10 Best Winter Perfumes 2023 + Part 1 Resin Weather Giveaway

Best Winter perfumes 2023

 10 Best Winter Perfumes 2023 @redolesssence

The weather is getting colder, so it’s time to change up your fragrance game. We recommend perfumes that are deeper, resinous, spicy and smoky with incense during the winter and in an EDP or Parfum concentration, since skin is often drier this time of the year. Days are short and nights are long, so it’s the perfect season to cozy up with a wonderfully warming fragrance. Here are the first five fragrant favorites in ÇaFleureBon’s 10 Best Winter Perfumes 2023, co-curated by Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief and Video Content Creator Steven Gavrielatos.

Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee (Bertrand Duchaufour) 2011: Neela Vermeire Creations is an independent brand headed by the visionary Creative Director Neela Vermeire, who grew up in India. Trayee, whose Sanskrit name refers to the first three Vedas (the oldest, most sacred books of India), is one of the most multifaceted fragrances I own, and is a CaFleureBon Modern Masterpiece (as editor Ermano Picco once wrote, “It is the Shalimar of Sandalwood“). Perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour uses a high percentage of natural ingredients: cardamom, clove, elemi and ginger that float in a spicy cloud. Creamy  jasmine blossoms dipped in golden amber swirl around Laotian oud. At once complex, contemplative and comforting I have loved Trayee since 2011, and it was makes our 10 Best Winter Perfumes 2023, twelve years after its debut-Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

Carner Barcelona Megalium Rodrigo Flores-Roux (2018): Steven compared Carner Barcelona Megalium to Neela Vermeire Trayee, but it is very different to my nose and  performs very differently on my skin; cinnamon (Cassia) not incense is the star. Interestingly, it is based on an actual perfume named Megalium (or Megaleion in Greek) which was already a classic scent in 420 B.C. Rodrigo Flores Roux has created a blend of spices, resins, fruit and flowers, rich and resinous, that does indeed smell ancient, as if it was created thousands of years ago.-Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

Tom Ford Private Label Vert d’Encens is a festive expression of pine resin and incense. Olivier Gillotin is the perfumer, and he has cleverly blended pine with fir balsam to create a rich verdant accord. Incense and woody notes ground the fragrance, and the richness of the pine immediately puts us in the mindset of winter!-Steven Gavrielatos, Video Editor

MATIERE PREMIERE Encens Suave (Aurélien Guichard) 2019: Each fragrance in MATIERE PREMIERE’S collection highlights an exceptional natural ingredient, interpreted by Master Perfumer Aurelien Guichard, the nose and founder of the brand. With Encens Suave it is Resin Incense from Somalia and it was Aurelien’s goal to create a “black incense, addictive and carnal.” For me, this is one of the most fascinating twists on incense perfumes I have smelled in some time, as it seamlessly blends an ingredient used in fragrance for millennia with vanilla, benzoin and the very specific aroma of dark roasted Arabica coffee beans. The kick of coffee with the lactonic creaminess of vanilla will instantly transport you to Cafe de la Mairie, a small café across the street from the grand St. Sulpiece Church, one of the majestic churches of Paris-Michelyn Camen, Editor- in-Chief

Intito Parfums Prive Paragon (2022): If you live in a more temperate climate or want a fragrance that transitions from fall into winter, we highly recommend the spicy, woody, resinous and slightly smoky Paragon. It is one of our personal favorites from the brand  and is new this year. A stellar plum accord wraps around a whisper of incense and is a beautiful counterpoint to the contemplative effect of palo santo.-Michelyn Camen, Editor and Chief

All of Steven’s and Michelyn’s 10 Best Winter Perfumes 2023 Part I have exceptional longevity and sillage.

  • Michelyn reminds the readers that Mateire Premiere collection focuses on individual natural ingredients and Encens Suave focuses on Somalian incense but also has gourmandy elements with the inclusion of coffee and vanilla. Steven seems really impressed by Vert d’Encens which also focuses on incense and adds piney note to give it a meditative feel, in Steven’s opinion.

My choices are Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee and MATEIRE PREMIERE Encens Suave. I am in US.

  • LATONYA GIPSON-BOWMAN says:

Great review Steven and the review from Michelyn as well. I would love to try Paragon the description of going from fall into winter is right up my alley

  • Thanks in advance to all the perfumers, the Cafleurebon team for always provide great reviews, recommendations, and giveaways to the community.
Steven videos are always a complement to the reviews posted in here. His way to explain and describes a fragrance helps you decide what suits you.

I would like to try Initio Parfums Paragon, that would be a perfect choice for a work, and temperature control environment.

Happy holidays to all, and thank you again Cafleurebon.

    Be well, from Massachusetts

  • Thank you for doing this amazing giveaway. Steven’s descriptions are so vivid, but also right to the point! It’s great. And both him and Michelyn manage to get me really excited about brands and scents that are under the radar and I have often not even heard about.

This time, I got really excited about Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee,
I’m a huge Bertrand Duchafor fan and hadn’t even heard of this perfume before watching the video. So naturally I got very giddy.

    Also MATIERE PREMIERE Encens Suave
because of how Steven described it as meditative. Always looking for an amazing introspective scent. Especially in the cold months. And that coffee note sounds so special in it.

And finally, I would love to try that Tom Ford Vert d’Encens! I actually don’t own any Tom Ford perfumes, but have wanted to for a while now. And I always love an overlooked gem, so it sounds right up my alley!

Anyway, thank you for this lovely giveaway and your lovely work for the perfume community and much love and success into the new year!

    I’m located in California, USA.

  • ramsesperez52 says:

I love Initio and I am dying to try Paragon. The plum accord sounds very enticing to me and Initio always delivers when it comes to sillage/duration. I’m located in NJ and like Michelyn mentioned it’s a fragrance that transitions from Fall to Winter, I’m experiencing that right now. Steven mentioned Paragon being part of the Hedonist collection which I always forget about with Initio. We cannot forget also that Paragon has Palo Santo which happens to be very popular nowadays.

I would love to have Initio Parfums Paragon.

  • Really all of this fragrances very attractive and will be excellent for winter 2023 season
Wonderful selection by Steven and Michelin
But I get intriguing when I read this
” A stellar plum accord wraps around a whisper of incense and is a beautiful counterpoint to the contemplative effect of palo santo. Paragon is at once, fruity, resiny, spicy, and easy-to-wear.-Michelyn Camen, Editor and Chief. I think this perfum most interesting to me .I’m in USA, thank you for your giveaway Cafleurebon

  • FragranceIsMe says:

I thoroughly enjoy the “well rounded” review of fragrances presented when it’s the Redolessence/Michelyn combo knock-out punch. The detail has allowed me to get so much olfactive, historical, and inspirational information that fully enhances my experience, once I am able to get these creations under my nose. Thank you both for the wonderful journeys I get to embark upon 🙂
My choices of fragrance are Initio Parfums Paragon or Matiere Premiere Encens Suave. I live in the US.

  • I am interested in Encens Suave. I like that Steven described it as less sweet and more dark while Michelyn’s talked about the perfumer wanting to create an addictive and carnal variation of incense. I never would have thought about the combination of incense and coffee together, very intriguing. Good luck to all and thank you Cafleurebon!

  • Steven’s video are always fun to watch and very informative. Based on his review Trayee for the cardamon and megalium for its spices/cinnamon seems more close to my taste. On the other hand Michelyn’s points were very informative i had no idea that megalium is based on the greek word ‘μεγαλείο’ (yes im Greek). That definitely makes me want to smell that. But since i can’t pick this one i would go for Trayee. Why not ‘it is the shalimar of sandalwood ‘ anyway. Encens suave would be my second pick. I live in EU

  • I love Tom Ford’s fragrances – I feel like Vert d’Encens is one that I see less often and I haven’t sampled it before. Pine is an interesting note that I don’t have a lot of experience with but I am trying to expand my current repertoire so I’ll have to track this one down next time I’m in the city.

Matière Première seems like a real trendy front-runner in the industry lately. I’ve been seeing it heavily merchandised and promoted in boutiques both in the US and Europe. i LOVED radical rose but it felt a bit too feminine for me. Encens Suave sounds right up my alley! Something about this brand just does it for me and Steven’s description has me sold. I must try!
My choice is def Matière Première Encens Suave. thanks for the consideration! I am in the US.

  • Michelle Tsuchiya says:

Hello, I am a perfume lover. I am looking forward to trying the perfumes you mentioned in this video. I really hope I win this giveaway because I will cherish these perfumes like nobody’s business. Thank you for your videos and knowledge.

  • I would absolutely love to try Neela Vermeire’s Trayee. The fragrances’s description of its notes of cardamom, clove, and amber sounds incredibly balmy and resinous and a perfect winter time fragrance. Both Michelyn and Steven compliment this sentiment. I am in Connecticut. Thank you all for your generous giveaways at Cafleurebon. Happy holidays to all!

  • Each of the fragrances in MATIERE PREMIERE’S collection highlight an exceptional natural ingredient, which has many olfactive facets. Here it is Resin Incense from Somalia. Aurlien’s idea was to create a “black incense, addictive and carnal. For me this is one of the most fascinating incense perfumes I have smelled in some time, as it seamlessly blends an ingredient used in perfume for millennia with vanilla, benzoin and the very specific aroma of Arabica coffee beans. The kick of coffee with the lactonic creaminess of vanilla will instantly transport you to Cafe de la Mairie, a small cafe across the street from the grand St. Sulpiece Church, one of the majestic churches of Paris-. I would like to win MATIERE PREMIERE Encens Suave because I would love to go the café in Paris OR Trayee by NVC because I love her Ashoka. From Steven’s video I really enjoyed his knowledge and enthusiasm. I probably need to get a decant of Tom Ford Vert D’Encens. I bought Paragon a few weeks ago and agree it’s fantastic
    USA

  • I love Michelyns and Stevens reviews not just in these fragrances, but all of them. I’m fairly new into the fragrance game and have already bought a decent amount of smells. They just make purchasing certain things so easier by how thorough they are with explaining the notes and how they progress or decline as time goes by. One of the main fragrances that is in my list for a winter scent is this Initio Paragon! Haven’t gotten to buy it yet because other scents are more on my eye esp the new Raised Spirits!! Also the Tom Ford would be a nice addition to the collection. My lady really enjoys Tom Ford. Keep doing what you’re doing guys because you’re definitely making it easy to understand the breakdowns through the videos and making it easy to decipher which ones to choose from whether low end or high end. Much love!

  • Juan Lagares says:

I truly enjoyed watching Steven & Michelyn’s video. Winter is such a special time to wear fragrance!
Should i win the draw, i would love to get a bottle of either Intio Parfums Paragon or Matiere Premiere’s Encense Suave, they both sound fantastic highlighting resins. I am in the U.S.

  • Michelyn & Steven!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Love Love your list!!! These fragrances are so perfect for winter! ❤️❤️ Vert d’Encens is such a sophisticated take on the holidays! The dark warmth of Encens Suave is glorious in cold weather! Neela Vermeire’s work shines in the cold! All of your picks are a level up! ❤️❤️❤️ I’d be so lucky to win any of them!!! What a wonderful opportunity! USA ❤️

  • I am in for the Neela Vermeire perfume please. I don’t know this house yet, but it has always intrigued me. A mystical blend of ancient orient and modern occident. Thanks
    Europe

  • Great review Steven and Michelyn. Love your Choice’s for Winter. Initio Perfumes Paragon sounds wonderful the plum note. Thank you for this Chance USA

  • Diego luzzi says:

I really love @redolessence reviews and i would be very happy to have paragon, I’m from Orlando, Fl.

  • Excellent choices for winter. Michelyn’s review is excellent. I am interested in encens suave and Michelyn said: “this is one of the most fascinating twists on incense perfumes I have smelled in some time, as it seamlessly blends an ingredient used in fragrance for millennia with vanilla, benzoin and the very specific aroma of roasted Arabica coffee beans.” Steven described it as unconventional coffee touch that is less sweet and darker concoction. That sounds fascinating. The rest of the items are also excellent for winter. Megalium which is spices, resins, fruit and flowers, rich and resinous. Tom Ford is expression of pine resin and incense and sounds incredible.

I would love to try Encens Suave

    USA

  • If I had to choose I would chose the MATIERE PREMIERE Encens Suave or the Initio Paragon.
I love your site and try to watch all the YouTube videos.
Keep up the good work and creative reviews.
    Oklahoma USA

  • I recently have been on the lookout for some warm, cozy, and spicy perfumes to get into. Through the Redolessence channel I definitely have been looking into some options like Sacred from Louis Cardin. Yet, this article and the Redolessence channel have taught me more about incense fragrances… I might just check Megalium out!

Mateire Premiere and Initio Parfums are my choice.
    Thank you for this opportunity!
Wishing you a warm winter from New Jersey

  • Always been a fan of Vert d’Encens with its crystalline green demeanor. Like the buttoned-down grandson of Sheldrake’s hardened and rural Fille en Aiguilles. Verdant is certainly the word! I just got to know Encens Suave this year too. Wish I could experience the cafe that Michelyn mentions. It sounds lovely. Haven’t tried Paragon yet, but Steven’s original review made it sound uniquely versatile with considerably more lift than most heavy plum fragrances. That spirituality that he mentions here is what intriques me the most. There are non-palo-santo woody-incense fragrances out there that sometimes have that effect on me, so it certainly would be interesting to experience. Paragon would be my choice. But I confess my curiosity for sampling what an “ancient” fragrance would smell like in Megalium. Rodrigo still one of my favourite perfumers of all time. An eclectic selection of resinous goodies! From Canada.

  • I haven’t tried any of these perfumes reviewed here, and yet Michelyn and Steven are able to paint such vivid, intriguing pictures of each one’s scent I feel as if I’m smelling it in the distance. I’m most interested by Michelyn’s review of Trayee. A ‘golden amber swirl around Laotian oud’ with jasmine and resins sounds incredible! The warming notes Steven mentions in his review also sound perfect for the cold winter weather.

Trayee would be my choice if I won the draw. Best wishes from the US!

  • ianbradleyandrews says:

I love the way michelyn describes the wood in the initio. Stevens reviews are always so thorough. I appreciate them both. I’d love to win the initio. I live in Indiana

  • Ashley Bissett says:

What a fabulous list of fragrances for the upcoming season, Steven. Great content, as always! I am taken by Vert d’Encens on this occassion: as you say it’s one of the best creations in the private line, it must be worth a punt.

  • Ah this is my kind of a list. I adore incense fragrances! From those where incense play a supporting role to full blown churchy incense with little else around. I really like your choices. I’ve tried Encens Suave and I really like it. I also own Megalium and to my nose it smells identical to cinnamon bark, so very woody and with a small but very noticeable cinnamon smell. Not a hint of sweetness or anything gourmand in it. I did not know it was made to smell like a fragrance rom 402BC! That is just so interesting and makes me love it even more. The one that interests me the most both from Steven’s description and Michelin’s is for sure Trayee. Incense with cinnamon and resins sounds amazing. Steven does not say much more about it, but when Michelyn says it’s one of the most multifaceted fragrances she owns that is enough for me to know Trayee is the fragrance I would pick for the giveaway. And in case you do not pick me…Neela Vermiere is going to the top of my sampling wishlist. I’m from Illinois, US.

  • I enjoyed Steven’s video and his great descriptions of each fragrance as usual. I particularly enjoyed how he discussed the fragrances containing similar notes like incense but how they go in different directions be it more smokey, piney, amber-y, spicy, etc. Michelyn’s descriptions, as always were wonderfully vivid as well. I particularly enjoyed how she explained Megalium being very different to her nose than Steven’s, as well as the history behind the scent and its ancient roots. Of these perfumes I’ve only tried Encens Suave and very much enjoyed it. If I was to win my choice would be Matiere Premiere Encens Suave. Thanks for the generous draw, from CT USA.

  • Another great collaboration and list from Steven and Michelyn. I love incense fragrances, and all of these sound lovely. I would love to win anyone of these, especially Intito Parfums Prive Paragon. Houston Tx

  • If it wasn’t for the written portion I’d not have known of Paragon. From the video I learned Encens Suave was an incense-y perfume with a coffee note. For the draw I choose Trayee. US

  • I enjoyed Steven’s enthusiasm and how he described Paragon. I also very much enjoyed Michelyn’s precise summaries of each of the fragrances! I would love to win Paragon!
    Thank you from Canada!

  • I was immensely excited reading Michelyn’s thoughts on ENCENS SUAVE, maybe because it has been 2 years since this perfume has a special place in my wishlist, so every word that Michelyn wrote really touched my heart with warmness as I adore all of Matiere Premiere house’s creations. Aurelien Guichard is a true master perfumer of 7th generation – everything he creates is minimalistic yet unique, simple and deep at the same time. Masterpiece!

Steven’s review on Vert d’Encens made me really intrigued as I am yet to try it. As I am a lover of gourmand perfumes with great touch of smokiness, scents with deep spiritual soul. What can I say, great choices for this season!

I wish my dream to come true – Encens Suave, would you be mine? 🙂

    Lithuania, Europe.

  • Your content is extremely detailed and interesting on colognes that I have never heard of. I have always wanted to try an Initio. Now you definitely have me intrigued about Materie Premiere (the vanilla and coffee)! I’d love to win those please.

  • Jacob D Savitt says:

Both Michelyn and Steven capture the longevity and deepness and richness of these fragrances and that’s what captivates me so much.

    From NJ, USA

  • Paragon & Trayee Both Intrigue Me Greatly.
Thank you all for expaining them in such great detail.
    I’m in Tennessee.

  • The weather is already freezing cold here , and indeed deeper, resinous, spicy and smoky could cheer me up.
When I think of Neela Vermeire , one of the most famous quotes in storytelling comes to mind
“Work for a cause, not for applause. Live life to express, not to impress. Don’t strive to make your presence noticed, just make your absence felt.”

I discovered the brand because of last year celebration giveaway, and ordered the sample set. Special fragrances and I respect Neela Vermeire calculated decision , not to look for investors, so she can keep control of the brand, admirable! Trayee I believe is mix of vanilla, cola , ice cream float and a lot of spices
Carner Barcelona Megalium ,Rodrigo Flores-Roux is one of my favorite noses , cinnamon or incense could both be stars
Tom Ford Private Label Vert d’Encens is no longer available
“With Encens Suave it is Resin Incense from Somalia and it was Aurlien’s goal to create a “black incense, addictive and carnal.”
Wait a minute , Matiere Premiere Encens Suave I’ve smelled , high end gourmand with leather is how it develops on me.
Initio Parfums Paragon shares some similarities with the other two Hedonist fragrances. I agree with Michelyn review .
    I’d love to win Trayee
Cheers with Bourbon Sour With Honey-Plum Syrup , and thank you for the opportunity
    USA

  • For this review the pairing of Steven’s video with Michelyn’s writing brought the perfect balance of history, data, and feeling. The notes are important and so is the feeling it gives. I know it may seem greedy but as I have none of these blends I would love to win all three! I am already a fan of Neela Vermeire Creations’s Anoshka and Initio’s Musk Therapy. And I love an incense fragrance! I would treasure all three. Thank you for the opportunity.
    From California.

  • Both Michelyn and Steven did an excellent job at describing all the fragrances. Both reviews introduced new information about the fragrances to me and only elevated my curiosity in all 5 of them. I’m in the USA and would love to win all three.
•As a sandalwood lover, “The Shalimar of Sandalwood” immediately caught my attention when describing Trayee.
•Being located in Texas, Paragon would be the perfect fragrance for the warmer fall/winter days we have here!
•And the nostalgic incense note in Ensens Suave sounds like it would transport me back to relaxing and burning incense in my old apartment mixed with the coffee note. Perfect mix!
    -Texas, USA

  • Encens Suave sounds like the perfect & ultimate resin-centered perfume for me. Coffee, vanilla and labdanum, besides the obvious incense, makes this one a potential signature worthy fragrance.
I am in the EU. Thank you

  • Nikolina_84 says:

Oh, I just love this type of perfumes!
Based on Michelyn’s and Steven’s reviews, I’d like to try TRAYEE as they find it to be a masterpiece – spicy, complex, creamy, contemplative and comforting. Everything I want in a perfume!
    I’d like to try TRAYEE.
    Hugs from Croatia, EU.

  • I am curious about Trayee and Neela’s other creations as well. What really did it for me was the association of Trayee as being the Shalimar of sandalwood. Really intrigued to be honest. Shalimar is such a classic and a reference perfume. I wonder how Trayee stands when it comes to sandalwood. Thank you for everything! Europe

  • Intito Parfums Prive Paragon seems very interesting & I must get a sample to see. Great article!

  • I want to thank everyone who was involved in the making of this giveaway, these are pretty expensive fragrances and I appreciate that we get a chance to have one for free!

According to Steven’s description, Encens Suave sounds absolutely delicious and I would love to get my hands on it, therefore it’s what I choose 🙂

    I live in EU

  • contemplative and comforting I have loved Trayee since 2011, and it was makes our 10 Best Winter Perfumes 2023, twelve years after its debut-Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief I am intrigued by the notes and the fact that Steven and Michelyn consider this to be a masterpiece just adds to the allure and mystery of this fragrance. Thanks a million from the UK

  • is one of the most multifaceted fragrances I own, and is a CaFleureBon Modern Masterpiece (as editor Ermano Picco once wrote, It is the Shalimar of Sandalwood“). Perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour uses a high percentage of natural ingredients: cardamom, clove, elemi and ginger that float in a spicy cloud. Creamy jasmine blossoms dipped in golden amber swirl around Laotian oud. At once complex, contemplative and comforting I have loved Trayee since 2011, and it was makes our 10 Best Winter Perfumes 2023, twelve years after its debut-Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief. Trayee has been on my wishlist for a while I am fascinated by the notes especially the perfumer. Thanks a lot from the United Kingdom

  • Thanks for the recommendations, they all seem to be very appropriate for this season. From the ones I know, Vert d’Encens is my favorite and I regret not buying a bottle when I had a change, now it seems to be discontinued.
For the draw, I would be happy with either Trayee and Encens Suave.
    I’m in the EU.

  • I love how Michelyn gives either a bit more of a general presentation about the perfumes in her introduction, or relates very closely to Steven’s experience, in order to describe her own, while Steven is always very technical in the description of notes and comparing the perfumes to others, that are perhaps known to more people.
I would love to win Encens Suave, which sounds absolutely fantastic (coffee and vanilla which don’t go too gourmand, but darker..wow!) or Neela Vermeire Trayee. It sounds like a very spiritual perfume, with a lot of comforting and grounding notes.
    I live in the EU.
    Thanks!

  • Even though most of the times I don’t share the same taste in fragrance as Steven (mine are more likely to michelyn one) I really enjoy encens sauve and I would love to try trayee as my fragrance of choice.
    Greetings from Italy, Milano

  • I find it so interesting how a lot of these perfumes associate incense notes with fall/winter. I was brought up catholic so this evokes memories of Christmas church services. From all the perfumes listed, I’d love to try Matiere Premiere’s Encens Suave the most. I’ve never tried any other perfume from the brand but Michelyn’s description of the fragrance’s properties to transport you to a Parisian church plus the coffee and creamy notes listed by both Michelyn and Steven makes it feel like the perfect scent to wear for the cold nostalgic walks in my hometown.
I have an address in Spain (EU) for participating in the draw.

  • I loved almost every Initio Parfums I had the opportunity to smell. Paragon is no different. I would love to win Initio Parfums Paragon. I watched Steven’s review last night and thought he had some solid picks. Michelyn’s statement, “spicy, woody, resinous and slightly smoky Paragon,” sounds like I’d love it long term. New Jersey, USA.

  • Paragon is so tempting and would love to get it. Thanks Steven for all the info and great knowledge about the niche fragrances.. I learned a lot from your vlog about the niche perfumes. Thanks again.

  • ScentedKnits says:

Trayee has been on my list to try for some time and I would love the opportunity. I am a huge fan of the Neela Vermiere line. I live in the US.

  • Spicy, resinous, smoky incense fragrances are made for cold winter days. I appreciate Michelyn’s description of Trayee as her much loved multi-faceted perfume. I have a sample of Trayee and I agree! It’s a beautifully blended incense scent. Steven has a way of succinctly getting to the essence of a fragrance in his reviews. I’m eligible for all three, so I would be delighted to have any of the three (in order): Neela Vermiere Trayee, Inito Parfums Paragon, Matiere Premiere Encens Suave. MD, USA

  • wandering_nose says:

What a captivating set of winter perfume offerings! Michelyn’s descriptions are preciously informative in terms of the perfumers, the origin of the names for the perfumes, and setting the context for associations. I also appreciate Steven’s comprehensive review – love how there is a common thread among the perfumes – the ambery aspect, accompanied by resins, incense, coffee and spices. I am particularly intrigued by Trayee, Encens Suave and Paragon. My pick would be Encens Suave – the black incense, vanilla, benzoin and roasted coffee would put me in an exalted state with every wearing. Thank you from the EU

  • I enjoyed reading Michelyn’s comments about resins and winter perfumes. Incense and chocolate fragrances sound perfect during these colder months. Steven mentioned in pine and smoke notes in Vert d’Encens. On my wishlist it goes. If lucky, I’d choose Trayee, Encens Suave or Paragon. Mich USA

  • Thanks for the review! I loved both your’s and steven’s; your mention of the plum note in intitio was really intriguing, and I thought steven going over the inspiration for the name Paragon was cool: its always nice to see what name the perfumer or art director thought would encapsulate the fragrence!

I live in Boston, US and if I win I would love either Encens Suave or Initio Paragon!

Thanks again for the great review!

  • Vert d’Encens is so good. Too bad it is discontinued now. Green and incense is such a rare combination. Steven’s description of it being mediative is apt.

I will have to experience Encens Suave again to get the coffee note that Michelyn mentions.

I’m interested in winning the Initio Paragon.

    From Canada.

  • Taleofarose says:

I agree with both Michelyn and Steven, this is the time of year to wear a spicy, smoky, gourmand with perfume. I am familiar with most of MATIERE PREMIERE’S perfumes and love them all.
I would like to win (and wear) either Encens Suave or Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee.

    I live in Portugal/EU

    Happy holidays!

  • Wow, great new top 10!!! Loved both Steven and Michelyn contributes.
From Steven’s, I completely agree on Encens Suave, an amazing sweet incense with a lovely coffee.
Michelyn’s review has spark my interest on Initio paragone, which I have never tried!
I would like to enter for Matiere Premiere Encens Suave and Neela Vermeire Trayee.
    Riccardo Italy, EU

  • Great reviews! I love the details in Michelyn’s descriptions and I enjoy how enthusiastically Steven talks about Paragon. This was exactly how I felt when tried Paragon for the first time.
I would like to win Trayee.
    Lithuania, EU.

I am certainly looking forward to part two of the review! I am intrigued by the use of spice and now have a few more things to try!

Initio’s Paragon and Encens Suave have piqued my interest.

  • Great picks, my choice would be Trayee by Neela Vermeer. Anything that has remained a favorite of Michelyn’s for 12 years must be special! I also liked how Steven described it as spices with incense that brings warmth. Duchafour is a master! Thank you for the opportunity. In US

  • Great in-depth reviews by Michelyn and Steven, which the vividness really helped me to visualize and imagine the scents. I’ve seemed to have seen Paragon everywhere online but really haven’t dived into the notes, but Michelyn’s description has me intrigued and I would love to try it.
My choices are Initio Parfums Paragon and Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee.
    Best of holidays,
    From the US.

  • Interesting selections! I am mostly intrigued by Encens Suave from Matiere Premiere, because I feel that I am the only one who has not tested anything from this house haha.
    I am in Europe. Thanks.

  • I want to win 60 ml bottle of Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee and MATEIRE PREMIERE for 50 ml of Encens Suave. I love how She described different cinnamon accords on her skin. I love how Steven presents each creation with unique approach. Im from eu

  • I love winter because I can use most of the fragrance I adore and are so strong that I can not use in any other season.
I love the selection both Michelyn and Steven created, they are everything a person could need in winter. My favorite from Michelyns choise is Matiere Premiere Insence Suave.
I would love to win Initio Parfums Paragon but would be so happy to win any of the giveaway.

Hello Steven and Cafleurebon and Michelyn. Outstanding Fragrances and thanks for your generosity. INITIO PRIVE PARAGON AND ENCENS SUAVE ARE THE FRAGRANCES I WOULD CHOOSE. STAY SAFE

  • Loved the video and the written article. encens suave sounds epic. Never heard of COFFEE and incense

  • My choices are: a 60 ml bottle of Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee and MATEIRE PREMIERE Encens Suave. I thought that Michelyn’s review was very detailed and it was a deep dive into the subject. I also thought that Steven’s review was absolutely professional and I really enjoyed it. I live in Trzebnica, Poland, EU.

  • I like complex resinous fragrances in winter. The spice, incense and woods seem to act like an olfactory space heater when I wear them. I like Michelyn’s suggestion to wear a more concentrated version of the scent because of drier skin and air. I also like to layer with scented cream when possible or some unscented cream so the fragrance sticks better. I also enjoy Steven’s thorough reviews. I would be delighted with Neela Vermeire Trayee, Encens Suave or Initio Paragon. In US.

  • From both Michelyn and Steven’s reviews I’m most intrigued by Neela Vermiere’s Trayee and Initio Paragon. Regarding the first, Bertrand Duchaufour is also one of my favorite perfumers, ever since he did Nuit Tubereuse for L’Artisan Parfumeur. Trayee sounds incredibly complex, and since CaFleureBon called it a Modern Masterpiece, I’ve got to try this!
Initio, on the other hand, is one of my favorite houses. I’ve sampled many and loved everything I’ve tried, especially from the Hedonist collection. If Steven and Michelyn recommend it, then it must be good! I also have a stressful journalism job and need more contemplative fragrances in my collection.
My mailing address is in Connecticut. Thank you for your great reviews… looking forward to Part 2!

  • Great picks! I just love cold weather!!!! Everything is more sophisticated and beautiful!!!! I adore deep, sensual and dark fragrances!!!! I’m dying to smell Paragon from Initio! It seems very delicious! Encens suave’s notes are amazing incense, vanilla and coffee!!!!
I’m always trying to discover new houses and fragrances!!!!
    I’m from Massachusetts, US.

  • Thank you both for putting this list together! Winter fragrances are my favourite. Michelyn, I found it really interesting to read about how your experience of Megalium differs from Stevens. Steven, I had an “aha!” Moment when you were talking about Bertrand Duchaufour being the common factor amongst a few of those perfumes.

If I win, I would choose Trayee (I am eligible for Trayee and Encense Sauve). Thank you for the giveaway, writing from the EU.

  • Michelyn has talked deeply about Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee, which I have never tried before…very interesting.
Steven was very thorough about Tom Ford Encens Vert, a perfume that I adore.
    Thank You CaFleureBon.
I would like to enter for Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee and Encens Suave from Matiere Premiere.
    Claudia, EU

  • As usual enjoyed Steven’s and Michelyn’s reviews because they both describe the scents so vividly that I know exactly what to expect from them.
    My choice would be Trayee.
    EU

  • Amazing reviews as always, i loved the decription of Trayree in perticular and Megalium in and the different opinions of Steven’ and Michelyn’s about Megalium.
My choises are Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee and MATEIRE PREMIERE Encens Suave, i line in Greece,EU

  • I truly enjoy reading your reviews along with Steven’s.. They really bring to life how the fragrances will potentially smell. I am from Champaign, Illinois and I would love to own Neela Vermeire or Encens. They sound exquisite!

  • Great reviews from Michelyn and Steven both. I can confidently say that Steven is the most reliable and well-spoken fragrance youtuber out there. Should I win, my choices would be Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee and Matiere Premiere Encens Suave. A huge thank you to everybody involved in putting together this giveaway.

    I live in the EU.

  • I really like the idea and direction of Matiere Premiere and Aurelien Guichard, the master perfumer. Therefore, I’d love to win a bottle of Encens Suave. I would also be blessed to win a bottle of Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee. Thank you so much for this oppurtunity!

I live in Sweden, EU 🙂

  • The picks for part 1 of this giveaway were awesome, I’m struggling to see how these choices can be beat, but I know that you will manage somehow 😉 Short and concise mini-reviews by Michelyn, while Steven described more in-depth.

    Writing from the EU.

  • I loved these less conventional choices for winter perfumes! Both Michelyn and Steven had great descriptions of the spiciness and incense in all the perfumes, which are qualities I really crave in the colder weather. I’m in the USA and love to win any of the three, but my order of preference is Encens Suave, Paragon, and Trayee. Thank you for the opportunity!

  • I love, love, love incense so these offerings all sound great to me!
Michelyn’s thoughts on Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee have me intrigued. Knowing it is still finding its way onto top lists such as this a decade after its release means it has to be powerhouse of a fragrance. Her description of the warm spices, oud, and sandalwood together make it sound delectable and Steven points out that this spicy warmth perfect for the cold weather.

Regarding Initio Paragon, Michelyn calling it one of the very best of the house so quickly after its release definitely makes me want to get my nose on it. That plum accord sounds great, especially combined with a “whisper of incense”. Steven’s description of it as a metaphysical experience – well, who wouldn’t want to try a fragrance like that!?

Lastly, I loved seeing Michelyn talk about how Mateire Premiere’s philosophy is to focus on specific notes in perfumery and that Encens Suave takes the note in fascinating direction by putting a coffee shop spin on it. Steven’s comments on this one assured me that it isn’t your run of the mill incense and won’t leave you smelling like everyone else.

If I were to win, my selections – in order of preference – would be: Initio Paragon, Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee, and Mateire Premiere Encens Suave. Reading from North Carolina, USA

  • I would love any one of the three fragrances in the giveaway since I qualify to enter for all three. Steven and Michelyn seem to really enjoy these fragrances whether it calling Trayee a modern masterpiece and Paragon being Michelyn’s personal favorite from Initio. I like how Steven highlighted the amber quality of each one and what made them different from each other based on the vibe and feeling you are going for.
    Greetings from Maryland, US.

  • I love watching Steve on Cafleurebon as there are none of the annoying YouTube ads!!. Don’t know why I haven’t gotten my nose on Trayee yet, it’s popped up so often over the years. I’m so curious about Encens Suave, the sample is in my cart at Luckyscent. I would love to be sitting at Cafe de la Mairie gazing at the church sipping on coffee right now!! Vert d’Encens is lovely, a bit too masculine for my taste, but that pine note really reminded me of holiday times. There’s that Paragon again…need to get myself over to Portland to get a whiff. It is so hard to decide which I would choose, so many nice offerings. I’d have to go with Paragon. Thanks for the chance. USA.

  • Thanks for these recommendations Steven and Michelyn!

Encens Suave is an amazing fragrance and I completely agree with Michelyn about the unique incense blend with vanilla and coffee. I really need to get myself a full bottle soon as it’s a perfect comfort-fragrance now that the air is cold and the nights are long!

Steven’s reviews are always interesting and well produced. The way he explains and describes his recommendations helps me find the perfect fragrances for me in this massive industry with thousand and thousands of new perfumes every year. Thanks!

I would love to win Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee!
    Greetings from the UK!

  • Thank you for doing this amazing giveaway. Always enjoy Michelyn’s short and very informative reviews.
Steven’s descriptions are so colorful! Hard to pick one up from this interesting descriptions, but I think Paragon sounds amazing.
Winter is such a special time to wear fragrance! Mostly like to wear gourmand and oriental perfumes.
I would like to win Paragon Initio.

  • ThatMulattoDude says:

Really enjoyed the details in Michelyn’s write up and Steven’s reviews of these scents. I have a strong affinity for this time of year and the ability to wear darker, warmer, more complex fragrances only adds to that. The accords and notes in Encens Suave sound particularly intriguing as I like a good coffee and incense scent. However, the note of palo santo is something I’ve wanted to try for some time. If I were to win, I’d choose Initio Parfums Privees Paragon. Thank you for the generosity of the giveaway. Many blessings from VA, USA!

  • Paragon sound so good.. I am super interested in Initio. I am from the US
THANKS TO Michelyn and Steven for the great review.

  • It’s quite cold and windy here ,and spicy, resinous and gourmand fragrances are already in my rotation.
☆ After all the positive attention, I decided to buy Neela Vermeire discovery set from Luckyscent. 5 Loves, and one Not for me.
Speaking of Trayee, it is really milky fragrances that smells really similar to Ras Malai , traditional Indian dessert. Lactonic without a doubt, yet spicy and calming. As a long time Pastry Chef, I’m absolutely sure Neela Vermeire told Bertrand Duchaufour to create a fragrance that would smell like Ras Malai.
I find surprising that there was not even a word from Michelyn or Steven about the milky feel
☆ Carner Barcelona Megalium , there’s one Carner Barcelona fragrance that i own, It’s called El Born. Megalium seems like a good resinous and fruity fragrance
☆ Tom Ford Private Label Vert d’Encens i had no idea such fragrance even existed.
☆ I have the pleasure of owning Encens Suave, it smells like I’m eating Tiramisù , with burning incense cons next to me. There are definitely unannounced notes in the fragrance, saffron, patchouli, or rose maybe, and there’s a crunchy feeling too , Michelyn small café in Paris related picture is accurate.
☆ Initio Parfums Prives Paragon in my mind is like making, and later on eating Japanese Ume Cake , while sitting on a wooden bench somewhere in Japanese countryside
I’m not sure what’s my favorite Neela Vermeire Creations Bombay Bling, Mohur Extrait or Trayee , but I’m sure I’ll be happy to win Trayee.
Appreciate Michelyn and Steven reviews, and the giveaway campaign

  • Neela Vermeire is such a beautiful, elegant and rare house ! I would like to win the Trayee perfume, if I had the chance ! I live in France.

  • Nice selection! From Michelyn’s and Steven’s review i’m drawn by Matiere Premiere Encens Suave and the Bertrand Douchafour’s masterpiece Trayee Neela Vermeire Creations! Thanks from EU!

  • What a beautiful descriptions and great giveaway.
I truly enjoyed watching Steven video & Michelyn’s reviews. Especially Taragon sounds very interesting, but would like to test all perfumes, especially Trayee and Encens Suave.

Would love to win either Incense Suave or Neela Vermiere Trayee.

These two are pretty unique in the list. I love the use of the coffee note in Incense Suave. I also like the spices used in Trayee.

I found the mention of Megalium in Michelyn’s review quite fascinating. I will be researching it.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • What a lovely list of perfumes for winter, curated by Michelyn and Steven. I love incense, woody, leather, Oud perfumes, so this is a great list to keep. I liked Michelyn’s introductions especially her background, historical notes and personal impressions of these perfumes. And thank you for a very generous draw it is difficult to choose between Trayee and Paragon as Steven said Michelyn both have given them very high ratings. Were I lucky enough to win this draw, I will go with Initio Paragon, as it is on top of Steven’s list. I liked Steven’s mentions of other incense perfumes, since I am looking to try different incense, dark, earthy perfumes. I am a Redolessence subscriber and am from the USA.

  • Regis Monkton says:

I haven’t tried any of these fragrances, so the reviews from Michelyn and Steven gave me some insight into them. I’m interested to try all of them, especially: “Trayee” because Bertrand Duchaufour is one of my favorite perfumers, and “Encens Suave” because I’m under the impression that I’d truly like it. When Michelyn said (about “Encens Suave”) “For me, this is one of the most fascinating twists on incense perfumes I have smelled in some time”, it increased my intrigue to try it. Also, I became further intrigued to try “Encens Suave” when Steven describes it as darker than sweet. I’d like to be entered for “Encens Suave”, “Trayee”, and “Paragon”. I live in the U.S.A.

  • Steven’s video and Michelyn’s words were very insightful and I totally agree that winter is “the perfect season to cozy up with a wonderfully warming fragrance”.
I would love to win “Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee” or “MATIERE PREMIERE Encens Suave” and I’m from Portugal/EU.

    Thank you!

  • I naturally start reaching for warmer, heavier, spicier scents in the cold weather, but thank you for the reminder about concentration. It hadn’t occurred to me that EDP and Parfums are a better match with dry skin. Michelyn’s thoughts on Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee stood out; in a world of countless fragrances, the ones she’s worn for years must be worth trying, plus I generally love fragrances with a high percentage of natural ingredients. I also liked Michelyn’s description of Rodrigo Flores-Roux as a fragrance that smells “ancient” and I’m intrigued by the combination of “black incense” and cafe notes (Steven says “unconventional coffee touch”) in Encens Suave. Steven described Prive Paragon as spiritual and metaphysical; I’d love to try it and see exactly what he means. Thank you both for the detailed reviews.

I’m in the midwest, USA. I’d love to win Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee, Encens Suave, and Initio Parfums Paragon; if I had to choose one, I’m most interested in Parfums Paragon. Thanks!

  • Both Michelyn’s and Steven’s description of Paragon, specifically the Palo Santo and plum, really piqued my interest. I don’t think I have experienced a fragrance heavily dependant on Palo Santo….eager to try. I live in Pennsylvania, USA. Should I win, I’d like Paragon.

  • I enjoy wearing spicy, smoky, incense fragrances all year round, not just in the Fall or Winter.
    Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee
Top quality ingredients fragrances , created by one of the best perfumers out there Bertrand Duchaufour , disign , anesthetics , positive vibe all combined is certain recipe for success.
Carner Barcelona Megalium , rich, resinous and sophisticated fragrance. I like how Michelyn told us about the ancient story of the scent.
Tom Ford Private Label Vert d’Encens is green, piny and relaxing one.
Matiere Premiere Encens Suave seems addictive, dark and smoky. The coffee and vanilla will add to the complexity of the scent.
Initio Parfums Paragon is modern, multifaceted fragrance with high compliment factor . The citruses, the incense, lavender and the plum are all so appealing to me. The plum will give the fragrance the modern feel i’m looking for, making it more enigmatic.
All Trayee, Encens Suave and Paragon are special. After some 15 minutes of hesitation , the fragrance i’d like to win the most right now is Trayee
    Exciting giveaway, USA

Vert Encens is one of the few Tom Ford perfumes I really loved on the first smell and I agree with Steven it’s an underrated fragrance from that house. Megalion on paper looked like something I’d really vibe with and Carner Barcelona is one of my favorite houses, but unfortunately reacts badly with my skin. Never tried Paragon or Encens Suave but Steven’s description really intrigues me and I might stop by the niche perfumery nearby to try them one of these days. Fragrance that I’m most curious about is Trayee, Michelyn always gives great descriptions and the fact it’s in the top 10 for 12 years makes me excited to try it. Unfortunatelly it’s unavailable where I live so I’ll try ordering some samples.

I’d love to win either Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee or MATIERE PREMIERE Encens Suave.

I’m subscribed to Steven’s channel and like his reviews because it’s straight to the point, no unnecessary talk or extra flashiness. My location is Croatia, EU.

  • I can’t pass by the opportunity to win Trayee. This is one of my favorite fragrances. This fragrance transports me to another world where time flows slower. Bertrand Duchaufour under the direction of Neela Vermeire achieved mastery here. The quality of this fragrance is amazing. I don’t know the other recommended fragrances, but it seems to me that the whole collection looks very solid. Comparing it to Trayee makes me want to take a closer look at Megalium. It is a warm, enveloping fragrance of the kind that I like the most. I am also very interested in Encens Suave. Incense that is carnal and sexy sounds very interesting.
I really like the choice made by Michelyn and Steven. I’m looking forward to the second part.
I’d love to win Trayee or Encens Suave
    I live in Poland, EU.

  • It still feels like late Fall, it’s rainy and muddy ,even now it’s pouring out for the fourth day in a row. Speaking of the 5 co-curated Winter perfumes
Natural smelling amber fragrance, heavy on the cardamom , resins and smoke is what I think of right now , Trayee is festive , and pays homage to India, Neela Vermeire motherland.
Carner Barcelona is a house every fragrance lover should explore. No matter what taste you got, you’ll find pleasing and unique fragrance suited for your needs. The one I found was Ambar Del Sur , and of course the reason was Sebastian and his review for Cafleurebon ~ 3-4 years ago. I wonder if there are some similarities between Megalium and Ambar Del Sur
There’s soothing elements in Vert d’Encens from Tom Ford
I’m not familiar with Encens Suave , but I like sophisticated fragrances, with a lot of depth , and seductive elements.
I own Oud for Greatness , considered by many the best one in Initio Parfums , Paragon fruity-spicy base feels sexy.
Bombay Bling I’m really happy to own, picnic basket of fruits and flowers. I’d like to own one more Neela Vermeire Creations basket, this time with spices and woods , Trayee please
    Thanks for the draw

  • What a gorgeous list of winter fragrances! I’ve never tried any of them. I was happy to read that all of them have incredible longevity.
I would choose either Encens Suave or Prive Paragon.
    I live in the US.
    Happy Holidays!

  • Would love to win Paragon from initio! Always an excellently concise and to the point review from Steven and Michelyn. I’ve found that I enjoy fragrances with a plum accord and I would be excited to try Paragon. I’ve only just relatively recently gotten into Initio as I’ve purchased rehab and side effect. From the US!

I’d for the Trayee first, followed by Initio Prives and then Ences Suave. I’m in the US. I’ve never tried Tom Ford fragrances before and so Steven’s suggestion of Vert d’Encens piqued my interest as it has a lot of my favorite notes and I usually dodge designers. Micheyln’s mention of Trayee using a high percentage of naturals, as well as the fact that Bertrand Duchaufour was the nose behind it is what made it my top pick should I win. I’m in the US.

  • It’s so freezing cold last tow days , I have a feeling I’m a guardian , somewhere in Winterfell , Game of Thrones.
In Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee i like the premium ingredients, dedication of Neela Vermeire herself, all the spices , ginger and the good looking bottle.
Carner Barcelona = El Born. Megalium is cinnamon and incense with ancient origin.
Tom Ford Vert d’Encens is new to me, pine and incense
From Matiere Premiere i only have experience with Oud Seven . In Encens Suave i like the whole metamorphosis , from a bit aggressive darkerer profile , to the appealing vanilla , and coffee .
Initio Parfums Prives Paragon is right up my alley, not overly aggressive, cozy , woody, fruity sweet, with really round up characteristics.
Neela Vermeire Trayee is so vet very classy, and refined. I tend to believe I’m that type of guy, Trayee would be my pick
Thank you Michelyn, Steven and all the sponsors

  • Michelyn makes Trayee sound so rich and opulent in both this review and the modern masterpiece review. Reading them transported me to another world, I can’t imagine what smelling the perfume would be like.
I love that Matiere Premiere makes highlights and makes use of natural materials. I just tried Somalia resin incense in another perfume, Naomi Goodsir Bois D’Ascese and really enjoyed it. Stephen’s review of Vert D’Encens really brought to mind the feel of winter for me. If picked I’d love to win Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee or Matiere Premiere Encens Suave. But especially Trayee. I live in Missouri, USA

  • I’ve heard great things about Initio’s Paragon, but have not had the pleasure to sample it yet. I love Trayee, and have ordered a sample from Luckyscent twice. I have never tried anything from Mateire Premiere as of yet, but based on Steven and Michelyn’s review this sounds amazing! I am open to win any of the three listed. Thank you for the draw! US.

    Greetings everyone
Out of the five brands in Best Winter perfumes Pt1 giveaway, I have smelled all from Initio Parfums Prives, most from Tom Ford , but Neela Vermeire Creations, Carner Barcelona and Matiere Premiere i don’t know yet.
I don’t think i have smelled fragrance related to India, Sanskrit and the three Vedas , it’s s kind of unconventional.
Carner Barcelona Megalium with the cinnamon, Vert d’Encens with the pine resins ,and Encens Suave with the black incense are refined their own right
I’m interested in Trayee because of the Indian connection, higher percentage of natural ingredients , and Ms Camen never ending love for the fragrance
    Thank you

  • I had the blast of not only smelling Neela Vermeire Créations fragrances at Esxence 2018 , but meeting Neela herself. Such a warm and genuine woman.
Esxence is surreal experience for every fragrance lover, it is overwhelming, you just can’t smell everything , it’s not possible.
If I have to rate my favorite Neela Vermeire Créations fragrances:
    1. Mohur Extrait
    2. Bombay Bling
    3. Trayee
Trayee is woody , balsamic, spicy and fruity, no wonder Michelyn is a fan.
I also like to thank Nee6 for not selling the house to massive international corporations, like a lot of other brands did last few years , losing most of their identity and appeal , Tom Ford is the latest example .
Carner Barcelona Megalium, I agree with Michelyn about the Cinnamon, I also perceive rose. I like the
idea of recreating some ancient concoction…
Vert d’Encens by Tom Ford I own , the fragrance is discontinued for close to 2 years now.
Encens Suave, Michelyn is again on point.
Paragon by Initio Parfums Prives, I only wonder why both Michelyn and Steven never mentioned lavender….
    Trayee would be great

What a amazing giveaway. Steven’s descriptions of fragrances i know are always so spot on, i also love that he is quick to get to the point all while giving you a detailed description of the fragrances. I love winter leaning warm and cozy fragrances and Steven and Michelyn always do a great job getting me excited about all these scents that i had never heard about.

The fragrances im most drawn to in this giveaway are Paragon by Initio Parfums and also MATIERE PREMIERE Encens Suave. I am interested in Encens Suave because Michelyn describing it here “For me, this is one of the most fascinating twists on incense perfumes I have smelled in some time, as it seamlessly blends an ingredient used in fragrance for millennia with vanilla, benzoin and the very specific aroma of dark roasted Arabica coffee beans.” Leads me to beleive it is a unique take on the incense not that i adore.

For initio Parfums Paragon the plum, incense and palo santo sound great and i imagine it being a very meditative scent.

Thank you for this Cafleurbon and all the brands for this wonderful giveaway. Happy Holidays!

Lovely article! I thought Michelyn’s review was particularly interesting in how she described Trayee as one of the most multifaceted fragrances she owns. As someone who loves very multifaceted fragrances and since Michelyn has such a wide array and knowledge of fragrances makes me very very eager to try Trayee.

I thought Steven’s review was very interesting with his suggestion of Vert d’Encens a festive expression of pine resin and incense that is not what I would usually think of for a winter fragrance yet totally makes sense. Usually green fragrances are not what I thin of first for winter but the Steven makes the pine resin sound perfectly festive and warm. This is not a Tom Ford I’ve heard of but I definitely want to try it now.

I loved Michelyn’s and Steven’s reviews on the best Winter Resinous Fragrances. I love Steven’s picks. I agree Tom Ford Vert d’Encens is underrated and overshadowed by some of their more popular fragrances. I love Matiere Premiere Encens Suave such a smooth and wearable incense that has a perfect accent of coffee. Megalium seems to come across differently on Michelyn where it’s more of a Cinnamon dominant fragrance where Steven says it’s more incense and resembles Trayee. The fragrance I am most intrigued by is Initio Parfums Prive Paragon. It’s a new release that I haven’t tried with a beautiful plum note that also features incense and palo santo. I am from the USA. I would love to win.
    1. Initio Parfums Paragon
    2. Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee
    3. Matiere Premiere Encens Suave

  • All of those sound lovely for the (upcoming) winter, but most of all I’d love to give Trayee or Encens Suave a try. The latter resonates almost completely with my mood as of late
