Top Five Best Fall Fragrances

Tomorrow marks the Autumn equinox, the transition between summer and fall here in the Northern Hemisphere. We celebrate the change of season with our Top Five Best Fall Fragrances. Video Contributor Steven Gavrielatos and ÇaFleureBon E-I-C Michelyn Camen co-curated five for 2025. With spices, vanilla, tobacco, caramel, and boozy notes, (and a surprise fruit ingredient) each are bold and colorful, just like the season. All have incredible longevity and sillage.

Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille is iconic. It is one of our top five fall fragrances because of its unexpected twist of cigar tobacco and spices which adds depth to a rich, but never overtly sweet vanilla with an amber drydown. It is the kind of lusciously warm perfume that smells great on skin with a scent trail that lingers on your sweater. -Michelyn

Xerjoff Casamorati1888 Lira which launched in 2011, is one of my most loved fragrances and made it into our Top Five Best Fall Fragrances with no second guessing (I have gone through three bottles). Blood orange is dipped in caramel, as jasmine blossom and rose petals swirl around of aromatic bergamot, and lavender. Deeper tones are added by cinnamon, vanilla and musk. Honestly, I wear it all year round, but it’s really my go-to in the fall and winter-Michelyn

It’s free-spirited, and full of unexpected twists like its namesake the Jackson Square Art Colony in New Orleans, with a vibrant blend of bergamot, black pepper, rose, and cannabis, grounded in patchouli.     I like the overall descriptions of the Fragrances. I don’t like it when people just repeat the notes. I want to know how they combine to give the overall impression and both Michelyn and Steven do a good job at that. I’m most interested in Jackson Square. It sounds very unique and both descriptions were very different.

    Descriptions of the agents are so helpful. I have a sample of Jackson square and I love it. Not a fan of gourmands or super sweet perfumes but I know instant crush and angels share are top tier. Thanks for the video and chance to win. Austin Texas.

    Just like Steven I often come back to Tobacco Vanille again and again. The pipe tobacco with spices and vanilla smell deep and great.
    I am not familiar with Lira and Instant Crush. The blood orange and cinnamon in Lira, the rich exotic and enduring Instant Crush sound great.
    Angel’s Share smells beautiful and alluring. Thank you Michelyn for explaining the background story of the Hennessy family and their cognac empire.
    Hez Parfums Jackson Square sounds unique with the blueberry note and the unexpected twists. I like the presentation too.

    Yes i feel that when you think of fall and winter, first two fragrances that come to mind is Tobacco Vanille and Angels’ Share. I would like to know how Jackson Square smells like.

    I love how the fragrances are described and the feeling you get from each one. Who it’s for and who would like each one. The channel is great. So glad I found it. Have gifted some suggestions and the giftees loved the fragrances.

    Michelyn’s love of Xerjoff Casamorati1888 Lira makes it a year-round wear. Hez Parfums Jackson Square is a modern chypre that is unique, free-spirited and unique–a boozy Bourbon vanilla that is sweet and cozy. Killian Angel Share with its cognac essence, tonka and oak, make it a standout for Fall.
    Mancera Intense Instant Crush is elevated from the original with the addition of a salted caramel accord that bring richness to the original DNA of Instant Crush. Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille
    is iconic with its cigar tobacco and spices which brings depth and a richness to the slightly sweet vanilla and amber. When the weather dips, any of these scents are perfect to reach for fall weather scents,

    Steve is in agreement with Michelyn on the iconic Tobacco Vanille being perfect for Fall; he continually comes back to it, even though he has similar scents that have that same DNA, they can’t top Tobacco Vanille. The Spiciness of Intense Instant Crush sets it apart from its predecessor. Xerjoff Casamorati1888 Lira is another iconic showstopper that is a beautiful done gourmand, Killian Angel Share for Steve is an essential scent for any perfume connoisseurs’ Fall List: dark, mysterious, charismatic, long lasting, it is gorgeous, boozy scent great in fall and winter. Hez Parfums Jackson Square is an indie scent that doesn’t follow trends–something unique and truly original for Steve; a beastmode scent that shines in the Fall and Winter as well. Strong, rich, very spicy, boozy, warm, cozy; it is “loud” yet nuanced and balanced overall–a sensual and provocative scent that isn’t for the faint of heart.

    Steven really picked 5 fragrances that are perfect for the autumn. Fall is a season where it’s not too cold and not too hot that you can really play around with different scents and select which one shines on your skin. Tobacco Vanille has been around for forever and it’s a sure hit anytime of year but especially the fall. Lira borders on gourmand territory without being overly sweet and done to perfection in the Xerjoff way. Intense Instant Crush is a beefier version of the original (which I own) and can’t even imagine the longevity knowing the first one lasts an eternity. Angel’s Share is known in the entire world and loved by many for its cognac and sweet facets. Then we have Jackson Square. I’m familiar with other Hez releases and this one uses a note of blueberry which you don’t see often. What I can gather is a mix of different scents (à la New Orleans, a blend of many things) in the most cohesive and creative way. I’d probably pick at least 3 of these fragrances myself for fall too. I’m located in the USA.
