Royal Service is the new fragrance created by Olivier Creed who as a sixth-generation master perfumer is the living embodiment of Creed. M Creed chose to have his service look back to the royalty and First Ladies who have worn their own signature Creed fragrances. If that was all M Creed did Royal Service would have felt like a Creed Greatest Hits. At each phase of development while there are notes which remind you of previous Creed fragrances M Creed uses a new note to twist them in a slightly different way.
This year, Team Karen [Karen Adams and Karen Dubin] decided to shake things up a bit.
Their planned ‘downtown day’- always on a Sunday [a Sunday, a Sunday] was enlivened by several new events which included a foray to the brand-new innovative multi-sensory interactive exhibit : The Sephora Sensorium, an ambitious collaboration with Firmenich.
Many perfume houses are reflections of their city of origin. Annick Goutal is one who w proudly shows off its Parisian influences with every release.The last Annick Goutal fragrance that grabbed me was Ninfeo Mio…now there is Mon Petit Cheri
For me, it is a very pensive and comforting scent, redolent of time spent in the Camargue and Provence, where I first encountered the glorious fig in its happy habitat
Americans seem to have a fascination with looking back to what they believe were better days, or at least, more interesting days. Recently it seems to be the 60’s which has caught the attention of those who want to stare in the rearview mirror. In fragrance I think Isabelle Michaud has also been inspired by that decade in her fragrance Aviation Club for her Monsillage line of fragrances.
