Maison Crivelli Patchouli Magnetik Review (Quentin Bisch) 2022+ an electric giveaway

Maison Crivelli Patchouli Magnetik

Maison Crivelli Patchouli Magnetik courtesy of the brand

Maison Crivelli Patchouli Magnetik is once again inspired by a personal experience of Creative Director Thibaud Crivelli. When I learned that award winning Givaudan Perfumer Quentin Bisch signed Maison Crivelli Patchouli Magnetik, his second for the brand (Hibiscus Mahajad) I emailed him immediately. He’s one of my favorite perfumers, and you may recognize his work for commercial, luxury and niche houses such as five for Etat Libre D’Orange  including Hermann à mes côtés me paraissait une ombre MUGLER Angel Muse,  Ex Nihilo Fleur Narcotique, Cuir Celeste, French Affair and Venenum Kiss, Azzaro Wanted by Night, Marc Antoine Barrois B683, Ganymede and B683 Extrait,  Parfums de Marly Delina (all three and Carlysle), Essential Parfums Bois Imperial, and four from the recent L’Artisan Parfumeur Le Potager series  to name just a few of the brands he has collaborated with.  For me, it is always important to understand the creator’s point of view when interpreting a brief. I wanted a perfume of huge contrast. In this precise Thibaud’s memory (ride into a field of patchouli, the jungle, the storm) I pictured straight away clear opposites gathered together: deep green of the nature under the rain, black soils, grey blue dark sky. And the counterpoints, bright: a thunder crossing all the sky, a single flower of gardenia like a pure and luminous white surprising encounter… It must feel electric. It is an electric patchouli on a bed of creamy white gardenia, vanilla and sandalwood. Key point: an ozonic electric accord creates with patchouli the ultimate tension in the perfume”.Quentin Bisch

I primarily enjoyed how Steven made the scent sound realistic and familiar to scents we may know all ready so we could get the idea of the smell. He described it as a BOLD smell for a special occasion that made me believe this scent is truly special and with a 2 hours projection it sounds to be amazing. I personally enjoy winter scents.

  • I enjoyed learning about the inspiration behind Patchouli Magnetik and Maison Crivelli from Steven’s video as well as the other fragrances he compared this to. I also liked that Michelyn noted a number of Quentin Bisch’s other perfumes and how much she appreciates his work. It was great reading directly from the perfumer, in this case Quentin Bisch, how he interpreted the brief and what he wanted to evoke with Patchouli Magnetik. The ozonic electric accord contrasting with the patchouli sounds really interesting as does the entire concept and note breakdown. I do enjoy a number of fragrances featuring patchouli. Thanks for the generous draw, from CT USA.

  • LATONYA GIPSON-BOWMAN says:

I really enjoyed how Steven describes the notes in this fragrance. The mention of Chocolate and Patchouli sounds very interesting.

  • punchflower says:

Oh wow! This fragrance sounds amazing! I love the slightly difference between Quentin’s description of the electricity of a storm, and Steven’s review which emphasized more the patchouli and dark chocolate earthiness. I wonder how it would develop on my skin. Also I’m a little hippie at heart. ♥️✌️ From US.

  • I love Quentin Bisch! I own Delina Exclusif, Ganymede and have had my eye on Hibiscus Majahad.
Thank you Mr Bisch for sharing your story and great video by Steven.

  • As soon as Steven said “chocolaty patchouli” I was sold. Along with Quentin Bisch calling it an “electric patchouli” and how it creates a feel, makes this one sound enjoyable. Thank you Quentin Bisch for taking the time to describe this fragrance.

  • Maison Crivelli Patchouli Magnetik emphasize chocolatey aspects of patchouli and has creamy side of sandalwood. It also seems to have both impressive longevity and projection. It’s always great when the perfumer gives time to explain the fragrance as Quentin Bisch did here. He has been quite busy and I wont be surprised if Quentin becomes the head perfumer of a major design house in the future. I am in US.

  • Steven’s review made me want to try Maison Crivelli Patchouli. Love how he said it’s a bold smell for a special occasion. The patchouli and chocolate. Thank you for this Chance USA

  • From Michelyn’s portion. I was glad to see all the previous creations by this perfumer. From the video I enjoyed the verbal description of the notes. US

  • Hello. Steven always covers everything you need to know. I like the packaging breakdown all the way to how he describes the scent. This article gives the background for the scent that always makes it special whenever you smell this aroma. Patchouli is ok, I didn’t like it at first but I’m starting to come around to it as my sense of smells starts to mature. Quentin Bisch is fast becoming one of my favorite perfumers. I wasn’t aware at the time but some of my favorite fragrances were created by him, so I’m always enthusiastic to try whatever new creation he comes up with.

  • GennyLeigh says:

I appreciate Quentin Bisch’s desire to create a fragrance of huge contrasts; the green of the jungle and the gray-black of stormy skies. Gardenia and patchouli with a jolt of an electric ozonic accord certainly fits the bill, I love how Steve describes the notes in detail and how they unfold. I love patchouli fragrances! MD, USA.

  • Thank you Quentin Bisch for your thoughts and your creativity. I enjoy many of your fragrances, as listed by Michelyn. I do enjoy a chocolate patchouli fragrance. I enjoyed the description by Quentin of “nature under the rain, black soils, grey blue dark sky.” Steven’s review mentioned it as being unique and bold. I’m intrigued. Thanks for another awesome review and draw. Mich USA

  • It’s so hard to find good patchouli fragrances!!! I think Patchouli Magnetik sounds amazing!!!! I love all the notea in this fragrance, vanilla, sandalwood and gardenia!!! Thank you Quentin Bisch for taking the time to describe this perfume!!! I’m from Massachusetts, USA.

  • He does great job of breaking down the notes/accords of scents so you really get a sense of how the scent will actually wear and the story/inspo is always interesting to learn about with scents.

  • Sunny Zecevic says:

Wow! this sounds super interesting. I’m really curios to know how it actually smells. descriptions can only go so far unfortunately.

  • computerdial_40 says:

I like the way that Steven describes the Fragrance in relation to other Patchouli based scents and where this type of scent might be appropriate.

  • Thank you Quentin Bisch for your time in sharing your approach to creating this fragrance. I enjoyed that Michelyn included a long and interesting list of perfumes previously created by Quentin. As always, Steven’s video review was excellent for his description of the scents he experienced. I rarely enter the giveaways, but this is a fragrance that really sounds great to me (I’m especially obsessed with patchouli at the moment), so thanks for the opportunity!

  • brenna_perfumes says:

Bish’s talent as a perfumer never ceases to amaze me. His creativity truly shines when he works with houses like Etat Libre D’Orange – I wear ELDO’s La Fin Du Monde nearly every day at this point, with Hermann a mes Cotes being another favorite – and his compositions are the only one’s I have EVER liked rose in. I have been coveting the last drop of my 2 ml sample of Hibiscus Majáhad until I can pick up a full bottle, so I am beyond eager to try any and everything else he’s composed for Maison Crivelli. The fact that it’s a Patchouli scent doubly excites me, as I have recently had such a journey with this note. I used to hate it outright. but after pushing myself to experiences the nuances of the note, I’ve found that I actually really enjoy a rich, chocolatey patchouli, which is what I’m hoping for with this fragrance. Even if I don’t win the giveaway, I’m sure I will pick up a sample of Patchouli Magnetik, it sounds absolutely divine. So thank you, Quinten Bish, for being a shining star in the fragrance industry, and thank you to CaFleureBon for hosting this generous giveaway!

  • I absolutely love patchouli fragrances. Infact, the entire note breakdown sounds very alluring. I can’t wait to get my nose on it. Quentin Bisch, thank you for your time and dedication to the craft and for what seems like yet another extraordinary fragrance. It sounds like a dynamic, captivating fragrance that you can fully immersed yourself in.

  • I am a of the Maison Crivelli line, I already own two of their perfumes and excited to hear about this new fragrance. My favourite part was definitely the way that Quentin described it; thunderstorms do not frighten me (haha). So the idea of an electric patchouli is very unique! Not to mention that in Quentin’s video, when he brought up the TF’s noir de noir, I was just sold on this perfume. I love that it seems to have a touch of floral in it as well. Honestly, great article and video. Thank you Mr.Bisch for an opportunity to own to this perfume!

  • I enjoyed learning about the inspiration behind Patchouli Magnetik and Maison Crivelli by Michelyn and Steven !I love Quentin Bisch’s creations too.
The ozonic electric note contrasting with the patchouli sounds very unique and interesting.
Unfortunately, I am not familiar with Maison Crivelli perfumes.

  • Stevens video review eloquently describes his opinions of this “bold” patchouli offering. I especially enjoyed his explanation behind the facets of patchouli and the undertones of amber and benzoin. Michelyn’s intro helped set the stage for the offering by mentioning Bisch’s other masterpieces, which helps the reader appreciate the success and credibility of the perfumer. And I especially enjoyed learning about the inspiration of the fragrance and how Bisch made it come to life. I can’t wait to explore the entire line.

  • As always Steven’s review was very thorough. According to Steven this is a very unique Patchouli fragrance that should be worn during very specific occasions. Steven’s review and Michelyn’s introduction make this fragrance sound like one that I need to try asap. I will love to experience more patchouli fragrances.

  • Jake Dauod says:

I was so excited when I saw the title because I love patchouli. I think that Quentin Bisch is so talented, which is why I really enjoyed Michelyn’s piece in the intro. I love reminiscing about the catalog’s of perfumer’s, and I enjoyed recounting all of the gorgeous perfumes that Bisch has been a part of. As for Steven’s review, I really enjoyed that he touched on the amber quality. I am so excited about this perfume. Two of my absolute favorite notes, and I would love to get my nose on this one. Kind regards from Indiana, USA.

  • I LOVE patchouli fragrances! And I happen to love so many of the creations of this perfumer! I very much enjoyed Steven’s review. Chocolate and Patchouli? Yes, please! He always makes me want to buy whatever he’s reviewing!
    I live in the USA.

  • I love patchouli fragrances (especially chocolate-y ones)…and this one sounds fabulous. The peach and white floral elements of this one also intrigue me. Steven’s emphasis on how unusual and long-lasting this one is helped drag me in. And I’m delighted to thank Quentin Bisch for taking the time to describe how he conceived of this fragrance. I love perfumes built around contrasting elements. All of these things make me want to give this one a try. I’m in Oklahoma, USA…and I’m also a Redolessence subscriber. Thanks, as always, for the generous draw!

  • Abhishek Shrivastava says:

I do like how Steven described the fragrance. It seemed one is actually getting a whiff of the notes as he reads through the description alone. And I can add with absolute certainty, that after finishing the article one would want nothing but to grab a bottle of his personal favorite fragrance and immerse himself/herself in its scent so as to just hide his disappointment of not having Patchouli Magnetik to experience.

  • I love patchouli and would love to see how chocolate mingles with the scent. I’m really excited!

    From USA.

  • I like how the video compares this to other similar fragrances so it’s easier to understand what’s being described. I am very intrigued with trying this fragrance house. I also didn’t know about all of Quentin’s creations. He has a quite the resume! Thanks for the vivid description of your creation Quentin!

  • I am a Redolessence subscriber and enjoy Steven’s videos. Michelyn’s introduction was a very good introduction to Quentin as a perfumer. Thank you Quentin Bisch for describing the contrasts in Maison Crivelli Patchouli Magnetik by invoking the rain, dark clouds, greenery, and the black soils against the bright thunder and luminous gardenia. Dark earthy patchouli contrasted beautifully with gardenia and vanilla and sandalwood in a way that makes clear what Maison Crivelli Patchouli Magnetik is like. And then Steven added his clear description as always in the video. Thanks for the review and Michelyn’s introduction and the quote by Quentin Bisch. From USA.

  • Perfume_Madness says:

Quentin Bisch is an amazing perfumer and Steven is someone I trust for fragrance reviews!

  • Maison Crivelli I do not know yet, but Quentin Bisch of course I do. Just like him, I must feel electric when I’m working, but I love my job, so such feeling in common to me ,when I’m at my bakery.
Steven take on Patchouli Magnetik , and Michelyn interview reminded me of a wedding I attended back in 2019 in Hanauma Bay in Oahu Hawaii. I was not just a guest, but responsible for the menu, and the Chocolate and Peach Beach Themed Wedding Cake. I believe i did great.
At one point it started pouring, and the whole thing reminded me of Patchouli Magnetik .
Appreciate Steven’s review, Michelyn interview with Quentin Bisch , and the giveaway campaign

  • Maison Crivelli Patchouli Magnetik sounds fantastic. Patchouli is a favorite note of mine within the world of perfumery. When Steven spoke about this being a bold fragrance, one for special occasions, and one featuring chocolatey nuances my interest peaked for sure. Then, when Quentin Bisch spoke of the duality of the fragrance and how it had such contrasting elements I certainly began to understand how special this fragrance seems to be. Needless to say, I would love to get my nose on this one! Thanks, as always, to CaFleureBon and especially to Quentin Bisch for not only his time but for all of his phenomenal creations over the years! Cheers from Illinois, USA!

  • Michelyn’s introduction made me realize that I need to start paying more attention to the name of the perfumer. Who does what isn’t something I’ve really looked at before, but her list of Quentin Bisch’s fragrances made me go WOW!. And Steven’s review was very informative. I love that it is unique, the touch of gardenia, that it is for special occasions and someone older. I am ambivalent about patchouli fragrances. Sometimes I love them, and other times they are a big no. But, the ones I love, I LOVE. I am in the US.

  • IvanVelikov says:

Quentin Bisch I like for Etat Libre d’Orange, Experimentum Crucis. I had to smell, the reason was Despina glorifying it. It well exceeded my expectations , and now i have it. Suits me well, and it’s super powerful .
I love the smell of patchouli, vanilla and creamy sandalwood , and powerful fragrances you can say i’m naturally drawn to Maison Crivelli Patchouli Magnetik . Unusual and refined scent, with interesting story behind. I need to try it as soon as possible.
I’m truly moved by the Patchouli Magnetik interview , and review collaboration
Thank you Michelyn, Steven and , and Maison Crivelli

  • I enjoy patchouli a lot and it’s one of my favorite ingredients used in perfumery. I enjoy the different varieties of patchouli scents, including the chocolate-like patchouli scent, and this fragrance seems to have it. I like another fragrance which includes the chocolate-like patchouli scent and it is V Canto’s “Mea Culpa”. Steven’s video review and the intro. all give useful insight into this fragrance. I live in the U.S.A.

  • Very nice review by Steven and great introduction by Michelyn .
What I like the most about this fragrance is the twist with earthy notes and patchouli. I find it really unique. I love Patchouli fragrances like Noir de Noir.
I would use this one on very special ocassions.
    I live in the USA.

  • You honestly can’t go wrong with Stevens review because he does a remarkable job is all his reviews. Thank You Quentin Bisch for your time and creations! Steven explains Patchouli Magnetik were you can almost picture I your mind the smell. I am definitely a patchouli frag lover but its not the openings I like its the far dry down.
    Thanks for the giveaway.one love.

Thanks for the fantastic review Steven!

I love patchouli fragrances and I love how Steven says this is a high strength, hippy, chocolatey patchouli with a creamy sandalwood/amber sweetness. Fascinating how this was inspired by a motorcycle ride through a patchouli field. Steven got a chuckle out of me by talking about symphony vs cacophony.

I also appreciated Michelyn’s comment about understanding the creators point of view and Quentins writeup about the electric ozonic accord. Much thanks to Quentin for taking the time to write in his comment.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • Michael Prince says:

I loved Michelyn’s intro about Master Perfumer Quentin Bisch where you really get a feeling of how incredibly talented, experienced, and accomplished Quentin is. With so many great fragrances in his resume Patchouli Magnetik has to be amazing as well. Steven has once again brilliantly reviewed Patchouli Magnetik in elaborate detail the deep rich and chocolately variety of patchouli mixing with a deep and rich resinous and vanillic amber and creamy sandalwood. I am a huge fan of patchouli fragrances and would love to try this one. I am from Ohio, USA.

  • I’m a fan of Quentin Bisch, and I know and own quite a few of his fragrances, both designer , and niche.
I have to say I’m now owner of Hibiscus Mahajad, Olya Bar review was so striking, I had no choice but to buy a sample. Expressive and smooth, with high compliment factor fragrance, Hibiscus Mahajad is like no other .
Patchouli Magnetik is original, slightly sweet, slightly green, woody and earthy . Just Wow at the addition of leather…
Like in the interview , let’s see if the thunder will cross the sky when I smell it, I do believe it would . I love patchouli fragrances
    Overly exciting giveaway, USA

” For me, it is always important to understand the creator’s point of view when interpreting a brief. Quentin graciously shares an inside look Maison Crivelli Patchouli Magnetik extrait de parfum–Michelyn Camen, Editor-in Chief”

I 100% agree with Michelyn statement. Quentin Bisch interview was such a nice idea
He added a few details Steven never mentioned, the ozonic, earthy and electric elements of Patchouli Magnetik.
Thanks to both Quentin Bisch and Michelyn for the interview
By the way Thibaud Crivelli is one of his current interviews said that all future Maison Crivelli Extraits would be made by Quentin Bisch only , and also that the next Extrait would be based on Amber
My opinion of Patchouli Magnetik is slightly different from what Steven is getting. Like Quentin Bisch said in the interview, there’s something metallic, and almost petrichor-ish , and other than gardenia , I get tropical flowers lurking in the background, either tiare or frangipani.
I like powerful fragrances , and Patchouli Magnetik is loud !!!
If I have to rate my favorite Maison Crivelli fragrances:
    1. Hibiscus Mahajád
    2. Lys Sølaberg / Patchouli Magnetik
    3. Iris Malikhân

Fantastic new brand I have to say, with special and hard to describe iris fragrances. All of their scents do go through a lot of phases , and you never know what to expect.
    Just followed @lajeteeorlando , all other profiles I already follow , @waltherp99bg

Michelyn, I was unaware of Quentin Bisch’s incredible resume. Thanks for enlightening me! I am only familiar with his work concerning Parfums de Marly & Mugler, but I have heard of many of the perfumes you have listed. I am unfamiliar with Etat Libre D’Orange–I will be sure to check out this house.

Patchouli is my favorite aroma in perfumery; I love its incredible versatility. I love the way Quentin describes his offering, and I am incredibly interested in experiencing this tension in notes first hand! Thank you Quentin Bisch for your narrative, but most importantly sharing your art with the world.

As always, a special thank you to Steven Gavrielatos for your daily videos and expertise. Thank you for being my favorite guide as I walk through this fragrance journey! I especially love the way that you broke down the various notes in this composition as they appeared through the entire wearing of the fragrance, from your perspective of course.

I honestly can’t wait to get my nose on Maison Crivelli Patchouli Magnetik

  • Admirations for Maison Crivelli , and Quentin Bisch for releasing Patchouli Magnetik , eye-opening novelty fragrance. Patchouli, lightnings, amber , rain , grey blue dark sky , vanilla … can you repeat that again please?
I like the whole thing , the fragrance, the inspiration, the unexpected mini interview, it’s almost like Patchouli Magnetik is coming from a Pablo Coelho book .
What also surprised me is how genuinely impressed Steven is, and the how strong the scent is.
I’d like to thank Quentin Bisch for sharing some moments, and telling us about how the fragrance was made.
    Thanks for the draw

Thank you Quentin Bisch for your words on the fragrance! It’s always interesting to hear what was going on in the mind of the perfumer. You’re one of my favorite perfumers!

I really enjoyed that Steven gave us a good look at the packaging. I really love aesthetics and I feel that most fragrance reviewers over look this part in their reviews!

    Sound of the drums
    Beating in my heart
When I read Quentin Bisch story how he made , inspired by a motorcycle ride into a patchouli field, during rainstorm, the ACDC song immediately came to mind.
I was already struck by one Maison Crivelli lightning called Iris Malikhân , when I sampled it together with Hibiscus Mahajad. I do admit the carcade is unique, but Iris Malikhân struck me so hard , I bought a bottle from Luckyscent. They do have a nice promo, when you buy full Maison Crivelli bottle, you get extra 5ml official Hibiscus Mahajad travel sprayer ($30) for free .
In Patchouli Magnetik i like how Quentin Bisch made one avant-garde patchouli, like no other, and also the comparison Steven made with Tom Ford Noir de Noir ,one of my top 3 all time favorite fragrances.
Thanks to Quentin Bisch, despite his busy schedule , for revealing the magic of Patchouli Magnetik to all Cafleurebon subscribers , to Steven, and to Michelyn for including the nose thoughts into the article. I love patchouli scents

  • I always enjoy Michelyn’s insights and that this is intended to be a study in contrast iss intersting. Steven’s impressions are helpful and Bisch’s work is amazing, I love patchouli!

  • sephrenia300 says:

Very interesting review Steven and Michelyn! What I enjoyed about Steven’s YouTube review is how thorough and meticulous he is, in not only delineating all the notes, but also describing how the notes interact with each other – like how he describes how the creamy smoothness of the sandalwood combines with the resinous balsamic amber to create a really well done infrastructure that together affords the fragrance incredibly longevity. I always appreciate how detailed and descriptive Steven is.

What I enjoyed about Michelyn and Quentin Bisch’s introduction was learning that the perfumer set out to create a fragrance of “huge contrast,” with the opposites attract principle of green nature under grey-blue sky and thunder combined with a single pure and luminous gardenia flower. I love fragrances with strong juxtapositions of notes and unlikely combinations, so this scent sounds right up my alley!

I am not usually a fan of patchouli fragrances, particularly gourmand ones, but I do enjoy a couple, especially patchouli-rose combos such as TRNPs Raven. I live in the US.

I am a fan of Quentin Bisch’s Ganymede. It is one of my favorites in my collection. Michelyn also mentioned a few fragrances that I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Quentin was the perfumer of (e.g., Angel Muse).
I also enjoyed Steven’s comprehensive review of this fragrance…chocolatey patchouli, gardenia, and an ozonic accord. This fragrance is calling my name.
