Molinard is one of the most storied Houses in all of French Perfumery. Its history dates from 1849, when a small shoppe opened in Grasse and quickly became a favorite among the wealthy and royalty. In the early 1900s,  M. Adam Sittler, the founder and first generation of perfumers opened a factory and mansion continues to be a major tourist and historical attraction in the area. There you can see how the fragrances are created and step back into time and visit a museum of Molinard perfumes throughout history. Habanita, created in 1921 is an icon of French Fragrances.

    I always enjoy Sebastian’s colorful and informative reviews. I especially love how he can discern notes within a composition and explain them so well. I had never heard of this house before his review. I find the history behind the house and the prestige it has acquired very fascinating. If I am chosen as a winner, I would love to try Vanille, as I am somewhat of a vanilla addict. It’s probably my favorite note in fragrance.

    Oh I love Molinard! I had a bottle of Patchouli that I gave to my best friend, and dreamt about it since! I loved the review, especially the Figue description!     I enjoy Sebastian’s adjectives with each fragrance. Without actually smelling them, I can at least understand what they would smell like!
    I’ve learned this fragrance house dates back several hundred years ago, so I can appreciate the longevity and the experience that comes with this fragrance. I’ve never smelled any Molinard fragrances, but my first choice would be Patchouli. I’m looking for a really good patchouli inspired fragrance to add to my collection.

    I remember the Molinard factory from my visit to Grasse a few years ago. It is such a lovely setting. Very in depth review Sebastian. I would love to try either Figue or Patchouli. I purchased a discovery set when I was there but it’s long gone. I’m in the US.

    Molinard de Molinard was my favorite fragrance in the 90s. It’s a pleasure to know they are still making fragrances. I recently stumbled onto Sebastian’s channel. It’s very hard to know fragrances when many stores only carry celebrity scents that are not my style. He and his cohorts have opened my senses to more than I could’ve imagined. I need all the perfume! Sebastian’s description of Patchouli made my mouth water. I need to smell it!

    What I enjoyed about Sebastian’s review was the picture he caused one to envision as he is outlining the fragrances. For example, the way he explained the vanilla would cause one to envision someone baking a dessert, as he sounded like it was his fr6he was mixing together. I would prefer Patchouli.     I have been interested in both Figue and Vanille so I was so glad Sebastian chose those two especially to review. I havent tried them but have tried a couple Fig frags and enjoyed them as well as loving vanilla. From Sebastian’s descriptions I think I’d enjoy both. I knew Molinard was a historic house but didnt know that there is a museum where u can go and learn about it and how the perfumes are made. It’s hard to choose between the 2 I mentioned but I suppose if I win I’d choose Figue. I do live in CT USA.Thanks so much for the draw!

I learned that if you ever buy Molinard, you will always come back wanting more. Habanita is a masterpiece of the house of Molinard.

    I learned that they date back a couple hundred years , their perfumery is located in Grasse France and this is the house that made habanita! Also learned Sebastian’s favorites which always helps me because anything he loves I tend to like as well. I came across his review of intense cafe and am currently in love with this new to me discovery!
    I always enjoy how in detailed Sebastian is in his reviews. If I won I would love to try vanille.

    Sebastian did a great job (as always!) breaking down the notes for each of these fragrances and taking you on their respective scent journeys. I learned that I can visit the museum of Molinard perfumes if I’m ever in Grasse. I’m a fan of gourmands, so I prefer Vanille. USA.

    Thanks for introducing this French brand to me. Didn’t realize Molinard is based in Grasse and that it has such a long history. I am a fan of traditional fragrances and will definitely be checking out Habanita this year. I also thought Sebastian’s review was very helpful in describing the scent profiles of each of the three fragrances for us – all three sound lovely, would prefer Figure over Patchouli and Vanille.     I’ve been eyeing this house since Sebastian’s review of Vanilla Patchouli months ago. Since then I’ve been hearing a lot of positive reviews about this house, in particular Figue which sounds amazing. Also, these bottles are absolutely beautiful to me. If I were to win I would choose Figue, which I think would really work well in the tropical climate in which I live. Thank you for the opportunity.

    I know Molinard because of Habanita , most, if not all fragrance enthusiasts do.
    Love the original version and the modernized EDP . Some of the flankers are good too.
    The purple bottles I know nothing about.
    Most appealing to me is Vanille because of the vanilla and caramel mix.

    I so enjoy Sebastian’s descriptions of fragrance. Unlike many other reviewers, he has an innate ability to bring to reality the auras and flavors of the fragrances. It is like an immersive sensory journey listening to him speak. Also, as this is a new interest, I was not aware of the longstanding histories of many of these houses such as Molinard as described in the intro. Although my safe bet is always a warm vanilla, I would love to try the Figue.

I love that he mentioned Molinard is a few hundred years old, and how he drew on his personal experience growing up in the Mediterranean when he described the Figue fragrance.     Sebastian can so accurately pick-up notes, but what I find most helpful (especially when I’m feeling naughty and indulge in some fragrance ‘blind buying’) is how he elaborates on the personality of that note. For instance, vanilla–being in so many perfumes–is a beast of an ingredient that could play many roles in a perfume. Sebastian remarks how in Molinard’s Vanille, the vanilla is sweet and gourmand; probably why he describes the scent as warm and comforting. It is especially important to discuss what the notes are actually doing instead of just listing them off…like hello! I can read the Fragrantica listing my self, thank you. This is made even more important when it comes to scents that keep their scent pyramids minimal. Molinard can get away that; being that they are based in Grasse, I’m sure of their access to the finest ingredients. Although the Vanille sounds delicious, I want the Figue! Recently tried Philosykos by Diptyque and now I am on the hunt for fig fragrances that also focus on the fruit. I do adore my green scents, but its made just that much better when the creaminess accents the fig leafs and you get this wet, reinvigorating moment. Kindly, From Brooklyn!

    I was so excited when Sebastian teased about a future upload that would be focused on Molinard fragrances! Watching the video on his favorite lavender fragrances is what led me to purchase a bottle of Lavande and I absolutely love it.

    This review was fantastic. I’m new to fragrances and it’s a fascinating world with so much tangible history that can still be enjoyed through so many fragrances that are created and reinvented. Molinard being a pillar in that pantheon of that generational influence isn’t surprising given what I’ve seen of the fragrance community’s love for their work. It being in the fifth generation and Lerouge-Bénard being the houses first woman executive reminds me a lot of the house of Dior’s current place in history with Maria Grazia Chiuri as the fashion house’s first woman artistic director.

    That said, I loved Sebastian’s personal note about growing up in the mediterranean and how special the Figue is to him for its unique composition drawing that memory out. Like I said, I’m new to fragrances but I also am a cook and my favorite part of the fragrance journey is imagining scents based off aromatics and ingredients I’m so used to in cooking. Sebastian’s note about the Vanille’s gourmand feel with the vanilla pod base-notes making it feel like a compote was wonderful and is exactly the kind of thing I love about his reviews.

    I would absolutely love to have the bottle of the Figue after hearing all the notes and how it doesn’t just focus on the leaves for a green or tea scent with the jasmine in the base but a fruitier touched scent. Thank you so much. <3

    Who doesn’t like playful vanilla fragrances, with fruity touches and caramel? Vanille is my choice.
    Molinard do know how to do the vanilla and caramel together, I’m happy to have Secret Sucre.
    Unlike the purple ones, Secret Sucre is from Molinard high end line called Prive. To me the Prive line is on considerably higher level than all others , how they smell , the bottles , presentation… they are just better.

    I liked how Sebastian pointed out differences between Molinard’s Vanille, Patchouli, and Figue and other approaches to using these notes. He gave a sense of what makes Molinard’s versions distinctive. I would go for Figue, and have not experienced any Molinard fragrances, but I learned a bit about the history of the company, which I enjoyed. I am in the US.

    In the review of the Molinard’s offerings by Sebastian (Looking Feeling Smelling Great) I enjoyed the detailed breakdown of notes and how the scent would be best worn according to time of year. I own various fragrances but am new to the Molinard brand. I am highly interested in Experiencing Molinard Patchouli as the notes are more to my liking and style (even though I do care for vanilla based fragrances as well).     I love Sebastian’s reviews on all of these fragrances! Learning that Molinard has been around for over 200 years is impressive.

    The reviews of both the Vanille and Patchouli caught my attention; the caramel/butterscotch notes in Vanille and the rich, earthy, almost chocolate notes in Patchouli really spoke to me.

    Patchouli is a note I have been really digging right now. It is funny, because I have also been really looking in to the Molinard brand. I recently purchased my first Molinard, which happens to be Cuir… quite simply, stunning! For a retail value of $65, how in the world could you go wrong? It is easily worth 3x that price!

    I have had my eye on a few of the Molinard’s since purchasing Cuir. Vanille, Patchouli, Vanille Patchouli, Ambre, and Rose are on my list to blind buy. The quality of Cuir mixed with the prices of the gorgeous bottles… I want them!

    Patchouli is next on my list so that would definitely be the one I would have to choose.     Being someone who is brand new in discovering Niche/House fragrances, I would have probably never heard of or about Molinard perfumes without being subscribed to Sebastian’s You Tube channel. I really enjoy how not only informative and knowledgable Sebatian was on these fragrances, but also how very enthusiastic and excited he was while reviewing these fragrances.     If you love perfumes, you should know Molinard and Habanita. To me it smells more masculine, and I’m sure if it was 2018-2020 release it would have been marketed as unisex.
    I don’t own it, but I have Ambre Lumiere , top amber scent almost as good as my favorite amber Amber Absolute Tom Ford. I recommend it to other fans of Amber Absolute, and 3 guys bought it because of me.
    Value with Molinard is great. You basically getting quality fragrances for midrange designer prices.
    I want to win Figue, the most versatile of the 3.

    I always enjoy Sebastian’s colorful and informative reviews. I especially love how he can discern notes within a composition and explain them so well. I had never heard of this house before his review. I find the history behind the house and the prestige it has acquired very fascinating. If I am chosen as a winner, I would love to try Vanille, as I am somewhat of a vanilla addict. It’s probably my favorite note in fragrance.

    Molinard’s Habanita, one of the great names in the history of French perfumes is so distinctive. It always makes me smile. I often saw Molinard bottles when shopping in France years ago. It’s wonderful to be reminded of their beauty while watching Sebastian’s review. Thank you to Sebastian for describing the notes in Figue, Vanille, and Patchouli so clearly.     I enjoyed learning about the history of Molinard fragrances dating back to 1849. I heard good things about Molinard fragrances especially regarding Figue, Vanille, Patchouli, and Vanille Patchouli. I haven’t had the opportunity to try anything from this house, but they all sound like very affordable niche quality offerings. If I win I would pick Patchouli.

    I have visited Molinard in Grasse also, and I had such a wonderful time testing fragrances and purchasing there. I didn’t realize that Figue was so popular within the fragrance community! I liked it and Patchouli both when I tried them at the museum/factory in Grasse, but Vanille was my favorite of these three that I smelled while I was there. So, if I win, I would choose Vanille. I am in the US 🙂

    It’s the first time I’ve heard Molinard, but I like how affordable they are. For the price you can rarely get something decent.
    I like to get Vanille , I wonder what vanilla, caramel and compote would smell like .

    I appreciate Sebastian giving the price points and a little background on House of Molinard. Ahh, French perfume! I love the H of M has been supplying for so long. Three fragrances that I’d be hard pressed to choose from. Love the descriptions of them. Figue, I’d definitely try but the earthiness of Patchouli and the warmth of Vanille sound luscious. I am a lover of all three of these in perfume. I will probably need to try them all.

    While I’ve heard so much about the Molinard brand, I’ve never tried anything from this house. I love the notes and description of Vanille.

    As always, Sebastian delivered an awesome review of these three fragrances. I enjoyed his thoroughness as well as the historical aspects of the house in the beginning of his video. It’s quite astonishing to have a fragrance house last so long and continue to put out dynamite scents. I’d love to own a bottle of the Figue! Cheers!

    Amazing Review Sebastian! The patchouli sounds amazing! I am super intrigued about these houses that have been around from the beginning in and around Grasse. The history of perfumery is so incredibly interesting. I would prefer the patchouli out of the three.
