Jovoy Paris Part 2: Eleven Candles “Bougies” + Light my Fire Reader’s Choice Draw

For Part Two of our series on Jovoy Paris, let us introduce you to the store! A few steps from the famous Place Vendome, Jovoy has  become  known as THE niche fragrant destination in Paris, introducing new and cult brands  (many have already been featured on CaFleureBon ) including: Atelier Flou, Grossmith, Illuminum, M.Micallef, Olfactive Studio, Undergreen, Amouage, Hors la Monde, Isabey,Technique Indiscrète, Histoires de Parfums and Parfum d’Empire . Recently  the boutique just  launched another CaFleurebon favorite  from our friend Vero Kern of Vero Profumo and soon will carry the entire collection of Andy Tauer …  which is Tauer’s first entrée into Paris . You are always welcomed by François Hénin, the owner of Jovoy and Hugo Lambert, the “ambassador”.

As we introduced you to the splendid  six perfumes of Jovoy, we  are also pleased to announce their line of eleven candles (so beautiful you may  be tempted to use them as home décor).  Each is presented in a red box hat a reference to the company’s vintage heritage. You may buy the candle alone or accompanied by a bell glass, protecting it from dust.

4 heures

A delightful scent of hazelnut and cake fresh from the oven

Just in case you don’t have a pen handy to call Jovoy, their telephone number is the name of the candle! Not a marketing ploy, there is a real story  behind its name … a woman shopper used her red lipstick to write down the number and voila!  This candle wafts a powdery leather scent that is very feminine.

Ambre 1

Before the perfume the candle was the signature scent of the shoppe which you can almost smell from the Place Vendome

L’Arbre de la Connaissance

Fig lovers will lust for this candle which smells just like the perfume

Les Demoiselles de la rue de Provence

Translated from the French this means the young girls of Paris, but it is really the smell of the brothels ( which evokes Picasso’s painting)! One word captures the scent of seduction…Tuberose

In Nomine Patris

The almost 'religious' scent of incense.

Mojito

The sugar rum cocktail evoking “Papa” aka Ernest Hemingway, the ex-pat American writer who stayed in France for some time

Qu’on leur donne de la brioche !

Of course based on Marie Antoinette legendary misquote (Let them eat cake). A confectionary candle

Vive le Roy!

Before the French were cutting off the heads of the nobility in the 18th century the masses would shout long live the king. The smell of opulent lily, the royal flower turns your home into a kingdom..

Relais de Chasse

Imagine yourself only twenty miles from Paris and at the Foret de Rambouillet. This scent evokes the forest the smell of the hearth and a crackling fire.

Le Galion

Named for the sailing ship that navigated the seas during the 17th century;the candle smell of  old wood  and spices .

I choose 4 Heures as I adore the scent and taste of hazelnuts (filberts) and fresh baked goods, of all these (wonderful) perfumed candles I believe this would be the most yummy! Thanks for the chance to win; both to Jovoy and CaFleureBon! 🙂

  • Ambre 1 – I love a classic amber fragrance in the house more than on my skin!

Thanks for yet another great draw.

  • Ambre 1 would be my choice also, the fragrance itself is a beauty, i tested my sample and went gaga over it. I would love to be entered to win since i have always been a fan of Jovoy, starting with Poudre from their original line of fragrances to Terra Incognito..etc. Please enter me. They all sound delicious, so its hard to choose.

  • Relais de Chasse would be my choice. The scent of crackling fire – it could be perfect for 6-month-long russian winter 🙂

  • Relais de Chasse! I can imagine long winter evenings, cracking firelog….. and the candle generating this wonderful smell….thank you!

  • Le Galion captures my imagination! I would love to embark on a voyage on this spice ship.

I have just finished writing a book about the French colonial enterprises of the 17th century, and I’d love to be able to inhale Jovoy’s interpretation of the scent of the past.

I have tried Jovoy’s Chypre, and I think it is lovely.

  • Oh dear you’re making this really hard, they all sound lovely! I guess I’d go for either the fig or the Relais de Chasse. Oh alright, let it be Relais de Chasse then!

  • Les Demoiselles captures my imagination, but then the scent of tuberose always does- and the fact that this one was inspired by brothels is intriguing…I need this candle!

  • My wish would be for L’Arbre de la Connaissance as the scent of fig wafting throughtout the house would make me joyous! thanks for the draw!

  • OOOh…another wonderful draw!I think my choice would be In Nomine Patris. I love the smell of incense when I go to church and really hope this smells just like it. Thanks so much Jovoy and Cafleurebon!

  • I’d choose Le Galion and to be surrounded by that wood and spices candle scent has to be amazing, I’d love to win simply because I want to know what is the deal behind the new craze about really expensive candles. Thanks for another amazing draw.

  • I love scented candles, but don’t most perfume lovers also love a scented home? I would choose Qu’on leur donne de la brioche ! I am on a diet, so at least I can live vicariously with the scent of cake!

  • I’d love to try Le Galion because I would like my house to smell like woods and spices. I think they are very relaxing notes. I want to find a candle which really scent the air, because all the scented candles I try aren’t noticeble when burning.
The other candles in the line sound wonderful too. It’s a difficult choice.

  • ok …how can one make a choice of one amongs these fabulous scents. If I have to name one I´d go for Relais de Chasse

  • I want my house to smell like a French brothel …please! I love that smell is a tuberose. This is a treasure! I’d light it in my bathroom and bedroom. This would not be the on the mantle in the den candle! Uh uh no way! Why do I want to win? Well, first like I said I want my home to smell like a parisian brothel I mean what more is there to say except it’s Tuberose:)))) my favorite flower. This is a candle that was created with yours truly in mind. I will proudly light my sexy candle:) thanks xo please pick me for les demoiselles de la rue de Provence. If the side effect of the candle is that I start to act like a brothel gal…Im sure my husband would appreciate it;)

  • My choice is Ambre 1. There is absolutely no reason why I should win, just for the love of all things beautiful.

  • Michael Singels says:

I would have to go with the very popular Ambre 1 as well. I love a nice amber, and that it was the signature scent for the store has my interest peaked even more.

I often have a hard time with scented candles, so many feel very harsh on my nose, but my partner loves them. It would be really neat to find one well done that can bring smiles to both of us! Thanks for the draw!

  • I’d like to win one of these beautiful candles to give to my sister who has allergies that prevent her wearing perfume, but who loves illuminating her home with candles and has only a few scented ones.
The perfect choice for her is L’Arbre de la Connaissance.
    Thanks for the draw.

  • I don’t have a lot of (good) experience with scented candles, but the Relais de Chasse sounds so evocative, it must be good! Please enter me in the draw.

  • I would love to win a candle because I am a complete noob in scenting the house!.. My parents never even burned candles, I am the first one in the family who does. I am very interested in fine artistic candles, but have not treated myself to one yet.

If I am to choose, I’d go with Mohito, sounds like a lovely smell for home!
Thanks for the draw and your unwavering attention to all things smelly.
