“An olfactive escape to a place of freedom and oblivion where nature overpowers all senses.”-Beach Hut Man
The mark of an extraordinary perfume company creative director is one who knows exactly what is needed, and when people need it. Amouage creative director Christopher Chong has done exactly that with the latest release Beach Hut Man. As tenacious and long lasting as the wild grass that grows on the beach, this beautiful and compelling fragrance will be loved and worn by men and women alike.

With a world seemingly gone quite mad full of hurricanes, earthquakes, forest fires, political conflict, it is without question that what is needed in times of great stress are moments and places of calm and solitude. That is exactly what Beach Hut Man provides; a quiet and serene fragrant retreat where one can unplug from the constant barrage of electronic news, media,e- mail, and just be.

Whenever life feels too “big”, I find solace and succor in the vast, endless and uncontrollable oceans of the world, often content just to wander or sit and think, to go inward and try to figure it all out.

Beach Hut Man is the olfactive equivalent of a weathered and grey wind-blasted cottage hidden in the dunes surrounded by tall grass and sand, where one can hide away from all the drama and stress and reconnect with the magic and wild medicine of nature.

Hiking through drifts of wind-swept sand held in place by rickety beach fences and tall grasses you make your way down to the deserted beach where solitude awaits. Rock Rose and other hardy succulents grow intermittently in the occasional mounds of earth surrounded by the sand, and you stop to pick some wild mint and rub it between your fingers and relish the cool fresh aroma surrounding you and as you exhale your heart slows and you start to feel at peace.
Stepping over sun bleached logs of driftwood strewn about like pick-up stix, you smell the sand, salt, and moss that clings tenaciously to the wind-battered wood. In the distance you can see the walls and roofline of the cabin that has become a haven to you in these storm-tossed times. Ivy clings to the sides of the small house resisting everything thrown at it, as it continues to thrive and grow despite ill-winds and tempestuous changing times; the ivy a perfect metaphor for the stormy seas and emotional rip tides that tug and pull, threatening to overcome yet in the end receding and allowing you to reach a state of quiet amidst all the daily turmoil that modern life can provide. The rusted hinges resist as you open the door to this generations-old cabin where you can rest at last, and know that your hearts ease awaits within.
Notes: Mint, Orange Blossom, Galbanum, Vetiver, Moss, Ivy, Patchouli, Myrrh, Dry Woods
