Composed by Pierre Negrin in 2012,  Amouage Interlude Man quickly gained a cult like status- a spicy, smoky, woody fragrance aromatic featuring oregano, a note not commonly found in perfumery. Eight years later, in 2020,  Amouage Interlude Black Iris Man was introduced with a scent profile that was less aromatic than the original Interlude Man. Perfumer Pierre Negrin removed the oregano note and added the opulence of iris.

Pierre Negrin Of Firmenich

Pierre Negrin of Firmenich is the perfumer of all three Amouage Interlude fragrances

Recently in 2021, a third Interlude Man has been added—Amouage Interlude 53, which is an extrait version of the 2012 classic. Deeper, richer with more perfume oil hence the number 53… Amouage Interlude 53 contains 53 percent pure perfume and is the Omani house’s first extrait for men. I have smelled all three, and in my opinion Amouage Interlude 53 is the closest to the 2012 original, with added dimension, it is amplified and more intense. Each of the three  appeal to a wide variety of perfume connoisseurs. –Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

  • I enjoyed how Sebastian described Interlude 53 as being three dimensional. I have tried the original and would love to give 53 a sniff, if I am the winner. Cheers from Oregon.

  • I love how sebastion compares fragrances in general, I feel like I can really understand what a fragrance is like based on his descriptions and I think if I won I would like to try Interlude 53

  • NikkoNikko says:

Interlude is an amazing creation and easily makes my top 3 of all time along with Journey man and Jubilation XXV. I truly respect the creations of Pierre Negrin. I own the original and have sampled Black Iris. They are both fantastic and I will eventually pick up black Iris as it’s a bit more versatile for daily wear. I think Sebastian is spot on with his descriptions of each and he also prefers the original as do I. Needless to say, interlude 53 is a grail for me. I will try my best to get it in my collection and already have a sample coming in the mail from lucky scent. If I was lucky enough to win the draw I would choose Interlude 53, hands down. I hope they continue this trend and get to jubilation XXV, I can’t even imagine the depth with that one. Thank you for the chance to win!!! From Idaho, USA

  • ThatMulattoDude says:

I haven’t tried any Amouage fragrances to this date. I’ve heard a lot about Interlude Man, the Blue Beast, and I’m intrigued about sampling some of their offerings. If I were to win, I would choose Black Iris because of the transition from citrus to woody amber which I really like in fragrances. I would have to really get my nose on a sample set to nail down which 1 I’d like to see as an extrait but, from the note breakdown I’d choose Lyric Man. Appreciate the content and offer of the giveaway. Best from Virginia, USA!

  • As always I enjoyed Sebastian’s review. He really broke down the differences between the 3 fragrances. I’m interested in Interlude 53 based off the description of it being more full and 3D. I live in Indiana USA

  • I have a bottle of interlude man but skipped interlude man black Iris. I would love Interlude 53 because I would love the very three dimensional qualities. How about Epic extrait
    USA

  • Michael L says:

I appreciate how Sebastian described the layers to the fragrance and the distinction between the three versions. I’ve only smelled the original fragrance on a friend who wore it at his wedding recently – definitely a black tie scent. I’d love to try the Black Iris since the 53 would probably overpower my nose. I live in Atlanta GA, I’d love to see Jubiliation as an extrait as my friend said it’s it’s favorite.

  • Sebastian’s reviews are always detailed and free from the hype common with fragrance channels. I own and love the original Interlude (and have created a couple of followers). I like his description of the Black Iris version as brighter and lighter. That really grabbed my attention – It is something I would like to have for office wear. Thank You

  • ScentitarFragrance says:

I really enjoyed that Sebastian told us who the interlude 53 is for and he described the concentration. It is always lovely that he tells us what the note actually smells like. I would choose interlude 53, since i am familiar with the original and want a more smooth and intense version. It would be very fun to experience it and i can only imagine how strong it is. USA, MS . I would love to see jubilation 25 my favorite as a extrait, but i think reflection man would sell the best.

  • I enjoyed the air of experience in Sebastian’s review of these three versions of Interlude Man. I have not yet tried Interlude 53 or either of the other two Interludes. I live in Virginia, USA. I choose Interlude 53 because from what I have heard from reviewers about Interlude Man, I’m confident I will one of the diehard fans who love Interlude 53. Thank you

  • Andrei Artimon says:

Love the house , have black iris , would love to be on the winning end of this one , new york , usa .

  • Big fan of Interlude myself, although I haven’t smelled any of the flankers. In fact, it’s one those fragrances that never fails to draw attention for me…..in a bad way. LOL I suppose that’s why I love it so much. Masks don’t stand a CHANCE. Very intrigued by that increase in concentration in Interlude 53 (hope to see an extrait of Reflection), but I suppose I’m more drawn to the Black Iris flanker because of that extra brightness that Sebastian mentioned. That would be my choice. Might make it easier to wear in the warmer months. Also really enjoy that 3-fragrance review style, especially if they’re from the same brand or flankers of the same perfume. Gives a bit more perspective on how a scent fits in a line and how it might cater to a particular taste. Plus that matte grey background kicks butt. Nice and clean. A solid comparison! Michigan.

  • twiggy3634 says:

Sebastian did a good job narrowing down which one I’d like the most and that’s Interlude 53 because he said it has an animalic edge to it. I haven’t tried any of them but 53 would be my pick. I’m in Indiana USA. If I could choose the next Amouage extrait it would be Jubilation without a doubt!

  • Sebastian’s on all the amouage interlude variants was very educative and factual. Having tried the Interlude OG and the black iris with samples I got a while in 2020, Interlude man goes a little too powerful and the Black iris was perfect for my skin, Sebastian’s YouTube review made me understand that Interlude 53 definitely is not an option. I live in Maryland and my option is definitely Interlude Black Iris

  • Patrick Alexander says:

Love the comprehensive overview of all three fragrances on Sebastian’s channel but I’m most interested in Interlude 53. I enjoy the original but, for me, the darker the better. (New Jersey)

  • AleksCipri says:

This was a very interesting video to watch. I haven tried any of the Amougae fragrances other than Meander. So, I also haven tried any of the Interlude perfumes. I was always very interested in them especially Interlude man. I am a big fan of dark and smokey fragrances. But, I am often not a fan of iris. It really depends how it is done, so even after listening to Sebastian’s review, I don’t really know if I would like the Black Iris version. What I like is that Interlude 53 seems to be richer stronger and a bit more animals according to Sebastian, so in case I’m picked I would choose Interlude 53. I am also very interested in trying Jubilation XXV, so perhaps that would be my choice to be made extract next. I’m from Illinois, US.

  • Sebastian always nails the comparisons and clearly explained the difference between the three. I’ve never tried any of the Amouage fragrances; they are quite expensive, and I’m rather new to fragrances. Interlude 53, the extrait, seems to have it all. It’s complex and the nicest (and also the priciest), so it’s the one I’d like to try the most. USA based.

  • I always love Sebastian’s reviews. I’ve never sniffed any of these (or any other Amouage fragrance), but his review has left me torn between the original Interlude Man and the Interlude 53. But since I like animalic / leather fragrances and Sebastian says 53 leans more in that direction, I think Interlude 53 is what I’d choose if I won the draw. I’m in Oklahoma, USA. Thanks, as always, for the generous giveaway!

  • Thank you for your review as always, Sebastian. Love my bottle of non-magnetic Interlude. I would love to try Interlude 53.

  • I really liked how Sebastian explained the differences and similarities or all 3 versions. Also how he sort of explained if u like certain things which may be the one for you. Ive only tried the original and briefly from a dabber so didn’t really experience it fully. Would really like to try Black Iris and 53 both sound more appealing than the original to me. As of now my favorite Amouage is Reflection Man and it would be really interesting to see what an extrait version of that elegent scent would be like. Its a tough choice between 53 and Black Iris but I suppose if I was to win Id go with Black Iris. Id choose Black Iris because I am a big fan of iris and i think the rosemary vs oregano and that it is a bit lighter than the original make it the one that would likely suit me best. Thanks for the very generous draw, from CT USA.

  • Trinity33 says:

Sebastian has a wonderful way of describing the nuances of fragrance and his analysis of the Amouage Interlude trifecta is fascinating. I’ve not tried any of these, but as an iris aficionado, I would definitely go for Black Iris. I would live to see Amouage Epic in extrait form. Commenting from MD, USA.

  • Amouage fragrances are different. In my opinion you should never blind buy , without sampling first. Some do smell very different on different people, when sprayed on skin. For example both Sunshine Men , and Reflection Man are two completely different scents on me , and on my husband. Sunshine Men is a gourmand on me , but on hubby is dry , herbal and sour. You can’t tell we’re wearing the same fragrance !
If you’re a fragrance lover, you know Interlude Man. Smoky , spicy amber at its finest.
I guess i’ll have to find out myself what I’ll get from Interlude 53 and Interlude Black Iris, both i don’t know.
By the way favorite Amouage is Sunshine Men , but Reflection Man Extrait sounds great
I’d love to win Interlude 53
    Thanks for the draw
    USA

  • Scott Wilbur says:

Sebo is awesome and makes me want to run and shop! What’s not to like about woody, spicy? Throw in a little animalic touch and voila,53
! That’s the one for me!! Illinois awaits?

  • Eric Nelson says:

Sebastian is always great, I learn something new everytime! I have never tried any of the Interlude Fragrances, but they have been on my want to try list forever!

  • I have to try the full loaded 53. Spice, woody & animalic? I’m in. Illinois here. I haven’t tried the Iris or the 53 so I don’t know for sure the differences but the 53 sounds scrumptious from Sebastian’s reviews.I would like to see an extrait of Reflection Man. Give me a freshie with power!!!!.

  • TDizzle44 says:

I’ve been waiting and hoping for Sebastian to do a comparison of these three so I was happy to see it when he posted it today. I’ve been fortunate enough to try Interlude and Interlude 53, but I still need to sample Black Iris. The original is the type of fragrance I should love in theory, but something about it I couldn’t justify getting a full bottle. I decided to sample 53, and whatever they did, they managed to smoothen out the exact part I was not the biggest fan of. I’ve been going back and forth whether I can bring myself to fork over the cash for 53, so I’m crossing my fingers and tossing this in. Finally, I think out of the Amouage fragrances I’ve smelled, Lyric Man has a ton of potential to make a killer extrait version. From Phoenix, AZ. (although Interlude 53 certainly wouldn’t be my choice of fragrance in the summer months here lol)

  • The thing that I enjoyed most about Sebastian’s review was the brevity and accuracy of it, to this is added the three-dimensional perspective that he gave to Interlude 53. So far, I’ve only tried the original Interlude and I enjoy the resinous quality quite a lot.

I currently live in Florida (USA), and I would have to choose the Interlude 53 version, because normally higher perfume oil concentrations give a fuller experience (fragrance transition from top, heart, bottom), and better performance. Finally, I would like to see an extrait version of Jubilation XXV.

  • Darren OKeefe says:

I enjoyed Sebastians discussion of Amouage Interlude Man 53 and his comments on the oil concentration.

I love and own Interlude Black Iris and choose that version as my favourite because I love iris, but would love to try the 53 version. I am in Portland Oregon.

I think Jubilation XXV would be amazing as an extrait.

  • Dubaiscents says:

I couldn’t wait to hear what Sebastian had to say about one of my all time favorite scents! (And that’s saying a lot!) although, I might politely disagree that Amouage hasn’t done any extraits before Intetlude 53 since they have the parfum/extrait versions of many of their woman scents. My first and absolute favorite being Memoir woman extrait. Interlude 53 is the first time they’ve done an extrait of a man’s scent though. I’d love to see an extrait of Jubilation XXV (the women’s version is my second favorite). And there is no question, I’d go for the bottle of 53 if I won since I own the other two already. Thanks for the draw. US

  • Jzuniga7210 says:

Enjoy how Sebastian explains and compares the scents to be able and tell them apart. I have smelt the original would like to try the other two as well. Here from Texas jubilation XXV would be great to smell in extrait

  • Gabriel Gallawa says:

Sebastian really helped me decide which version I would like. I have the original Interlude and love it. I was debating getting the Black Iris version but I’m not a fan of powdery scents. Sebastian convinced me that the 53 is for me. I live in Davenport, Florida and another scent I’d like to see as an extrait is Jubilation XXV. It would take an already opulent scent into a who new realm of fragrant sorcery.

  • Paul Ransom says:

Sebastian described the differences of all 3 fragrances superbly. He recommended which one is best according to my tastes.
I don’t own any of these 3 fragrances but I find the Interlude 53 most appealing since it is described as 3 dimensional and will cut through the New York City winter well. I am from New York City.

  • Houssem "Sam" Ajjel says:

I love Jubi 25 almost to an obsession , I have a large sample of interlude Man and I like it too , would love to try the 53 flanker .

  • I enjoyed Sebastian’s breakdown and comparisons of all three fragrances! The man is just a wealth of knowledge and he also paints a clear picture when he is speaking and comparing.
I have tried Interlude Man and Interlude Black Iris. If I won I would choose Interlude Black Iris to me, Amouage captured everything I love about the original and they’ve amped the oregano and smokiness in Black Iris and tamed down the overall wearing experience which I do appreciate! I would love it if Amouage would give us an extrait version of Jubilation XXV!!
    I live in Pennsylvania.

  • Danny Nguyen says:

I liked the review learning the differences between all 3 versions of them and knowing the most expensive is over 50% oil. I would choose the 53 version just because it sounds so luxurious. Live in Florida thank you. I don’t have much knowledge of the house so I can’t answer the question of the next extrait version to anticipate.

  • Nine Perfumes says:

What i most enjoyed about the review is the detailed differences on all three perfumes.
i have not tried black iris or 53 and i would love to own a bottle as i have tried the original interlude and loved it.

  • I would like to try Amouage 53 .It woud be interesting if Amouage made Reflection Man into an extrait. From Chicago

  • Please enter me in the drawing for the Amouage Interlude Black Iris fragrance. Thanks for sponsoring the drawing. Bye for now, Grosse Ile Mi. USA

  • Bryant Worley says:

Sebastian’s reviews are always so deep, as far as information. He never short-changes his viewers who, most likely feel engorged after them. And his review of these 3 fragrances fit right in with that – he gives lots of details, comparisons, enthusiasm, breakdowns of his note breakdowns, sometimes. Whose the master? SEBASTIAN is the master! (that was a reference to a movie. Can ya guess it?)

If I win, I choose the O.G., Amouage Interlude Man – – I have never smelled either of these 3, but the power emission that I’ve heard comes from Interlude Man is worth sniffing.

The only 2 Amouage fragrances that I’ve experienced are Lyric Man and Reflection Man, and I would only want them to be extrait if Amouage PROMISED that they would become ferocious projection beasts, dragging people to me to get a closer whiff
;-D. If not, why bother, especially if they already last a long time?

I live in Waldorf, Maryland, USA.

  • Nikhil Bogadi says:

I really enjoyed the comparison having owned Interlude man myself.I think Interlude 53 is a very interesting scent seeing that it has a high oil content with Amouage quality.I live in the Bay Area and would love to get my nose to Amouage Interude 53.

  • Iris is the note that caught my attention. For this draw I’ll choose the Black Iris. I don’t have any thoughts on an extrait recommendation. US

  • As always, Sebastian really makes you understand the fragrances and their nuances! I love the description of interlude 53 being almost a 3D version of the original. I still think Black Iris would be the version for me, because I am just such a sucker for iris in fragrance! I’m in Pennsylvania. And I think I’d love to see Reflection Man as an extrait!

  • IvanVelikov says:

Wow is Christmas coming up again soon ? 😉
Like Sebastian said this giveaway is for die hard Interlude Man fans , I’m definitely one of them.
Every time I’m thinking about Amouage, I’m thinking about Interlude Man . Stunning fragrance.Happy to own it , one of the best , if not the best ever created in the incense category . Finished 3 bottles during the years , and I’m
on my 4th , and already made a dent on it .
Both Interlude Black Iris and Interlude 53 are in my wish list, and I like the idea behind both. Keep the Interlude Man DNA , and change the clothes, same body , different suits 🙂
Interlude 53 would make me beyond happy
Reflection Man I believe needs Extrait version
Fantastic giveaway, special thanks to both Sebastian, and Europerfumes.

  • Kris Eikenbery says:

I love Sebastian’s video on Amouage scents. I have not tried any, but the Black Iris sounds very delicious! I do plan to try some of the fragrances offered by Amouage.

  • This was such a hard decision. I think I would choose Black Iris – enjoy a more uplifting perfume. I loved Sebastian’s review and how he was able to better explain. He’s a gem. USA

  • Patrick Halbig says:

I am interested in Interlude 53. I have the other two and would love to complete the set. Jubilation XXV needs a return to its oily roots as well. I hope Amouage does more extraits. Texas.

  • I liked Sebastian’s overview of the line and the comparison and contrast between each interpretation. For me the most appealing one is Black Iris, as the oregano note he described in the original and 53 might be too daring for me! Great review!

  • WaltherP99 says:

    What a draw
At the moment i do own 4 Amouage fragrances – Jubilation XXV for men – the best Amouage imo , regular Intelude Man also known in the fragrance community as “The Blue Beast” , Lilac Love and Blossom Love .
I’m waiting for my Interlude Black Iris to arrive , getting sample of Interlude 53 is much harder.
I can’t share my own thoughts, like I usually do. Both do sound really good, Black Iris with added Iris and rosemary, instead of oregano, and Interlude 53 with much higher concentration.
Not an easy task to pick between the two.
Interlude 53 please, it’s rarer , limited edition, fuller, my main reasons for my choice.
I would 100% buy Jubilation XXV Extrait

  • Justin Thomas says:

What I enjoyed the most from Sebastian’s video is how he explained the similarities and differences between the versions of Amouage Interlude. That helps me decided which one I think I would enjoy the most. Please enter me in the giveaway. If I win (fingers crossed) the fragrance I would want would be Interlude Black Iris. I live in Louisville, Kentucky

  • Margarita Passmore says:

I am a woman, but I like Interlude -all of them. Sebastian is my favorite fragrances reviewer on YouTube

  • Christos GX says:

I loved the fact of the different dimensions on the review, not that much of a fan of interlude man,but those seem interesting.i believe inteerlude black iris is the most likeable for many.Iam not in the usa, just wanted to express my humble opinion.

  • Enjoyed Sebastian’s review as always, especially his comparison of the three Amouage Interlude perfumes. I haven’t tried any Amouage perfumes, yet, though I have tried a cheaper version of Interlude Man, called Midnight Oud, which the Internet gurus say is quite similar to Amouage Interlude Man. I like Midnight Oud a lot, so I am sure would love all 3 of these Amouage offerings. Beautiful bottles. I do like woody, smoky, earthy, dark perfumes, so if I were to win this very generous draw, I’d choose Amouage Interlude 53, as it is a more intense, more alive, 3D version of Amouage Interlude Man. Thanks Sebastian and Michelyn for your reviews and notes. I am in the USA.

  • Thanks for a wonderful comparison, Sebastian -detailed, yet to the point. I have to sample fragrances from this house, but would love to win Interlude 53 as it seems to be the most well rounded fragrance of the three. No comment on the extrait question due to lack of familiarity with this house. Best regards from Plano, Texas.

  • I learned from Sebastian review that Amouage 53 is more oil than alcohol and it is also more animalic and leathery than iris version. SInce it is extrait, it makes sense that some notes like oregano are easier to pick and there is also more contrast between notes. I have the original Interlude which I acquired somewhere around 2015 so my choice is Amouage 53 as it seems closer to the early version of the original. I would like to see Amouage Epic man made into extrait. I do have the extrait version of Amouage Jubilation for Women in addition to the edp versions of both men and women Jubilation. I am in US

  • vickalicious says:

I’m so glad that Sebastian did this comparison video! I’d only tried the original Interlude Man, which I really enjoy. I’ve been very curious about the Black Iris, and didn’t even know about the latest Interlude 53. This review was very helpful, as are all of Sebastian’s videos. I would love to win a bottle of the original Interlude Man, which I think is a fantastic leather fragrance–as Sebastian mentioned, I like the oregano note which adds a unique twist. Thanks for the giveaway! Located in the US.

  • Frankie Detosil says:

Sebastian always gives the best review. The comparison of the three versions is exactly what I would love to know. I own a sample of Interlude Man and I really love it. He made the other two super interesting and now I am super curious what the other two smells like. Ugh! Definitely would love to try these.

  • When Sebastian explains that the main difference between the original and 53 is that 53 has a “3D” quality, that was like a bolt of lightning. What an insightful way to express the difference between the 2 fragrant experiences! So I’d prefer 53, to sample this 3D-ness for myself. I’ve never tried any Amouage scents. (USA)

  • Sebastián is always brutally honest. Based on his review I think Interlude Black Iris would be my choice. I love the original but do sometimes wish there was a lighter note. I would love to see Reflection Man made into an extrait version. I can’t get enough of that scent. Regards from Mesa, Arizona!

  • Deangnosis says:

Another great review from Sebastian explaining the contrast of Interlude flankers. I was surprised Amouage went that route at all but I suppose it was a smart business move. Dry complex and dark fragrance. Sounds like 53 will be outright nuclear with that perfume oil concentration. From the US.

  • Bubeto_GG says:

I wear Amouage fragrances for a long time, but I much prefer men’s versions , despite being a woman.
Own full bottles of Jubilation XXV – 100% unisex fragrance , Journey Woman -the only one on pair with men’s version, and Lilac Love .
Of course Interlude Man I’m well aware of, but the new Black Iris and Interlude 53 i still don’t know.
Both intrigue me in a different way, Black Iris for the addition of Iris, and Interlude 53 because of 3D experience. Watching movies in 3D is so much better, 3D Interlude Man?
I’d like to know Interlude 53 more.
“Is there an Amouage fragrance you would like to see made into an extrait?”
I presume Michelyn means Man’s , or the new Renaissance Collection, because most female targeted Amouage fragrances already have extraits , but for some reason the sales of those is limited to UK and Middle East. That’s what the manager of Amouage boutique at Lowndes St in London told me.
I would be tempted by extraits of Jubilation XXV and Lilac Love .
    Thanks a lot

  • Sebastian does a great job explaining the differences of the three version of Interlude Man. He is thorough and engaging. All sound interesting but I have smelled none of them yet. I would choose Black Iris Man as I am a big fan of powdery Iris, but all of them sound interesting. From the house, I have decants of Lyric Man and Silver Man. An extrait of Lyric Man would be a standout. KY, USA.

  • Michael Werno says:

I loved getting Sebastian’s comparisons and contrasts of these three and how he breaks down the differences in each one. I haven’t tried any of these, but would like to try Interlude Black Iris after watching several reviews on it. If I win, I would pick Interlude Black Iris. I think an extrait of Reflection Man would be great to make it a little richer for winter. I live in NY.

  • This sounds like an awesome chance at trying out interlude 53. I absolutely loved the sample I had of the original interlude, been wearing it over the last 3 months. I tried black iris in store, and It was good too, but for me I am enamored with the original. (full bottle buy for sure, along with jubilation xxv and Dia man.) When I saw that the 53 version came out I was ecstatic. My brother is also a huge fan of amouage fragrances, so I am entering in this USA drawing for him while I am away from home just a little while longer. If I win, he’s getting a really awesome birthday gift! Thank you Cafleurebon for always being a very creative and fun place to learn more about the world of olfactory experiences. Thanks to the hardworking team at Cafleurebon and of course Sebastian Jara for all of his YouTube reviews which really got me back into the world of fragrances. Hoping to win interlude 53! -California USA

  • I loved the precision of Sebastian’s review. I have not tried any of these scents but if I won the draw I would chose the Black Iris, since I love the scent of rosemary and I always feel elegant in Orris. I live in the United States, currently riding out the plague in NJ.

  • Norcal_nose says:

Excellent review Sebastian, I’d like to try INTERLUDE 53! Hello from northern California!

  • Mark Mitchell says:

I have to say the way Sebastian breaks down the fragrances and explains the differences between all three is awesome.

I currently own the original Interlude Man, and while it took a couple of seatings for me to “get it”, I now get it and LOVE it.

Ive never tried 53 or Black Iris but I would love to add them to my collection and compare side by side for myself.

I know that 53 is significantly more expensive, but if given the opportunity I would definitely choose Black Iris, as it seems to be a little more different from the original while still maintaining the originals essence, if that makes sense.

Thank you for this opportunity, winning this would be amazing

  • petergigov says:

One of the best giveaways for the past few months. I like how Cafleurebon and Europerfumes are giving us a chance to pick between the original Interlude Man, more powerful Interlude 53 , and maybe the most wearable Interlude , Black Iris. I believe I’m experienced with Amouage fragrances , and I’m always careful.
Both Journey and Fate Man are the prime examples why you should never judge the book by its cover. Both are spicy, both dry , both openings are kind of harsh. I was looking for spicy fragrance for the Autumn , and it was not an easy task. Both are well made , you can pick up the quality right away.Hesitation was killing me, but Journey and up in my possession. I also have 10ml decant of Interlude Man, never smelled 53 and Black Iris , but I’d love to. I also need to try Overture Man and Women.
I’m surprising myself with Interlude 53 pick , I just can’t stop thinking about 53% oils in it , and 3D experience Sebastian said it has.
Reflection Man Extrait is a must, I love how it smells, but performance…..
    Overly exsiting giveaway , USA
    Regards

  • From Amouage I’ve only tried the original Interlude Man, Jubilation Man, and Lyric Man. I’m not sure about the whole magnetic and non-magnetic cap deal, but Interlude and Jubilation were amazing. If 53 is all about a potency increase then I think they should do the same for Jubilation. I haven’t smelled Black Iris, but I’m in the camp that is all about performance. More is more. I really can’t blame them for wanting to revisit this fragrance again. For Sebastian to say that it’s 3d, I wonder if he could mention something else 3d so I could better understand. It just seems to me that maybe it’s enveloping… all encompassing?

Posting from Pennsylvania, US and I’d choose Interlude 53.

If you’re really into high end perfumery, you know Interlude Man, I sure do. One of the fragrances I can easily call “Iconic” .
Impossible Iris and Interlude 53 are new to me, but I have no doubts both are shapeshifting fragrances , like all Amouage fragrances I personally know.
In my opinion Amouage did the right thing , by not deviating too much Impossible Iris and Interlude 53, from Interlude.
I love cooking with , and smelling oregano , incense I burn every day, the iris… I have a feeling the two new fragrances will smell spectacular.
Jubilation XXV is a staple in my collection . Smells a bit like a mix between BlackBerry crumble traybake and BlackBerry Swirl Muffins with honey butter both with cinnamon. Can’t help it- Pastry Chef in me goes forward ‍each and every time. My favorite Amouage .
The stronger, the better , I’d love to win Interlude 53 .
For my taste, Jubilation XXV Extrait I will instantly blind buy , without sampling.
Appreciate the review, the comparison between all 3 Interludes , and the giveaway campaign.

  • I always enjoy Sebastian’s reviews but his comparison reviews are some of my favorites. You can really hear how experienced he is in the language and subtleties of fragrances and ingredients. I think if I were to win I would choose Amouage Interlude 53 which was his pick. I really enjoy this house and have a few favorites: Bracken Woman, Opus IV, and Jubilation 25 get a lot of wear from me. Thank you for the review, I’m in the US.

  • I like how Sebastian describes Interlude as a dark scent. I’ve had interlude sample about 6 years ago when I purchased Amouage Molook attar oil in Kuala Lumpur on vacation. I enjoy it very much and would love a whole bottle.

  • If I win the giveaway draw, then I’d choose Amouage “Interlude Man 53” even though I’d probably enjoy any of them. I haven’t tried any Amouage fragrances yet. I chose “53” because it seems like a more intense version of the first one. I might prefer the first one over the second one because I can like “dark” fragrances with aromatic qualities (e.g. by means of the oregano aspect). The third one, though, seems like it might be the best one to me. I wish that I knew what all of the Amouage fragrances are like. I live in MD., U.S.A. I am a subscriber to Sebastian’s channel.

  • I always enjoy how Sebastian describe fragrances. I do love and own a full bottles of the original Interlude Man but my husband said it smells a little masculine on me. I only wear men or unisex fragrances so I personally love to wear Interlude Man on myself. I agree the Oregano is a little too strong to make it harder to wear so I do want to try the Interlude Man Black Iris as people said it’s easier to wear.

I like when Sebastian tells what to expect, that is what you get! I love that there is Oregano in this! I have tried any of the three fragrances, but I would love to win Interlude 53 as I am fan of very strong fragrances and Sebastian noted that it was a little peppery. I live in Hawaii USA! Thank you.

I like that he was informative about the differences. I have never tried an Amouage.
Definitely. Of course I would definitely lik3 to win Amouage 53 a more pure version of the original. Meander and Enclave would also be great for a high concentration of oils.

  • I’m a big fan of the OG Amouage interlude and it’s great to see the Sebastian’s thoughts and comparison with the other flankers.
I have entered in many giveaways but if I have an opportunity to pick only one giveaway it will be definitely “Amouage 53”
This must be a beast masterpiece and I’m afraid that I might miss this frag since it’s a pricier and might not be available to discount sites.
    Thank you for the opportunity!
    Many greetings from New Jersey!

Thank you for the great review Sebastian.

Having grown up in Oman, I have fond memories of walking into the Amouage store and just being enchanted with all the fragrances.

I love how Sebastian in the opening talks about this scent as being anti-amber – dark, dry and sensual. The use of Oregano is so unique to this fragrance and always reminds me of zaatar (even though it’s not a strong scent reminder)

I would love to win a bottle of Amouage 53. I’m just a huge fan of the bottles, with the khanjar shape in the cap.

I think if there is one to be made into an extrait, it should be the Jubilation series.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • I’m from Virginia and am a big fan of Cafleurebon and Smelling great fragrances reviews channel. Another very detailed and interesting review from Sebastian, I would personally go with Amouage interlude 53 as well as it is the latest and in extrait form, Amouage memoir is the one I would be interested in experiencing in extrait form.

Just got a chance to sample the original Interlude Man and wow is it a masterpiece. Always appreciate Sebastian’s reviews and comparisons and though a sample of Interlude 53 would be interesting, the original seems strong enough for my tastes with wafts of it reaching the other side of a table *outdoors* after only 2 sprays. So the original would be my choice. The only other Amouage that I have tried thus far is Jubilation XV and that one didn’t quite meet my expectations, so feel like they went in the right direction making an extrait of Interlude. • I love Amouage Interlude and loved how Sebastian described the differences. That spicy, smokey blend is so gorgeous. But what really struck me about Interlude 53 is how he describes it as three dimensional and “alive”. I also really love that it is twice the oil concentration. I’d love to win Interlude 53.
    I live in the USA.

  • I had Interlude Man in the past, so I know it well, I still keep my empty bottle. Bold fragrance for self-assured wearers, smoky, spicy and resinous scent once you smell, you’ll never forget.
Black Iris I’ve heard, but Interlude 53 I was not aware of. Giving two different twists on a classic, is something I appreciate.
My favorite Amouage is Jubilation XXV . What a masterpiece of a fragrance. If I have to live with 4 fragrances until the rest of my life , Jubilation XXV will be one of those 4. Sebastian himself started this challenge on his YouTube channel. As I said Jubilation XXV is on a different level. First time I’ve smelled it my eyes started rolling out.
“Is there an Amouage fragrance you would like to see made into an extrait?”
I’ll give you two answers, coming from two different perspectives
    A) From marketing, and sales perspective Reflection Man is in need of more potent Extrait variant. From all Amouage fragrances I personally know, it’s the weakest one.
    B) For my own liking
Jubilation XXV Extrait = Shut Up and Take My Money
    I would prefer Interlude 53
Great review and generous giveaway, thank you

I think Sebastian did a great job of describing the three and also contrasting their differences. Michelyn certainly amplified that review. If I were to win I would love 53. I love Ubar and think it would be great as an extrait. Many thanks to Sebastian and Michelyn for great reviews and many thanks to Euro Perfumes for making this draw possible. I’m in the USA

  • Michael Prince says:

I love how Sebastian explains in great detail the new release Amouage Interlude 53 and how it relates to the original Amouage Interlude and Amouage Interlude Black Iris. I like how this one is most closely resembles the original, but with an increases oil concentration. Because of the above listed reasons I would pick Amouage Interlude 53. I would like to see Reflection Man made into an extrait to improve it’s performance. I am from Ohio, USA.

  • Sebastian as usually explain with all his expression, and as usually I want to buy. Never tried Interlude series, but love to try interlude 53

  • Thank you Sebastian for reviewing the third iteration of Interlude Man. I’m not a big fan of the original but Interlude Black Iris sounds like it could be a good fit for me as I like the Rosemary note as well as powdery notes. My favorite from the house so far is Epic Man and I’d love to see it in Extrait version. I’m in USA

  • From the very first moment I smelled Amouage Interlude, it was an instant love for me. Many people complain about the oregano, but as Sebastian said, this herb adds a unique spicy touch not often found in other fragrances. The most interesting statement I liked from Sebastian’s review is how Interlude 53 has a more 3D shape to its development with each of the elements being more alive and animated. If I were to win this draw, Interlude 53 would be my choice. Thanks so much for the chance! I’m in Oregon, US.

  • Rick Mohammed says:

I have the OG and the review had a great breakdown of the differences and qualities between the three versions. Would love to try 53.

  • Carlos De La Torre Jr says:

Sebastian is my fav youtube reviewer. I just love his descriptions and his nose has never lead me wrong. I need to try these 3 scents.

I have only tried Meander from Amouage which i loved and would like to see that made an extract.
