Thomas de Monaco Grand Beau (Maurus Bachmann): If you are in the mood for something on the opposite spectrum of any floral composition we so often regard as a classic wedding genre,  Grand Beau is exquisitely blended by Maurus Bachmann, might be for you. The green sharpness of pine needles whips you with a gust of fresh wind while the salty sea breeze softens the entire encounter with its musky warmth. A caress of creamy driftwood lingering in the base completes the olfactory landscape.     What I like the most about Rahele according to Olya`s review is its ability to balance sensuality and restraint. The description of this fragrance as “humidly verdant and unapologetically sensual” sounds beautiful and I think it really captures the essence of its character.     I find myself very fond of all three of your selections.
    I have many upcoming weddings this Summer and I would love to wear any three of these as a guest to these formal occasions!
    With Matière Première Parfums Néroli Oranger, I feel that the notes of bergamot, neroli and orange blossom are very crowd pleasing and unoffensive, so going to weddings with a high volume of attendees, I feel like this would be a very safe bet to wear.
    With Thomas de Monaco Grand Beau I love how the blend of aromatic herbs and woods can be ideal for cold season weddings or warm ones as you stated the notes can be versatile as cooling on warm ones and warming for cold. This sounds beautiful and elegant.
    With Neela Vermeire Rahele, I would really love to win this fragrance as I foresee myself feeling very confident wearing it.
    Not only is the aesthetic of the bottle gorgeous but what that vessel holds seems to really match its stunning presentation.
    With upcoming weddings I’m attending in the hot Mid-Western Summers, much of them being outdoors, I do really love that you said this fragrance is humidity verdant.     Thx for the trio Olya. A memorable wedding scent is one that eludes me as I never had a traditional wedding and any I go to I end up too drunk to appreciate the scents around me. Although at last wedding I chose Xerjoff Uden and loved it. Anyway the house of Neela Vermeire is new to me but there are some gems by Bertrand Duchaufour I love.

    I like all the choices but since I am a big Duchaufour fan and Mohur I am happy to see Rahele the traveler and Neroli Oranger since I own radical rose and also love Aurelien Guichard’s Matiere Premiere

    Three show-stoppers featured here today. I often see people ask what scents are best for a wedding and now I have an article to point them to. Though all three sound amazing, I think Rahele and Grand Beau would best suit me. Rahele is particularly tantalizing. I love Olya’s description of it as a travelogue of a fragrance. After all, the power of scent to transport us is my favorite part of the experience.     I want to win Neela Vermiere “Rahele” for multiple reasons, e.g. Bertrand Duchaufour might be my favorite perfumer, and I was recently thinking that I should add more fragrances to my collection which were made by him. For a while now, I’ve been wanting to try something from Matière Première Parfums and Olya’s review caused me to add “Néroli Oranger” to the ones I’d like to try.     I like the idea of genderless perfume for weddings, particularly if the two getting married (bride, groom or any combination of the two) wear the same scent. All three selections seem lovely, Rahele sounds memorable with notes of osmanthus and leather. I’m in the US.

    I liked how the three couldn’t be more different to one another: a luscious, fruity osmanthus, a breezy woody pine and lastly, the classic bridal orange blossom. I personally think they all sound charming, nuptial or not.
    Rahele got me at “osmanthus”: it’s a note that I love and I would like to see it more in perfumery. It somehow seems proportionally underrated and underused in comparison to other flowers, even though its aroma is mesmerizing. I always love discovering a new osmanthus!

    I own Neela Vermeire sample set, and I ordered the two extra fragrance samples not included the set , Mohur Extrait and Niral from Luckyscent . I still need to get my hands on Nemus, Thyina and especially Purpureum.
    Rehele is like Olya mentioned suitable for weddings with juicy apricot, little bit of rose , and to me with lots of cardamom too.
    ☆ Olya’s take on Thomas De Monaco Grand Beau made me think of making Gin & Tonic Cake ,while on Mediterranean wedding vacation/trip . I made exactly 9 such wedding cakes last 3 weeks , it’s delicious, light, with layers of lime sponge, buttercream, gin and tonic drizzled,and decorated with edible floral petals and lime slices.
    ☆ Matière Premiere Neroli Oranger
    I have the pleasure of owning Encens Suave, it smells like I’m eating Tiramisù , with burning incense cons next to me.
    Neroli Oranger is like Orange Blossom Cake and bergamot juice in the Summer, Pastry Chef can’t stay still…

Neela Vermeire Rahele as Rahele stands for traveler the notes well blended creating a velvety bouquet of florals and apricot and is unisex. Thomas de Monaco Grand Beau opposite to a floral bloom fragrance to a dry martinis with aromatic herbs and sea notes.     Thanks for your article Olya! As a convinced bachelor, weddings make me a bit lazy and bored, but I can understand the excitement of the newlyweds. Here in Spain, where we have a lot of orange blossom, the typical wedding flowers are the rose, the peony, the cala lillys. I find interesting the idea of the genderless perfumes for this day. Should bride and broom wear the same scent?!. Neela Vermeire Rahele by the More than Great Mr. Duchaufour (I would love to have all the perfumes he created) interprets India with french eyes, so the scent is an explosion of colors, spices, and flowers.The main note (that I love, another reason to win this scent) for Rahele is a fabulous “texturized velvety “osmanthus. I want to make this travel that Neela propose!. Thomas de Monaco Grand Beau is one of the best marriage possible to my nose: Pine needles and salty sea breeze. Mr. Guichard in Matière Première Néroli Oranger did one of the best neroli-orange blossom focused compositions and he is an expert on this flower: he did Sole di Positano for Tom Ford and Neroli Eau Ambree for Narciso Rodriguez.     I enjoyed reading Olya’s choices, especially since I have many weddings to attend in the near future. I particularly found Matiere Premiere Parfum’s Neroli Oranger intriguing, with its combination of neroli, bergamot and ylang-ylang.

    I would like to experience Neela Vermeire’s Rahele because I enjoy the scents of apricots, magnolias, and roses individually, but I have never tried them together! I also liked Olya’s line that the fragrance is “unapologetically sensual, yet with a restrained character at its core.”

    Can’t say I adore weddings like Olya, but i don’t hate them either. I should’ve been a new path i agree, but when I think of it, from the…I don’t count maybe around 20 weddings i went to last 5 years, most are already divorced. Marriages do last a lot longer in Spain, compared to US.
    Neela Vermeire Rahele
    One of Neela Vermeire fragrances is in my possession, it’s called Trayee . I sampled it because of Ermano Picco Cafleurebon review, and decided to buy a bottle.
    Weddings, champagne friends and family, jazz music, osmanthus, rose and cardamom , and lots of positive emotions are all part of the festive sensation coming from Rahele.

    I’m convinced the fragrance is right up my alley, it’s sophisticated and relaxing fragrance, with juniper berries, incense and pine.
    Matière Premiere Neroli Oranger
    I enjoy wearing smooth , citrus smoothie fragrances all year round, not just in the wedding season. Aurélien Guichard i know for Gucci Intense Oud. Unfortunately I’m not familiar with Matiere Premiere fragrances
    I’m always looking for special fragrances, Rahele would be my high-end romantic , and soothing wedding choice.

    I had no idea that orange flowers represent good fortune, that’s good to know :).
    All 3 fragrances sound amazing, and also quite different in what I imagine them to be – bold, serene and joyous.
    I’d like to win Rahele mainly because I have never tested a Neela’s creation so far, i love Duchaufour, and I no longer plan a marriage to mark the occasion for it 🙂

    Thank you Olya for your ideas on wedding perfumes. It was nice to see such different note structures for each fragrance. There is no “one” perfect wedding fragrance. The perfect one is the one you choose to represent you on that special day. Like you said, it’s a scent anchor.

    Rahele interests me because of the osmanthus note. I’ve always considered osmanthus unique with its leathery facets. I can never stop looking for changes when I wear a fragrance with osmanthus. I find it

    It was fun to read Olya’s choices of wedding fragrances. I like that Grand Beau goes against the grain of what we might think when we consider a traditional wedding fragrance. Neroli Oranger made me think of a tropical setting for a wedding, and, of course, the honeymoon. I would like to win Rahele because I love fragrances that are a sort of travelogue. Also, I have tried Bombay Bling from Neela Vermeire Creations, and loved the journey to Bombay I took while wearing it.

    A house I have no experience with. I remember Michael Devine once told us the owner is not just a businessman, but also a talented photographer and music lover, true artist .
    I think Grand Beau is definitely scent for people with adventurous spirit, and according to Olya a true opus of a fragrance.

    From Matiere Premiere i only have experience with Oud Seven , non linear fragrance , the whole metamorphosis animalic oud , to comforting resins , vetiver and tobacco is both aggressive, and appealing at the same time. I own a bottle. Neroli Oranger i like because of the different approach to a fresh fragrance , more energetic and fun with whipped cream effect.
    Neela Vermeire Rahele is the fragrance i’d like to win the most

    Fragrance is one element of a wedding ensemble that I haven’t considered in the past. It’s an interesting theme; what makes a perfume match the occasion’s formality, be welcome for recurring wears, and feel on theme? Of the three suggested here, the beautiful Neela Vermeire Rahele feels the most traditionally matrimonial (as does that exceptional bottle) and I’d love to gift it to my wife. Thomas de Monaco Grand Beau sounds more like my type of daily wear. It’s aromatic, herbal qualities sound bracing and invigorating.

    Interestingly enough, I know all 3 brands , and 2 out of 3 fragrances suggested by Ms Bar. I’m a jeweler, and the so called bridal season means a lot of work, and lately crazy requests from some gentleman looking to impress the bride with a special ring.
    Neela Vermeire Creations i discovered on Cafleurebon, and even went to their boutique at 11bis Rue d’Édimbourg, 75008 Paris , where I bought Niral . I agree with Ms Bar Rahele is true Summer romance turned into scent , fruity sweet fragrance, with rose and leather is i remember correctly. It’s also quite powerful.
    I’m so glad learned about Thomas De Monaco on Cafleurebon . After a friend of mine from Switzerland sent me a sample, I know now that Raw Gold fully deserves its own name , shockingly good fragrance , with leather, coffee, liquor with certain level of maturity.
    Grand Beau feels more peaceful, yet keeps the adventurous and raw Thomas De Monaco spirit alive , this time coming from the ocean , with the help of incense , and pine.
    Matière Premiere level of growth is remarkable, from a relatively new brand , to dozens points of sale all over the world , job well done .In Paris you can find them at Printemps and even at Galeries Lafayette Champs-Elysées .
    Neroli Oranger is linear , perfect for the Summer fragrance , and the quality is awesome. I like how the fruits are sharp, and do last. I don’t remember the whipped cream effect Ms Bar told us about.
    All 3 fragrances recommend by Ms Bar are great , still Neela Vermeire Creations Rahele I’d like to win the most.

    Stop the presses – Bertrand Duchaufour! Spices from India “gathered by corset of Parisian restraint!” Dying! Out of the three, these beautiful notes, especially apricot, appeal to me, ahem, in an insane way. Beautiful reviews, but the Neela Vermeire Creations Rahele is singing the loudest siren song. I live in NY.

    I had the blast of meeting Neela Vermeire at Esxence 2018 , such a warm and genuine woman. Out of the whole Neela Vermeire portfolio, including the new Fragments by NVC line, i believe Rahele has the most “French restraint” . On my skin the osmanthus goes in both fruity peachy/apricot, and leathery territory with some sensual rose , a bit of iris , and hefty dose of cardamom.

    Quite a departure from Eau Coeur, and my favorite Raw Gold , Grand Beau wears… kind of cold to me , apparently it has warmth to Olya , but not to me. Wedding by the sea somewhere in Scandinavia is what came to my mind.

    Invigorating , and long lasting mostly warm weather neroli fragrance . It could be a hidden note , or it’s my body chemistry, but I also perceive fresh , slightly peppery rose in Neroli Oranger .

    Taking into consideration all the good things that I read about Neela Vermeire during the years , i believe she’s one of a kind person. I don’t know Rahele however I LOVE Bombay Bling, and original Mohur, and I’m pumped for Fragments by NVC line .
    Sensory explosion with spices , ripe apricot and rose ,Rahele checks all the boxes for a special wedding fragrance.
    Grand Beau from Tomas de Monaco reminded me of the times when grandma used to love bringing me with to her regular , early morning walkings on the beach, and enjoying the Sunrise together.Unpolished and unique , like a tropical beach , with lots of stories to tell
    Matière Premiere Neroli Oranger is zesty and luminous , full of energy fragrance, made by the talented Aurélien Guichard
    I’d like to win Rahele because of my love for Bombay Bling, and original Mohur, and half Indian, half French parallel Olya made.

    I still can’t believe Thomas De Monaco is renowned brand owner now , and his fragrances are making a big deal buzz in the fragrance community.
    I actually not just met him , but worked with him on a photo session/advertisement campaign for a major…..liquor brand . I was representative of the liquor brand back then.
    Cruise ship vacation, sitting on a deck chair, dry gin martini = Grand Beau

    Encens Suave I’ve smelled , high end gourmand with leather. What I find interesting in Neroli Oranger is the natural smell , and the lively characteristics with less soapy, and more citrus smoothie smell. The addictive whipped cream effect is always welcomed. No doubt Neroli Oranger is more versatile , compared to Encens Suave.
    The love , appreciation, beauty and hope for the future are all present in Rahele, if it was my wedding it’s would be my scent of the special day.

    I love the Wedding Fragrance choices Olya chose. All three are genderless as well as light and refreshing making them perfect for the warmer weather of the upcoming wedding season. I have personally tried Matiere Premiere Parfums Neroli Oranger which is bright, effervescent and smells fantastic. I would love to try Neela Vermeire Rahele because Olya describes it as a sweet osmanthus smelling of ripe apricot contrasting with the greenness of Magnolia and the freshness of complimenting florals sounds truly divine. I am from the USA.
