Paris Perfume Week 2025
What is there possibly not to like? Paris, Springtime and Perfume, Perfume, Perfume. No matter now often I visit this incredible city, it never fails to seduce and conquer me, a relatively short TGV ride and I am in the center of it all. This was the 2nd presentation of the extremely successful Paris Perfume Week, the creation of Dominique Brunel and the competent team at Nez.The inaugural Perfume Week in 2024 was such a resounding success that it was inevitable that this much-appreciated formula would continue.
Paris and Perfume Week
Paris Perfume Week 2025 (March 20-23), is the second edition and it has grown; more fragrance brands exhibiting and certainly a lot more offerings of conferences, workshops and invitations to boutiques and ateliers around Paris. I got my quota of footsteps in over the duration of the week and a superb knowledge of the Paris Metro! Paris Perfume Week is a completely different feeling to other perfume events, partially due to its environs and the magic that is Paris but also due to its convivial atmosphere, relaxed and inclusive. Here the public mingle with the rest of us, press, perfumers and brands alongside the best-known figures in modern Perfumery. The chance to meet the brands and perfumers and to attend the many interesting events. It’s a full calendar; the difficulty is to choose what to attend. Imagine a little flight of fancy, seated at the classic French curbside café, for Paris Perfume Week 2025 held at the Bastille Design Centre is a microcosm of French life.
Wonderful people, Neela Vermeire – Neela Vermeire Creations, Angelos Balamis – Angelos Creations Olfactives, Jonathan Dufour – Spiritum Paris, Kateryna Val’menko – KV Perfumes, Olga Petrouchenko, Thomas de Monaco – Thomas de Monaco Parfums, Spyros Drosopoulos – Baruti, Geraldine Archambault – Essential Parfums, Isabelle Larignon – Isabelle Larignon Parfums, Alexandre Makhloufi – Sacre Français, Sultan Pasha – Sultan Pasha Attars, Sebastien Jara and Yana Zhakhouskaya.
The mingling is intimate and conversations bounce off each other in elegant synchronicity, groups gather around the booths, ‘Bonjour, comment ca va’ resounds around the halls. Reconnecting with friends and embracing new ones, planning a dinner or lunch together, alongside all the perfumes and the array of enlightening talks one can participate in. I will share as much as I can of the perfumes that excited and intrigued me, a resume of the outside events that I managed to attend but also about people, the marvellous people that inhabit and create the perfumes we all marvel at, the ones that implore us to join with them on a voyage of great discovery.
Eshal Neela Vermeire, Les Destinations, Mandi Rhubi – Isabelle Larignon
Noteworthy perfumes from the fair itself; the spectacular tuberose, Eshal from Neela Vermiere Creations, by Bertrand Duchaufour, Narkissos, the intoxicating new release from Angelos Creations Olfactives (already purchased), Narcissus is all its narcotic ardor, a new discovery Les Destinations, a brand from Germany, the initial ones that caught my eye, Costa Rica – Voluptous, creamy coffee and La Reunion -all the beauty of that vanilla infused island. Isabelle Larignon welcomed me like a long-lost friend, Bangla Yasaman – a delight to discover, pearlescent Jasmin reveling in eroticism and the newest, Mandi Rhubi, exuberant and willful, it delights in abandon, splashing in dappled sunlight.
Paris Perfume Week 2025: Amouage Presentation – Decision and Existence
A partner for Paris Perfume Week 2025, Amouage took center stage, not only with conferences and workshops (more on this later), but also with the prelaunch of two new perfumes, frankly I found both extraordinary and carried mouillettes of both around with me constantly. Both using the Frankincense that is so intimately entwined with the Amouage legacy, both crafted by Quentin Bisch. Interesting for me, also as a former Winemaker that Amouage is utilizing oak barrels to macerate the ethanol used in the perfume production with very interesting results, this is an area we may explore further after discussions with Mark Tuka, Global Community Manager and Chief Creative Officer, Renaud Salmon. Amouage Decision – married with the intensity of Juniper and the force of resistance and Amouage Existence – beautifully enfolded Lily of the Valley in the expansion of light.
Highlighted Perfumes of Paris Perfume Week 2025: Atelier Materi previewed Vanilla Carbone – exceptional and unique take on Vanilla, here is it papery and dry, a perfume that really piqued my curiosity. I began an exploration of the brand Nissaba, Grande -Ile and Berbera stood out. I was excited to meet Perfumer Alexandre Makhloufi of Sacre Français, his new perfume Coeur Fauve – seductive excellence, a blooming in the stillness of night, under that other light that softens our edges. Velvet Iris – Essential Perfumes, Geraldine has released a fabulous Iris, true to its name, supremely elegant, it drifts sensually on skin. Anatole le Breton adds two new perfumes to the Artefacts Collection – Duende – something darkly crafted with chocolate and Rubaiyat – a rose, yet such a rose, deeply emotive. I was able to spend some quality time with Giovanna from Map of the Heart and to try the whole collection to date plus the new V9 Wonder, emotions flew and it certainly took me back to the way we saw the world as a child, truly one of those moments when we take stock. I also discovered a young vibrant brand, Judith Paris, great energy and a very dynamic founder Sarah-Lee Chlewicki, this is for further exploration. KV Kateryna Velmenko, Kateryna and I took our connection made in Milan further and I gave her all my impressions on the collection, A Little bit Hazelnutty by Antonio Alessandria and Laconic Less Is More by Elia Chiche, two initial connections for me. A first foray as well into Neydo, a new brand to me, ‘Mossland’ by Bertrand Duchaufour stood out.
Amouage Conferences Paris Perfume Week 2025
The conferences listed in the program were many and diverse, I was determined to attend as many as possible, Paris Perfume Week 2025 offered more time to explore these offerings. The Amouage conferences, moderated by Dominque Roques were quite a highlight, offering the chance to meet many of the people involved in what is not just highly successful perfume brand but a beacon of sustainability, protecting the raw material at source and honoring a culture. A first conference with Renaud Salmon, was ‘Oman Ingredients and History’, an essential foray into this fascinating country. The 2nd conference ‘Frankincense in Oman’, offered an overview of the project from source and introduced the ‘Wadi Dawkah Project’, conservation and regeneration at its best and culturally sensitive. Wonderful to meet Renaud Salmon, Thomas Andro, Matt Knight and Mark Tuka. There is even the opportunity to participate in this project by adopting a Frankincense tree within the conservation project and receiving in return some of the incense. A third talk was ‘Incense and Artistic Creation’ with Renaud Salmon and Clare Muller, Art Historia, a fascinating exploration of art history and the connection with Amouage and New York artist Gaetano Pesce who was integral in the design of the logo for the Wadi Dawkah project.

Paris Perfume Week 2025 Luzi AG, Chocolate Exhibition
An exhibition was mounted by Luzi AG based in Switzerland but with a global network, presenting a fascinating exhibition on perfumes created with chocolate created by their in-house perfumers, so delicious and with some intriguing combinations. Caramel and Lavender by Marc-Daniel Heimgartner, Exquisite Ganache by Paulo de Moraes and Currant and Gianduja by Daniela Marty were my favorites and could have been eaten outright.
Paris Perfume Week 2025: Ateliers with Marc-Antoine Corticchiato and Pierre Bénard Segu
I turn finally to the fascinating and noteworthy external ateliers and visits available during the week affiliated with the event. Ateliers with Marc-Antoine Corticchiato of Parfum d’Empire on Eroticism in Perfume led us through the myriad of raw materials that encompass the dirty, the fiscal and sweaty notes, the odors of bodily secretions and the addictive scents, the scents of spent passions and intriguing attractions. The other atelier was with Pierre Benard Segu, Perfumer-Creator Ozparfums Perfumer ‘Lilith’ – an exceptional soliflore of Tuberose, Professor of Perfumery and Olfactive Artistic Director of Osmoart – Parfums, Couleurs et Sons. The workshop was “An Olfactive Voyage” in Japan we discovered, through his travels many unique raw material extractions form Japan, a fascinating insight, curious and beautiful.
Paris Perfume Week 2025: Launch event of Immortelle Babylone – Le Jardin Retrouve and Thomas de Monaco – Flowers of the Future
I was invited to attend the soft launch of the new Le Jardin Retrouve perfume by dear Michel and Clara, this was an intimate event with the perfumer Maxence Moutte, a lovely evening with close colleagues and friends, they unveiled ‘Immortelle Babylone’ warm and solar with a luminosity that elevated mood, as usual created with care and attention to mood enhancement, it is also called ‘The Soul Healer ‘it is being released to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the brand, Maxence started with an original formula of Yuri Gutsatz and wove it into this beautiful expression. Available for pre-order now, a signed bottle by Maxence. Afterwards an extremely well-attended event of the usual suspects, introducing the new upcoming releases of Thomas de Monaco with the chance to meet the young talented perfumers. Flowers of the Future, imagined projected scents from a new Eden or reconstructed flowerscapes, Neo-Eden by Augustin Lemiere, Fleur Danger by Ugo Charron and Jade Amour by David Chieze.
Paris Perfume Week 2025: The Atelier of Cecile Zarokian and L’Entropiste Boutique
My visit to the creative hub of Cecile Zarokian was another highlight, time spent with Cecile in her atelier discussing past and future projects and gaining insights into her creative process, Warm and welcoming it was a rare opportunity. I continued to fit in as many boutique visits as possible around Paris, L’Entropsite by Bertrand Duchaufour, a must-see, wonderful boutique featuring the artwork of Bertrand and a collection that is eclectic, challenging perceptions, unique and vibrantly interesting, I was immersed for almost 2 hours. Dawn Whispers, Semence Douce and Dorian’s Spleen captured my attention.
The exceptional collection of Spoturno Paris
An invitation that will rest with me a long time from Paris Perfume Week 2025, Masterclass with Perfumer Christopher Sheldrake in the newly opened boutique in Galerie Vivienne of Spoturno Paris, a legacy reborn by the creative impulse of Francois Coty’s granddaughter, Veronique Spoturno-Coty, her family and Christopher, elegance and artistry pervade the whole experience, from the collection, Barbicaja and Spoturno 1921 in Extrait and L’Eau de Spoturno 1921 were mine at first impression.
Parfums Dusita Paris and Spiritum Jonathan Dufour
A visit to Parfums Dusita, just to revisit Tonka Latte and say hello to Mikael and the team, also a visit to Spiritum and Jonathan Dufour, a gorgeous boutique set in St Germain des Pres, I was welcomed by Jonathan and shown fabulous upcoming new projects, it was also an opportunity to discover his candles, Invocation, my preferred and to smell again the latest perfume, Tantrism.
A little glimpse into what is becoming a firm event in the Perfume calendar, I look forward to my next voyages, to Romania for the inaugural ArtNicheExpo in Easten Europe and to attend the first Grasse Perfume Week in July.
I am appreciative as always for the connection and friendships.
