Although planned to be unveiled at Esxence 2020, which has been postponed until February 11th, 2021 due to the pandemic, The Art and Olfaction Awards Finalists were live-streamed and announced this year on April, 24th. Since its inception in 2014 by Saskia Wilson Brown The The Art and Olfaction Awards have become a prestigious celebration of excellence in independent perfumery. The Art and Olfaction Awards honors excellent work being done in a broad range of styles. Cemented by its the three juried categories (artisan category, independent category, and the Sadakichi Award for Experimental Work with Scent), awards are also given in three discretionary categories: The Contribution to Scent Culture Award, The Septimus Piesse Award for Exceptional Vison, and the Aftel Award for Handmade Perfume. As with past years, the panel of esteemed judges includes luminaries from the perfume and art worlds. Together, these judges blindly selected the finalists in the artisan and independent categories.
