Ms. Waddington says that she was inspired by the Cypress Inn in Carmel which is famous for having Doris Day as one of the owners. Carmel de Ville has the bright quality that Doris Day brought to her romantic comedies with Rock Hudson.
The scent was composed by Michel Almairac of Robertet, and evokes an old house in the beautiful countryside Veneto, Italy with rolling green hills; a room with old wood floors, leather-bound books with the windows open wide, and the hay,moss, arden flowers wafting in the breeze.
