The Different Company Pure eVe Review (Celine Ellena) + Shimmering Summer Musk Giveaway

 The Different Company Pure Eve

The Different Company Pure eVe official brand photo edited by Nicoleta©

This scent was a blend of both, of evanescence and substance, not a blend, but a unity, although slight and frail as well, and yet solid and sustaining, like a piece of thin, shimmering silk… and yet again not like silk, but like pastry soaked in honey-sweet milk – and try as he would he couldn’t fit those two together: milk and silk! This scent was inconceivable, indescribable, and could not be categorized in any way – it really ought not to exist at all. And yet there it was as plain and splendid as day.”― Patrick Suskind, Perfume The Story of a Murderer

The Different Company Pure eVe, (released originally in 2011, under the name Pure Virgin,) is a soft floral almondy perfume centered around the note of musk. It’s a scent that, in my book, is one of the most beautiful plays on the soft and airy facets of musk.  Musk is a paradox – and CaFleureBon Editor and author Dr. Elise Pearlstine wrote one of the most eloquent descriptions for this note: “Sacred and profane, scent of skin and skank, fragrance of royalty and rebels, musk can be transforming in a perfume with the power to refine, extend and balance or it can be the essence of sex.  Musk is the odor of attraction, of sensuality, of wealth, and is the base upon which most perfumes are constructed.” (if you haven’t read this article, please do so).

The Different Company Pure Eve review

The Different Company Pure eVe, edited by Nicoleta with an AI background

The language of musk can be so different, from the most erotic, powerful, and animalic facets, to the soft purrs of milky, pure innocence. The Different Company Pure eVe is flowy, silky, and angelic, with the  airiness of a cloud, lit orange by the light of the dawn.

The opening is bright and clean, with airy aldehydes that waft off the skin, bouncing in the air, sparkling and crisp. Made me think of the cirrus clouds, the delicate wisps formations that look a lot like clean aldehydes smell like – the kind of brightness that seems to radiate vertically – clean, icy, and powdery white. Tastes just like the flashback of a childhood memory, the familiar soapy floral scent that the fresh linens used to have when you were tucked in bed, at night.

AI-generated  Moodboard for The Different Company Pure eVe, by Nicoleta

In the heart notes, we delve deeper into equally familiar waters, with dusty notes of powdered sugar and creamy almonds. The Calisson – the French candy is quoted as inspiration here –a Provencal specialty candy made out of a smooth, pale yellow paste of crystallized melons or/and oranges and ground almonds, coated with a thin layer of royal icing. And here it is, blooming on the skin, comforting, almondy, mouthwatering, and so Proustian-ly deep. Never too sweet, nor veering too bitter, the almond is in the heart of the scent from beginning to end. It made me think of one of my favorite body lines from L’occitane – Concentré de Lait Amande – the luxuriously creamy, elevated clean scent of pampered soft skin, in all its swoon-inducing glory.

The Different Company Pure eVe is a perfect companion for the late summer evenings, with a delicate feel that envelops you in the most luxurious cocoon, mixing the smoothness of silk with the comfort of cotton. It will not be a loud fragrance, but it will waft close to the skin for hours, present, transparent, and subtle, like a second skin. For those times when you want to walk on clouds, quite literally, I can’t think of a better scent.

Notes for Pure eVe: Aldehydes Heart: Mimosa, Linen Flower, Rose  Blanche, Callison accord, Musk, and Cedar

  • Wow! milk and silk, so amazing and unique. That really sparks my interest. I live in Trzebnica, Poland, EU. Pure eVe would be my favourite although I never tried it because I love such comforting and cozy perfumes. The cotton note is for sure pure magic.

  • I love Nicoleta’s descriptions tha Pure Eve has the airiness of a cloud and I am a big fan of musky florals. Also learning about Calisson being a French Candy. Celine Ellena is a great perfumer.
My favorite the different co perfume is sublime balkiss which is also by Celine Ellena

  • I love clean-fabric musks – that mood board captures that idea beautifully. Very curious about this one. From the EU.

  • Patricia R. says:

Airy and crisp innocence, it looks like a good all-around perfume. I haven t smelled too many musks yet, so it would be a lesson of exploration. From EU

  • Nikolina_84 says:

Mimosa, linen and rose – sounds like a perfect combination!
The part that sparked my interest in Nicoleta’s review the most is: “The Different Company Pure eVe is flowy, silky, and angelic, with the airiness of a cloud, lit orange by the light of the dawn. It is a perfect companion for the late summer evenings, with a delicate feel that envelops you in the most luxurious cocoon, mixing the smoothness of silk with the comfort of cotton. I haven’t tried anything from The Different Company yet.

I have to try this! Soft almond silky creaminess yes please. I don’t think I have tried anything from Different Company yet. USA

  • An opulent portrayal! An exquisite blend of smooth silkiness, almond-like sweetness, and velvety creaminess that intertwines with a subtle musk, creating an enchanting sensation akin to walking on ethereal clouds. I have Sel de Vetiver from this brand, and it is very beautiful and distinguished fragrance. The allure of this fragrance is truly divine, and I am genuinely eager to experience it firsthand. My heartfelt gratitude for this generous opportunity!
    Greetings from Florida, the USA.

  • I loved the mix of descriptions, a comfort scent for the end of the day, a time for oneself. It sounds really lovely. I’m in the us. I do not have a favorite from the different company yet, but this one might be it.

  • Oh, I love Pure Eve and it has been on my wishlist for quite some time. There is something truly alluring about it. I adore that powdery and cozy smell. And as Nicoleta said, it wraps you in a cocoon and gives an impression of a silky gown. I would love to have a bottle of Pure Eve. Greetings from Romania, EU.

  • I’m really intrigued by this milky and silky composition! I really like calissons so if this can approach to that subtle almond facet i would be so charmed :). Im in the EU.

  • Leonarda K. says:

I’m not French but the description of this perfume makes me think of comfy summer evening on the Croatian seaside, surrounded by olive, fig and almond trees and mediterranean smells, wearing freshly washed and sun-dried clothes.
I would use this perfume in winter when I want to transport myself to those summer nights.
When it comes to musks and musky perfumes, I always associated them with cleanliness, something refined and elegant, even the “dirtier” musks never really evoked anything sexual for me

Greetings from Croatia, I’m spending the last few of my vacation days on the seaside just as I described in my first sentence.

  • Wow, the paradox of musk. One of my favorite perfume notes.
    Milk & Silk? Yes, please!
I would love to win this bottle!!
    I’m in the US.

  • selkienorr says:

Sounds like a delicate little beauty! I find sweet musks to be one of the most comforting scents

  • I love musks! So many ways to create with this material. This perfume sounds like a unique take on a musk perfume. I’m in the USA.

  • Fantastic description! A walk on clouds, purity and sensuality in a bottle. Milk and silk and an enveloping experience for the body and soul. I actually appreciated that Nicoleta said this one sits quite close to the skin, because it somehow seems more fitting to have this warm, cozy embrace not “smothering” the wearer, but rather following them like a second skin.
My favorite fragrances from The Different Company are White Zagora and Sublime Balkiss.
    Commenting from the EU.

  • I had calissons when I stayed in a small town in Provence several years ago. They were delicate yet sparkling and perfectly encapsulated the bounty and beauty of the area. I always thought they would make a great inspiration for a fragrance. Pure eVe seems to have captured the essence of the candy utilizing musk, aldehydes and some lovely spring flowers. I’m in the US.

  • I’ve heard about The Calisson , the Pure eVe inspiration , but I don’t remember eating the French candy , sounds delicious.
What sparked my interest after reading Nicoleta Tomsa review , is how cozy, almost fluffy the fragrance is .I really like the Calisson candy ties, musk and the beautiful bouquet of flowers , Pure eVe scent profile is so inviting.
My favorite The Different Company fragrance is Majaïna Sin
    Thank you for the opportunity

  • This is my first ttime encounting The Different Company and Nicoleta’s description suggest that this is a very luxurious and opulent scent:almond, musk, milk and silk..awesome!
    Greetings from Romania, EU!

  • I love how Nicoleta notes the heart of the fragrance being almonds, despite being a musk forward scent. Also the fact that it isn’t a loud fragrance (which is hard to do with musk) but wafts on your body like a second skin. Love the subtle smooth scents. Very interested to see what this is like!
Unfortunately, I have not tried any other perfume from The Different Company, but hoping to do so soon!
    I live in California, USA.

  • It is a truly beautiful, glowing, serene, and dreamy scent! Floating through clouds when I smelled my sample of this one!!

  • Oh boy, Nicoleta always delivers great reviews.
I think that The Different Company is a truly special one. I felt in love with them since I tried Majaina Sin, which is amazing and my favorite one from the brand yet.
Pure Eve is something I need in my collection. I love the combination of milk and silk. I also love the musk in it.
I hope I get this one.

  • “Solid and sustaining, like a piece of thin, shimmering silk… and yet again not like silk, but like pastry soaked in honey-sweet milk” – what a fantastic quote from one of the pillars of fiction literature, and THE pillar when it comes to anything fragrance-related!
I loved how Pure Eve was described as totally neutral, never too sweet nor too bitter, balanced and elegant, cozy and Proustian. I love the musky facet of almond so I’m curious about this interpretation of musk.
    From the EU.

  • Nice review Nicoleta! I agree with the ambivalence of musks and the omnipresence of them in the perfume world. Thanks to Mr. Gabriel an Ms. Ellena for creating this cloudy, airy, dawning, milky, silky scent. There are so many times we always want a perfume close to the skin and feel it is part of us, a second skin. Love the aldehydic opening and the smell of the fresh sheets, a safe harbour of a child. The almond is the queen of this scent and reigns from the opening to the end (I have not tried the Calisson but I put it in my list of my next trip to the south of France). My favorite from The Different Company is Sel de Vetiver, great this summer season with the smell of salt water on skin. vetiver and grapefruit. I live in Spain, EU.

  • I have never tried anything by The Different Company, but would love to start my journey into discovering this house with Pure eVe. I enjoyed the review, but more specific the last part – ‘For those times when you want to walk on clouds, quite literally, I can’t think of a better scent.’
    Thank you

  • cynthmarie says:

I love a good musk and this description of a silky gourmand sounds beautiful. A melon and almond candy is also something I’d love to try. In US

  • Almond scents always draw me in. I own many but can never seem to pass one up. The candy that inspired this creation sounds wonderful and I’m sure the scent is too! In maryland

  • This airy perfume would make a fine addition to my collection, amazing review by Nicoleta. I have not tried anything from this brand before. I live in Sweden, EU.

  • wandering_nose says:

I love and respect perfumes that do not announce themselves in a loud or brash way but rather act as an addition to the wearer’s aura, lending themselves to feel like a delicate veil on the skin. Thank you Nicoleta, for showcasing the gem that Pure eVe must undoubtedly be. My interest is piqued by the opening of clean, air and soapy crisp aldehydes and the following transition into the cloud of musky powderiness with almonds as the main player. I love the idea of almond, silk, cotton combined. The visuals do truly look as if we’re walking on clouds, and now I must try the Calisson too! I haven’t experienced The Different Company’s creations yet – it’s all ahead of me. Big thank you from the EU.

  • I haven’t tried a wide range of musk-focused perfumes, so I appreciate encountering reviews here that profile the different ways musk can be highlighted and expressed. Pure eVe must be an exceptional skin scent, brisk and clean, like fresh laundry and almond patisserie. It sounds beautiful.

I’m in the USA. I haven’t tried any Different Company perfumes.

  • I aways love a second skin musk and the description of this one made me hungry! I may have to seek out the French candy, but for now will dig out another bedtime scent. Thi sounds wonderful. I live in the USA.

  • This seems to be the facette of the musk I like most – soft, airy, clean.
Pure Eve promises to be an amazing scent, here’s my heart, have it, please 🙂
Thank you for the review & the draw from EU.

  • Live how Nicoleta described the stages of this perfume; bright and clean opening with airy aldehydes that waft off the skin, bouncing in the air, sparkling and crisp, followed by dusty notes of powdered sugar and creamy almonds in the heart, blooming on the skin, comforting, almondy, mouthwatering, and so Proustian-ly deep.
My favorite perfume from The Different Company is Jasmin de Nuit.

  • Nicoleta’s description of how the fragrance reminded her of a calisson is lovely. I’m a fan of the candies and enjoy their aroma and taste so to compare their similarities will be fun. Thanks.

    Greetings from California.

Thank you for the great review, Nicoleta!
Pure eVe sounds so gorgeous and wearing this would just make me feel fabulous! Your review really brough my attention to this dreamy fragrance and that floral note of mimosa sounds like it would make a beautiful impression on me.

Pure eVe checks all the boxes, versatile and sophisticated fragrance I can wear all year round. I particularly like the woody , and floral parts , and Calisson sweetness in the base.
From The Different Company De Bachmakov i enjoy a lot, and my girlfriend often wears Une Nuit Magnetique
Thank you Nicoleta Tomsa , The Different Company

  • Regis Monkton says:

I haven’t tried anything yet from The Different Company, but I’d like to. “Pure eVe” sounds like it would be easy for me to like. I’m interested to see what the clean musks in it are like, and in combination with the aldehydes, the mimosa, and the calisson accord. It sounds like a comforting scent which I’d like to try. I live in the U.S.A.

  • When I saw the name of the fragrance Pure eVe , and read the article I immediately thought “Family Summer vacation is finally here” .
Pure eVe is a refined and relaxing fragrance to me, laying on the beach with some Calisson candies , and a good read like the one Nicoleta suggested-Patrick Suskind, Perfume The Story of a Murderer Nicoleta. Silky and milky almondy experience, while hubby is taking care of all the rest 🙂
I’m a fan of Aurore Nomade
    Thanks for the draw

  • “The Different Company Pure eVe, (released originally in 2011, under the name Pure Virgin,)”

The fragrance was indeed released as Pure Virgin in 2011 , and I believe mid 2013 was changed to Pure eVe , Just Pure, the full name of the fragrance.
Like Nicoleta said the fragrance is more intimate, and close to the skin, but at least on me it’s quite sweet. It’s not gooey, sure but I still believe it’s a borderline gourmand, or maybe I should call it Summer gourmand? Almonds, white chocolate, clean musk , rose is what I mostly get on skin, Pure eVe , Just Pure is delicious.
I’m familiar with not all , but most of The Different Company catalog, and if I have to rate my favorite ones:
    1.Oud for Love
    2.Oud Shamash
    3.Une Nuit Magnetique
    All profiles I already follow , @waltherp99bg
    Thanks a lot

What sparks my interest based on Nicoleta’s review of Different Company Pure eVe is a sweet powdery sugary almondy aldehydic second skin scent type of scent that sounds truly divine with the older traditional stylings. My favorite fragrance from the Different Company is Santo Incienso. I am from the USA.

  • Beautiful review by Nicoleta of The Different Company Pure eVe.
What sparks my interest in this gorgeous fragrance is the cotton note and luxurious softness and silkiness. Thanks for the opportunity to win. Greetings from the USA.

  • Phillip_Barkley says:

    Greetings everyone
The Different Company is one the brands allowing perfumers to actually use their imagination, and now I’m intrigued by Pure eVe.
The reason why I like to win, is because of how comforting and delicate the fragrance is . I’ll order some Calisson cookies with my espresso thanks to Ms Tomsa
De Bachmakov is still my favorite one from the brand
Thank you , American living in Paris, France

  • Being a classically trained Pastry Chef I’m fascinated by the idea of Calisson inspired fragrance. Even though calisson status is protected in France, and even the name was trademarked like Champagne, there are still a lot of disagreements in the culinary world about what the “original recipe” is .
I like how Celine Elena combined Calisson accords with rose , musk and cedar, can’t wait to get my hands on the fragrance.
My favorite The Different Company fragrance is Aurore Nomade, but I was told it was recently discontinued, Majaïna Sin is also great
Appreciate the review, the culinary reference, and the giveaway campaign

Thanks for the great writeup Nicoleta.

Love the use of musk in fragrances, particularly ones like Narcisco Rodrigues. This fragrance really sounds lovely, especially since it was inspired by the Cantelisse candy. I had to look it up and it really sounds delicious.

Combining that profile with musk, sounds like sure recipe for success.

I have not had a chance to sample this company.

    Cheers from WI, USA
