Perfumology in King of Prussia +#shopsmallbusinesssaturday $50 Gift Certificate Draw

Today is Black Friday and if you’re like me, the madness began last week as hundreds of e-blasts filled your inbox. Something closer to my heart is Small Business Saturday (which is November 25, 2017); I am not alone as the page has nearly 4 million likes on FaceBook. Cheers to the American indie retailers and  entrepreneurs who think global but have local brick and mortar stores as well as e-shops…not in Paris, New York or London but in towns that aren’t usually on one’s travel perfume itinerary.

Nir Guy, owner of Perfumology

Perfumology is a family owned perfumery with an olfactive symphony of scents unparalleled in the Philadelphia area. Owner Nir Guy curates exclusive brands to this new perfumery located in the Court at King of Prussia, an upscale mall near Philadelphia. We’ve scoured the world for the best fragrances made of quality and unique ingredients,” Guy explains. “These are small batch, artisan grade scents that reflect the trends in fashion and beauty.”

Belle Fleur, Etat Libre d'Orange

The new Perfumology store, which opened its doors October 2017, boasts a modern design with spalted maple shelves and counters from single tree from a farm in Lancaster County, Pa. Guy worked to design an atmosphere that would allow for clean presentation of perfumes, simple to the eye and easy to navigate between brands.

Nick Steward of Galliavant at Perfumology for a Personal Appearance last week.

The philosophy at Perfumology: “It’s all about luxury, taste, flavor, and smell”, according to Guy, “scents that make you happy for your person, room and grooming ritual.”

Parfums Dusita at Perfumology

With several new brands, Perfumology is a stockist for Parfums Dusita (Le Douceur de Siam is popular), Parfums Lubin (one of the best sellers for the boutique is Akaad for men), Gallivant (Nick Steward the brand’s founder gallivanted to KOP last week, and in a few hours every perfume in stock nearly sold out …Tel-Aviv and Brooklyn are favorites.

Zoologist perfumes are favorites, and Bat the 2016 Art and Olfaction Award winner (Victor Wong and Ellen Covey) flies off the shelf, at night (online). Perfumology also stocks celebrity-coveted Belle Fleur Candles, a collaboration between award-winning owner Tony Perez and perfumer Jerome Epinette. Each candle burns for over 50 hours and the aromas are luxurious scents highlighting floral and essential raw oils. No surprise that Queen Bey’s favorite Mayan Tuberose lights up client’s faces. Perfumology also offer a complete line of men’s grooming products including Chiseled Face, Catie’s Bubbles and Charcoal Goods.

With over 50  designer, niche and artisan fragrances, Perfumolgy will continue to add new scents and products with a focus on the hard to find and the unique. Perfumology’s own creation “Blyss” is the store’s best seller, and no, Nir doesn’t hard sell it; read Gail Gross’ review here for why customers love it!

Blyss is Nir’s tribute creation for his wife. I was about to order this from Nir but plan was sidelined when I saw in Fragrantica that this was labeled as a womens fragrance. Lucky to have gotten sample of this from Nir himself so I figured it out that it is actually a unisex fragrance. It remains to be in my to-buy frag and perhaps this will make it happen immediately as planned. San Diego

  • Lubin and Zoologist caught my eye. Great presentation and a wonderful gift for one lucky person. Thanks so much for the draw. I’m in the USA

I’d love to try one of the Eris Parfums. I #shopsmall because it’s small businesses, like Perfumology, that are really the engine of our economy! I’d love to see Perfumology carry Dedcool. (I’m in the US and registered.) Thanks so much for the chance to win!

  • OMG… I’VE BEEN TO THE ONE IN KING OF PRUSSIA BEFORE. I LOVE IN PHILADELPHIA. SUCH AN AMAZING AMAZING STORE WITH BEAUTIFUL INDIE FRAGS! THE FRAGS THAT CAUGHT MY EYE AT PERFUMOLOGY WERE THERE ZOOLOGIST FRAGRANCES, BECAUSE I’VE JUST STARTED TO APPRECIATE VICTOR WONG’S COVETED LINE. IF I WON THIS CARD, I WOULD DEFINITELY OUT IT TOWARDS THE NEW ZOOLOGIST, CANCEL! I LOVE TO #SHOPSMALL BECAUSE I THINK YOU GET SUCH A BETTER RELATIONSHIP WITH THE PEOPLE SELLING THE PRODUCT AND THAT INTIMACY IS INNATELY ATTACHED TO THAT PRODUCT.. IF THERE IS ONE FRAGRANCE LINE I WOULD LOVE TO SEE PERFUMOLOGY CARRY, IT WOULD HAVE TO BE THE HOUSE OF J.F. SCHWARZLOSE . Thank you for the opportunity. I actually look forward to checking out PERFUMOLOGY again really really soon!

  • Anything I could buy with a gift card from this draw to use at PERFUMOLOGY would be welcome. Thanks Nir. US

Generous! I shopsmall because small businesses have so much more character. Small business owners are brave as well! It takes so much to run your own business.

Perfumology carries some wonderful brands, and some I haven’t heard of before! Mancera Lemon Line and Zoologist Macaque stand out to me at this very moment…

Thank you for this special draw! I’m in the USA. Wish I lived closer so I could visit in person!

  • Love this article!
Nir carries so many great lines, Parfum Dusita and Eight & Bob are two of my faves.
Will definitely check out the Belle Fleur candles and I adore Blyss.
Love shopping small, there so many unique and wonderful products that small shops have.
Thank you for the generous giveaway, I live in the U.S.

  • I am definitely interested in Bat. And Blues sounds lovely. I’m only about an hour away from K of P. Can’t wait to check it out!!

  • I try to shop locally and “small” as much as possible. If I won I would purchase a bottle of Blyss as it sounds amazing. I reside in the USA.

  • If I were to win this prize I’d buy something from the Gallivant line. A house I first read about on these pages. 🙂 USA

  • I’d love to try one of the Eris Parfums, especially Ma Bate, Parfum Dusita (read so many good reviews but especially from bloggers).
If I were to win this prize I’d buy something from Nasomatto.
    USA, DE

  • Thanks for the giveaway. I like helping out small businesses more than major retail stores. I think you’ll have a better experience. I would probably go with something from Parfums Dusita, Gallivant or Nasomatto. USA Thanks

I used to live a mere 10 miles from kop! So sad this only opened after I left. Boston could certainly use a niche place like this, as nice as Barney’s and Saks are. If I got this gift certificate it would definitely go towards either a zoologist scent or dusita’s issara! I prefer to shop local and small when possible just to support small business, but I also find small specialty stores like these understand what true fragrance fans want and need in terms of service and product! Thanks for the draw. I’m in the US.

  • Blyss sounds wonderful, and if I didn’t already have a small bottle of the amazing Zoologist Bat, I’d probably go straight for that. But Parfums Dusita has long interested me, yet I’ve never sniffed a one! That might be where I’d spend my money. I love Small Business Saturday, and try to shop local when possible. Today my husband and I bought a fabulous coffee burr grinder from a local business, and the results tasted as good as the purchase made us feel! I live in the U.S.

  • Another terrific perfume shop is always a delight to learn about, and if I weren’t devoted to the rich offerings of Portland’s local small businesses I would probably look towards Perfumology for my perfumista needs. Shop small and shop local when you can.

I have been hearing great hullabaloo about Bat and have enjoyed others in the Zoologist line, so it would be bats for the holidays for me. I’m in the USA, happy holidays!

  • What a gorgeous store. Nice to see more niche stores opening. I don’t even try the new samplings at the department store unless I happen to be at a Nordstrom or Macy’s for other shopping. I would most like to try the Gallivant line to travel the world through fragrance even if I could only go to PA. Thanks for the draw! Happy Scented Holidays to all.

  • If I were to win, I’d purchase a zoologist fragrance. Next time I’m in the area (I live about 2hours away) I will definitely check out this store! I’m so glad I read this article.

  • This looks like such a welcoming and well-curated store! Small businesses make my town feel like a community, and I think they are very humanizing since no one is anonymous. Glad it is online too though because that is a bit of a hike.

That review of Blyss makes it sound very appealing, and I am not a fruity-floral kinda gal…And the background of it is so sweet.
Dusita is a name that I recognized from my ‘Intriguing…’ list so I might check them out if I won. I know it is not so practical but I wish there were samples for sale as well…

    thanks for the draw!

  • I avoid big crowded stores and shop small whenever possible! The individual attention and the atmosphere of smaller retail make shopping a lot more fun for me. Nir carries so many of my favorites that it is hard to chose. Thank you for the draw. I am in the US.
