Ramon Monegal Atractone Musk Review (Ramon Monegal) 2022+ “Dreams made flesh” giveaway

Ramon Monegal Atractone Musk

Ramon Monegal Attractone Musk by Nicoletta

Putting Ramone  Monegal Atractone Musk on my skin instantly took me back to a memory I haven’t accessed for more than 20 years. An endless holiday morning in my summer city by the seaside, the breeze moving the freshly washed curtain, still smelling of ivory soap, and painfully clear blue skies. In the background: MTV’s “Alternative Nation” morning re-run, and in the foreground: me, sand in my hair, eye bags under my eyes, salty sea skin –  being as intensely  dramatic as only a teen packing for a festival could ever be. MTV Garbage’s “Milk” was on heavy rotation these days. Remember the lyrics?

Video still from Garbage “Milk” 1996

 I am milk
I am red hot kitchen
And I am cool
Cool as the deep blue ocean

So what does Ramon Monegal Atractone Musk smell like? In short: red, white, and deep-as-the-ocean sensual.

“… In my years as a perfumer, I’ve learnt that scents exist to identify and communicate values. This olfactory language is communicated unconsciously through the olfactory image the scent evokes. When I wear Attractone Musk  it’s the law of attraction, desire and a connection with life that is communicated via myself.”.-Ramon Monegal

A flower bouquet blooms on the skin, alternating between hot and cold and bouncing between white and red, attraction and release, like a pulsating fragrant heart. It feels hot on the skin and deeply red: a sensual jasmine has its most animalic and sexual facets lured to the surface by cumin, turning it up to a red hot degree. Then come well-tempered watery nuances of a spring bouquet made out of lily of the valley and cyclamen, to cool things down a bit and keep things classy and more in the realm of “art house naughty” than full-on X-rated.

Uplifting shades of white come to play next: waves breaking on the steep stones of the shore, the ocean foam particles are raised in the air and float towards the fluffy summer clods giving it even more added layers of purity and transparency in a whirlwind of ozonic, aldehydes and mineral facets. There is a hit of cosmetic sweetness interwoven between the petals here, like the whisper of a raspberry lip gloss, adding yet another carnal element to the seemingly innocent floral construction and perfect sweet juxtaposition to the salty mineral oceanic twist.  As always, with Monegal’s creations, things are never what they seem, and just when you thought you have caught the rhythm, a new beat resurfaces: woody notes of creamy sandalwood and cedar come to add a perfectly unisex frame to the floral picture. After a while the scent turns into a “my skin but amplified” radiant musk, hovering and pulsating above, like an iridescent white armor one would wear to attract Cupid’s red hot arrows, not deflect them.

Ramon Monegal Atractone Musk is, to the core, a beautiful musky floral bouquet. But it has the ethereal, floating, suspended in time quality of a carefully reconstructed and re-composed memory, with all its multifaceted layers of subjectivity. Imagine a flower that dreamt it was human.

If this mortal coil sang of “Dreams made flesh”, Senor Monegal composed a Flower-made flesh here.

Notes: Top: Ozonic, Aldehydes, Baies rose, Cumin, Cashmeran; Heart: Jasmine, Lily of the valley, Lilac, Cyclamen; Base: Sandalwood, Musk cocktail, Amber, Raspberry

Im curious about the red and White mix vibe. The rasberry touch. The memories of MTV alternative playing in the backround. Im from Europe, Croatia:)

  • Sorohan Adriana says:

As Nicoleta said in her review Ramon Monegal Atractone Musk is essentially a beautiful muscat floral bouquet. I hope I enjoy it.
    I am from EU

  • As I read the review, it almost seems like Ramon Monegal Atractone Musk is a modernized version of classic female fragrances. One can see classic dna in this composition but this is a more playful floral-woody composition for the modern era. I am in US.

  • Nicoleta I loved your hazy roses review and bought it blind,
I didn’t know what to expect with ATRACTONE Musk thinking it would smell chemical like by the name.
Imagine a flower that dreamt it was human stopped me in my tracks
Salty, fruity musky floral I must try this
    I live in the Eu

  • Bryant Worley says:

I appreciated her pointing out the unisexity (yes, that is a word [that I just made up;-D])

I also appreciated: “There is a hit of cosmetic sweetness interwoven between the petals here, like the whisper of a raspberry lip gloss, adding yet another carnal element to the seemingly innocent floral construction and perfect sweet juxtaposition to the salty mineral oceanic twist.”, along with the change in rhythm: “As always, with Monegal’s creations, things are never what they seem, and just when you thought you have caught the rhythm, a new beat resurfaces: woody notes of creamy sandalwood and cedar come to add a perfectly unisex frame to the floral picture.”

I live in Waldorf, Maryland, USA, and I, unfortunately, have never tried a Monegal fragrance.

  • This fragrance sounds very unique from the base of the review and the noes. But I like unique scents. thank you for the draw. I live in Europe.

  • Atractone Musk seems to be a theatrical piece, each note fallen into place, a play where you can choose your own character and reveal yourself , as always a great review from Nicoleta, from Romania with love!

  • Johnmc500 says:

    Wow. The fragrance sounds amazing.
The layers of notes. Sounds like a picnic without the ants or bugs.

Today Atractone Musk , and Nicoleta review both left me with the overall impression that I’m smelling Jaenelle Angelline , who just came to liberate all the races in all the Realms of the Blood . I guess no else but Nicoleta and me will get mine , and her “Dreams made flesh” remarks, so I’ll have to look at “Atractone Musk” from a fragrance perspective , the thing i like the most is the contrast between the delicate floral-fruity parts, and the slightly carnal undertones.
It’s not easy for me to rate my 3 favorite Ramon Monegal fragrances, so I’ll name a few Flamenco , Next to Me , Olé , Faisa,Soul of Oud and Bravo
    All profiles I already follow,i also follow @lauramonegal and @oscarmonegal , @waltherp99bg
    Thanks a lot

  • Beautiful bottle! Musk with sandalwood and raspberry sound right up my alley! Thank you!

  • Flower made flesh? How can you not be intrigued? I have not tried any of Mr. Monegal’s creations. NV, USA.

  • “Imagine a flower that dreamt it was human.” So poetic, like the perfume itself

My favorite, so far, is Next to me

I live in Portugal and I really hope to be able the try his new creation on my skin soon.

  • Nikolina_84 says:

What sparked my interest is this Nicoleta’s description of the perfume: “A flower bouquet blooms on the skin, alternating between hot and cold and bouncing between white and red, attraction and release, like a pulsating fragrant heart.” Wow, I’m in love already!

Notes: Top: Ozonic, Aldehydes, Baies rose, Cumin, Cashmeran; Heart: Jasmine, Lily of the valley, Lilac, Cyclamen; Base: Sandalwood, Musk cocktail, Amber, Raspberry. I am intrigued by the notes especially Rose, cumin, sandalwood, Raspberry and amber. I love this house my favourite is Cafe del Mar. Thanks a million from the UK

  • Notes: Top: Ozonic, Aldehydes, Baies rose, Cumin, Cashmeran; Heart: Jasmine, Lily of the valley, Lilac, Cyclamen; Base: Sandalwood, Musk cocktail, Amber, Raspberry. I am just intrigued by the notes especially Sandalwood being my favourite. This is a house that I am not familiar with but I am intrigued by Nicoleta review. Thanks a lot from the UK

  • A floral bouquet, and inside a flower that is dreaming to be a girl perfumed with “Atractone Musk”

    I live in Portugal

  • Denise B. says:

A musky floral bouquet with aldehydes, evoking ocean foam, fluffy clouds, raspberry lip gloss, and creamy sandalwood? This sounds right up my alley! So far, the only Ramon Monegal I’ve tried is Cherry Musk, which was wonderful but it worked better on a male fried than on me. From Michigan, USA

  • patrick_348 says:

This sounds like a floral with just enough masculine elements, like the cumin and the cedar, to make it wearable by a guy like me. I’d love to win it, or at least sample it. I am in the US, in North Carolina.

  • Giorgia295 says:

Love all the musks in this line. This sounds good as well!!
Would be amazing to try it.
    Greetings from Italy

  • “Imagine a flower that dreamt it was human.” Gorgeous prose and imagery! I love cumin in fragrances, I find it sexy and that it adds so much interest to a perfume that could be boring and too clean. My only concern is cashmeran as I don’t get along with it if it’s too prominent, as in Alien. I adore the Raymond Monegal bottles but haven’t tried any yet. In USA

  • Oo, a sensual, summery musk! This one sounds wonderful, oscillating between hot and cold animalic, sensual, skin smelling notes. I love how Nicoleta based her review on colours!
    I’m in eu

  • The exquisite notes of this fragrances and how unique it is really sparks my interest. I live in Poland, EU. I never tried any Ramon Monegal fragrances but if I wanted to buy one I would go with Sunset Cafe.

  • I have never tried Ramon Monegal’s perfumes but given the glowing reviews on Cafleurebon, I am aching to try some. Beautiful review by Nicoleta of Ramon Monegal Attractone Musk. It seems to have many nuances which only a master of the art can create. Loved the quote by Ramon Monegal and especially this conclusion by Nicoleta – “Ramon Monegal Atractone Musk is, to the core, a beautiful musky floral bouquet. But it has the ethereal, floating, suspended in time quality of a carefully reconstructed and re-composed memory, with all its multifaceted layers of subjectivity. Imagine a flower that dreamt it was human.” Thanks for the review and draw. From USA.

  • Ramon Monegal’s Attractone Musk sounds like a very feminine floral woody musk. I like the introduction of raspberry with the musk. The top notes sound like a fizzy introduction. The heart is a beautiful bouquet of flowers. The base of woods, musk and amber with the aforementioned raspberry is a plush mix. I love the interplay of red and white in the ad copy. Favorite Monegal is Flamenco. I’m in MD, USA.

  • I am a floral lover my self, in fact my first perfume I got from my father was a floral one, so after trying so many through years I still preffer floral ones. This amazing fragrance seems like something I would totally adore, a floral bouquet made from top notch quality and with a singular personality to stand out.
My favorite Ramon Monegal fragrance is Entre Naranjos
    USA here.

  • ElenaChiss says:

This would be the great gift to… myself lol
I love musks and florals and Atractone Musk has plenty of both. What’s not to like here?
    Thank you

  • realtyisme says:

I can feel the intensity of the contrast of this Ramon Monegal creation thanks to Nicoleta’s gift of presenting an olfactory experience that allow’s my imagination to run free. The notes in this fragrance sound wonderful and present a symphony of notes that I eagerly look forward to experiencing.
Currently, one of my favorites in my collection from Ramon Monegal is Mon Patchouly. The blend of Patchouli and Jasmine just own my olfactory senses.
I live in Willow Grove, PA, USA

  • Wow, Atractone Musk definitely sounds like a chameleon. Sensual, sexual yet artistic. Ozonic and oceanic, but fragrant of jasmine and cumin. Then some pure water flowers, a cosmetic touch and woods.
Sounds like quite a trip I’m totally willing to take!
    I live in the EU.

  • Nicoleta wonderful review. Ramon Monegal Atractone Musk sounds perfect for Summertime. Beautiful Musky floral bouquet. Thank you for this Chance USA

  • I must admit, I never tried any Ramone Monegal perfume, though I’ve heard and read about them.
Atractone Musk seems like a perfect scent to start exploring this house.
I love aldehydes and ozonic notes that evoke purity and transparency and Nicoleta said it beautifully: it has the ethereal, floating, suspended in time quality of a carefully reconstructed and re-composed memory.

  • I love when I read a review and can feel a lot of mystery around a scent, even when the notes are spelled out. Something so complex to characterize must be worthy of extra attention, since it’s so different from other scents. I haven’t tried any Ramon Monegal fragrances before.

  • Uncle1979 says:

Nicoleta Tomsa take on Atractone Musk made me think of making the iconic Raspberry Pretzel Salad , also known as Raspberry Pretzel Jello , especially in the Southern States.
I imagined making it, and later on going on a date with my girlfriend, both eating the sweet and salty dessert , while sitting in the middle of a big field of flowers
Both Atractone Musk and Raspberry Pretzel Salad are a bit sweet, a bit salty, romantic and playful.
The only Ramon Monegal fragrance i know is Bravo. I had a small decant , and now a full bottle. In my Pastry Chef mind , smells like I’m eating Chocolate Ganache Cake with Cassis, drinking freshly squeezed apricot juice , sitting on a leather sofa.
Appreciate the review, and the giveaway campaign

  • Southirina says:

Fire and ice, hot and cold, sensual and pure. This duality makes Atractone Musk multidimensional, it covers many layers and possibilities. I love that ” when you thought you have caught the rhythm, a new beat resurfaces”.
    Hugs from Romania

  • The pulsating heart aspect is so interesting! I enjoy light cosmetic notes and it sounds like they would have an interesting affect against the mineral aspects; that’s an area of makeup perfumes I rarely see explored. I have yet to try anything by Ramon Monegal. USA

  • NituNicolae says:

Ramon Monegal make some of the best fragrances out there. Sensual, seductive, warm and oriental. This is not exception. Including raspberry and cumin with cashmeran to make an olfactory journey. EU

  • IvanVelikov says:

Nicoleta Toms moody review of Attractone Musk almost transported me to Ibiza. The mixture is mysterious, and inviting at the same time.
Never had a chance to smell Ramon Monegal fragrances , but I have to say Attractone Musk sounds great , floral , marine and woody fragrance for a free spirited person.
Thank you Nicoleta , and Ramon Monegal

  • wandering_nose says:

Ah thank you Nicoleta! Just like I used to be a major fan of Garbage and “Milk” was one of their hit songs I would absolutely obsess about, I am now finding myself enthralled with Atractone Musk from the very get-go. A deep-as-the-ocean fragrance that communicates the law of attraction, desire and a connection with life sounds so endlessly drawing to me! Love the choice of notes, from both the warm and cool realms, their interplay must be nothing short of intoxicating. The cumin providing a carnal touch and the raspberry gloss adding youthful sexiness into the mix. The salty mineral oceanic twist piques my attention a good deal too, along with the masculine leaning woody base. Also, somehow the packaging makes the contents even more appealing to me. My favorite Ramon Monegal fragrance is Mon Patchouly. I am based in EU

  • safegotem says:

This fragrance sounds very unique from the base of the review and the notes. The presentation is very nice.

I vaguely remember the name of the band – Garbage , such grunge and neo-rock groups were very popular in the early-mid 90’s, but I can’t say i know even one of their songs.
Atractone Musk i think is opulent and sexy ambery-floral fragrance , with light oceanic feel.
The review, and the notes made me think of Spain and going on a walk with a classy lady on Puente de las Flores , or the Flower Bridge of Pelargoniums , the famous date location at the public park Jardinines del Turia in Valencia, Spain.
Cherry Musk and #CaféDelMar are my two favorites from the house, both smell awesome, and are true compliment magnets
    Exciting giveaway, USA

  • This sounds interesting because it adds some unique notes to a very friendly amber/sandalwood base. Thank you for the opportunity to try this. Tennessee, USA

  • Michael Prince says:

What interests me about Ramon Monegal Atractone Musk based on Nicoleta’s review is how she describes in vivid detail how this beautiful musky and floral bouquet really captured my attention. I would love to try this. My favorite Ramon Monegal perfume is Flamenco. I am from the USA.

  • I am so interested to try this based on the idea of a “my skin but amplified” dry down, and the combo of jasmine and Lily of the valley. I haven’t tried any fragrances from this perfumer, so I don’t have a favourite (yet!). Thank you for the review, writing from the Eu.

  • What a unique take on a floral. The idea of taking you back to a hazy memory is interesting and delightful. I can’t wait to try it. In maryland.

  • Beautiful review Nicoleta! Red and white, Deep and sensual you suggest as Ramón Monegal says that Atractone shows the laws of attraction, desire and a connection with life. The beautiful bubbling video Monegal shows in his webpage gives us this hot and cold contrasting images : the translation in a scent with jasmin/cumin/aldehyds against lilly/muguete/cyclamen. (I loved your comparison between “art house naughty” than an X-rated film). A great ending to this pulsating perfume with sandalwood and cedar to “unisex” the floral picture shown before. Great work. I live in Spain, EU.

  • foreverscents says:

I always love Nicoleta’s reviews, especially when she writes about a scent memory. I like the description of Atractone Musk’s sensuality as being art house naughty. I love jasmine, raspberry, and sandalwood notes.
I haven’t tried anything from Ramon Monegal.
    I live in the USA.

  • Regis Monkton says:

I can like musky, woody, floral, ozonic, aldehydic, mineralic fragrances and this one seems like it has all of that. I’ve never tried anything from Ramon Monegal, and I hope to start trying his fragrance releases soon. I live in the U.S.A.

  • All Ramon Monegal fragrances I’ve tried are all provocative, powerful , and almost bohemian.
Nicoleta Tomsa review made me believe through Atractone Musk I’ll be able to hear the song of the sea , to smell the flowers he brought me, and the blood pulse is rising, the night is ours.
One of my favorite fragrances is Impossible Iris – Ramon Monegal. Modern and cozy fruity-floral.
    Thanks for the draw
    USA

  • The concept of a flower dreaming itself to be human intrigues me. It sounds like a sensual, intoxicating fragrance. Based in the UK.

  • Wow, I haven’t thought about Garbage in a while! Thanks for the fun review Nicoleta. My wife is particularly fond of indolic jasmine fragrances, so I think she’d really dig this one, and the salty mineral notes and hit of raspberry differentiate this from many jasmines I’ve tried. We also both love Lily of the Valley—especially when used with a delicate touch.

I’m in the midwest, USA. I haven’t tried any Ramon Monegal perfumes.

  • Nicoleta drew a picture in my mind, how I’m wearing my Burberry black evening dress and Black Leather Dashwood Pumps i bought from Nordstrom, and I’m in some fancy restaurant with my husband.
Why not add a few White Chocolate Raspberry Martini to the picture? Seductive potion made by Ramon Monegal, what I expect from Atractone Musk.
The best Ramon Monegal fragrance I think is Mon Patchouly, half chocolate, half earthy patchouli with amber and incense. Performance is awesome
    Thank you for the opportunity

Thanks for the great review Nicoleta.

Reading through this review, for some reason (perhaps the red and white color scheme), I am reminded of Sakura Cherry Blossoms.

I really love how Ramon Monegal has chosen to highlight musk in this fragrance through the use of indolic and floral jasmine, red fruit, and airy oceanic and atmospheric notes. It sounds like a beautiful composition.

I have not had the chance to try this perfumer before.

    Cheers from WI, USA
