CaFleureBon Blogathon: Breast Cancer Awareness 10/ 25/2011 “Yummie Life” + A Yummie Celebrity Draw for the Cause

If you have seen me in gorgeous cotton top or dress, it’s by Yummie Life by Heather Thomson.

In fact I wear Yummie Life lingerie under all my  shape showing  clothing and  as fashion as well. I met Heather in 2005 at a 10 year reunion hosted by Eric RothFeld of Sun Apparel, Inc. aka Polo Jeanswear where I was a recipient of a  Brandweek  Marketer of the Year Award -Fashion 1995 (the FiFis of Marketing). I consulted for the Company for a while, but just as their are friends in fragrance; Heather is a  friend in fashion and a perfumista who was great at fashion but needed a fragrance intervention  Her first niche fragrance was Le Parfum de Therese by Edmond Roudniska for Frederic Malle. (Heather  added Tom Ford Private Blends to her growing collection as well).

Heather created Yummie Tummie after her first  pregnancy body changed. Her tummy didn’t look “yummy.” Her bust line need a bit of a lift. She shopped and shopped (and shopped), and finding only shapewear that was more ‘shamewear’, a business was born. (Her fabuloous shapewear was one of  Oprah's  favorite things

The former stylist to Diddy and J.Lo has amassed a roster of celeb fans including Beyonce, Kelly Ripa, Gail King, Tyra Banks and Lauren Conrad, all of whom love Yummie Life. Thomson's patent-pending line of  everything from  briefs to dresses, contain a cleverly-hidden midsection panel that smooths, shapes, and pares things down, giving anyone from 16 to 80 a better bod – including women afflicted with breast cancer.

Breast Cancer research is a cause that is near and dear to her heart and has affected loved ones throughout her lifetime. Both Heather's  grandmother and one of her closest friends have battled this disease. As a child in the 1970s Heather remembers learning that her Grandmother had breast cancer which led to a mastectomy, leaving her with one breast; her grandmother didn’t have the option of breast augmentation. She would place a silicon bag in her traditional bra and even then her chest was always uneven, but she never complained. As an adult, a dear friend of Heather’s was also afflicted with breast cancer,  and  was treated with radiation. She told heather that Yummie Tummie tanks are the only tops she could wear against her tender skin after radiation because the cotton is so soft. The cotton of  Yummie Tops gave her the ultimate support both inside and out.

Dear CaFleureBon Yummies,

Today I want to talk about something really close to my heart: supporting breast cancer survivors through their healing process. A few years ago, my dear friend Leslie was diagnosed with breast cancer. Aggressive treatment, including extreme radiation, saved her life. But it also left her skin so sensitive that the pressure of a bra was painful. When she told me that the soft cotton of her Yummie Tummie was the only thing she could bear to have on her skin, I felt so happy that even in the smallest way I had helped her feel better and sent her a box full!! And I promised, “I’ll find you something to make you feel great again!

  • Just want to put in my two cents……i do NOT want to be entered for this one as i already own Yummy Tummy shirts and will say they are fabulous and look awesome on. You will not be disappointed if you win this …..Good Luck to all of you.

  • Grey in – um – XS.
Maybe the runching will give me some shape and detract from the gouges I’ve collected over the years?

  • Ive given this a second look and donated an additional $5 bringing me to $50. I wonder if this top will hide all of the strestch marks that I have. I have them on my ribs breasts and stomach. They are pretty deep if I dont wear shapewear you can see them through most shirts.
    Anyway. great job blogin’. xoxo
I dedicate this donation to my grandmother who had bladder cancer.
