Roos & Roos White Ballad

Roos & Roos White Ballad by Olya Bar©

Roos & Roos White Ballad is a fragrance that transports me to the heart of a sunlit café, somewhere near the beach, where the golden rays playfully dance across the tables and warmth embraces every corner. Seemingly fragile and innocent, the “Queen of the Night” flower reveals its mysterious and intoxicating nature through its scent. This opulent white floral potion, infused with fruity, spicy, and amber notes, is profoundly intriguing. The rich and alluring scent of honey blends harmoniously with the irresistible aroma of freshly baked biscuits, creating an atmosphere that is both comforting and indulgent.

Let’s pause on almond biscuits with a perfect golden-brown hue; their surfaces gently crackled to reveal a tender, butter-rich interior. Each piece exudes a warmth that suggests they were pulled from the oven at the precise moment of perfection. The air is filled with the deep, comforting aroma of butter melting into the dough, mingling with a hint of vanilla—a nostalgic reminder of artisanal skill and time-honored baking traditions. Each biscuit promises a treat for the palate, a profound, sensory experience that lingers, much like the memory of a luxuriously slow morning in a sunlit café

As the opening notes settle, it becomes a sophisticated floral bouquet reminiscent of a perfect summer day. The delicate, sun-kissed aroma of what feels like acacia blossoms mingled with the powdery elegance of heliotrope. Each flower seems drizzled in liquid gold honey, with shimmering drops hanging from every petal, capturing the essence of pure, natural sweetness. The air carries a subtle undertone of solar pollen, evoking the sensation of a gentle breeze over a blooming garden. This fragrance captures the essence of luxury and nature’s finest elements, offering an experience as timeless as it is exquisite.

A crisp, dry, and slightly medicinal aroma is woven into the structure, which peaks through from the start, and one will either love and appreciate it or possibly be a turn-off for others. The scent reveals a stunning fusion of almond blossom and ginger at its heart, creating an intriguing balance of freshness and spice. The almond blossom exudes a delicate, ethereal quality, while the ginger adds a sharp, edgy twist. The unexpected hint of bitter almond introduces complexity, its spicy character slowly softening and melding with the composition.

As the fragrance dries down, it reveals a subtle base note of amber talc, leaving a lingering whisper of vanilla warmth and musk softness on the skin. This evokes a sense of nostalgia, transporting me back to the solar aromas of vintage sunblock creams and the carefree summers spent in Sochi, splashing in the sea all day and building sand castles as a child. Roos & Roos White Ballad is a sweet, nostalgic journey through the golden moments of summer, bottled and shared most lavishly with a hint of retro-luxury. It’s a decadent, leisurely scent that speaks of quiet indulgence and zero hurry.

Notes: Almond Blossom, Bergamot, Jasmine, Ginger, Vanilla, Amber, Musk.

I will never understand the people that detest sweet fragrances as that would never be me. I, a male, happen to absolutely love sweet fragrances because they guarantee compliments as well as give you a cozy aura. I was not familiar with the house Roos & Roos but White Ballad seems to be a floral, sweet fragrances for the summer months. Even though it has a lot of sweet notes on it, to me it reads more as florals taking center stage and the sweet notes are there to support and extend the life of the fragrance. Olya used one of my favorite words to describe fragrances: decadent. Cheers from the USA.

Almond Blossom adds an irresistible texture, both delicate and creamy, to this blend. In heart, the flower draws its sensual and narcotic strength from Jasmine and Hawthorn, before getting wrapped into White Musks and Vanilla. A warm and suave signature enriched by White Amber to design an absolute elegance.
It’s a decadent, leisurely scent that speaks of quiet indulgence and zero hurry. I am from EU

Uhhh, honeyed white florals and almond cookies, can a perfume possibly get any more delicious? Indeed White Ballad sounds indulgent, sensual and luxurious. I was particularly intrigued by the paragraph regarding an almost acacia-like smell, a flower that I adore in nature but which seems a bit neglected in perfumery, but also about the ginger, one of my favorite notes from the fresher category, which I am sure gives a bit of crispness to this otherwise perhaps too lavish perfume.

  • The mix of bergamot and vanilla really sparks my interest. I live in Trzebnica, Poland, EU.

  • The mention of vintage sunblock creams has me interested… I also adore white florals and almond (though I am aware almond blossom is different). I haven’t been lucky enough to try Roos & Roos but I’d love a chance to… I’m in the USA!

Super nice read! I liked particularly the last part where this perfume is reminiscent of another time, like a pill for a nostalgia trip: ‘Roos & Roos White Ballad is a sweet, nostalgic journey through the golden moments of summer, bottled and shared most lavishly with a hint of retro-luxury. It’s a decadent, leisurely scent that speaks of quiet indulgence and zero hurry.’
    Thanks!

Since I *did not* win Malamata, I am even more determined to make owning a Roos & Roos perfume reality (truthfully, I have Malamata in a different tab, waiting for me to make the decision :))). Olya’s layered description of White Ballad, along with its deep, rich colour – reminding me of harvesting honey in the countryside – spoke to me. And since I am in an era of discovering uplifting, feminine scents, I am excited about this one. The addition of ginger to the gourmand and white floral layers to me is perfection. I adore ginger in compositions (and food, and drinks, and…) and I have an impression it gives White Ballad a capricious, irreverent air that I think white florals actually have in their personalities anyway. Writing from Romania

  • This perfume reminds me of my mother, elegant and deep, when she danced and was wonderful, bright like the color of honey,
reassuring for me, even the bottle in its simplicity is beautiful and refined, just like her.

The description of almond biscuits with their golden-brown hue and the nostalgic scents of vintage sunblock evoke a profound sensory experience. The intriguing combination of almond blossom, ginger, and amber talc promises a fragrance that is both comforting and sophisticated, making me eager to experience it myself.

  • I have sampled / worn a few florals from Roos & Roos and they all gave me a feeling of richness – it’s like you’re enveloped in something full and silky to touch, in slow motion, almost like sinking.
Queen of the night seems to have extra warmth, like a glowy rich honey, the warmth of fragrant summer nights.
Thank you for the review and the deaw, from Europe.

Perfume is such a personal thing and I love that each fragrance that is made by them is carefully crafted to the high perfumery standards in France making it a wonderful craft of a scent. All of the fragrances seem to have a fond memory or experience tied to them which I love because fragrance really is something that brings back nostalgia to me. I love that this fragrance has the vanilla warmth and muskiness left on the skin, which vanilla always takes me to such a warm and cozy place. That makes me feel safe and happy!!

I’m very excited about how the almond blossom adds an elegant sweetness to the fragrance. From the description of the biscuits, white florals, etc. this sounds like an elevated gourmand, which is my favorite type of scent profile! CT, USA

Olya describing this like a perfect summer day and like such a nostalgic scent sounds amazing, the notes sound right up my alley as well. I love Song for a Queen from this brand. I’m from Romania, thank you!

  • I really love fragrances that have jasmine in them. It just adds such a beautiful complexity and fullness to a scent. I think that’s why I love so many Dior scents, particularly Hypnotic Poison and all its flankers.
This fragrance sounds beautiful. That musk, vanilla and amber dry down just seems so comforting and soothing. I’d never heard of this perfume house before, so I’d be really happy to have them added to my collection of perfumes.

  • I’m always in the market for summer fragrances that aren’t the usual tropical fruit suntan lotion scent. The combination of the gourmand almond biscuit scent with the bouquet of sophisticated summer florals sounds like a perfect warm weather alternative. MD, USA.

As I am in 53 degrees for the high temperatures I long to be at a sunlit cafe near the beach!! I have a few fragrances with a hint of something medicinal and I love it. Fabrice was one of the first perfumers I started following when I got into niche fragrance. He does amazing scents. Thanks for the chance. Not familiar with this line. USA.

The liquid gold honey descriptor piqued my interest along with the slight medicinal note. The nostalgic almond vibe sound unlike anything I’ve smelled before. From California, USA

  • I find Roos & Roos perfumes always interesting (Mentha Religiosa being my favorite) and would be delighted to try White Ballad or Queen of the Night. I am located in Germany.

  • Wow: what a journey this one sounds! The almond cookie part made me salivate, and the solar pollen made me instantly want to try this. I love a good pollen note and bitter almond is something I’ve been looking to try for a long time in a fragrance! I live in the USA.

A wonderful review and a fun read! I have never tried anything by Roos & Roos and hopefully I will get to test this one. What did it for me was the next line: This fragrance captures the essence of luxury and nature’s finest elements, offering an experience as timeless as it is exquisite.
Good luck to everyone and thanks for the chance!

  • Davelorne says:

Roos & Roos isn’t so easy to find here in the USA so I appreciate this opportunity. Based on Olya’s review I know my wife would love an opulent white floral potion drizzled with honey. Appreciate the giveaway

  • Considering the almond biscuit and white floral aspects of White Ballad, the “crisp, dry, and slightly medicinal aroma” that persists throughout the wear is an intriguing twist. I imagine it cuts through the sweetness and warm, powdery aspects of the heliotrope and amber. Interesting composition.

    I’m in the midwest, USA.

  • I wear Honey and the Moon in my rotation, so already love sweet florals. This sounds delicious and decadent. Love the details of the notes in this review. Would love to win and experience this scent. April Minnesota USA.
