Roja Parfums Isola Blu Review (Roja Dove) 2023 + Sail Away Giveaway

Roja Parfums Isola Blu

Roja Parfums Isola Blu by Steven

There is an idealized island hidden somewhere between the paradisiac waters of the Mediterranean and the visionary mind of Roja Dove. Roja Parfums Isola Blu, is bold and buoyant and as sparkling as the aqua crystal which crowns its bottle. This Mediterranean meditation opens with apple, black currant, jasmine, coconut, and orange blossom which blissfully segue to green grass, maté, ambergris (of course!) and lively pink pepper. This olfactive voyage ends with orris root, patchouli, cedar, vanilla and oakmoss—the way a day at the beach ends with sun-kissed skin and renewed positivity. Grab your white linen shirt and climb aboard the yacht, Roja Parfums Isola Blu awaits. -Michael Devine, Sr. Contributor

  • I adore coconut in summer fragrances. This sounds just divine. Would love to win. From Ct USA. I don’t have a favorite Roja perfume as I haven’t tried any yet!

  • Austin Vanatta says:

Amazing review as always. Sounds like a beast mode performer. I love the note breakdown, sounds beautiful and complex, lively, but mature. Can’t wait to try this one!

  • johnmadison says:

Isola Blu sounds like Summer magic captured in a bottle. What a beautiful bouquet of notes that I can only imagine create a gorgeous ode to a perfect day at the beach or sailing on the sea. This perfume illustrating sunkissed skin and renewed positivity…Couldn’t we all use a bit of that this Summer? I would love to wear this.
My favorite of Roja is Elysium. Such a wonderful citrus fragrance that I find myself easy to grab all year long.
Thank you for the reviews, Michael and Steven! Bravo!
    John – Minnesota, USA

  • Armando Esparza says:

Citrus and Birchwood together for some reason are 2 of my favorite combination of notes, especially for the hot summer we’re expecting in southern California!

  • My Favorite Roja Parfum fragrance are Amber Aoud,Nuwa and Turandot.
Isolo Blu also know previously as Oligarch is a great summer fragrance with good performance that has the same DNA of Terre Hermes.

  • Aaron Gunarich says:

I love Elysium Parfum. Isola Blu will work great in conjunction with Elysium. This new release seems like my type of summer scent based on the notes. I am in the continental US. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • Brad Woolslayer says:

I love aquatic fragrances, and I think I would love this one as well. I like that the fragrance includes coconut and vetiver, making this a good coconut fragrance for men. I live in Maryland USa.

  • Bennie Johnson says:

This sounds like a citrus fruity masterpiece. I own a few of Roja’s creations but missed out on Oligarch so I’m glad that this is now available. Would love to own a bottle! Steven did an amazing job per the usual as well on his review. Keep up the good work!

  • Bennie Johnson says:

  • extremetraveler says:

Isola Blu sounds like a great portal to the Mediterranean essence… I know Elysium will probably remain the perennial favorite, but I think there is definitely a growing appreciation for the timeless grassy, citrine combinations; pair that with a fruity, vanilla, anise, and chorus of woods… Exciting and joyous like the beach-side summer holiday we all dream of.

I’d be excited to see how this immense bouquet marries with the sultry NW Oklahoma winds here in my dusty, far-from-the-beach abode.

  • Thanks so much for this opportunity everyone have luck my favorite fragrance of roja dove is amber oud I really love it TEXAS FORT WORTH thanks for this giveaway

  • Brian Palmer says:

First off, thanks for the giveaway. This would be the first Roja fragrance I’d buy. I sampled this recently and loved the scent and versatility. Would love to own a bottle. Elysium is my favorite to date. I live in Virginia.

  • Greetings from NYC. I’ve only ever tried Elysium from the brand and wasn’t super impressed considering the hype so interested in trying another warmer weather fragrance from Roja that is clean and energetic. Also the bottle design?? Stunning.

  • ramsesperez52 says:

I never smelled the original Oligarch but based on the note breakdown it does like a summer smash. I like that even based on the notes it does not smell tropical but rather fruity which I do live my fruits in fragrances. I’m going on vacation soon so winning this bottle would be the ideal fragrance for the trip. Cheers from NJ, USA. Also, my favorite Roja Parfums is Scandal still.

  • I’m intrigued by the idea of finding finally a bright, citrus-y fragrance that has good projection and longevity. Love Isola Blu’s bottle too.
“My love of perfumery started with a goodnight kiss from my mother.” (From Roja Dove – What a lovely thing to say!)
My favorite Roja scent is Reckless.
    In the contiguous U.S.

  • Felice Magz says:

Love the bottle for starters. Long-lasting and bright notes are always a win! I love unisex versatile fragrances.

  • ianbradleyandrews says:

Cut grass really intrigued me. This is such a great concept and one of the best smells. I’d love to win. I live in Indiana.

  • onemechanicalalligator says:

Isola Blu sounds like the beachy, tropical fragrance of my dreams. “The History of British Perfume” was a fascinating read—I had no idea that lavender & briar rose were the only scented plants native to Britain. The line “the hills and the red soil told me we had arrived in Devon with its promise of cream teas, clotted cream, and ice-cream. It seemed like paradise” was so alluring & evocative & really captured a childlike feeling of delight. I haven’t tried any Roja perfumes yet but I just added a bunch of samples to my Luckyscent cart…. In the US.

  • markisha.rodriguez says:

With summer approaching I have been looking for a fragrance that meets this sent profile, possibly a signature. I have been looking for a unique perfume and and would love to have the chance to win.

  • joshua DeGraftenreed says:

I never had a Roja Fragrance before.
But the notes look like a beautiful Summer vacation. I hope to one day smell this well crafted scent

  • Roja makes some great fragrance. It would be hard for me to decide which is my favorite. I love Elysium Parfum for the spring and summer so I guess that’s #1.

  • I’m intrigued by this fragrance because I have always wanted to try the Oligarch and in Steven’s review, he says this fragrance has similarities to the Oligarch. I also live in a hot weather climate and I’m always looking for a long lasting, attention grabbing fresh fragrance. Looking forward to getting my nose on this one and adding it to my collection with Elysium.

  • Randy Leija says:

I haven’t tried yet Isola Blu, but reading the reviews must be wonderful. My favorite Roja Parfum is Oceania, probably one of the best perfumo i ever smell.

  • ScentsAndStuff says:

Oh, my goodness…The note breakdown on this one sounds absolutely DIVINE! This is my most desired fragrance (technically it was Oligarch until the name changed), but I simply cannot afford it, so winning this giveaway would be incredibly fortuitous! Lol
I love this line from Roja Dove’s article:
“Bad smells were believed to be harmful and so the tradition of carrying scent in pomanders became fashionable to protect against illness and plague.”
I wish more of us would adhere to this philosophy on current times!

  • AromaDulce73 says:

Beautiful presentation. Would definitely be nice to have for this Summer. Those coconut and apple notes sound nice.

Steven painted a great picture on how this fragrance puts him by the beach or at an outdoor restaurant by the sea.

This would be my 1st Roja fragrance, I am intending to try a few out soon.

    Los Angeles California USA

  • John Michael Jones says:

Wow hearing Steven say this wasn’t too tropical caught my interest cause after reading the note breakdown with the coconut I was sure this would be tropical. Then he said it doesn’t smell like anything else? Oh man Steven & my wallet don’t get along! Can’t wait to try this! Good luck from Boston!

  • Francisco Roman says:

Im intrigue about the long lasting performance. Elysium is my favorite cologne of all time. My wife love it. Gracias por permitirme participar. Disfruto mucho sus reviews.

  • Kenneth Torres says:

Had a decant of Elysium and really enjoyed it. Love freshies for their uplifting nature and wear them years round.

  • Roja parfums is an amazing house and this release sounds incredible. A sweet crowd pleasing yet intriguing fresh scent. This would take my collection to the next level. Im from Ct USA, Florida

  • This sounds heavenly! A sucker for coconut as a note. My favorite is Elysium from the brand.

  • I am interested in a fresh sent that LASTS. Living in hotter climate (FL) this would be an amazing addition to my collection. <3

  • Jason Horner says:

What’s intriguing about Isola Blu is that it’s pretty much the same fragrance as Oligarch but slightly tweaked and I’m dying to get my nose on it. My favorite Roja creation is a tie between Amber Aoud and Elysium Parfum. I live in Virginia in the US!

“The sand was golden, the sea danced, seagulls cawed, and the sun always shone – and thus it will always be in my memory.”

  • Isola Blu sounds like a luxury vacation in a bottle! I’m really intrigued by a tropical perfume with grass and mate notes. I love how Steven described how the fruity notes stood out, since I’ve really been craving fruity scents lately. Thanks for the opportunity to win! My favorite Roja fragrance is Creation E and I’m in MN, USA.

  • What intrigues me most about this scent is Steven’s description of the bouquet of citrus notes, which sounds incredible. I live in the U.S. in Arizona and the weather is starting to get warm and this sounds like the perfect scent for summer.

My favorite Roja Parfum is Amber Aoud.

In reading The History of British Perfumery by Roja Dove, I really loved this quote: “My love of perfumery started with a goodnight kiss from my mother.”

I think it shows how closely scent is tied to memory and how wonderful it feels to encounter a reminder of those happy moments in life.

  • Darla Bellissimo says:

Lovely Crisp Fragrance For the Spring/Summer.This one I hope to try and wear hopefully soon.

  • Paul Ransom says:

My favorite Roja is Oceania. I’m excited about this new fragrance since Roja doesn’t do many warmer season scents. This scent sounds remarkable and the combination of notes is unique. The blend seems like an ultimate summer fragrance but not a typical citrus or freshie since it has a deeper edge (especially my favorite vetiver) and is long lasting. I’m in New York City..

  • explicitwill says:

One of the most intriguing aspects of Roja Is Parfums Isola Blu is its note breakdown.
Isola Blu is also a fragrance that features a combination of both citrus and floral notes. This blend creates a scent that is both refreshing and sophisticated, making it suitable for a range of occasions. The fragrance is also said to have excellent longevity, making it a worthwhile investment for anyone looking for a long-lasting scent.
Roja Parfums is known for creating high-quality and luxurious fragrances, such as their very popular scent elysium which is one of my favorites. The brand uses only the finest and rarest ingredients to create their scents, which is another reason why this fragrance is worth trying. I do live in the contiguous US and I plan on continuing to keep this brand a part of my vast collection.

  • benmiller412 says:

Amazing review as always…Isola Blu sounds like the perfect summer fragrance – a dream! This fragrance is the epitome of summer with its citrus punch and complex base notes with everything from Tonka (my favorite) to orange blossom. I’ve always admired Roja from its bottle presentation to its longevity. My grandfather always used to wear TDH and although different, this fragrance with its similar DNA reminds me of him. Thanks for the great giveaway and keep up the great work! NY,USA

  • Unfortunately the two Rojas I’ve tried didn’t last at all on my skin so I’ve been hesitant to try anymore but this one sounds interesting. I’m getting into more Spring/Summer fragrances and the coconut, amber and apple sounds perfect.

    Indiana USA

  • Both Steven and Michael are are clearly impressed by Isola Blu. I don’t know the fragrance, but I just know they are right. Almost feels like it’s made for my planned (for months) Mediterranean trip.
Splendid summer fragrance, Isola Blue i like because of the citruses, grassy vetiver , mate tea , and the whole happy vibe.
The other reason I’m interested in Isola Blu, is the comparison Steven made with the only Roja fragrance I have the pleasure of owning – Elysium Pour Homme – the blue bottle.
Like Michael stated , Isola Blue is true Mediterranean meditation , fingers crossed
    Thanks for the draw.

  • I am always interested when it comes to ROJA, his work is hard not to love. This fragrance is made out so many different ingredients, majority of which I love, black currant, jasmine, lavender.
    I am from USA, following on Instagram: @cafleurebonofficial @redolessence @rojadove @rojaparfums

  • Duane Canada says:

Every creation and everything about it is extremely personal. Each has a small inscription on the back – A Fragrance by Roja Dove.

  • This sounds like such a gorgeous fragrance for the summer — the fruit, citrus, coconut sound absolutely divine. I haven’t yet been fortunate enough to try a Roja Parfum but hoping that changes soon! I am located in New York, in the US.

  • What intrigues me about Isola Blu from Roja is that it’s a “freshie” or a citrus based, which I don’t necessarily equate with Roja parfums. Some of the brand’s offerings like Creation-E or Elysium I can wear on warm/hot days, but I’m really looking forward to something a bit out of the norm. I respect Roja as a perfumer and look forward to all his new releases. As he wrote in his Cafleurebon article, “we are living in an age which demands individuality – British perfumery offers a great beacon of light in a world full of the darkness of mediocrity” It’s why we gravitate to the niche scents, and look I forward to trying this one, and more of the British perfumery.

  • Marcelena Campbell says:

What intrigue me are the fruity and citrusy notes and pink pepper combined leather and I love ambergris!! Ready for an amazing vacation scent. The bottle is stunning as well. I live in Los Angeles California USA.

My favorite Rojas are 51, Creation E, Mid summers dream and Elysium!!

  • I’m excited to try a new perfume and Isola Blu sounds very intriguing with the all the citrus notes. Elysium is current favorite and I live in the continental US (Illinois)

  • Steven Says Roja Parfums Isola Blu is a very citrusy tropical fragrances which also has notes like cardamom and coconut. Those who like Oligarch would like Isola Blu as well as those who enjoy Terre d’Hermes. I am in US.

  • NathansFragrance says:

This fragrance sounds so interesting for use in spring and summer. I do love a good beachy scent! I have tried Vetiver Parfum Cologne from Roja Parfums, and it is so divine! I would love to add more of Roja Doves creations into my collection.

  • Raul castellanos says:

Its citrus notes and the juniper fences attract my attention since it is my favorite note, I live in the Texas loop and it is a city with high temperatures and I think that it is perfect for this climate, I have elysium cologne, it is my favorite perfume I just wish it lasted longer.

  • Sounds like it will be a beautiful scent to wear in the spring/summer,would love to get a bottle to smell beautiful in the heat

  • Oh my lorrrrt. When I found out that oligarch was re-releasing, I damn near sh@t myself I was so excited! I really felt like had missed out on such an amazing composition. I really hope and pray that this time I’ll be picked! Good luck to everyone else!

  • Hassan Baig says:

Another great release. I love the note of apple in isola blu and ambergris to add the saltiness. I reside in Chicago IL. Great review by Steven From Redolessence. I am a big fan of Roja Parfum sir Dove is a master perfumer just brilliant. I have Elisium, Apex Parfum, Oceania and I want this. Hope I win! Thanks!

  • I always love Steven reviews of fragrances. Steven’s review of Roja Parfums Isola Blu is wonderful as he describes so well this scent profile and for what occasions (Suumer)). My favorite Roja Parfums is Elysium Pour Homme as it is one of the best unique bright citrus Summer fragrance. Thanks fort this amazing opportunity. Greetings from the USA.

  • When I first started taking an interest in fragrances, the ones I was most drawn to were fresh and aquatic. Today, I have expanded my pallet but my all time favorite blue/summer fragrance is Elysium by Roja Dove. If this is anything like it, it’s gonna be a banger!

  • Reading the notes, it feels like it would be the perfect scent for a Island. That instantly takes me to my honeymoon in the Maldives. Lemon, lime, coconut mixed with some leather sound very fresh and tropical. Looking forward to trying it and hopefully winning.

Current favourite Roja is A Midsummer Dream

  • sammyscents says:

The coconut and vanilla notes are a scent profile I love. I did not have the opportunity to sample oligarch but this sounds like a wonderful fresh with a few gourmand notes. I’m all here for it.

  • I love sailing. I love beautiful landscapes. I love the listed notes of this masterpiece. This sounds like the perfect fragrance to transport me to fantasy land. New Jersey, USA

  • I enjoyed Steven’s review and article. I do enjoy the notes in Isola Blu, especially Lavender and Juniper Berry. Sounds perfect for warmer weather. My favorite fragrance from Roja Dove is United Arab Emigrants. I liked reading about the memory of the family picnics: “We would usually stop and enter a small clearing in the woods.” Thanks for another great review and draw. Mich USA

  • I am loving this bottle! And it sounds unusual for a beach perfume in that it is stronger. I would love to try it! My favorite Roja perfume, and this is a hard question, is Reckless Essence. I love all the Essence perfumes. I am in the USA. Thanks for the review!

  • So excited for this. The bottle looks amazing. I would be glad to be entered in the giveaway
    Chinmay
    -Irving, Texas

  • What intrigues me is how this scent would smell like vacation in the summer on a boat riding to a tropical island. I adore coconut scents and really excited to try this scent as my summer scent.

It def doesn’t sound like just any generic summer warm scent fragrance and thats what I love about it

    From New York City USA

  • Must be wonderful the smell of that fragrance the notes look amazing very fresh moving your mind to paradise with the beach and the sea. I can’t wait to put my nose on those notes. Shout out to Roja parfums for bring amanzing fragrances to people who really like smell amazing. Thanks Steven for the review.
    Alejandro. Florida, US.

  • bhernandez says:

Roja Parfums Isola Blu description and Stephen video makes this a summer king fragrance.
The top notes of lemon? Bergamoto, and citruses, plus the long lasting due to the many notes, makes this a scent I would like to get my hands on.

Thanks Twisted Lily, and çafleurebon for this giveaways.

    From USA

  • It’s almost summer vacation time, and this looks like the perfect thing to bring along! Apex is my current favorite from Roja Dove. NV, USA.

  • Such a high level of perfumery Roja Dove is, there’s no denying it.
Steven and Michael combined take on Isola Blu
made me think of making Orange Blossom Apple Cake, and drinking Matte tea , while sitting on the beach on some uninhabited Mediterranean island. Upscale serene Summer fragrance I’d love to win.
Sweetie Aoud , fragrance made to mimic the smell of French Pastry Shop, and particularly freshly baked croissants is my favorite Roja Dove , Creation-E is my second favorite , hard to get invited into , old private gentleman’s club , with cognac and tobacco smell lingering all over it.
Appreciate the two reviews , and the giveaway campaign
    USA

  • I did not know that Roja Dove was a guest contributor to Cafleurebon, nor that Isola Blu was Oligarch in its past incarnation. Love Steven’s video review and I am a Redolessence subscriber too. From Steven’s video review, I gather that it is a lovely citrusy perfume with some dark and gourmand touches to it. Love the bottle. Unfortunately have not tried any Roja Dove perfumes as they are quite pricey. Hope to start with some samples some time. I am impressed by the large list of notes. Thanks for the review and a very generous draw. I am in the contiguous USA.

  • what most attracts my attention about isola blue, is that it is probably the replacement for Oligarch but more marine (I guess), and the fragrance that I like the most from Roja is Scandal parfum cologne, it is the most complimented of my collection

  • Thank you for this review of another beautiful Roja Dove. I’ve only owned Enigma/Creation-E and Elysium from the house and both are top bangers on my list with a slight bias for Creation-E. I’d love to visit that mythical island while smelling fabulous 🙂 I’m glad to hear Steve’s opinion that one who likes Elysium will like Isola Blu. I’m in TX USA

  • I loved the imagery Michael provided in his comments – wearing white linen while strolling down the Mediterranean coast sounds like a most realxing way to spend the summer. Alas, those of us who are living in a different reality must depend on fragrances to take us there. Steven mentioned this one being lively and vibrant, perfect for summer. He also talked about it giving those wonderful summer vacation vibes without being tropical, which I really appreciate. I love scents that give you a familiar feel without being redundant. I always heard good things about Oligarch so I’m pleased to see it was rereleased with a new name.I desperately need to expand my summer scent collection and I believe this would be a perfect addition. I live in NC, USA.

  • This fragrance sounds like Summertime in a very beautiful bottle. The notes are perfect. Great review. I haven’t sampled this Fragrance house. Isola Blu had me interested.Thank you for this Chance USA

  • This fragrance has intrigued me for quite a while. Roja really loves his chypre fragrances this seems to be toward the other direction that he went with Oceania. A bit on the fresher side with some darker nuances. Seems like something that could be someones signature scent and I think the new name is now perfect for the scent profile. Not to mention the blue crystals are stunning on the bottle. My current favorite Roja fragrance that I have smelled is Apex Parfum. I hope to one day save up enough to get a bottle this might be next on the list to save up for as well! Cheers from Texas, USA!

  • liquidasset77 says:

A perfectly-fitting scent for the person who desires to make a statement and draw people into their charm and charismatic persona. A scent that bursts with fresh, ripe fruit followed by an intoxicating heart accord for a truly unforgettable signature of summer. WOW!!! MICHIGAN USA

  • Amanda32828 says:

I feel very intrigued by the beautiful name and by the notes listed in this beautiful fragrance. I’m a fan of all citrusy fragrances, so I’m sure that this one will be another very enticing perfume for me. I agree with Steven just the name itself gives me summer vibes in a beautiful island in some hidden area of the mediterranean. Just like many of the Roja Parfums I’m sure this perfume quality speaks for itself. Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this giveaway, commenting from Orlando, Fl. USA.

  • I’m ready for some summer scents! Isola Blu sounds like a perfect Mediterranean fragrance. The citrus and herb opening and the fruit and floral middle sit nicely on the grass and wood base. I’m not sure what part of the Mediterranean the coconut is from, but the nod to the beach is evident, Favorite Roja fragrance is Apex. MD, USA.

  • FragranceIsMe says:

The note breakdown listed for Roja Dove creations always seems to leave me in awe. They are so complex. In their complexity, I always find something artistically beautiful.
Isola Blue, per Michael and Steven seems as though this is a creation destined to provide it’s wearers an olfactive island journey. I’ll bring my flip-flops 🙂

I have read Roja’s article and found it very informative. However, the one item that really stood out for me was, “The Power of a Mother’s Goodnight Kiss”.

Thank you Twisted Lily for this wonderful opportunity.
    Pennsylvania, USA

  • Anything that conjures the image of the Mediterranean (which the images help) is usually an easily likable scent. The note breakdown is wild as always from a Roja. Diaghilev is my favorite Roja Parfum. Thank you, Southern CA here.

  • ilikecolognes says:

Wow that botttle is absolutely beautiful. I just got done watching stevens video on isola blu and i have to say it sounds like an awesome fragrances. id really love to try this one out now that he weather is heating up. ive only gotten to experience 2 roja fragrances. i have a bottle of elysium and i have a sample of oceania, elysium is such a magical fragrance so id have to say thats my favorite. goodluck to everyone in the giveaway

    New Orleans, LA

  • Ive been searching for a summer fragrance that i like for the last 3 years. I have found a few that i like such as Roja elysium, Creed Aventus, and Virgin island water, however it always feels like something is missing from them. I hope Roja’s Isola blu will finally be the perfume to end my search. As mentioned the citruses and fruity notes along with a underlying warmth of ambergris sound like something i would enjoy greatly. “Although it is not common knowledge, nor general opinion, it is important to understand and remember that Britain has a great heritage in perfumery” until ive discovered roja dove i only though perfumes came from france and Italy. The introduction to british perfumery has opened my eyes to another side of great prefumery.

  • I am in need of a tropical island escape and this fragrance could just do the trick! The list of notes described by Steven sound amazing and I would love to try it for myself. I have watched several interviews with Mr. Roja Dove and he seems like such a kind, intelligent and thoughtful person. Elysium is my favorite from the house. I live in KY/USA

  • Hello from California! I have not tried any fragrances from Roja before but always here great things about them. This in particular sounds perfect for summer and I absolutely love coconut in fragrances. Would love to be able to get my nose on this one, and the bottle!! simply gorgeous.

  • I am a huge fan of the house. Elysium is my warm weather favorite and also Creation E is my favorite for cold weather. When it comes to bottle design, packaging, and quality of the juice, NO ONE BEATS ROJA !! This isola blue bottle looks incredible and it was released with perfect timing !! I unfortunately never owned oligarch but i have heard nothing but positive remarks. I would love to win but congrats to whoever does because this has to be incredible.

  • Thank you for another great review Steven!
Only Roja Dove can blend Lavender, coconut, maté, ambergris and 26 other notes to create what sounds like a smooth, fresh, and sophisticated masterpiece. Last year I fell in love with Enigma Parfum pour homme. I have worn it a lot, and made some wonderful memories.
Greetings from the Queen City, Charlotte North Carolina.

  • FragranceWoman says:

Isola Blu is something I have been waiting for: Roja’s tropical adventure. I was curious to see how Roja would create a tropical cologne without hitting the sun tan/coconut drink smell problem. The notes illustrate the path he took and it seems like he was able to create a stunning perfume basef on Steven’s review.
My favorite of Roja is Amber Oud. It’s a wearable unisex oud with a touch of amber that is mesmerizing.
Thank you for the reviews, Michael and Steven.
    NJ, USA

  • Joan Mansbach says:

Isola Blu sounds so intriguing. It’s always been roses for me but this sparks my interest. The allure of apple, black currant, jasmine, coconut, and orange blossom transports me to an Island retreat. Count me in. I’m in the U.S. and would be delighted to win this Roja prize.

  • l love the notes in the fragrances lime, bergamot, coconut and orange blossom. Steven gave a lovely review of this scent and I really am so interested in this. I do not have a favorite Roja Dove scent yet, but hopefully this could be the one for me. I love in the USA,

  • Oh boy, I am such a huge fan of Roja Parfums, being Oceania my favorite one yet.
based on Stevens review, Isola Blue is the perfect fragrance for vacations. I love that the lime, beragamot and lemon is present and this is a spring and summer fragrance. I love bright and energetic fragrances with a twist and this seems abouta it. I would love to try it.
    VA USA here.

  • Roja parfums is an amazing house. Love many perfumes from this beautiful brand.
This sounds like a citrus fruity masterpiece- woody and not tropical as in photo .
    USA, DE

  • What interests me most about this fragrance is that it is a long lasting freshie (10 hours? wow!) with fruity nuances. I’m a fan of citrus, but it can be a bit boring when the only fruits are citrus. I put time on so many things, so I became really interested when Steven mentioned it is the most prominent citrus. My favorite Roja is honestly tough to chose because most of them are amazing. If I had to pick, I would say Diaghilev. I will buy it one day but right now I’m holding onto this sample I got a few months ago and I literally smell it every night.
    Cheers from Illinois, USA!

  • petergigov says:

Isola Blu i have no experience with. Leaning tropical, but not in a coconut suntan lotion way doesn’t bother me one bit , I enjoy it.
The the best citruses available , apple , spices , all smoothen with mate tea. Sounds really, really good, and I also think very much lavish Summer fragrance.
I’m also curious about how good of a fragrance Isola is, if
Michael Devine would characterize it as “Mediterranean meditation”?
Favorite Roja Dove Vetiver Pour Homme Parfum Cologne and Creation-E Parfum . Both I’m a huge fan of , both are in my possession.
    Another overly exciting giveaway, USA
    Regards

  • Very detailed introduction and review by Steven. I’m very intrigued in the maté component of this fragrance. I’ve seen multiple advertisements and promotes this as a tea with more caffeine, but I’m interested to see how this plays in the overall idea of a tropical fragrance. From TX, USA.

  • The energetic citrus with some depth in the base as Steven described Isola Blu intrigues me. My favorite Roja is currently Oceania. I’m in UT, USA.

The whole blend intrigues me BUT I’m most interested in that grass note! I love the smell of fresh cut grass so I can’t wait to get my nose on this (winning it or not). My favorite Roja is the only one I own; Elysium Parfum Cologne. It’s an amazing scent.

  • WaltherP99 says:

It’s not a secret, since Roja posted it on IG , but basically Isola Blue was almost released as Oligarch Parfum, but the name was changed at the last minute for … obvious reasons.
Now the two fragrances are quite similar indeed, but not exactly the same, the notes are tweaked , and at least on the they do develop differently. While Oligarch is more dry , more earthy with decent amount of violet , Isola Blu is fresher, less herbal , fruity, with easily detectable freshly cut grass , maté tea, pinch of something dark and smoky, probably coming from the birch. Unlike Michael in the base I don’t get even traces of patchouli, iris or vanilla .
Between the two , in my opinion Isola Blu is easily the better choice if you’re looking for new upper-class Summer fragrance.
If I have to rate my favorite Roja Dove fragrances:
    1. Vintage paper label Enigma Pure Parfum
    2. Sweetie Aoud or Manhattan
    3. Bergamot Extrait (discontinued)
    All profiles I already follow, including @hauteparfumerie , @waltherp99bg

This sounds like a delightful fragrance from the venerable house of Roja. Never been able to smell a perfume of their’s, so I’d be intrigued to finally try one and that signature Roja use of Ambergris and oakmoss. Sounds like a divine combination. I will probably never be on a yacht in the Mediterranean, but it sounds like Isola Blu could get me close to that feeling.

What intrigues me about Roja Parfums Isola Blu is the bright, captivating, and complex note breakdown of citrus notes, fresh florals, and tea notes. This sounds truly divine and I think Steven described it beautifully in perfect detail really capturing the true essence of this fragrance. My favorite fragrance from Roja Parfums is Enigma/Creation-E. I am from Ohio, USA.

  • I am so intrigued by the citrus and fruity nature of this scent. I live in CT and hopefully it will be warm soon. Currently have Elysium and Apex, and am looking forward to adding this to my collection.

  • Regis Monkton says:

I’m very intrigued to try Roja Parfums “Isola Blu” for many reasons. “Elysium” is one of my favorite fragrances, so I believe I would like this new one too, e.g. I like the bright citrus in “Elysium” and “Isola Blu” seems to have it too. Also, I like the notes listing for this new one. I like to hear that it has good performance. I live in MD, U.S.A.

  • Haven’t tried anything from Roja but would love for this to be my first. Seem to be a perfect summer scent as well summer to fall transitional fragrance. “En route we would break the journey for a picnic. We would usually stop and enter a small clearing in the woods. I wish I knew where that spot was.” -Roja Dove

  • Isola Blu sounds like a really interesting paradise-getaway fragrance and I’m most intrigued by the heart notes. That combination of grassy green and ambergris reminds me of Green Irish Tweed, and I suspect it grounds this Roja Parfums fragrance, versus just focusing on sun, sand, citrus, and seaside flowers. I haven’t tried any Roja perfumes and I’d love to try this one. Also, thanks for linking to Roja’s History of British Perfumery. I love his description of holiday drives with his father: “My over-riding memory was that of the smell of the little primus-stove which was filled with paraffin I think to be able to make fresh tea. My mother didn’t like the idea or approve of tea from a thermos flask. The smell of the paraffin mingled with the scent of the countryside. It was raw, aggressive – omnipotent. It jarred. Maybe it is why I remember its odour so clearly so many years later.”

    I’m in the contiguous U.S.

Cafleurebon and Roja close to 10 years of cooperation comes to no surprise to me.
“Having worked to create the world’s first Haute Parfumerie in Harrods, which has started a global trend, and having made bespoke perfumes for years”
    +
“Every creation and everything about it is extremely personal. Each has a small inscription on the back”
Bespoke fragrances is what Roja is known for , i’m a tailor who makes bespoke suits , we match well
I’ll gladly wear Isola Blu, such throwback to the classics refined fragrance , yet so 2023 . The posh zesty woody combination , “lively pink pepper” , mossy too with patchouli is so …me. I can see myself wearing it with Zegna fabrics Off-White Herringbone Linen suit.
Roja Dove is an expert in all he does , no wonder almost all fragrance enthusiasts , and critics puts him on such pedestal. My favorite Roja Dove is Amber Aoud Absolue Precieux. Mesmerizing scent , Elysium Pour Homme Parfum Cologne is one of my go-to fragrances for the few past years .

  • A very well-made summer citrus fragrance but with a lot more going on in the base. Reckless is an all-year-rounder favorite from this house and this one will shine in hot Texan summer nights!

  • I’ve always been a fan of Steven reviews, way before he came to Cafleurebon, yet there’s some i believe slightly contradicting information in his review. I mean it can’t be just me who catch it :
00:39 -> The newest release by the company Roja Parfums
01:17 -> You can take a bottle of the brand new Isola Blu
    But then:
    02:14 -> Here’s a fragrance formally known as Oligarch
03:30 -> Obviously if you have experience with Oligarch chances are you’re gonna love this fragrance
I love the Isola Blu review, and since I’ve sampled it , i also love Oligarch, but I’m a bit confused about the story between the two. Is Isola Blu some sort of flanker,or continuation to Oligarch? Judging by “the chances are” line, i now believe Isola Blu is not just Oligarch in a new presentation, but something slightly different, correct?
If it’s not too much of a hassle for you , please continue with double reviews, sometimes there are interesting differences between how the two contributors feel about certain fragrances 🙂
Steven – > birch, resins and vetiver hidden accord
    Michael -> orris, oakmoss, cedar
All Roja fragrances I have smelled are deep , and never linear , and Isola Blu is one of those unique summer gems you’ll never forget. I love the addition of the grass and mate to all other pleasing notes.
Michael and Steven co-review, and my knowledge of Oligarch, almost brought me to Italy , sitting on the balcony of a luxury seafront villa in Sicily with striking port views, clear pool and stunning location enjoying the sunset with sparkling Key Lime Cocktail with thyme.
On the next day I could do what Michael Devine suggested
“Grab your white linen shirt and climb aboard the yacht”
I’ve read Roja and Cafleurebon collaboration before
“Many people make comment and opine about it – generally very kindly – but I have never spoken openly about my decision to launch a commercial brand. My mother once said how sad she was that with this generation of the family, the family name dies out.”
    Impressive approach , applauses
Risque for Men i love and own , phenomenal scent , and the best Roja Dove fragrance i’m familiar with .
Inspired by the co-review, and Isola Blu, I’ll treat myself with Key Lime Cocktail with thyme
Cheers, and thank you for the opportunity

    Thanks for the review, Steven!

The presentation of Isola blue is really fantastic – totally evokes a nice beach side holiday.

I love the opening of lime, lemon in this fragrance, along with all the fruitiness to tie it together. The use of coconut in this fragrance seems to me to evoke more of a beach holiday vibe rather than to tie in with the Mediterranean theme. I do find that the touch of Mate is pretty neat in this.

Sounds like another summer must have! Elysium is on my wish list, but I haven’t tried any other Roja frags yet.

  • philfresh2 says:

So glad to find out about this site. I have Roja’s Elysium and find it very complex as a blue fragrance. What intrigues m the most about Isola Blu is the blend of vanilla and tonka bean with the earthy elements. Seems like a common type of fresh blue woody fragrance but with the sweetness of coconut, vanilla, and tonka bean. Would love to put my nose to this one!

  • Christopher Dorsett says:

I love to own Roger ISOlA blue. Also love the notes their citrus the coconut and all the other notes that’s in there.

  • Emanuel Delgado says:

Ambergris, juniper berries, this has so many interesting notes. Roja dove is always quality. Would love to add this to my collection. Emanuel in Montclair California us.
