Noteology Midnight Leather skews masculine but a fair amount of buyers are women. It also the most expensive Noteology perfume to formulate in the collection (but priced the same). This is a classy fragrance and comparisons can be made to some Hermes Terre d’Hermes (original) and Tom Ford’s Tuscan Leather.
Naomi Goodsir Corpus Equus, which took eight years to complete, Bertrand Duchaufour was inspired by Pierre Soulages “Outrenoirs.” Leather is the very heart of the fragrance and is a homage of Naomi Goodsir and the white Arabian thoroughbred that she rode for many years in competitions. The notes were explained leather, rose petals, horse dung, gin and cigarette ashes.
Olivier Durbano Quartz Quantic, the 17th perfume by Oliver Durbano, is a fragrance of gold; of brilliant but beneficent light, of marigold flowers giggling in the breeze, of living things reaching towards the sun. Olivier Durbano writes, “For a year … I have felt a great awakening.”
Ormonde Jayne Evernia is a marvel of blending, as so many Ormonde Jayne perfumes are: there’s a seamless quality which they possess, and Evernia is no exception. I can’t imagine a season Evernia doesn’t suit: it insinuates its way into your good graces with sophisticated stealth. I’m thrilled to have it in my oakmoss arsenal. Well-played,. It is one of the Best fragrances of 2021
With its irreverent minimalist message but with well thought, beautifully composed and multi-layered fragrances that spoke their stories articulate and clear, Der Duft, founded by Anselm Skogstad was the house that I recommend most often to my online “perfume-pen- pals” when asked what’s cool, hip, new and exciting in the perfume world.
