Heading in to last January’s Elements Showcase I was expecting to find fragrance in all the old familiar places; perfumes, candles, room fragrances, incense, and body products. The exhibit hall was full of all of those things but I found a product which allowed me to encounter fragrance in an unexpected way.
Bettie Page, who would have been 89 on April 22nd, is an icon of sexuality whose look and legacy has inspired many a budding glamour girl and modern burlesque queen. An aroma that is a fitting accompaniment to lustful imagery is leather. Some might think that leather is a note reserved for masculine fragrances, but it can also be a dominant note in fragrances marketed to women.
