Best Tropical Fragrances 2022

Tropical fragrances have the magical ability to transport us to exotic places. With a whiff of a certain scent, we can be taken on a sensational adventure without ever leaving home. Even when you can’t get away spritz on a scented postcard from paradise. Tropical Fragrances bring to mind soft breezes, warm air, exotic destinations and rich white floral fragrances with a deep blue ocean in the background.  The perfect accent for floral aromas is coconut – fruity and buttery with slight touch of nuttiness. We are about to embark on ten trips to paradise, courtesy of Air CaFleureBon and Redolessence-Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

Our 10 Best Tropical Fragrances:

Navitus Aweigh (Jorge Lee) is an aromatic aquatic tropical fragrance inspired by Homer’s Odyssey. Unique and mysterious with yuzu, citrus and incense.  (Creative Director is Steven Gavrielatos). – Steven Gavrielatos  (GIVEAWAY)

CREED Virgin Island Water: Virgin Island Water is a classic: inspired by the smell of sweet, rich, mouth-watering floral and fruit scents that fill the air In the Virgin Islands, where white frangipani hangs from the cliffs, the delicate white blooms surrounded by swaying coconut trees. The opening of fresh lime and juicy bergamot, accompanied by the scent of coconut and rum, creates the sensation of drinking a cocktail by the ocean, even if you are in your backyard swimming pool. Swizzle stick and beach umbrella not included. -Michelyn Camen (NOT FOR GIVEAWAY)

DKNY Be Delicious Coconuts about Summer is a fresh and versatile take on coconut. Its heart of magnolia is the perfect complement to the coconut, and the conclusion of white musk is clean and inviting. This designer coconut fragrance is among the easiest to wear while reminding us of everything we love about being on vacation. -Steven Gavrielatos, Video Content Editor (NOT FOR GIVEAWAY)

Jacques Fath Curacao Bay (Cecile Zarokian): Curacao Bay is a frangipani based tropical perfume but so much more with its underlying seaside qualities. It feels serene and invigorating at the same time with just enough exotic spice to transport you to the Fantasy Island of your choice. In an interview with Mme. Zarokian in 2016 she wrote, “For Curacao Bay it has to be an escapade in the deep blue, I used a natural grey amber infusion to give depth and even more longevity to the marine/iodine notes, to have a fresh and sensual sea breeze from top notes to base notes.”-Michelyn Camen (NOT FOR GIVEAWAY)

Tom Ford Eau De Soleil Blanc (Nathalie Gracia Cetto):This beautiful tropical fragrance smells like the most expensive suntan lotion in the world, but there is nothing Coppertone about Tom Ford’s Eau de Soleil Blanc. Eau de Soleil de Blanc opens with bright citrus that adds solar radiance to the creamy luscious notes of pistachio and coco de mer.  A touch of cardamom adds a little spice to this decadent mix of tuberose, jasmine, and ylang ylang flowers and amber. Tom Ford is always inspired by his own travels and this sexy tropical fragrance is his memory of the island of Comoros, off the Indian Ocean. -Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief (NOT FOR GIVEAWAY)

Mancera Holidays (Pierre Montale) is, as the name implies, ia perfect vacation scent for a tropical getaway! Its notes of coconut and tiare flower evoke a state of relaxation while transporting us to a warm and exotic climate. A dry down of vanilla and white musk is sensual and provocative. Steven Gavrielatos, Video Content Editor (NOT FOR GIVEAWAY) Featured in Steven’s Video Top 10 Mancera Fragrances 2022

Loumari Porthole (Camille Chemardin) is a new 2022  fragrance and an expression of the aquatic genre as it combines a salt accord with ripe pineapple and bergamot. A bed of caramel and modern woods is warm and sensual as you enjoy this fragrance during romantic evenings or cool nights. -Steven Gavrielatos, Video Content Editor (NOT FOR GIVEAWAY)

Kajal Dahab (Rosendo Mateu & Chris Maurice): This is a frankly sensual and intriguing take on a tropical fragrance.  Imagine a tropical fruit that has not been discovered, a cross between a peach, a pineapple,  a mango and a tart granny smith apple. Dahab is a warm spiced blend of woods, passionfruit and amber that floats on a cloud of musk. It wasn’t an apple that tempted Adam, it probably was Eve’s scent and it might smell just like Kajal Dahab. So long lasting it would take them from the Garden of Eden into the wilderness -Michelyn Camen, Editor-in Chief (RIP Rosendo Mateu) (GIVEAWAY)

Strangelove lostinflowers (Christophe Laudamiel):  For me, LostinFlowers is an unforgettable and head-spinning trip inside the famous tropical painting “The Dream”, by Henri Rousseau, where a reclining nude is gazing at a lush landscape of oversized hyper-realistic jungle flowers as wildlife peek through eyes that glow in the moonlight.  Dazzling, hypnotic, and sexy as it gets, LostinFlowers is the sin qua non of white floral perfumes, enhanced by the depth of oud.  I am on my third bottle (Master Perfumer Christophe Laudamiel was my Hall of Fame 2021 recipient). Notes: Indian red champaca oil, lily of the valley, saffron, marigold, gardeniaoud – Michelyn Camen (GIVEAWAY)

Antonio Alessandria Parfums Rusty Vibes (Antonio Alessandria): Created for ÇaFleureBon’s 10th anniversary as a limited edition in 2020 just as COVID hit and no one could travel. It sold out in weeks, so Antonio added this beauty to his permanent collection. Antonio Alessandria composed a perfume that is an elegant take on tropical fragrances, very different from anything else in his collection which are all strongly inspired by his childhood memories of Catania, Sicily. You can read his inspiration here. My favorite perfumes usually have strong vanilla overtones and here it is smooth, sensual and sophisticated. The balance between ripe creamy florals: ylang-ylang, passion fruit and coconut are set against the slightly metallic scent of incense and patchouli at the drydown. There is absolutely nothing piña colada fruity cocktail about Rusty Vibes, one of the most original takes on tropical fragrances I have ever smelled and from one of the most talented independent perfumers of the past decade (now sold at Indigo Perfumery and Perfumology in the USA). -Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief (GIVEAWAY)

Dahab is my choice and Winner! The notes, omg!
I was transported to summer vibes and tan lotions by this review and video give me Great insight about some of the perfumes i was curios about Like TFs. I am from Europe.

  • I love these posts that offer two sets of reviews of the same fragrances. Having smelled none of them, I feel that triangulating between Steven’s and Michelyn’s takes gives me a better sense of what I might expect from each of them. If I were to win the draw, I would love the bottle of Rusty Vibes, simply because it sounds like the most unusual and intriguing of the four scents…and because I have my own wonderful memories of a few days I spent in Catania decades ago. I’m in Oklahoma, USA. I subscribe to Redolessence on YouTube. And I do follow Cafleurebon on Instagram.

  • i think that both Michelyn’s and Steven’s reviews were great. There ware a lot of perfumes i do not know about, so i’m happy that i watch video and read article.
    I live in Poland

  • Parish Cratic says:

Should I win I would love to get my nose on Kajal’s “Dahab”. I thought Michelyn & Steven’s reviews were outstanding and give you a great glimpse into the fragrances if you have never smelled them. I live in Mississippi.

  • Agree with Michelyn that tropical fruits remind us of exotic places, especially those that are popular summer tourist spots. Steven praises Antonio Alessandria Parfums Rusty Vibes for its juiciness and for its skilled employment of the passionfruit. My choices are:

    1. Antonio Alessandria Parfums Rusty Vibes
    2. Kajal Dahab

    I am in US.

  • My choice is 100 ml of Dahab. I thought that Michelyn’s written review was absolutely filled with intriguing details and it was amazing to read it. I thought that Steven’s video review was something really helpful and I liked how professional it was. I live in Poland, EU. I’m an Instagram follower. My Insta name is — insztagramekphoto

I’d like to explore Rusty Vibes if I win!! How both Steven and Michelyn described Rusty Vibes sounds amazing. A tropical scent with ripe fruits, florals and vanilla gives me this scent image that is down right sensual! Off their description I see a tropical beach night with a bonfire blazing sipping cocktails with little umbrellas as the sea breeze rolls in. USA

  • Tropical Fragrances makes me look forward to Summertime. So many wonderful smells. Florals, fruity, Freshie, sea breeze, suntan lotion. They can be romantic, sensual. Fresh fragrances are a staple to any collection. The versatility makes for a great addition that is likeable and easy to wear. Pick up one of these great options

  • AleksCipri says:

I am a big tropical fragrance lover. I think I’ve loved them ever since I was little. Often I know or I have tried most of the fragrances that end up in tropical lists. I was really happy to discover two new fragrances here – Porthole and Rusty vibes. A adore Aweigh and Eau de Soleil Blanc, but I don’t own the full bottles. In case I win I would love to get Strangelove NYC Lostinflowers. I was always intrigued by this brand but they are a bit too expensive for me so I’ve did not yet have a chance to test many of them. It was interesting learning from Steven’s video that it has florals but also oud. But what sealed the deal for me is that Michelyn is on her third bottle of this one. It was be amazing. I’m from Illinois, US.

  • Johnmc500 says:

If I had to choose one I would pick Rusty Vibes.Vanila incense patchouli and ylang ylang sounds amazing.
    Oklahoma USA

  • Both Michelyn’s and Steven’s reviews highlighted the many different ways that fragrances can be considered tropical! Lostinflowers is the fragrance I’d like if I win. I love photorealistic scents and was intrigued by Michelyn’s description of it as smelling like “oversized hyper-realistic jungle flowers” and Steven’s description of it has having a mesmerizing and diverse floral bouquet. I love your reviews and follow you on Instagram so I know when a new one is posted, and I am subscribed to Steven on YouTube as well. I live in the US.

  • Denis Rodrigue says:

I would love to try Aweigh,I love tropical fragrances for the high heat,I’m from Canada

  • Viresh Salyja says:

Amazing List. Hat’s Off To You For Providing Such Great Lists. Naile It By The Way The List Contains My Favourite Creed Virgin Island Water. I Really Want To Try Aweigh, Kajal Dahab & Rusty Vibes.

  • All beautiful fragrances. If lucky, I’d choose Rusty Vibes. Michelyn’s description of creamy florals, tropical fruits mixed with incense and patchouli caught my attention. Steven mentioned that it was a bespoke fragrance made for Cafleurebon’s tenth anniversary. Sweet! Thanks for sharing these summer treats with us. Mich USA

  • As always Steven and Michelyn are on point!!!! I know few of their choices and I simply love them!!!! I enjoyed very much how Michelyn described Antonio Alessandria Parfums Rusty Vibes… I hadn’t heard about it and really caught my attention. Another one that I would love to try is Kajal Dahab. It sounds amazing!!!!! I’m from Massachusetts, US.

  • Greg Graham Sr says:

Hello Steven and Cafleurebon and Michelyn, Thank you for that great information and video. Navitus Fragrances Aweigh is a favorite of mine. Creed VIW is a must have for summer. That Kajal sounds amazing to me. Thank you for your generosity. Stay safe.

  • Ellen oliver says:

Great video ! Tropical scents are my favorites
They all sound great but I would love Rusty Vibes !

  • Michael Tomlinson says:

Great article, amazing video Steven! I love these kind of fragrances. Coconut, tropical and island feel! If I could win one, I would love to try Navitus Aweigh! Based on the description it would be the one that intrigues me the most. Excellent job and thank you for sharing all of your expertise and knowledge! This is coming straight from Phoenix, AZ in the USA where hot is no big deal because it’s a dry heat!

  • I am very curious about Dahab. I really like the style of their bottles, but never got around testing the liquid inside.
    Thank you! EU

  • I always love how detailed and picturesque Michelyn’s descriptions are, especially pertaining to something as realistic as tropical holidays. I appreciated how broad Steven’s list was. He provided options for every tropical recreation you could think of. If I were to win, I’d choose Aweigh because I don’t have many citrus heavy summer fragrances. California, USA

  • Sulaimaan Idris says:

Never try all the list in the video except Mancera Holiday, i can see why Steven add mancera holiday in the list, it’s good fragrance, feeling like on vacation when i wear it though,

  • Living in Florida, Virgin Island Waters is a fragrance that I often reach for when it is beach time! Fantastic!

  • My choice is lostinflowers, I’m absolutely intrigued by Stephen and Michelyn’s reactions. “Mesmerising” and “head-spinning”? Let me try! 🙂 Live in EU

  • Michelyn and Steven are both great reviewers. They make all the fragrances on this list sound amazing. They are even more appealing considering the really hot and dry weather we are having here in Denver, Colorado this summer.

Of the four available bottles I would love to have Kajal Dahab or Aweigh.

  • Bryant Worley says:

Firstly, I follow you on IG – @Brygantor_1.

Next, I have to say that Michelyn Camen’s opening salvo really whetted our appetite for what was coming. She and Steven gave us quite good visuals, which were transportive. Having only smelled Dahab, I feel that triangulating between Steven’s and Michelyn’s visuals, gives me a better sense of what I might expect from each of the others. Bravo and Brava!

Lastly, I live in Waldorf, Maryland, USA, and because of its intriguing originality, I would like to win Rusty Vibes.

  • Nikolina_84 says:

My first choice is Dahab and second Rusty vibes. I really enjoyed reading the reviews because summer tropical perfumes are ny favorite and I’m still searching for the signature scent in that genre. Thanks to Michelyn and Steven, I know which ones to try next.
    Following on Instagram as @nikolina_84
    Hugs from Croatia, EU.

  • Both Michelyn’s and Steven’s expert descriptions narrowed down for me choosing Navitus Aweigh. I’m drawn to Mexican citrus and coconut. I live in Houston, TX and feel the heat will bring out the notes.

  • Derek Bedinghaus says:

I always enjoy Steven’s articulated breakdowns & from both Steven and Michelyn the RIP to Rosendo Mateu. I like Michelyns scenarios in the writing such as the garden of eden bit. I reside In OH, USA.
Would like to win Dahab. I do follow cafleurebon on Instagram also.

  • If Steven’s #1 choice is Rusty Vibes, that is the fragrance I would most like to win. I liked his description of a juicy fruit combined with coconut and vanilla. I also enjoyed Michelyn’s description of Rusty Vibes as an elegant perfume, different from anything else in the collection. You have both piqued my interest in the perfume. ~Indiana, USA

  • great video as always! i would like to have Kajal Dahab, im living in New Castle.

  • Again one of the great Steven’s reviews. I’m always looking forward for his takes in fragrance topics- the reviews are always so informative and well thought. And soo many great suggestions! The tropical notes seem perfect for summertime with their warmth, sweetness, smoothness…
I’d love to win Kajal Dahab.
    I’m in eu

  • Alexandros Pyladarinos says:

Great video as always Steven! Living in Greece these kind of fragrances are absolutely must haves! Love this content! I would love to have Navitus Aweigh!

  • Wonderful list and reviews! Michelyn, your reviews of each made them all seem like “must try”s- I think many of us will have longer wish lists now 😀 I’ve never been particularly interested in tropical fragrances, but after reading your reviews of this batch I want to try them all! Steven- it’s so neat that we get the chance to experience a fragrance you directed! And as always, your videos were informative and eloquent. Even the bottles you chose looked like a bouquet when they were all together.

My choice would be Lost in Flowers, second choice would be Dahab.

Thank you both, writing from the EU.

  • I liked that Steven started the video with the description of what tropical means 🙂 Dahab bottles intrigued me especially by the description saying about the tropical fruit that has not yet been discovered… so dreamy! From EU.

  • I love Kajal’s Dahab and i’m very curious about lostinflowers by Strangelove NYC, quite useful review by Steven, thanks from EU!

  • Scott Teague says:

Thanks for the giveaway Steven! I haven’t tried any Navitus fragrances yet. Would like to be entered to win Aweigh. Thanks

  • LostinFlowers is an unforgettable and head-spinning trip inside the famous tropical painting “The Dream”, by Henri Rousseau, where a reclining nude is gazing at a lush landscape of oversized hyper-realistic jungle flowers as wildlife peek through eyes that glow in the moonlight. Notes: Indian red champaca oil, lily of the valley, saffron, marigold, gardenia, oud – Michelyn Camen A beautiful description by Michelyn I am intrigued by the notes especially the perfumer is a just exemplary. I loved Stevens reviews just as descriptive and his analysis is second to none. I am following @cafleurebonofficial. I would love to win Lost in flowers if I am lucky. Thanks a million from the United Kingdom

  • is a frankly sensual and intriguing take on a tropical fragrance. So long lasting it would take them from the Garden of Eden into the wilderness -Michelyn Camen, Editor-in Chief. I am really struck by Kajal Dahab the notes just are absolutely sumptuous. I loved both Michelyn and Steven review just really descriptive. If I am successful I would love to win Kajal Dahab. Thanks a lot from the UK

  • RiccardoC says:

Thanks CaFleureBon for this great review!
I agree with Steven…tropical fragrances really put me in the non-stress and vacation mood
From Steven choices Navitus Aweigh seems very interesting, due to the lavender and the incense that give a nice twist to it. Did not know the DKNY fragrance but will try to test it, love the combo magnolia and coconut..also Curacao Bay seems a great one to try.

From Michelyn my love goes to VIW by Creed. To me, is the summer in a bottle. I also love Dahab, which I tried and I can feel the musky base that makes the fragrance long lasting.
Michelyn’s review has also made me very curious abot the fragrance Lostinflower by Strangelove NYC, as it seems a wonderful concoction of natural and raw ingredients. Amazing!

I follow you on Instagram with the name riccal65.

My choice should I win is Lostinflower by Strangelove NYC

    Riccardo, Italy EU

  • Lostinflowers sounds so intriguing. Thanks for your reviews and the draw
    I’m in the EU

  • Amazing post. I am a new subscriber to redolessence but long time reader of Cafleurebon.
Michelyn really made each of the perfumes come alive. Especially Lostinflowers being like a Rousseau painting The Dream and I remember the Rusty Vibes but didn’t realize how tropical it was . Steven is a really well spoken and knowledgeable reviewer.
These are the two I will enter for I am in the USA

  • ElenaChiss says:

Please count me in for Kajal Dahab. I am very intrigued by this house. Lots of articles here on the blog about their creations, but I never got the opportunity to test any. Thank you! Europe

  • Thank you for the content – it is fun to have a review from Michelyn (in written form) in addition to Steven’s (in video form). I don’t usually go for tropical style scents and there were many I was unfamiliar with. I would love to try a scent that is described as Homer’s Odyssey (really liked that description!) – and I do enjoy a yuzu scent 9/10 times! And I appreciated how the video complemented the article and provided a nice visual and further opinion on the tropical fragrances.
I am from Canada and would love to try Navitus Aweigh (I have never been able to smell anything from this house yet!). Thank you for the giveaway!

  • patrick_348 says:

What I like about this list is that the selections seem so varied, even though they are all lumped in the “tropical” category. If I win, I would go with Aweigh, simply because Steven feels like a friend! I find it interesting that at one point Steven highlights the lavender in it, a note Michelyn doesn’t even mention. Both of them got my attention in talking about Rusty Vibes, as both were enthusiastic and went into interesting detail. I live in the US, in North Carolina.

  • Thank you Michelyn and Steve for the wonderful list. Creed Virgin Island Water was my first love from Creed and would feature on any of my tropical fragrance lists having grown up in the tropics. It eventually got supplanted by Spice and Wood and Viking but still holds a special place to this day. I also liked Tom Ford Soleil Blanc but nothing from the house beats Metallique in my book. I’m still looking forward to smelling Strangelove lostinflowers which has been in my must-try list for a while. I would love to win Strangelove lostinflowers or Kajal Dahab and I’m following @cafleurebonoffical as @sngashig and I’m in USA

  • Holidays deserve a special fragrant category of their own, and tropical perfumes are very unique, fresh and playful and instant moodlifters.
Thanks to Michelyn for starting this exotic trip for us and to Steven for continuing it with his interesting and expert descriptions which still kept a light and breezy atmosphere.

My choices, should I win, are Rusty Vibes for a totally unique, sensual and vanillic take on a “summer perfume” or Dahab, with its juicy, unique and long lasting undiscovered fruit.
    I live in EU.

  • Thanks for these wonderful recommendations Michelyn and Steven!

I whole-heartedly agree with Michelyn, that fragrances are able to transport you to a dream location. After running out of my bottle of Curacao Bay I am looking for another amazing Tropical fragrance that transports me to an island in the pacific with white beaches and a delicious peach daiquiri! Kaja Dahab sound exactly what I’m looking for!

Steven has a way to describe and explain a fragrance so expertly that I really can imagine whether it would be something I’d like or not. I’m glad our taste in fragrances matches so I’m always interested in his recommendations.

I would love to win Kajal Dahab!

I follow CaFleureBonOfficial on my handle @ronaldjapenga
    Greetings from the UK!

  • Love Christophe Laudamiel works, especially made under his own brand. Everlasting, Club Design
    Greetings from Poland

  • A fun double take on a summer group of scents! I’m a big fan of marine scents and would love to try Navitus Aweigh. The inspiration and notes sound really intriguing. I’m in the USA.

  • Regis Monkton says:

I appreciated both Michelyn and Steven’s description/insight in regards to these fragrances. Steven caused me to think that “Rusty Vibes” is an enjoyable, high-quality fragrance, so that is the one which I would want to win. I live in the U.S.A. I follow Cafleurebon on Instagram (@regismonkton).

  • I have never smelled any of these fragrances but Kajal Dahab intrigues me the most. Steven is always putting me onto new fragrances and lesser-known fragrances so I enjoy watching his videos. This written review made me want to try Dahab even more since watching the video. I live in the US

  • kirisekiib says:

Really love this list! So many really good fragrances that are not so much talked about. And I like that I learned from your reviews about new to me fragrances I am very curious to try.
My choice is Rusty Vibes. I live in the EU.

  • Michelyn, I enjoyed your write up for the classic summer fragrance, VIW. A great fragrance, however I seem to have performance issues with it, but I found Gorse by Laboratory Perfumes a suitable substitute without being a direct clone. Aweigh sounds absolutely fantastic, it sounds like a vacation in a bottle. As usual Steven does a great job of conveying the feel of the fragrance. I’d love to add Aweigh to my collection! Thank you, from Canada!

  • Trinity33 says:

Great selection of tropical fragrances! I agree with Michelyn that a touch of coconut is a perfect for tropical fruits and flowers. I also think vanilla is a perfect accent for berries and garden flowers. Steve always gives such thorough reviews. I would be delighted to win either Rusty Vibes, lostinflowers or Kajal Dawab. MD, USA.

  • Kevin Black says:

Great read!! Stevens video brought me here . I currently live in Miami and any of these fragrances would work for me. I recently purchased Cedrat Boise by Mancera and would like to try holidays ⛱.

    Thank you,

  • Zoran Loncarevic says:

Super good review Steven. Thanks for that. All scents are very delicious, summery and tropical. In this case the Kajal Dahab sounds best to me….. Greetings from Germany

  • I love both Steven and Michelyn’s reviews. Steven was very detailed about his feeling about the scent and I love Creed Virgin Island Water as well and I really want to try the fave of his wife DKNY Coconut About Summer,I love the DKNY Be Delicious line. I love Michelyn’s description of the fragrance because she gives a visual with her review of these tropical scents, makes me want to be on an island right now! And her description of Strange Love Lost In Flowers took me right to the jungle under the night sky with the animals glowing eyes peeking out of the grass in the moonlight. I would love to win Kajal Dahub and I live in the USA.

  • EIC, your written words are beyond imaginative and so descriptive; fantastic job.
Steven’s videos are always so informative and real. I love that you both choose the three that I am lusting for. Dahab, Rusty Vibes, and Lost in Flowers. I am in the USA, and yes I am registered.

  • I love tropical scents, but as a “perfume” it has to be done right. Not that they are bad, I just don’t want to smell like an air freshener. Strangelove Lostinflowers sounds the most appealing to me. I like the fact oud is added to the mix with the white florals.
    Strangelove Lostinflowers is my choice.
    United States

Tropical fragrances are so endlessly uplifting and cheeky in a sexy way! There’s no way one can ever get enough of them in the summer. Steven is spot on: coconut, frangipani and ylang-ylang along with clean musks are quintessential summer notes. Love them. The salty tart pineapple in Lumari Paris’s Porthole sounds intriguing too, will need to check it out one day! I am sold on Dahab from Kajal based on both Michaelyn’s and Steve’s reviews: an amazing mix of warm tropical fruits, “a warm spiced blend of woods, passionfruit and amber that floats on a cloud of musk.” I am based in the EU

  • Jazz_fragrance says:

Own Aweigh & VIW, both amazing tropical vacation fragrances. This summer the key, siesta drive, redbrook, bal d’afrique, erba pura, Narjesi, and 40 knots have been heavy in my rotation
Very intrigued and would love to try rusty vibes and stranglove

  • Tropical Fragrances are something I enjoy a lot and end up wearing almost in every season. I enjoyed a lot Michelyn’s list because is so diverse and many of them are not expensive fragrances, like DKNY.
Steven has a unique way to explain fragrances and provides a great list aswell.
The ones I would love to win are either:
    1. Kajal Dahab
    2. Aweigh

  • If I win, i would like Dahab by Kajal Perfumes. These fragrances for the tropical holidays with emphasis on coconut and other memories and smells of yhe tropics like soft breezes, warm air, exotic destinations, rich white florals, etc. I appreciate the variety of the fragrances that were highlighted from floral, fruity, with and without lavendar.
    Maryland, US.

  • Southirina says:

I love all holiday fragrances but my favourite from this list would be Kajal Dahab. The tropical fruit that has not been discovered, with the woods, the amber and musk seems to be a perfect combination. Garden of Eden seems like a perfect destination.
    Hugs from Romania

  • I always feel excited when Steven makes a video. He is my guide to the fragrance journey. Additionally, I support him because we are both from Greece. Perfect job as always Stavro!!!!

  • Giorgia295 says:

    Good selection for summer.
Every EU prize sounds good but if I’ll ever win, I think I’ll choose Rusty vibes by antonio Alessandria. Never try this brand But I would love so, this fragrances stood out from all the description by Steven and Michelyn because the combination if milk with exotic fruits. I’m fron Italy, EU

  • Tropical fragrances are not really my genre, but lostinflowers by Christophe Laudamiel is something I wanna experience again. I like how your experts describe it as hyperrealustic jungle, but for me it is very beautiful flowers with shadow side.
I live in the EU and my choice is Strangelove lostinflowers, thank you for the generous draw!!!

  • Really great video by Steven and Michelyn wow blew me away with her imaginative writing (loved the Henri Rousseau image for lostinflowers and a fruit never discovered for Kajal Dahab. Now I am really wanting to smell these tropical fragrances and Rusty vines because it was a unique perfume for Cafleurebon anniversary.
Based on that alone you will find samples of all the and lostinflowers, Rusty Vibes and Kajal Dahab and if I am lucky I would like to win any of those 3

The way they both describe the different aspects of the fragrances is remarkable. My choice would be the incredible: Kajal Dahab.I live in Greece, EU.

  • petergigov says:

Such a nice Tropical list ,In no particular order I like:
*Navitus Aweigh I’ve smelled ,fresh coconut , lime, lavender and incense
    *CREED Virgin Island Water
I can live without a swizzle stick, but not without beach umbrella 🙂 I own the fragrance
*Jacques Fath Curacao Bay , deep blue and fruity like Michelyn said. I own 50ml decant
*Tom Ford Eau De Soleil Blanc I’ll try
    *Mancera Holidays I’ll try too
    *Loumari Porthole
    Fruity and romantic? Must try
    *Kajal Dahab
Dahab to me is sweet, but also really tart, and becomes musky and woody in the base. It’s less sweeter than Erba Pura, to me comparisons some people are making, are kind of vague .
    *Antonio Alessandria Rusty Vibes
Antonio Alessandria background story is remarkable, translating personal stories , not only from his childhood memories, but from his whole life span , into fragrances somehow related to Sicily. Not so easy to achieve.
Purity…corruption…ripe fruits? Tropical, but not so sweet , and metallic, another must try fragrance
Navitus Aweigh, Kajal Dahab and Antonio Alessandria Rusty Vibes are the 3 I’m listing. I do slightly prefer Rusty Vibes, it’s the most unique fragrance
    Exciting giveaway,USA

  • Mirea Luca says:

Kajal Dahab must be my choice. It might just be eve s scent that temped Adam. That was a very good one and i can only wish for it even more after this. Steven’s video is like always, a masterful insight on this beautiful world of frangrances. I haven’t smelled any of them but i know thant his tastes never let me down, and i say that because i made some blind buys based of his reviews and i was not let down. I live in Romania, EU.

  • Very great review. I have never tried any of these but all of these sounds very good. I would like to win: Rusty Vibes, because I love Coconut. Thank you for the chance. I live in Europe.

  • HiMyNameIsWaste says:

Steven’s description of the Strangelove NYC team as knowledgeable and devoted to great fragrance rings true. And who doesn’t want to smell “Dazzling, hypnotic, and sexy as it gets”? I’d love to win Strangelove NYC’s lostinflowers. I live in Nashville, TN USA.

  • I love some tropical fragrances. It does evoke warm sand and sunshine, and salty ocean waves, with palm trees dancing in the breeze. I especially love them even more after living in Buffalo, NY. Both Michelyn’s and Stevens review were great! I would choose Strangeloves Lost in Flowers. Buffalo, NY US.
    Following on Instagram.

  • Thanks to Steven for the review and Cafleurebon for the opportunity. If I have a chance I would choose Aveigh. I am in the US.

  • I really like such collaboration reviews, and draws . Out of the fragrances picked by Michelyn and Steven, the most appealing are:
Navitus Aweigh citrus and incense done in unconventional way
CREED Virgin Island Water classic Summer fragrance
    Jacques Fath Curacao Bay
Green Water I’m familiar with , it’s been my grandpa’s signature scent for …. as far as I can remember , Curacao Bay has the vacation and deep sea smell i like
Loumari Porthole sounds good, sweet and salty
Kajal Dahab with ripe pasionfruit sweetness, mixed with woody , musky and nutty elements i find really catchy.
    Antonio Alessandria Rusty Vibes
Top quality natural smelling fruity floral, with rust nuances. We are indeed search for beauty in all forms basically all our lives, but we get to different results and answers. What answer I’ll get from Rusty Vibes I could only guess.
After some hesitation between Kajal Dahab and Antonio Alessandria Rusty Vibes , at the end Dahab would be my choice.
The reason is I know Joorie, because my sister in law wears it regularly , and I think Dahab is easier to wear.
    Thanks for the draw
    USA

  • Always appreciate Steven’s thoroughness especially when creating a mental setting for a fragrance. Couldn’t agree more that tropical scents have a way of transporting our minds to tropical desitnations. But get those coconut-fruity-and-butteries away from me! lol Yeah, honestly I can’t stand ’em. We can do a buttery ylang with vetiver or a fruity mango and lime, but a coconutty floral-nutty is a no-go. Seriously though, Mancera’s Holidays is like a vacation in a bottle. And Dahab also a great choice. Would be interested to try Aweigh. Canada.

  • IvanVelikov says:

Most impressive fragrances in the 2022 Tropical draw are
Tom Ford Eau De Soleil Blanc , I wonder what kind of fragrance Michelyn thinks “ smells like the most expensive suntan lotion in the world” ?
Jacques Fath Curacao Bay , exotic juicy and fruity fragrance, with salty marine accords .
Antonio Alessandria Rusty Vibes fragrance with a character
Navitus Aweigh , to me Navitus equals Vivamor Versatile, pleasing all year round fragrance I wear on regular basis. Aweigh also offers a lot , sound intriguing
Kajal Dahab I’ve sampled, I think it’s juicy musky gourmand done really well. Smells natural to me, which is rare for gourmands.
CREED Virgin Island Water is versatile Summer fragrance , with a white linen suit i how i usually wear it.
Kajal Dahab, Navitus Aweigh and Antonio Alessandria Rusty Vibes i all want to win at once , but if I have to choose one , it would be Rusty Vibes. I suppose I have the best from Antonio Alessandria , It’s called Noir Obscure.Boozy and overly spicy in a good way opening , and in the base leather is pretty prominent, there’s fruity sweetness too. In a way I’m expecting Rusty Vibes to be warm weather counterpart to Noir Obscure.
I’m so happy that Antonio Alessandria fragrances found a new home in US at Indigo Perfumery, and Perfumology, two solid boutiques i trust.
Thank you Michelyn, Steven and all the sponsors
    USA

  • Ahhhh, summertime, tropics and vacation vibes, I love it! It’s always interesting see how different people have different preferences. Michelyn’s taste vibes with me a little bit more though, but summer vacations are always fun!

I subscribe to Redolessence. I’m interested in the 50 ml bottle Antonio Alessandria Parfums Rusty Vibes
I live in the USA. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • Gaboarteritano says:

I found both reviews very accurate and interesting. Kajal Dahab is my choice. I live in the USA.

  • Michael Prince says:

I enjoyed reading Michelyn’s written reviews and Steven’s Youtube video on Tropical Fragrances. I’ve heard so many great things or have tried all of these fragrances. Steven gives his brilliant and detailed reviews on all his picks. There are so many of these I’ve wanted to try such as Dahab, Curacao Bay, Rusty Vibes, and Aweigh. I love how tropical fragrances have progressed and modernized over time transitioning from Coconut to other fruity, floral, aquatic, and ozonic notes. I am following @cafleurebonofficial on instagram under @michaelprincefragrance If I win I would pick Kajal Dahab. I am from the USA.

  • Both Michelyn’s and Steven’s reviews are very helpful. I love to try them all, especially Dahab. There ware a lot of perfumes i do not know about, so i’m glad that i watch video and read article, from USA

  • I enjoyed the variety of brands and prices represented in Steven’s video. I also liked Michelyn’s description of the fruit mixture accord in Dahab. I would like to win Dahab and I follow Cafleurbon on IG (username wrm_01). I live in NY.

  • It’s sometimes a challenge to describe various scents that all have a similar DNA, but both Michelyn and Steven managed to make them sound completely different and I can now imagine every single one of them, without ever trying any. Amazing!

All great scents with an amazing reviewer to back them up. I would love to win Dahab by Kajal Perfumes, I have alwawys heard very good things about this fragrance(worth the hype). Thank you for the opportunity! EU

  • Here we go giveaway! I hope to get Dahab, I own homme ii and faris, looking to add more to my collection!

  • Claumarchini says:

Thank you very much as always for these great reviews, Michelyn you have put together such a diverse and interesting fragrances, so well thought as always. Thanks to Steven for his always very enjoyable videos, and congratulations for his work on Aweigh!
Tropical/marine fragrances are the ones I am often weary about, because I do not always like the way marine notes and coconut/vanilla are used, so I have to try them very carefully, but these ones…I’d actually love to try them all! It is very difficult to choose because I am a big fan of Antonio Alessandria, but if I were the lucky winner I’d go for Dahab because I don’t own anything from Kajal Perfumes and would love to try this scent very much. Greetings from Italy

  • zazazelle says:

Thank you for fantastic review with perfect summer vacation feeling and a bit of escapism from our boring life. It was interesting to compare Michelyn’s and Steven’s impressions.

My choice is lostinflowers Strangelove NYC, thank you!

  • What a great list of summer scents. Summer has so many perfect scents it is nearly impossible to choose just one, or maybe even 10! I would have to try the Dahab should I win. In maryland.

  • PetaloDiCera says:

Dreamy list of fragrances you’re giving us!
I’m not going on vacation this summer and your description surely transport me to exotic places!
In the lucky scenario i win this giveaway, I’d be very happy to welcome to my collection Rusty Vibes, by Antonio Alessandria, a nose I appreciate a lot!
I’m also intrigued by your description of Lostinflowers by Strangelove.

Thank you all so much for the amazing opportunity!
    I’m from EU, Italy.
I also follow Cafleurebonofficial on instagram.

Smiles to all of you =)

  • Amazing video and article you are quite a team
The description of Kajal Dahab as a undiscovered fruit tempting Adam and the video as well as Antonio Alessandria rusty vibes (as the number 1) make those two I would like to win.
I do own a discovery kit of Strange love and Lostinflowers and meltmyheart are my favorites
USA where it’s hot but no tropical breezes

  • It is becoming a Cafleurebon great custome the posts that offer a review of same fragrances around a theme with Steven’s and Michelyn’s takes that are complementary to have a better look of the scents. Now are Tropical fragrances that transport us to distant “nice and warm” paradises far from the torrid streets of our cities. There is a great list to all kind of Tropics: I haven´t tried the Navitus where Steven is the creative director, but I love the work Jorge Lee does in Ricardo Ramos perfumes so I guess Aweigh must be an amazing take on the aquatic side of tropics. A lot of coconut (CREED Virgin Island Water- the virgin islands memories of Steven-, DKNY Be Delicious Coconuts about Summer and Alessandria Rusty Vibes ), a lot of my beloved frangipani ( Fath Curacao Bay and CREED Virgin Island, Curaçao Bay ), ylang ylang and clean musk. BOth Michelyn and Steven agrees on a scent that I would love to try because is a work of the genius Mr. Laudamiel : a natural flower bouquet that is mesmerizing, dazzling, hypnotic, and sexy. If I were to win the draw, I would love to try 1) the amazing Alessandria Rusty Vibes or 2) Kajal Dahab. I live in Spain, EU. I follow instagram @cafleurebonoffical.

  • I enjoyed Michelyn’s descriptions of the tropical perfumes, especially how Dahab is described as the kind of scent that must have tempted Adam smelling it on Eve!! That is some high praise. And then LostinFlowers with its oud and other flowers seems so lovely. Steven always does a great job in his videos – I have a hard time choosing one if I were to win this draw, as Dahab, LostinFlowers, Rusty Vibes all seem great from Michelyn’s note and Steven’s video review, BUT, I’d go with LostinFlowers for this draw, as I have heard so much about Strangelove NYC and their fantastic creations. I am a Redolessence subscriber and am in the USA.

  • Oh how I love tropical fragrances! Steven got me totally hooked up on Navitus Aweigh. I love aquatic scents but there is usually problem with lasting power. Aweigh looks like good solution. For the same reason Loumari Porthole sounds very interesting for me. Love salt accords, and combined with pineapple.Must be delicious. Eau De Soleil Blanc is a summer classic for me. I didn’t know it was inspired by island of Comoros and Tom Ford travels. In my teenage years I went trough many bottles of DKNY Be Delicious. I’m really curious how the Coconuts about Summer version smells. Should I win, I’d choose Lost in Flowers by Strangelove NYC. Michelyn sold that one by her review and comparison to Rousseau’s painting. “Dazzling, hypnotic, and sexy”. That’s something for me! I live in Poland, EU. My instagram account is @agakawecka and of course I follow @cafleurebonofficial.

  • wallygator88 says:

Thanks for the great video Steven (love your shirt in this video) and writeup, Michelyn. I enjoy tropical fragrances because of the vibe that they bring to the table

The ones that appealed to me are NAvitus Aweigh and strangelove’s lostinflowers. I think of the two, I would love to win lostinflower. I love Christopher Laudmiels work and the inspiration being a Henry Rosseau painting makes it all the more alluring.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • Alexis Rosado says:

Great list and review. I own a bottle of Jacques Fath Curacao Bay and I love it so much… It is perfect for Puerto Rico’s climate.

  • David Martines says:

I’m right there Michelyn! Fragrances, especially tropical ones, have an inate ability to transform your surroundings and transport you, where you stand, to your getaway island! Also I always enjoy Steve’s video reviews. Been watching him for years and I value his experienced nose. Great list, I blind reach for Virgin Island Waters a lot.

If I should win I would like to have lostinflowers. Sounds amazing!

    I’m in San Diego. Thanks!

  • I love tropical fragrances; they can pull me out of the winter doldrums in the coldest of weather and (obviously) feel perfectly suited to balmy days as well. I seek out ylang-ylang, rum, coconut, citruses, juicy fruit notes, sweetened incense, salty air, and smooth musks. My go to is a dupe of Virgin Island Water, though I suspect the EdT I have on hand is a poor facsimile of the original. Someday I’ll pick it up and find out.

Michelyn, I really enjoyed the imagery included in your reviews. These fragrances do make me think of beach umbrellas and warm sea breezes. And I want to cut into a fresh tropical fruit that is “a cross between a peach, a pineapple, a mango and a tart granny smith apple.” I also enjoyed Stevens’ video. When he raves about a fragrance—like lostinflowers—it really makes you want to rush out and try a sample immediately. Thank you both for the fun survey of tropical scents!

I’d love to try all four of these giveaway fragrances, but If I had to choose, I’d love Antonio Alessandria Parfums Rusty Vibes. Thanks!

I’m following @cafleurebonoffical on Instagram and I’m located in the midwest, USA.

  • I would love Strangelove lostinflowers. It sounds intoxicating. and hypnotic. Favourite sentence of Michelin’s review is “wildlife peek through eyes that glow in the moonlight”. Steven is so knowledgeable and enjoyable to listen to. Based in the UK.

    ☆Navitus Aweigh
The only Navitus Parfums I have is Vivamor. Smells a bit like Pineapple Upside Down Cake with saffron. Aweigh sounds nice, coconut, zesty citruses, and incense
    ☆CREED Virgin Island Water
Lime and Coconut Layer Cake with Rum
    ☆Jacques Fath Curacao Bay
Making and eating Blue Hawaiian Cake on the beach
    ☆Loumari Porthole
I don’t think Loumari fragrances are available in US
    ☆Kajal Dahab
The fragrance is more complex than some people realize , it’s way more than a topical gourmand. Opening us surprisingly fresh, bergamot and Granny Smith apple are zesty and tart. It’s getting sweeter in the base, but there’s no single moment from the first spray, until the drydown, when I can say , ok there’s some syrupy sweetness . Sensual is a nice way to describe the fragrance.
    ☆Antonio Alessandria Rusty Vibes
Sicily Italy, ripe fruits, vanilla ? If you ever been in Sicily, and you know local cuisine you’ve most likely eaten Cassata , the locals called it Cassata Siciliana . Traditional cake from the region , and in my Pastry Chef mind that’s how I believe Rusty Vibes would smell.
Kajal Dahab would be my pick if I win
Appreciate Michelyn and Steven reviews, and the giveaway campaign

  • Lovely Tropical list of fragrances. The best ones are:
-Navitus Parfums Aweigh , because the coconut, lavender and incense
-CREED Virgin Island Water , Piña Colada in a bottle
-Jacques Fath Curacao Bay , no suntan lotion and salty heavy accords. Black Currant is strong on me , and gives the fragrance nice, delicate fruity sweetness.
-Kajal Dahab I know, it smells like picnic basket full of fruits , juiciness and other surprises.
    -Antonio Alessandria Rusty Vibes
I like tropical, more complex and different fragrances . Rusty Vibes fits the bill perfectly with its fruity-rusty combination.
I really like Lamar, my husband is into the new Faris, I’m going with Dahab today
    Thank you for the opportunity

  • WaltherP99 says:

My clear favorites today are Dahab and Rusty Vibes
Dahab by Kajal is truly mouthwatering , mostly linear green apple, passion fruit and musk fragrance, what I get in the opening, is what I get in the drydown, or at least 80%. I get the cedar, but it’s supporting, and not one of the main players on the field.
“It wasn’t an apple that tempted Adam, it probably was Eve’s scent and it might smell just like Kajal Dahab.”
    Haha , love it
Rusty Vibes by Antonio Alessandria is grown up artisanal fragrance, fruity and metallic. Artistic indeed, without crossing the line.
    If I win , I’d prefer Dahab
All other profiles I already follow , @waltherp99bg
    Thanks a lot

  • I own Aweigh & it is amazing I always like articles featuring something I own I only wish the author would have went more in depth like they did on the other fragrances…Steven always go above & beyond to depict a fragrance that’s why I wait on his vids everyday, Kajal Dahab sounds really interesting to me

  • Thank you to Steven for the video review and Michelin for the write up review on all 10 fragrances! I’d like to be entered for the Kajal Dahab fragrance because Steven says it’s a base of musk note (my favorite) and has the longest lasting power of all 10 fragrances mentioned; and Michelin describes it as having the smell of a tropical fruit that’s not yet been discovered! Sounds exciting and beautiful! TY for the chance to try it out!
