Pierre Negrin created the Reem Acra Eau de Parfum based on memories Ms. Acra had of collecting Lebanese amber in the cedarwood forests as a child. He chose to focus on the warm aspects of the colors and scents inspired by those recollections.
“A perfumer’s fame and popularity are not important to me. Actually, I avoid them if I could. In my creations, it is important to remove my and the perfumer’s egos from the fragrance. This story, this history of love, is told in three special fragrances created by perfumer Dorothee Piot; Jul et Mad Stilettos on Lex, Terasse a St. Germain and Amour de Palazzo.
It was last July when I learned the Sniffapalooza Fall Ball 2012 and New York Comic-Con were going to share the same weekend. Inside my head I’m yelling “KAAAAARENS!” the way Kirk yelled “KHAAAAN!” in Star Trek II. I managed to experience both on a genre bending weekend I called ComicSniffaConPalooza.
Still far away from Winter holiday season, I won’t want a vanilla that is boozy, sweet, and redolent of scraping out a vanilla pod for my holiday baking. I want a Perfect Vanilla, by Sarah Horowitz-Thran, for a Fall day that would somehow remind me of a scary story which ended well.
