AMOUAGE Ashore opens like a photorealistic, sparkling spring morning with a gentle breeze breaking through chilly mists. Out for a walk, squinting at the sunrise, feet crunching through occasional remnants of melting snow, there is a heady mix of floral notes on the breeze, and an impression of lilac blooming somewhere out of sight, tantalizing and dewy. On this brisk and idyllic morning walk with Ashore, a dusty quality briefly joins the floral notes, like earth newly freed from snow and ice that has not yet absorbed any moisture. A glance up at the sky shows clouds rolling in behind the morning mists. There is a hushed rustle from bushes, trees, and plants hoping to redirect the coming rainfall towards parched roots beneath. The walker quickens the pace and looks for shelter as the air becomes charged with static, an electric current threading the mists.

Under the dilapidated overhang of a wooden shed, the walker ducks down to escape the coming rain. An early-blooming jasmine bush has taken root near the shed, its untrained, wild shoots twining around the warped beams. Droplets fall gently at first, maturing into a spring shower rather than a full storm. Any vestiges of snow are now melting into rivulets that mingle with the rainwater. Nearby jasmine blooms open silent maws to the sky as the rain sinks softly into the ground and the roots beneath. As quickly as it started, the rain stops. The windows of the old shed are streaked with grime and old dust, but their leaded glass glows with a faint iridescence as the sun begins to peek through. The walker ducks under the dripping overhang of the shed and heads back out, observing that sunbeams have started to pierce the gray clouds and disperse the morning mists.

A rose bramble that has been pummeled slightly by the shower casts its intense and concentrated scent to mingle with the jasmine. As the walker passes the shed to return to the path, rose and jasmine indole are tempered by pink pepper, and the phantom lilac mocks sweetly, still just out of sight. AMOUAGE Ashore becomes a gentler floral mélange, soft pinks and dusky purples, a rain-swept bouquet—lovely and effervescent.

Ambergris growls gently like the distant thunderclap of a storm in retreat. Flora and fauna collectively catch their breath, wondering if the storm will return. Rain has shaken branches and stems, awakening buds and flowers to the promise of warmer days. The bark and sap of a broken branch smell of sandalwood, crackling under the tiny woodland feet of creatures that had sought shelter from the rain. Water begins to drip away, evaporating off damp clothing as puddles form on firmer ground. Dense rose fills the air, and AMOUAGE Ashore settles into the skin, a lingering watercolor of floral springtime.
