The Natural Perfumer’s Guild Outlaw Perfume-Dupetit Cannabis: Spritz It Or Smoke It ? + Draw

If the pungent scent of a freshly rolled joint lights your fire then you will be tickled by Dupetit’s Cannabis Eau de Toilette that sports real cannabis absolue, (not the synthetics used in numerous commercial fragrances with cannabis in their title). Yes, it smells like the real thing because it IS the real thing. Toskana neroli and petit grain from Grasse lighten the top into a citrusy pop while the heady Mary Jane unabashedly sashays her sweet greens into the main body of the fragrance. Indian patchouli, clove and other exotic spices finish to bring this hempy, rather overwhelming scent to a sensible conclusion.

I can imagine its vibrant pungency will be alluring  to individuals partial to the particular aroma of pot. If you like to toke, this fragrance is for you. Its 100% natural; maybe Bob Marley would have worn it! WARNING: Wearing Cannabis may attract many a new buddy as your perfume wafts under your door.

I do find the composition clever, particularly the patchouli-esque drydown making this controlled substance smell like a college dorm room.  Hey dude, where's the bong? I would love to try more of Dupetit’s natural perfumes; Cannabis is a well executed scent and so my curiosity has been piqued to experience the other compositions in the line.

Worth the risk to purchase unsniffed: I suggest a sample first. And make sure you fridge is stocked

  • I imagine the drug sniffing dogs in customs having a field day with this one!
no, actually I would seriously suggest that you don't send any samples overseas. You might have some explaining to do!

  • I'm not sure if I know what cannabis smells like. Joints smell sweet, if I'm not mistaken.
I would like to try this scent just to know if it smells the way I think cannabis does.

  • Ironically, this was the first sample I received before all of the others and it came from Germany. If any perfumista ever wore absolutment absinthe (sp) its very much like it.. citrusy with a strong patch drydown. I really liked this.. its very CALMING

  • I was surprised by how much I liked this! It's not "weedy" at all, it's really nice and refreshing, with a spicy drydown. Thumbs up!

  • Let us not forget Mr. Dow, and Mr. Dupont, of said chemical companies, and also mention that Mr. Hearst owned thousands of acres of logging interests. YOu know what it takes to make wood into paper? Lots of chemicals…To convert cannabis into paper, know what it takes? WATER. That's it. So there was a great deal of money at stake here. Also Bayer was just figuring out that you could isolate compounds in plants and use them for medicine. We don't want granny using the Cannabis tincture for her back ache when she could use Asprin now do we? Again lot's of money involved here.

What we need is some sort of campaign to scare folks into getting this banned. Because we have a lot of money invested in paper. So Mr. Hearst kindly started the era of yellow journalism, telling people about this "evil" devil weed marihuana…used by Blacks and Mexicans…whip up the hysteria and pay enough congress people off and push this legislation through in the middle of the night, (literally they passed this at Midnight) and our profit margins are safe…for another 80 years.

So IFRA…follow the money, to find out WHY all of a sudden these things are bad for us.

  • Why, oh why does the problem child in me have a sudden urge to try this and wear it to work?
Maybe I could claim I was downwind of the drug locker?
