Steven Gavrielatos and Europerfumes Executive Marisa Auciello select the top 10 summer fragrances distributed by Europerfumes at their New Jersey office

Earlier this month Steven Gavrielatos and I went to visit Europerfumes, the USA distributor of some of the most coveted niche perfumes in the country. We toured the office, had an amazing sniffing session and discovered so many offerings from  their brands. Steven and Marisa Auciello, an executive with Europerfumes curated their Top 10 Summer fragrance that are sold by Europerfumes, (who sponsors so many CaFleureBon draws). Their Top Ten Summer Fragrances are described as fresh, aromatic, feature bergamot or use familiar materials in interesting new ways. – Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

Top10 Summer Fragrances from Europerfumes (in no particular order).

Abel Cyan Nori (Isaac Sinclair) was new to Steven It’s an all-natural perfume with nuances of tangerine and white peach. The lactonic qualities of the fruits combine with the saltiness of nori for an unforgettable summer experience. Abel Odor is a 100 PERCENT NATURAL house founded by Frances Schoemack and was a CaFleureBon’s winner for Best Natural Perfume House of 2018.

Memo Paris Sicilian Leather (Yann Vasnier) opens with lemon and bitter orange, which evolves into a smooth leather dry down accented by akigalawood and patchouli. The earthy facets of the perfume keep it smelling natural and unquestionably grounded to create a versatile experience.

Mancera Jardin Exclusif is a fruity floral fragrance with a bouquet of white peach, black currant, and green apple. A gourmand touch of caramel creates a sweet sensation before we arrive at the base, which contains white musk, sandalwood, and vanilla from Madagascar. This complex summer perfume is sure to keep you intrigued for many hours.

Etat Libre d’Orange You or Someone Like You (Caroline Sabas) aka YOSLY features a superb mint note. Citruses including  grapefruit and bergamot liven things up, and the base is pleasantly musky and refreshingly crisp. Like a refreshing Mojito cocktail, this fragrance is sure to take the edge off.

Amouage Reflection Man (Lucas Siuezac): Omani luxury; pink pepper and petit grain reside in the top of the perfume pyramid while jasmine and cedar greet us a bit later in the life of the perfume. Vetiver and patchouli in the base crate a resolute aroma that is sure to add many hours of longevity to this remarkable perfume.

MFK Aqua Universalis Cologne Forte, Vilhelm Parfumerie Basilica and Fellini, Casamorati Mefisto gentiluomo, Xerjoff Nio and Roja Parfums Elysium are best summer fragrances 2021

Roja Parfums Elysium, Maison Francis Kurkdjian Aqua Universalis Cologne Forte, Vilhelm Parfumerie Basilica and Fellini, Xerjoff Nio, Casamorati Mefisto Gentiluomo

Roja Parfums Elysium (Roja Dove): Fresh and exhilarating the jasmine flower in the heart of the perfume is pure and serene. Juniper adds an earthy touch while an abundance of citrus keeps the aroma bright and inviting.

Xerjoff Nio is one of the brightest and most realistic bergamot fragrances on the market. The organic quality of the perfume leaves us mesmerized and satiated. Clean vetiver prolongs the freshness in the base for a long-lasting experience.

Vilhelm Parfumerie Basililca & Fellini (Jerome Epinette) was new to Steve but is a ÇaFleureBon favorite. is a marriage of basil and fig. Its aromatic properties are gently enhanced by a grassy texture in the base that leaves the fragrance smelling natural and interesting.

Maison Francis Kurkdjian Aqua Universalis Cologne Forte (Francis Kurkdjian): Bergamot, musk, and sweet pea comprise this floral and citrus fragrance for a sensation that is even brighter than the original. The perfume maintains its cleanliness all the way through, and the musk in the base conveys the warmth of clean skin.

Xerjoff Casamorati Mefisto Gentiluomo is the follow-up to the abstract and masterful Mefisto. It is a breathtaking combination of iris, violet, and citrus. This sophisticated and refined fragrance is versatile and effervescent.

  • I love Roja Parfums and Elysium is one I would love to get. Roja just celebrated his 10th anniversary and I wish I could get something for his collection that hasn’t been used. So I hope I’m doing this right to enter the giveaway

  • Clint Harrington says:

I really love the video and the choices are really hard to make, but I will go with Elysium by Roja Dove.

  • I have smelled Reflection and it is, indeed, one of the most all-year wearable fragrances from Amouage as Marisa says. Marisa also mentions that Sicilian Leather from Memo is not a heavy leather composition and a great summer choice. My choice for this draw is Amouage Reflection and I am in US.

  • AleksCipri says:

Very interesting choice of fragrances.Marisa is so lovely and it’s obvious she knows perfumes were well. I knew all of the fragrances from before although I didn’t try all of them and I do not own any of them. The only perfume I didn’t know was the one they mentioned first, Abel – Cyan Nori. It sounds very interesting and I like the inspiration behind it – New Zelend coast line and a warm sunny day. I also like they are all natural brand and that from every purchase they pay for a meal for a child. All great things. Out of this list in case I win I would pick Amouage – Reflection Man. Out of the fragrances on Europerfum website I think one great summer addition that should be on this list is Carner Barcelona – Costarela. I’m from Illinois, US.

  • Brad Woolslayer says:

It’s nice to learn about new all natural fragrances, and I enjoyed learning about Abel Cyan Nori. I would love to check out a Roja Dove fragrance, so Elysium sounds like a nice one for the summer. I would like to have seen Mancera Cedrat Boise make the list, since it’s such a crowd pleasing fragrance with nice hints of black currant and leather. I live in Maryland USA.

  • Kelly O'Neal says:

I like how Steve had a girl in the shot. I learned I would rather buy Xerjoff Casamorati than Nio. I would like to win Roja Elysium. Thank you.

  • Although I really like xerjoff I did not know all the shooting star bottles come with a small piece of shooting star. I would be thrilled to win any of these, but Exspecially the xerjoff, Roja, memo, amouage, Vilhelm, any of them. In maryland. I would have like to see Jasmin et cigarette or vanilla vibes

  • Loved the video, have been interested in many of the mentioned fragrances. I liked the way they described YOSLY, which I recently sampled, as being a mojito-like fragrance. Awesome review. I live in Thousand Oaks, CA. Would love to win one of the following: Elysium, Nio, Mefisto Gentiluomo, YOSLY, or Aqua Universalis Forte Cologne.

  • zerofalcon says:

Something that I enjoyed in the video is the knowledge about jardin exclusif. One of my favorite fragrances as well. I would like to win etat libre d’orange someone like you or even jardin exclusif. I hope I win and thank you for the giveaway

  • I absolutely love how versatile this top 10 list is. Also learned about some brands I’m eager to discover! I love how Steven and Marisa always have something new for us to discover and put our noses on. Would DEFINATELY love to win a bottle of Reflection Man by Amouage or Elysium by Roja Dove. Also on europarfum.com/brands, would’ve loved to see Mancera Aoud Lemon Mint.
Actually Steven is the one who got me to start collecting fragrances, thank you so much for everything and blessings from MIAMI FL!!!

  • Loved that shoutout to Zara’s Vibrant Leather. LOL Kidding. Totally forgot that Francis was from New Zealand! And like Steven, I certainly didn’t know about the YOSLY accronym. Huge fan of Mefisto Gentiluomo ever since (coincidentally) Carlos (BFL) turned me onto it. Great, green violet leaf on top of what is clearly a tribute to Creed’s SMW. Also really enjoy Reflection and Nio but I’ve never smelled Elysium so I’d love to win that one. In fact, Roja’s Burlington 1819 wouldn’t go amiss for the summer either. Or Mancera’s Holidays for a tropical getaway? Overall, a really great list. I’ll be looking to sample Sicilian Leather next! USA

  • Nice video. I really enjoyed it. Steven is the Professor of Fragrances.and one of my favorite reviewers. Nice collab with Marisa. She seems well-versed with men’s fragrances. This video was a wealth of information. YOSLY by ELDO, that is how I’m going to call this fragrance from now on. Lol Marisa. From this list I already own the amazing Elysium and Reflection Man, 2 outstanding fragrances. I’d really love to win Xerjoff Nio. This has been on my wishlist for too long 🙂

  • Thanks so much for such an original selection of perfumes. For me I would take the Mephisto Bentiluomo as my first choice but also considering Amouage Reflection Man as one of the best fragances for a evening formal wear with a Jacket and a Buttom down shirt. Both are incredible scents and can’t wait to win each one of them. I will love to get them at my son’s Appartment in NYC and/or one of my offices in Miami. Sorry that I have no Instagram, but already registered myself with my email. Thanks again

  • Man I was so sure my next Xerjoff would be “Naxos” or “Alexandria II”. Nio never really catched my attention but now I’m hyped for it for sure… Damn you parfum youtubers make me poor…. Still, I really liked not seeing your everyday sommer colognes from other youtubers, actually 50% of your suggestions were new to me and I always like new input. Should I win I would appreciate a lot the Xerjoff – Nio, if that bottle breaks => Roja Elysium
All participants best of luck, we all share the same passion, greetings from Germany 🙂

  • Great video with Steven and Marisa. I liked the part with Roja Elysium. I agree that it’s a very easy to like!

From the Europarfums website I’d would have liked to have talked about Commodity Bergamot. That one is very simple fragrance but smells great for summer!

  • theronmwilliams says:

I enjoyed the fact that Steven and Marisa exposed me to some new fragrances that I have never come across. I also enjoyed the way they broke down the notes and explained each fragrance. If I were to win I would like Xerjoff Casomarati, Etat Libre D’ Orange You or Someone Like you, Roja Parfums Elysium, or Memo Paris Sicilian Leather.

  • joshuabrian says:

Steven is easily my favorite fragrance reviewer. He’s so passionate and thorough and I really learn a lot from him. Congrats to Roja on 10 years! I would have to go with the Amouge though! From USA! Thanks for the opportunity!

  • Jose Hernandez Jr says:

I really enjoyed the information on the Xerjoff Casamorati Mefisto Gentiluomo was presented. I’m new to this brand, and the bergamot note as explained in the video intrigues me.

Thanks for the video, it was greatly informative!
    Stay well!

  • I found the shoot star fragments you receive when you purchase a bottle of xerjoff from the shooting stars collection is a unique touch. I would like to win a bottle of xerjoff nio. Great video Steven and Marisa. Keep up the great work and keep on smelling great.

  • Jose Hernandez Jr says:

I would have also loved to hear about Commodity Bergamot. The description sounds like it could be in my wheel house.

  • MrMeadowsNose says:

I was under the [mistaken] impression that Reflection Man was quite sweet. So it was surprising to see it in a summer freshie top ten list. Of the ten listed, I am most interested in Amouage Reflection Man and Casamorati Mefisto Gentiluomo, but all of them actually sound fantastic.

  • Jose Hernandez Jr says:

    Did you say Bergamot?
I would love to win the Xerjoff Casamorati Mefisto Gentiluomo

  • I have only had the chance to test a few of these but I am sure they are all great. I have wanted to get elysium for s while so if I won that is the one I would choose.

  • glowquest_ says:

This was awesome as I love watching both of your videos separately(well all of the euro vids) so both of you together was awesome! I have really been interested in Abel loved learning a little about natural perfumes so would love to try that, also loved my sample of Jardin Exclusif and YOSLY. Would be happy to win any but especially those and also Nio! I would probably add Hermetica Source1 or Multilotus! In NY, US! Thanks for the chance!

  • Dominique Murchison says:

Great video. I always like to try different fragrances from around the world. I have not tried Amouage Reflection Man and I would love to try a fragrance from Oman.

  • Marc Salt says:

Very modern and classy selection from Steven, and Marisa who spot on describing the perfumes. My election will be Memo Paris Sicilian Leather, a house that I’m very curious to try and will love to win a bottle. Att Marc Salt NJ USA.

  • NikkoNikko says:

Great list! I’m pretty lacking in the citrus/floral department with my fragrances, so it was great to add things to my sample list. I was very surprised by the house Abel. It’s awesome that they make donations with their profit! Plus they are all natural to boot, gotta try some soon. After looking at the website, who could have a Mancera without a Montale. I really enjoy Montale Arabians in the summer when applied lightly. My choice for the draw however would be Reflection Man. Amouage is my favorite house and I’ve just gotten around to sampling this one and I love it! From Idaho, USA

  • I loved the review! I enjoyed seeing one of my favorites, YOSLY, in the top ten, as well as learning it had that acronym! I also added a few to my list of frags to try, including Mancera Jardin Exclusif. Sounds right up my alley. One thing I learned from the excellent video is that every bottle from the Xerjoff Shooting Stars collection comes with… a piece of a shooting star?! So weird and so cool.

From the Europarfum brands, call me crazy, but I would pick INTERLUDE 53 from Amouage as a summer scent. The heaviness of the summer heat should not be resisted, but embodied! Become the desert.

If I win, I would want Elysium, an excellent scent that I only have a small sample of right now. And I WOULD buy a sample set of these ten! Cheers from NC, USA.

  • I’ll always be interested in the greater latitude of niche scents. In the video, I was most struck by the overall applicability of Mancera Jardin Exclusif, a well-rounded and unisex fragrance; so many different notes, altogether in one scent. If I were to choose one to win for myself, this would be it. Hello, from Dallas!

  • I enjoyed hearing about all these fragrances. I learned that I need to find some friends like Marisa, who gives bottles of Elysium to her friends! I also discovered Redolessence and am now a subscriber.

I don’t have much experience with many of the scents from brands Europarfum carries, but if I were to add a summer perfume to the list from them, it might be Mancera’s Aoud Lemon Mint. I’d love to win any of the following bottles: Sicilian Leather, YOSLY, Amouage Reflection Man, Elysium, Nio, Basilico & Fellini, or Mefisto Gentiluomo. But if I had to pick one, I think I’d go with the Nio. I’m in Oklahoma, USA. Thanks, as always, for the draw!

  • Thank you CaFleureBon, Redolessence and Europerfumes! I am a Redolessence subscriber & in the USA. Thank you Steven for another great review! Marisa was a lovely guest for the top ten. I loved learning about Abel Odor, their dedication to botanicals, & the lovely ocean scent homecoming of their perfumer. I would have liked to see Ormonde Jayne’s Tanger included on the list (the CaFleureBon review is joyous).
I have a sample of Roja’s Elysium and it is as Steven describes! What a great gift idea, thank you Marisa! For my own enjoyment, I would love a bottle of Xerjoff’s Nio ❤️
I’m literally sitting in a pile of Xerjoff samples right now (but Nio is missing) and would Love to own a full bottle of any fragrance from this house. The most realistic bergamot!?! Yes, please!
Thank you for the wonderful opportunity! As someone else rightly added, best of luck to all fellow perfume lovers! ❤️

  • I really enjoyed the video with Steven and Marisa. They had a big selection of niche fragrances for Summertime.Mancera was one that sounded nice. I do like that brand. It’s florals abit sweet that’s definitely my taste. I think they choose 10 great fragrances. Thank you for this Chance USA

  • Paula Swafford says:

Thanks for the review of summer scents! I own You or Someone Like You, and I had no idea it was referred to as “YOSLY”!

I thought Cyan Nori and Elysium both sound interesting and I would love to win one of them.

  • rdknight89 says:

I really enjoyed this video for showing me a bunch of niche houses I don’t hear a lot about stateside, many of which I’m excited to get to try out someday! There’s truly a whole world out there and so many possibilities it’s exhilarating!

  • Great video! I learned that I need to give YOSLY a chance. It seems like it is something I’d like. But, Elysium has my heart. Elysium is in my collection and is by far what I wear the most. I just love this scent. As far as to what would like to win I would love Mefisto Gentiluomo, Basililca & Fellini, Nio, or Aqua Universalis Cologne Forte. Again, great video!

  • Perry Nelson Francis II says:

I really want to try Nio. It seems like an amazing fragrance. I was intrigued on how the Memo Paris leather fragrance can be worn in the summer. I wouldn’t of even read the note breakdown if it wasn’t for this video. Thank you!

  • Trinity33 says:

Like Steven, I didn’t know that Mancera had an “Exclusif” line either nor did I know the ELdO You or Someone Like You was colloquially referred to as YOSLY. This is a great list and focused on citrus as I would expect summer fragrances to be. I would be delighted to receive any on the list but am particularly interested in: YOSLY, Nio, Basililica & Fellini and Casamorati. I went to the europarfum website and would pick Floraiku Cricket Song to include on the list. I’m in MD, USA.

  • realtyisme says:

I am always looking to expand upon my Summer collection. Steve and Marisa opened my eyes to a few fragrances I’d like to try. The one that has caught my attention is Etat Libre d’Orange You or Someone Like You (aka YOSLY :)). The love of my life, mi Esposa Hermosa (my beautiful wife) is from Cuba. Our 1st date was at a Cuban restaurant in Philly that serves the best Mojitos. We go there every year to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The fragrance of this drink holds a special place in my heart. With that being said, I wonder which perfume I should choose 😉

  • jmmcmenamin says:

From the video, I loved the description of the Etat Libre d’Orange as a “mojito in a bottle”.
I would love to win the Xerjoff Casamorati!

  • This was such a great video. Steven and Marisa made an excellent pair. I love that the list included some new fragrances (to me anyway) as long as some tried-and-true OGs within the world for perfumery. It always strikes me as interested getting a woman’s perspective as far as scents that they love as well as scents that they love to gift (the vaunted Elysium). Although I’ve never smelled Elysium, it’s place in the fragrance world is legendary and if I were to have any one from this list, E would be it. One frag from Europerfumes that I think could have been a great addition is Vanilla Vibes from Juliette Has a Gun; I’ve heard it is a banger for beach time in the Summer!

  • Andrei Artimon says:

Oau only heavy hitters and gems, the one i would like it memo sicilian leather, new york, usa.

  • randallECTRIC says:

What a pro video…I’d love to have the Roja..I’ve only had my nose on a few..but what a great selection..the Etat Libre Y.O.S.L.Y. sounded very interesting..of course the MFK ,Amouage and the Casmorotti/Xerjoff offerings..so many great brands that I’d be happy with several of them..or any of them..the Xerjoff family I have not gotten any of as of yet to smell..great video and with expertise and top notch professionalism

  • Paul Ransom says:

I was most impressed with Reflection man being aquatic but very complex and wearable for all occasions..
Nio impressed me as being a bright citrus scent. I never knew it was a bright citrus scent.

  • Diana Maroiu says:

Vilhelm Parfumerie brand’s story kinda struck me. A Gatsby of the perfume world who owns a garden with basil by the lake Como… I got the picture so vivid in my head!
That was interesting to know. It connects the perfume wearer with the story behind the perfume.
But same as Marisa, I would love to gift Elysium to my special man, so I would like to win this perfume.
    Thanks for the amazing giveaway!

  • Amy Jensen says:

Thank you for introducing the new Maison Francis Kurkdjian Aqua Universalis Cologne Forte! I enjoyed learning the description between the different collections.
I was really interested in Abel Cyan Nori (Isaac Sinclair). I’ve never experienced an all-natural perfume and the nuances of tangerine and white peach sound amazing! Upon browsing the europarfum.com site I think Mango Skin by Vilhelm Parfumerie would have been a great addition to your list!

  • Miguel Figueroa says:

I sniffed Elysium once and I have to have it!!! Such a beautiful scent!!! Love his videos and recommendations!!

  • realtyisme says:

The one fragrance I would have liked to have seen in this list is Roja Oceania. This scent has Summer’s notes all over it. While I love Elysium, I feel Oceania offers a stronger feel of Summer :).

  • Michael Batchelor says:

I think that what I got most out of this video is that there are so many beautiful scents and houses that I never really knew about. I have been a follower of Steven for a long time and he always delivers the most comprehensive reviews. I think that out of all these I would like to have Xerjof Casamorati.

  • All of these sound fabulous. I liked that Abel is a natural perfume line. I learned that Nio comes with a meteorite. I would like to see Tsarina by Ormonde Jayne in the top ten. If lucky, I’d choose Dor Cyan Noir, Basilica and Fellini, Nio, Sicilian Leather or Jardin Exclusif. Thanks for the opportunity. Mich USA

  • Natalya Khaytu says:

What I learned today from this video is that my favorite brands (Xerjoff, Amouage, Maison Francis Kurkdjian) are always top brands and it makes me happy. Thank you Steven and Marisa, it is great video!
I personally don’t own any Roja nor I own any Vilhelm Parfumerie. I am very interested in Vilhelm Parfumerie Basililca & Fellini and or
    Roja Parfums Elysium (Roja Dove).

  • SirSmellsAlot says:

Thank you for the great content. I most enjoyed simply being made aware of these higher quality niche fragrances being relatively new as a collector. I have a modest collection of designer fragrances, but I have reached a point of being very niche-curious. Something from the video that struck me is Marisa is a sucker for a nice looking bottle. =) The brands this video most got me interested in are the Roja Elysium, the Amouage Reflection, and the Xerjoff Mefisto Gentiluomo. Thanks and goodluck everyone.

  • Amanda32828 says:

I love super fresh fragrances. From these fragrances I will love to own Elysium and Nio but truly this one ones are all excellent choices. Thank you for the opportunity to enter. Commenting from Orlando, Florida.

  • Jcvaughn1 says:

What I enjoyed about the video is that I learned that even a leather fragrance can be worn as a summer scent. The memo Sicilian leather really intrigued me.

  • mikebkirby says:

This was a really great video, i didnt know about half the list. I was shocked about the meteorite included in the packaging for NIO. Id never heard that mentioned before in all the reviews. Casamorati Fiero is one of my favorite citrus scent. That would have been a great inclusion. Thank you

  • I love the history behind the fragrances share by Marisa. I’ll love to try Sicilian Leather.

  • cremaydurazno says:

I hate hate mint but oddly enough I am really intrigued by YOSLY, I’ve been drinking spearmint tea recently and it isn’t as awful as peppermint so Marisa mentioning that YOSLY has spearmint makes me want to try it. Other perfumes I’m intrigued by and would like to try are Basillica and Fellini because I love basil and I’ve only tried one fig perfume, Mancera Jardín because I love peaches and peach perfumes and though I love citrus, I’m glad it doesn’t have it. The last one I would like to try is Abel Cyan Nori because I love eating nori and I love fruit so why not.

  • I love how unique some of the fragrances are and natural. I would love to win xerjoff Casamorati Mefisto Gentiluomo, Roja Elysium, Vilhelm Parfumerie Basililca & Fellini.

  • Toby Farms says:

This was a great video that lives up to the standard Redolescence continues to push forward. Learning about these fragrances such as Cyanori continues to send me down the rabbit hole of fragrances.

Always wanted a Etat Libre d’Orange fragrance (mainly wanting secretions magnifique or Remarkable People, sounds like YOSLY would be what I am looking for.!!✌

  • Love these. It was nice to learn that Abel Odor is female owned, and I think they said it was based in Amsterdam. I can’t think of many Dutch fragrance houses. It was also interesting that they described Jan Vilhelm as a modern day Gatsby… is being a Gatsby good? That wasn’t the message I took from that book. But his scents are divine. I would like to win either Etat Libre d’Orange You or Someone Like You, or Vilhelm Parfumerie Basillica and Fellini.
It’s really not fair to have us go to their site to pick one that should have been included. There are so many!! But the fresh apple scent of Etat Libre D’Orange “I am Trash” makes me wish it had been included. I love this scent.
And I am in the US.

  • redwheelbarrow says:

I’d never heard of Abel. Cyan Nori sounds pretty amazing being all natural. I’m also interested in Sicilian Leather being a vibrant leather. I also had been wondering about the differences in the Aqua line and interesting to learn that the cologne forte is an interpretation of a long wearing cologne. A fragrance I would add to this list is Cruz Del Sur II. For me it is such a happy fragrance with that wonderful milky mango. I wear it a lot in the heat. I think if I were to win I’d have to choose between the Aqua Universalis Cologne Forte and Italian Leather.

  • Wonderful reviews of some fragrances new to me and some older favs. I learned two things. How to say Able fragrances name correctly. 🙂 And that the Xerjoff Shooting Stars Collection of fragrances come with a little piece of a meteorite. A very unique idea!

I would most like to win Vilhelm’s Basilica and Fellini. I smelled it once and really enjoyed it.

From Europarfum I would have liked to have seen Mancera Aoud Lemon Mint. I just discovered it and my husband and I both love it!

If a sample set of these fragrances were available, I would consider purchasing it. Thanks for the giveaway. In the USA.

  • I just adored Steven’s and Marisa’s enthusiasm for all of the scents reviewed. It made me want to buy them all! The “needs no introduction” premise is true – as noted in the video, some are truly iconic. I would chose either Amouage Reflection (because I love the scent as well as love Oman), but Roja Dove Elysium also sounds wonderful. In NC, USA.

  • From the video I am intrigued by Memo Paris Sicilian Leather, for its fresh, effervescent quality, as Steven and Marissa described it. I have tried African Leather by Memo Paris and I like it a lot. Also, Marissa mentioned the feeling of walking through a summer garden in reference to Vilhelm Parfumerie Basililca & Fellini, so that, along with basil in a this perfume, interests me in this perfume.

From Europarfum website, I wish Ramon Monegal’s Oud on Fire was on this list of ten best. Oud doesn’t seem like a summer perfume, but, what the heck, I like oud, so why not.

Definitely would want to try samples first, if they were offered, as some of these are quite expensive, and tastes are very individual, so always prefer samples before full bottles.

Were I so lucky as to win this draw, I’d choose Roja Parfums Elysium, followed by Maison Francis Kurkdjian Aqua Universalis Cologne Forte, followed by Amouage Reflection Man, followed by Xerjoff Nio, followed by Mancera Jardin Exclusif, followed by Memo Paris Sicilian Leather, followed by Vilhelm Parfumerie Basililca & Fellini… just because I have yet to try any of these brands.

Thanks for the draw and video reviews of these perfumes. I am in the USA and am a Redolessence subscriber.

  • Awesome video
Well picked fragrances by Steven and Marisa. It was nice learning Abel is all natural brand, Sicilian Leather was reviewed on Cafleurebon, Etat Libre d’Orange is favorite brand of quite a few contributors here ,Reflection Man is a classic one , I can’t stop praising the list.
It was nice learning about MFK new Cologne Forte collection, and that the longevity of the original is not sacrificed for the freshness , like it usually happens. I’ll have to try them all , MFK is favorite brand of mine.
What absolutely shocked me , is when Marisa called Reflection Man “Super aquatic” . My opinion differs, but I respect hers of course.
I’d like to win Roja Dove Elysium.
Looking at Europerfumes brands, I think Mancera Sicily should have been in the list.
    Thanks for the draw

  • It was cool to learn about MFK’s new release! Great video! I would choose Reflection Man (or Nio or Elysium or YOSLY). USA

  • What struck me about the shooting stars collection is that every box comes with a fragment of a shooting star! I’ve smelled Nio and it’s the most beautiful opening I’ve ever smelled. Would love to add it to my collection.

I always feel ambivalent about citrus in fragrances, because sometimes it can be pretty boring, so I appreciated Steven’s observations about Casamorati and how the floral notes make the fragrance more complex. I was interested too in his comments about Xerjoff’s ability to do a long-lasting citrus, since the fleeting nature of such notes is another negative for me. My choice to win, however, would be the Vilhelm Basilico & Fellini, since the combination of basil and fig sounds so appealing to me. I am in the USA in NC.

  • Hello! What I particularly enjoyed about this video is how in-depth Steven and Marisa are about everything presented. For example, I was not aware of the house of Abel and their wonderful initiative to donate meals to children in need. Likewise, it’s always interesting to hear the backstory about fragrances such as how Marisa describes Basilico & Fellini’s inspiration. With that said, I would love to win a bottle of Elysium by Roja Dove, YOSLY by Etat Libre d’Orange, or Reflection Man by Amouage.

  • I love how they kept the descriptions short and precise. Marisa mentioned that Memo’s Sicilian Leather wasn’t a heavy leather but mild and great for summer. I haven’t trued any from this house yet so this one is interesting. I would love to win the Memo fragrance.

  • Derek Bedinghaus says:

Some interesting choices there. I enjoyed having Marissa in the video you both complimented each other nicely& it was nice to see her opinions. It was my first time hearing about Vilhelm Parfumerie & Memos Sicilian Leather. I think I would actually choose Memo Sicilian Leather. As a possible addition to the list maybe histoire de parfums 1828.

  • Dwayne Alexander says:

I truly enjoyed the video with Steven and Marisa. The wealth of knowledge they shared about fragrances was refreshing and enlightening. I was particularly interested in their perspectives on the longevity and quality of the Xerjoff brand (especially Nio). I would like to win Nio, Xerjoff Casamorati Mefisto Gentiluomo, or Reflection. Thanks

I absolutely love the vibe of this video , two knowledge fragrance lovers sharing their niche summer picks with us
I have to admit what struck me as odd , is the way Marisa described Reflection Man “super aquatic” , each to his own i guess.
I’m on the same page with Michelyn through, I mean about Reflection Man .
Roja Dove Elysium is my choice.
After researching all houses Europerfumes is working with , I think I would’ve add Dolce Amalfi Xerjoff to my list.
Appreciate the Michelyn introduction, the video reviews, and the giveaway campaign

    Hi,

I adored their chemistry, knowledge and delivery. Great list with some I know and love, as well as some new discoveries. I had never heard of the brand Abel, but I’m always on the hunt for new and All Natural brands. That was a nice bit of information. If chosen, id love to win Reflection Man by Amouage. I’ve always loved it and had many samples, but would love a full bottle. After browsing Europerfumes site, I would have loved to hear more about Xerjoff Uden or Mancera Cedrat Boise. That said, id totally buy a sample set of this list as they all sounded wonderful!

    Thanks for the opportunity.

    Regards,

    B

  • I learned from the vid that Marisa is Italian. From the website link I’d have liked to have seen on the list the Impossible Iris from Monegal. I would like to win the You or Someone Like You or the Xerjoff Casmeroti. US

  • It was nice seeing a Vilhelm on the list because you don’t see them very often on many lists. Also some great summer fragrances. Roja elysium, xerjoff nio and amouage reflection are all amazing fragrances. If I won I would pick elysium, reflection or Sicilian leather.

  • I love Roja perfumes, Elysium too, although find Perfume version more beautiful. Cologne version. I love Xerjoff which have so many beautiful perfumes for summer.
I would prefer to win Roja Elysium.
    USA

  • I’d like to tour Europerfumes office too 🙂
I love learning about new brands and fragrances. I don’t think I’ve heard Abel before, i only smelled 3 Maison Francis Kurkdjian fragrances , Jardine Exclusif sounds really good too.
I’d also like to say my eyes almost popped out , when I saw Marisa portraying Reflection Man as …… super aquatic .
Went to Europerfumes website like you told us to , and if was up to me, Amabile would’ve been in the list. Now it’s in my top 2 Xerjoff fragrances, number one still being Mefisto. Tart, juicy and spicy fragrance, with mouthwatering opening.
I have a soft spot for Mefisto, the original, I’d like to win Mefisto Gentiluomo
Exquisite giveaway , thanks Steven , and Europerfumes

I loved hearing both Steven’s and Marisa’s takes on the fragrances. I was shocked that Marisa gifted Elysium to her hairdresser. That’s one heck of a tip! I would love to win Xerjoff Nio. Looking at the list of brands, I think Gentle Fluidity Silver from MFK with its cooling juniper note would have fit in well.

  • Joshua Rodriguez says:

I really enjoyed learning about Jan Vilhelm and the inspiration behind Basilico & Fellini. I think I’d go with Basilico & Fellini based on it highlighting Basil.

  • Bryant Worley says:

I liked hearing something new to me, which the all-natural brand was, and learning about Abel Cyan Nori. And I appreciated hearing that they are giving back by purchasing a meal for a child with every purchasIe.

I would like to have seen Xerjoff 40 Knots make the list, since it’s a very nice summery fragrance.

    I would like to win:
    1) Memo Paris Sicilian Leather
    2) Mancera Jardin Exclusif
    3) Etat Libre d’Orange You or Someone Like You (Caroline Sabas) aka YOSLY
    4) Amouage Reflection Man
    5) Roja Parfums Elysium
    6) Xerjoff Nio
    7) Vilhelm Parfumerie Basililca & Fellini
    8) Xerjoff Casamorati Mefisto Gentiluomo

I live in Waldorf, Maryland, USA.

  • I agree with Marisa when she says that Elysium is a ” fresh fragrance that works all year round.” If you want compliments Elysium gets them everytime. I just wish it lasted longer, especially at it’s price point.

If I win I’d like a bottle of Xerjoff Casamorati Mefisto Gentiluomo. If not available, I’d like Nio, Reflection Man, or Sicilian Leather.

Thank you for the opportunity, and an awesome collaboration with Steven and Marisa!

  • The fragrance that caught my attention was Amouage Reflection for Men, I first came to know them on a trip to Oman, and I would love something from them that was an excellent choice for summer. The aquatic-based scent would be a welcome change up from others in my collection. It would be my choice.

A runner up was the Sicilian Leather, I like the idea of combining it with leather and lemon for a more summer appropriate fragrance.

I would like to have seen one of the Carner Barcelona offerings on the list, perhaps Tardes.

Yes, I would be interested in sample set if it were offered.

  • Steven’s reviews are always enjoyable and this one was no exception. I learned a few things: 1) the house of Abel donates a meal to a child in need when you purchase a fragrance. 2) Xerjoff sends a piece of meteorite with their Shooting Stars fragrances! Of all fragrances listed, I would love to win Xerjoff Nio. ~Indiana, USA

  • I’ve heard of some of these fragrances already and I appreciate Marisa and Steven’s additional insight in regards to what these fragrances are like. I’ve never tried Roja Parfums “Elysium” but I imagine that it would be a good gift for someone, i.e. as Marisa suggested. I would like to win any of these fragrances, especially Roja Parfums “Elysium”, Xerjoff Casamorati “Mefisto Gentiluomo”, Xerjoff “Nio”, M.F.K. “A.U.C.F.”, Amouage “Reflection Man”, and Memo Paris “Sicilian Leather”. I live in MD., U.S.A. One fragrance which I would have liked to have seen mentioned is Roja Parfums “Oceania”.

  • WaltherP99 says:

High end summer list, with great warm weather fragrances in it . I know all , excluding MFK Aqua Universalis Cologne Forte.
I like how Marisa was comfortable in front of the camera, and the friendly atmosphere of the whole video.
I do understand we are all different, with different views, taste and body chemistry, but what struck me the most is when Marisa called Reflection Man “super aquatic” , and also “you can’t necessary pull that off all year round”. The first especially felt like Thor came from the sky , and struck me with Mjölnir , I don’t get even slight traces of aquatics in it.
Reflection Man i personally wear , for over 10 years now , mostly in the Spring and Autumn, because the high heat amplifies the jasmine too much for my liking.
I would wear 9 fragrances in the list, presuming
Aqua Universalis Cologne Forte is good too. Abel fragrances smell nice , but unfortunately my skin is really dry, and I can’t wear natural perfumes, even traces of such are gone in less than half an hour.
The one Europerfumes carried summer fragrance , that I would’ve chosen myself is Oceania Roja Dove
My choice is Elysium Pour Homme by Roja Dove
Just followed @marisaauciello , her profile is private, all other profiles I already follow
Except for Steven and Marisa, I’d also like to thank Michelyn for the nice introduction.

Hello there! I absolutely loved the video – both Steven and Marisa were so charming and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed learning about the background of Vilhelm Parfumerie and it’s founder Jan Vilhelm. I was really struck by the image of his vacation home in Lake Cuomo, which is one of my favorite vacation destinations. I love the thought of walking through a fragrant basil garden in the summer, wet and fragrant with dew, and I can’t imagine how amazing that would be captured in a bottle.

If there’s one fragrance I would have liked to see featured on this list from Europerfumes it would be Amouage Lyric Woman (or man!). I like my summer perfumes to have a little more body and impact – I only very rarely like fresh and light scents. Lyric Woman has a dark, solemn rose, but supported by very fresh components – brash galbanum and lively bergamot, with a touch of ginger. It’s the perfect type of summer fragrance for a woman, or man, who wants some depth and power, but without the heft.

If I win, I would love a bottle of Amouage Reflection. All their perfumes, man or woman, are just so delightfully unisex in my opinion. I live in the US, thanks so much for the giveaway!

  • Justin Benyola says:

This video was very informative for me. I have always been intrigued by Memo Paris leather fragrances and I haven’t heard of the Sicilian leather yet. I’d love to have that fragrance! Another fragrance that stood out to me was Roja Elysium. I’ve heard all the raving reviews on this and would love to get this in my collection. The last fragrance that I’ve actually been eyeing a lot lately is Nio by Xerjoff. The note break down on this sounds so beautiful and uplifting. It would definitely be a wonderful addition to my collection. All in all, these three fragrances spoke to me and I would absolutely be thrilled to be the winner of the fragrance give away. Thank you and keep up the amazing work.

  • jeehe1018 says:

Loved learning about some new brands I hadn’t heard of before! I thought the Memo perfume sounded really interesting – personally not into leathers, but curious what a “vibrant” leather would smell like! From the Euro Parfum website, I would have liked to see a Commodity perfume on the list – perhaps Rain or Bergamot. My choice for the giveaway would be Nio by Xerjoff.

  • forrestanez says:

I really enjoyed how well Steven and Marisa flowed through the mini reviews and thoughts. I was unaware that the Shooting Stars collection from Xerjoff comes with a piece of shooting star, that is incred! The one I would most love to win would be Elysium by Roja Dove followed by Memo Sicilian Leather. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity. I reside in the USA, Hawaii.

  • Ryan Flanigan says:

I really enjoyed the video. Most of these I had never heard if before. I really appreciated your description of Elysium, and how it was a non-linear fragrence and that you will get the citrus all the way through the progession. For that reason, I would love to try a bottle of the Elysium, or Reflection Man (which I have been wanting to try for some time).

  • I just adore summer and summer fragrances! <3 I learned so much from Marisa – I hope she contributes more to Cafleurebon! Her take on the Kurkdjian perfumes was great. She sold me on Aqua Universalis Cologne forte and it's the one I would choose. <3 My second choice would be Etat Libre d’Orange You or Someone Like You. It sounds gorgeous! I live in the States.

Marisa and Steven collaboration i enjoyed a lot, like two old friends discussing their passion for fragrances.
A lot of people are laughing at me always sampling first, most think it’s waist to money, not to me. Some fragrances could smell so much different, on different people, even relatives, that you’ll never even recognize the scent. I’m saying that because of how Marisa called Reflection Man-super aquatic. I know the fragrance , I’m not saying she’s wrong through, but I was not expecting it.

“Amouage Reflection Man (Lucas Siuezac): Omani luxury; pink pepper and petit grain reside in the top of the perfume pyramid while jasmine and cedar greet us a bit later in the life of the perfume. Vetiver and patchouli in the base crate a resolute aroma that is sure to add many hours of longevity to this remarkable perfume.”

Exactly how I feel about Reflection Man.
Fragrances from the collaboration I’m going to try,and why:
-Memo Paris Sicilian Leather, Not overly complex , but well executed citruses, suede, and woods, I’m really drown to similar combinations. It’s rare to find leather fragrance , that works in the heat
-Mancera Jardin Exclusif , summer gourmand
-Vilhelm Parfumerie Basilico and Fellini , Happy fig, greenness, vetiver , screams class , a bit mature maybe? Or it’s just my association with overly green fragrances.Morning Chess i have
-Maison Francis Kurkdjian Aqua Universalis Cologne Forte , I wonder if the performance is just as good as the original.
Europerfumes works with Xerjoff, so i would’ve chosen Xerjoff Amabile if I was part of the collaboration.
    Thank you all
    USA

  • Thank you for the video. That’s a wonderful list and includes two of my loves – Roja Doves, Elysium and Mefisto Gentiluomo as well as a variation of a third – Aqua Universalis Forte from MFK now done in Cologne Forte which I will be looking to try out. From europarfums.com, I would have liked to see Carner Barcelona’s El Born and Comptoir Sud Pacifique Eau Des Tropiques in the top 10 Summer list. I would love to win Elysium from Roja Dove as I have run out or Nio from Xerjoff. I’m in USA

  • I’m here to be in for the giveaway mentioned in the video from Redolessence with Steven & Marissa.

I feel a weird sensation in my stomach when I smell florals but my nose always look for florals with woods & light sweetness.

It would be nice to own the one from Casa Morati since I live in the Caribbean with warmer weather.

  • petergigov says:

One of the best giveaways on Cafleurebon for the past month. Perfect job , I mean it !
What I enjoyed the most is three way reviews of all 10 fragrances , with one strikingly different view . I’m well familiar with Amouage Reflection Man, but for those unaware of it is really helpful to see and read different opinions about it. Since it’s the first niche fragrance I ever bought, and one of my top most complimented ones..ever, I can relate to Michelyn view , i believe Reflection Man is nowhere near aquatic. I had to turn on the subtitles, just in case I’m misheard what Marisa said.
I follow Memo on Instagram, and last three weeks they are uploading a lot of pictures of newest fragrance , it’s called Corfu .
Xerjoff Casamorati Mefisto Gentiluomo or Roja Dove Elysium are my most desirable perfumes , both I’d like to win. Either would be great.
Yes I’d like my comment to be counted twice, so I went to Europerfumes website , and think Roja
Vetiver Pour Homme , Parfum Cologne is just as good as most of your recommendations.
    More three way reviews please.
    Overly exciting giveaway, USA
    Regards

Thank you for the great review Stephen and Marisa.

I loved learning about the brand Abel . I did not know that there were plant based, female owned and contributed to the community positively. Cyan Nori sounds absolutely fragrance – totally cool name and the notes do it so much justice.

I also loved the sound of Memo Sicilian Leather. Leather scents always fascinate me and I enjoyed the Cafleurebon review of this scent.

I also loved hearing about YOSLY. Having that spearmint note is quite interesting in perfumery.

I would certainly have loved to smell 1861 Renaissance. I would also have loved to smell Vilhelm Perfumerie Fig and Mango Skin.

I would certainly buy a sample set of these fragrances.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • This was an incredible list of niche summer scents. I had never heard of Cyan Nori. I love that they are an all natural line. And I was so touched to learn they donate proceeds for every bottle sold to a meal for a child in need.

I went to Euro Parfum’s website and I would have loved to have had Mancera Holidays added to this summer list.

    I live in the USA.

  • I enjoyed the succinct overview of so many wonderful fragrances presented in the video. It was fun to learn that all fragrances from the shooting stars collection includes a fragment of a meteorite in every box. It would be amazing to win Mefisto Gentiluomo or Elysium. KY/USA. I would not likely buy a sample set of all 10 as I am already familiar with several of them. Thanks for the giveaway.

Well spoken, calmed , looking great, nicely done hair, not patronizing Steven, I like Marisa , I’d like to see more videos with her , or other Europerfumes employees. I’m not judgmental, I’m sure most caught her take on Reflection Man. She has her opinion, I got mine.
Mancera Jardin Exclusif I think is too sweet for the scorching weather.
I’m a massive Maison Francis Kurkdjian fan , I own Aqua Universalis , the bigger 200ml bottle , and Aqua Universalis Forte , both i got from Luckyscent. The Cologne… Yes longevity is there, like Marisa said, but the smell is very different, not a fan. There are way better fragrances well presented by Marisa and Steven.
Like I said, Marisa hair is so nicely done, no wonder she’s giving her hairdresser bottles of Elysium 🙂 My stylist only wears Mancera fragrances, I’ll have to give him a bottle on his next birthday, nice idea
With no hesitation, in my opinion the best Xerjoff fragrance Cruz del Sur II should’ve been in this top 10 Cafleurebon and Europerfumes list .
Roja Parfums Elysium , Amouage Reflection Man, Xerjoff Mefisto Gentiluomo are the fragrances i’d like to win the most.
Top video , top giveaway, and top intro, thanks

Steven and Marisa’s video rundown of 10 excellent niche fragrances for summer was on point and packed full of information. If I were to select 1 from the list, it would be Elysium. I’ve wanted to try a Roja fragrance for some time so I definitely hope to win this giveaway. I would’ve liked to have seen Morning Chess from Wilhelm Perfumeries in this lineup as well. I appreciate the generosity and opportunity to participate in this draw. Best from Virginia, USA!

  • I really learned so much from this video review. I haven’t explored Xerjoff, nor tried anything from most of these houses before (except Mancera), so it was good and informative for me. I love when they include notes but also what tends to stand out or how they play upon each other. I’d love to win any of these, but my favorite I think is Abel Cyan Nori. I live in the USA. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • joelcard13 says:

I really enjoyed the way the described the fragrances, allowing me to get a better sense of what these niche scents have to offer. I’ve always been interested in Elysium, but now, I’m more interested than ever! I would love to win a bottle of that or Reflection! I hope I’m not too late

  • Manuel Gonzalez says:

I enjoyed this video very much, very informative. I’m a late bloomer to the fragrance world and I must admit I like it. I have so much catching up that I’m just letting it happen organically. I recently got a sample of Elysium by Roja and it’s just a wonderful scent. It’s also had a hefty price tag as it has every right to have. It’s such a pleasing and versatile fragrance. I’d be remiss if I didn’t say I wish I had a bottle of.

  • Raul Shum says:

never tried any niche fragrances but i’ve been watching youtube videos about them I would like to win a bottle of Reflection Man by Amouage or Elysium by Roja Dove. Seems like some british youtubers and Steve agree on them.. 🙂

  • Martin Lehman says:

Love these summer fragrance videos! You guys are great. I’d love to own any one of theses frags; but my top three are Elysium from Roja, Reflection Man from Amouage and YOSLY. Now I’m not a hairdresser but I could see myself going through a bottle of Elysium pretty quick. It smells AMAZING!! Thank you!

  • Outstanding presentation.
Sometimes it’s difficult to find accurate reviews of Niche fragrances through internet.
Well done, thank you very much.
