southirina says:

I am not a video reviews lover and I prefer to read and leave space for my imagination to fill in the details. But I really enjoyed Stephen review, it was clear and pleasant to watch.
And Amouage, as always, gave me a sense of minimalism and luxury.
    Hugs from Romania

  • The last two mentioned in Steven’s review are appealing and worthy. Since the launch of Silver Oud, I was trying to get it but till today out of my reach. I asked one of my friends in Dubai to buy and deliver via someone coming to Pakistan for the Eid celebration.
Thanks for your generosity and I hope I’ll win the draw. Good luck everyone.

I’ve been hearing good things about this collection of fragrances, and Steven’s review only confirmed that I would want to try them. I haven’t tried any of them yet, but Steven’s description of them gave me a better understanding of them. I live in the U.S.A.

  • Steven always gives the best, most accurate descriptions for niche fragrances like Amouage. NV, USA.

  • Akil Inniss says:

I love all the Amouage fragrances and Redolessence is my go-to fragrance librarian.

  • Andrei Artimon says:

I tested and love nr 6 the most. One of the best amber i have ever smelled. I have and love also interlude man what a fragrances man just awsome. Love this house beast mode allways

THanks for the great review Steven!

I love the Amouage brand and all that they have done for Middle Eastern Perfumery.

I love the detail into which Steven goes into for each of the Opus to give us an idea. It’s hard to understand the perfume with names that are just roman numerals.

I absolutely loved the description for Reckless Leather and Rose Incense.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • zhiang0113 says:

Great review! I loved how detailed Steven was – as he always is – covering so many different aspects of the scents. I live in Singapore. Thank you for hosting the giveaway!

  • sephrenia300 says:

Lovely review Steven! What I enjoyed about Steven’s YouTube reviews of the Amouage Library Collection 2022 is how he describes the incense of Rose incense as markedly of the frankincense variety, with it’s lemon and piney facets, as opposed to oppoponax or other varieties of incense. Frankincense is definitely my favorite type of incense material so hearing Steven describe how beautifully it entwins with a clean and bright rose makes me very interested in trying this one for sure. I live in the US.

  • You reviews are always very good and genuine. I always watch your reviews before purchasing any perfumes especially from Amouage. Thank you so much for the great channel
