The brand works closely with female harvesters in Morocco, providing them with opportunities for economic independence through entrepreneurial programs. Sana Jardin Vanilla Nomad evokes a sense of wanderlust, perfectly capturing the essence of Sana Jardin’s brand identity. Inspired by a journey of discovery, where the warmth of vanilla intertwines with the ancient wisdom of nomadic cultures, this fragrance embodies the brand’s mission to channel the alchemy of energy through the finest natural ingredients and exquisite scents.

In the heart of North Africa, the desert unfolds like an endless sea of sand, stretching beyond the horizon where the earth meets the sky. It’s a landscape both stark and mesmerizing, a place where time slows and the senses are heightened by the raw beauty of the natural world. The desert is a canvas painted in warm, golden hues during the day, transforming into a range of deep purples and blues as the sun sets, leaving the sky ablaze with color.

As the day gives way to night, the desert comes alive in ways that are as unexpected as they are enchanting. The air, once thick with the heat of the sun, cools and carries with it the earthy scent of sand and rock, mingling with the subtle fragrance of wild herbs that have somehow found a way to thrive in this arid land. As twilight fades, the sky becomes a dome of brilliant stars, each one flickering like a distant flame. This celestial display is a reminder of the desert’s ancient rhythms, a backdrop for rituals that have been performed for centuries.

Gathered around campfires, the tribes of the desert engage in dances that are as old as the sands themselves. The flames of the fire cast long shadows on the ground, illuminating faces etched with stories of survival and tradition. The rhythm of drums fills the air, their beats echoing off the dunes, creating a sound that resonates deep within the soul. It’s a dance of communion, of connection to the earth and the sky, to the ancestors who walked these lands long before. The dancers move with a grace that belies the harshness of their environment. The colors of their robes—rich reds, deep blues, and vibrant oranges—mimic the palette of the desert itself, a living homage to the land that sustains them. This is what Sana Jardin Vanilla Nomad is like, a fragrance that captures the essence of nomadic travel through the African desert. The aroma of vanilla incense burning at night, a ritualistic act of gratitude and calmness in the air. There is something deeply primal and sacred about Vanilla Nomad, a fragrance that transports you to a place where the desert’s stillness is broken only by the distant howls of jackals and hyenas.

The scent of burning wood mingles with the aroma of coriander and cardamom spices that waft from cooking pots, filled with meals prepared with care and shared with joy. A warmth of the sandalwood, a balsamic scent of vanilla, which signifies a sense of belonging that comes from being in harmony with the world around you. She is not the cloying, saccharine scent of childhood memories but a fierce, free-spirited force of nature. She sets the ground ablaze with exotic resins upon which she feverishly dances in the night, igniting with a touch and calming with her desire. Sana Jardin Vanilla Nomad is nomadic in her heart and lifestyle, a true embodiment of the wild, untamed spirit of the desert.

In the desert, you participate in a grand and ancient story. It’s a place that invites you to shed the layers of the modern world and connect with something deeper, something more elemental. Here, under a sky filled with stars, surrounded by the raw beauty of the desert, and the earth smell of vetiver and patchouli in the dry down of the fragrance, you find yourself not merely observing but becoming part of the eternal dance of life itself. Sana Jardin Vanilla Nomad feels like a reminder that in the desert, life is lived with intensity; every moment is a dance between calm and danger, and every breath is a gift from the land itself. A fragrance that speaks to the soul—a call to embrace the wild, dance in the firelight, and find beauty in nature’s raw and untamed heart.

Notes: Coriander, Cardamom, Bergamot; Benzoin, Olibanum, Jasmine; Vanilla, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Vetiver.

I love this name because as Olya described, this is a vanilla unlike any other we’ve seen. It’s not overly cloying or sweet, but calm, dry and serene. The patchouli here grounds it and gives it that earthy feeling of the dessert. The vetiver and sandalwood also add to the wooden nature and arid atmosphere you feel. All the ingredients being ethically sourced and very natural also adds not only to the quality of the brand but also the feeling of being a nomad in the dessert. An aptly named fragrance for us to indulge in. Located in CON USA.

I love Sana Jardin’s commitment to good ethical practices and respect for the environment. Vanilla Nomad sounds beautiful, with its notes of coriander, cardamom, and sandalwood. It definitely evokes a sense of wanderlust and adventure, grounded in comforting vanilla. I am in the USA.

  • I haven’t heard of this house or fragrance before, but it certainly sounds interesting. I mean, who doesn’t love a good vanilla, especially when fronted by fresh cardamom and backed by creamy sandal wood? Sounds like a wonderfully cozy wear. Best of luck to all. I live in NC, USA.

  • Oh another great natural house and they have so many I love! She creates such great scents. I would adore a fb of this one! I am in California

  • What a picture painted by Olya. I love the scene that was set especially this sentence, “It’s a dance of communion, of connection to the earth and the sky, to the ancestors who walked these lands long before.” Vanilla Nomad has been on my radar recently, so this giveaway is perfectly timed. Being someone who loves a non-gourmand, unisex, and headier approach to vanilla, I cannot wait to smell how this marries on skin! An exotic take, with ethical practices, that exudes bodied potency… I am here for it.

I long for an earthy, yet out of the ordinary vanilla. This one can dance right into my hands and heart. I am loving the description of the notes here, the spices, the vanilla, the sandalwood, all woven together in a beautiful dance. I live in Oregon.

  • Love the social consciousness of Sana Jardin. Vanilla Nomad sounds delicious. Intrigued by the bur ing woods mixed with the cardamom and Coriander. It sounding a unique vanilla scent. I live in CON US

Carlos Benaim is such a legend (though my fave from him is a more recent creation–Rotano from Maison D’Etto), and it’s so exciting to see him working with brands like Sana Jardin, making perfume with a focus on environmental and labor ethics.

Olya’s review of the fragrance is so immersive and really transports me to the desert inspiration for Vanilla Nomad. Would love the chance to smell it (and I need to just go ahead and add the Sana Jardin discovery set to my fragrance wishlist!)

    Hi there,

I’ve been thinking a lot about Iceland lately, and though this gorgeous perfume seems designed with an arrid, desert environment in mind, this passage made me feel like I was breathing in the landscape of the Golden Circle: “cools and carries with it the earthy scent of sand and rock, mingling with the subtle fragrance of wild herbs that have somehow found a way to thrive in this arid land.” I’m sure to love it. Thank you for considering. I live in NYC.

I feel like I can actually smell the fragrance through this review. I’ve never tried anything from this house but have always been intrigued. This one sounds so beautiful as we move into the cooler months soon here in the northern hemisphere.

  • I always appreciate a business that has implemented ethical and sustainable practices as a core mission. It reflects a commitment to quality and hope for the future. Vanilla Nomad sounds like an interesting take on the often ubiquitous note. I like the juxtaposition of dry desert scents with the vanilla as opposed to the sweet, bakery vanilla type. Would love to try it. MD, USA

I love the tale behind the scent trail with Vanilla Nomad. Name is befitting as well, a nomadic one. One that can survive alone but is always on the move searching for something. Vanilla is a safe scent profile to add to any fragrance however there are different levels in the quality of it and whether it’s a synthetic or one specifically tailored to a blend, such as Madagascar Vanilla. I think it’s best as a base note but mid is a safe second. Would love to own this well blended nomad. From Jacksonville, NC.

  • Vanilla perfumes can be too sweet but the addition of the Olibanum and vetiver piques my interest. Thank you for including the link to the review by Sandy as it showed that Sana Jardin is committed to sustainability, women’s empowerment and transparency. I will buy the discovery set to try the line.

  • This scent is so beautifully described. I really enjoyed reading about it. I loved this line: “It’s a dance of communion, of connection to the earth and the sky, to the ancestors who walked these lands long before.” I love the idea of a perfume evoking wanderlust and the intimacy of being close and cooking by a fire. It sounds cozy and exciting. I live in Louisville, Kentucky.

  • “nomad” is such an apt way to describe a fragrance. Olya’s touching imagery took me on a ride, and made me think about how the nature of how a fragrance progresses/dries down is reminiscent of the nomad’s spirit: they can move from one place to another continuously, but there are always traces and remnants of where they once came.

I also loved the bit where Olya sort of contrasts the childish and overly sweet quality of more simple scents we might have worn in the past with how Vanilla Nomad goes to bold places with confidence. Tiger By Her Side is my favorite Sana Jardin, but maybe VN could dethrone it! I can’t wait to give this a smell.

    Hello from Brooklyn, NY!

  • The combination of vanilla and incense seems to leave a lot of room for interpretation and expression, and I’m intrigued by Sana Jardin’s take on that foundation, combining burning wood with spice. And I love that this isn’t a “cloying, saccharine” gourmand vanilla, but instead one that’s dry, woody, and resinous. Striking bottle too.

    I’m in the CON USA.

Vanilla Nomad sounds like it truly transports the wearer to the stark deserts of North Africa. Olya’s description of the colors of the desert sky also transported me. The vanilla with its incense quality and the woods, coriander, and cumin surely reflect the raw beauty of desert lands.

  • The desert is my favorite place. gorgeous photos. Cooking in the pots reminded me of my last trip to Santa Fe and the traditional use of the clay pots. Reading this makes me miss the desert nights with the stars, Those notes sound lovely, a non gourmand is something I need in my collection. USA
