In Part 2 of my perfume powered world tour courtesy of Gerald Ghislain, I take on four more of the 20 fragrance The Scent of Departure collection. The itinerary for Monday starts in Tokyo then a quick hop to Hong Kong before heading to Istanbul and finally finishing in Dubai.
In Part 1 I mentioned that Keiko Mecheri’s new Bespoke collection is perhaps the most individually unique set of perfumes she has created. In Part 2 I’ll review the remaining four fragrances Cuir Fauve, Soussanne, Tangeri, and Vetiver Velours.
Amber Oud is a worthy companion to the previous three fragrances and it more than holds its own as part of this Arabian Nights collection from By Kilian.
Gerald Ghislain has released a new three fragrance series under his Histoires de Parfums label called Edition Rare…Ambrarem, Rosem and Petroleum
Calice Becker has been exploring oud through the Arabian Nights Collection for Kilian Henessy’s By Kilian perfume line. She has taken us from Pure Oud which is exactly as advertised, to Rose Oud which sets off the oud with a dewy rose, to last year’s oud accord or “oud without any oud” in Incense Oud. For the fourth exploration of oud Mme Becker has chosen amber as the dancing partner in Amber Oud.
