Rogue Perfumery Derviche II (Manuel Cross) is the 2021 follow up to 2018 Derviche, (an amber laden ode to Emeraude by Coty) Derviche II uses many of the same materials but in totally different proportions. It is an amber, woody incense masterpiece laden with dried fruit and to my nose a fine quality oud hums in the background. The bright sparkling citrus introduction adds freshness and keeps it from being overwhelming or cloyingly sweet-Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief
Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee (Bertrand Duchaufour ): One of the three inaugural fragrances from the small independent brand headed by Creative director Neela Vermiere, who grew up in India. Trayee, whose Sanskrit name refers to the first three Vedas (the oldest, most sacred books of India), is one of the most transporting, spicy incense fragrances I know, and is a CaFleureBon Modern Masterpiece, Perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour uses a high percentage of natural ingredients: cardamom, clove, elemi and ginger in a sweet-spicy cloud. Creamy jasmine blossoms dipped in golden amber swirl around Laotian oud. Deeply contemplative and comforting-MIchelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief
April Aromatics Calling all Angels is an all-natural award winning perfume from Berlin based artisan Tanja Bochnig. It is a stunningly composed blend of sweet and smoky; resinous, with a golden ambery honey accord that sets off the frankincense which wraps around clouds of the soft vanilla. Aptly named, during these times when we might feel despondent, there is an energy emanating from Calling All Angels that is both meditative and healing. This scent is infused with clear crystal and Herkimer diamond as gold flakes dance within. This is what peace smells like- Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief
Meo Fusciuni Little Song is a blend of tobacco, coffee, rose, and civet. Giuseppe Imprezzabile who is the perfumer writes, “A scent of earth and smoke, of roots and resins. Finally, even time has its own perfume. I keep writing this little song over and over again, like a lullaby. Little song is a narrow space, it is a deep connection with life, with the past. A perfume that shakes the heart, that reaches the bottom of the human soul. [ Little song has been conceived and created listening to the albums: Murder ballads and Skeleton tree by Nick Cave and the bad seeds].-Giuseppe Imprezzabile
Marc-Antoine Barrois B683 (Quentin Bisch) refers to both the book Le Petit Prince (the name of the planet) and to French menswear designer Marc-Antoine Barrois’ and superstar perfumer Quentin Bisch’s boyhood memories of “leather from an elegant attaché case or an immaculate desk blotter; of the distinct smells of wood during the regular gathering of fuel to warm the family home.” Every note is distinct but harmoniously blended in this classic masculine fragrance which is a truly multifaceted leather -classic, elegant, bold and spicy. It is one of the few fragrances that I have tried that uses Ambroxan that doesn’t overpower the rest of the composition, Oakmoss adds green woodiness at the drydown. Ganymede might be better known, but B683 is a personal favorite, as it smells perfect on every man I know…. n every single one. It is another much gifted fragrance to the men in my life- Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

Perfumology Clutch (Justin Federico with Deputy Editor Ida Meister as Evaluator) is a combination of smoke, ginger, and elemi resin. This rich and balsamic fragrance is warm and inviting while the smoke is enigmatic and daring. Notes: smoke, black pepper, elemi; ginger, oak, red cedar, leather, musk, vanilla –Steven Gavrielatos, Video Content Contributor
Gallivant Istanbul, (Karine Chevallier) is delicious, warm and embracing. Istanbul, the city, is the crossing road between Europe and Asia. In Gallivant Istanbul, you sense the two cultures but also the ancient city and the metropolis and its modernity. There is a play of red thyme meeting tendrils of sweet myrrh (opoponax) and patchouli. Ceremonial coffee, rich and thick cardamom spiced, melts into a base of vanilla and tonka bean. On a side note, I have gifted this fragrance to many. -Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief
Tauer Perfumes Au Couerdu Desert is a perfume that borrows key notes from L’air du Desert Marocain, and its notes of patchouli, warm woods, and ambergris creates the duality between warm and exotic. – Steven Gavrielatos, Video Content Contributor
January Scent Project Burvuvu (John Biebel) is a combination of three types of cedar wood ingredients with mushroom and henna. Undertones of amber spice and Tonkin musk create the animalic appeal in the base. – Steven Gavrielatos, Video Content Contributor
Tsvga Parfums Wine & Chocolate (James Barry) is exactly what the name denotes. A gorgeously delicious chocolate note is paired with the booziness of wine for the ultimate exercise in addiction and craving. The depth and richness of the blend makes it the perfume indie fragrance for the winter. – Steven Gavrielatos, Video Content Contributor
