Mugler Alien Oud Majestueux Review (Dominque Ropion) + Not Just Another Flanker Draw

via Twitter

Recently, Mugler debuted Alien Man, the first of the Alien flankers to specifically target men. Interestingly in 2015, a perfectly gender neutral perfume was released MUGLER Alien Oud Majestueux. I admit this flew under my radar completely, until I smelled it recently.  Some have had difficulty wearing the original Thierry Mugler Alien, the popular pillar fragrance released in 2005, composed by Dominque Ropion and Laurent Bruyère. Dominque Ropion flew solo on Mugler Alien Oud Majestueux, which warms up the original with golden saffron, and the addition of oud.  The signature notes are there but transformed into an out of this world Oriental.

Sebastian is always sharing fragrances that are new to me! Love watching his channel! Thank you for the chance at Alien Oud!!

  • I tried this amazing fragrance at “The Bay” here in Canada, and I was so captivated by it, but, unfortunately, they were not selling it anymore the second time I visited to buy it. Thank you Sebastian for bringing this awesome fragrance to peoples attention!

  • I like that Sebastian stressed that the oud in this one is as prominent as the jasmine and agree that the original is a bit to jasmine dominant. I also like that he stressed that the oud makes this version more unisex, verging on masculine. My favorite from the Alien line is Alien Essence Absolue, but I haven’t tried Alien Oud Majestieux yet! I have heard this compared to Al-Khatt from Xerjoff, which I have, and would love to see how the two compare. I’m excited about this giveaway for sure! Thanks to everyone that has made this giveaway possible!

  • Sebastian is a professional – always love his reviews. I really enjoy the jasmine note. In fact, the most beautiful jasmine that I’ve smelled was in Tunisia – just wonderful. I’ve never tried Alien Oud but my favorite Mugler is Kryptomint. Arkansas, USA

  • This is the first time i hear about this perfume , never heard of it before 🙂 Thank you Sebastian for this review, love your chanel. I dont have a favourite from the Alien line but i would love to give this one a try, thanks for the draw.

  • Sebastian’s reviews are always very informative and his passion for fragrances always comes through in his reviews! I love the fact that this is heavy on the oud and that the jasmine is still there. I loved the original and I’m sure that I will love this because I am an oud lover. I have heard so many positive things about this fragrance. Thanks for the draw and I live in the US! 🙂

I liked how Sebastian thoroughly explains the various stages of the fragrance and what notes dominate. I’ve never smelled this before but would love to win the bottle too add to my oud collection.

  • I love angel but not alien so hoping that Alien oud majestuex works for me. I like Oriental and hadn’t heard of this

  • Gabriel Garcia says:

    Hello there
Alien oud? Wow another pleasant review by Sebastian.
Love the idea of a mugler oud.
Thank you for the spotlight review

I Really like Alien and its flankers, so interested in this one!
    Review perfect as usual
    Miami Florida
    Thanks

  • Never have tried this one or any other Aliens so its all very intriguing. That it’s unisex has me very interested. Sebastian reviews always deepen the mystery.

  • I love the Alien DNA and was looking for something that’s not too girly and a littler deeper. I think I will have to give this one a try. Thanks for the review!

  • I’ve always wanted to try Oud Majesteux! Big Alien fan and biiiig oud fan over here! 😀
I love how Sebastian describes the jasmine and the oud as co-stars in this Alien flanker, that’s something i’d like to try for sure, because I haven’t and I’m dying to! 😀

  • I’m a big fan of unisex fragrances! I am loving Sebastian’s reviews. Please count me in, USA.

I like that He peaked my interest on yet another Alien flanker. I do not like the original alien but i have like 4 flankers. Its something about the original that i dont like lol

  • I was not familiar with Alien Oud Majestueux, probably because I have never even sampled Alien or Alien Man. I have been following Sebastian’s reviews for about four months, and I have noted that he mentions Alien quite a bit. I truly get inspired watching Sebastian’s videos because he is obviously passionate about notes and scents. I love the science of perfumery also. Truthfully I have never found a perfume reviewer that felt authentic or credible, but Sebastian made a convert of me.☺️ I love the notes of saffron, cardamom and amber, but oud is a newer one for me. This fragrance sounds quite sensual. Please enter me in the giveaway. I reside in Florida, in the US.

  • As always, Sebastian gives a quality review with just enough enthusiasm to make you want to run right out and pick up a bottle. My wife loves the women’s Mugler line and has Alien and Alien Eau Extraordinaire. Both are incredibly lovely on her.

  • Great review, Sebastian! I like how detailed your description was and the way you describe each of the notes. I also enjoy your love of fragrances. It really shows in your videos. I’ve never tried Oud Majesteaux, but I own and enjoy Pure Malt. I’ll have to give Majesteaux a try. Thanks for the draw!

  • fazalcheema says:

From Sebastian review, it looks like it is not as oud heavy as the name would suggest. Alien is amazing and this actually seem more friendly version rather than even butcher version. my favorite from Mugler are Angel Extrait and Pure Havana. I am in US.

  • Would love to see what Mugler does with oud note. I do like a lot from this house, Angel on a woman and Pure Coffee on me to name two. US

  • I didn’t even know this variant existed so that was definitely something new I learned! Sounds delicious…I’d love to try it.

  • I was an angel fan. Alien, not so much. I so enjoyed Sebastian’s video, His descriptions are so detailed and great! Sounds interesting with oud in it. I live in the US>

  • I always love Sebastian’s reviews. I really like his description of it, that it comes off more unisex. I could never wear the original Alien. But this one sounds so great. Love that the white amber and musk really come through in the dry down.
    I live in the USA.

  • notVanilla says:

Yes I recall too Alien being referenced by Sebastian in another review. I need to join his Facebook group to become a more conversant nose. I tend to prefer oils but I am ready to migrate. I can never get enough OUD, jasmine, and prefer unisex fragrances. Born in the USA. Excited to try the entire line now that know where it’s sold. Review had me googling before I finished this entry.

  • Sebastian’s reviews are always great.
I remember when this came out, but have yet to smell it.
Thanks for the opportunity to try for the giveaway!

  • Great review by sebastian ,i love how he can break down a fragrance so well ,and hes honest something i admire about him. this fragrance sounds fantastic a hidden gem ? The notes are some of my fav im sure this will be excellent . Fav alien is alien man,ive only tried two others.

Im in the U.S. thanks for giveaway !

  • Sounds good because oud and jasmine go very well together, but aren’t as common as oud and rose. It’s nice to see a designer try a blend like that. Especially since it’s apparently very jasmine forward. Ive never tried this or the original, though I remember hearing about this version a little while ago.
I’m vaguely familiar with Alien (the original), but havent tried any others. Im in the US, thanks.

  • For starters, i was not familiar with Alien Oud Majestueux although i have tried Alien Man so i figured it might have contain similar dna so i was ecstatic to get my nose on it. I have been following Sebastian’s reviews for a long time and he is my favorite reviewer. I love that his honesty abs the fact that his reviews arent deterred by watching other reviewers. I have had tough time accumulating niche fragrances because im not financially stale enough to afford such fragrances but i have saved up for 3 that are highly appreciated by the masses. I was excited that i could have chance to receive giveaways from his channel to access fragrances i could only dream of getting my nose on. My favorite notes of myrhh, rose, and oud so this fragrance outta definitely for me. This fragrance seems very appealing from the review so please enter me in the giveaway for a chance to own a bottle. I reside in California, in the US. Thank you for the opportunity.

I always like Sebastian’s reviews as they are concise and informative. I’m not familiar with the Alien line, but this sounds most interesting. I’d love to try it. Thanks for the draw. I’m in the US

  • I read about Alien Oud Majestueux when I was looking up oud fragrances, but I never got a chance to sample the fragrance. I loved that Sebastian reviewed it, his reviews are always honest and thorough as he described the Jasmine, Oud, Musk and amber notes, I got the since that it would be lovely to wear for someone like me who doesn’t like overwhelming scents! I am glad to hear that it may be easier to wear than the original Alien which, I love others but not so much on me! My fave scent from Thierry Mugler is Angel Sucree!

  • Would like to try this. Thanks for the giveaway and I enjoyed this article.
Always enjoy Sebastian’s reviews as well. Looking forward
    U.S

  • Thanks for the giveaway as always guys. I liked that Sebastian used the phrase “butches up” when describing the genderization of the fragrance by the oud. Great Stuff. Haven’t tried this, but I do own Ultra Zest, and I like it. This sounds great for the Autumn. U.S.

  • Catanosmia says:

I love Alien but I missed this flanker. Thanks for going back to this one and giving it such a great review! I like the idea of a more oriental Alien. Thanks for the review and the draw. I’m in the US.
