Best Parfums de Marly fragrances for Father's day 2024

Parfums de Marly Haltane, Layton and Percival make great gifts for Father’s Day 2024 image by Steven

This year Father’s Day 2024 in the USA is Sunday, June 16th, which at the time of the post is less than 2 days away. If you are a last-minute shopper, you can’t go wrong with fragrances from Parfums de Marly, which not only smell great but are exquisitely wrapped and packaged. Steven and I chose  three fragrances from Parfums de Marly that  would suit most any dad this Father’s Day 2024 and as we did for Mother’s Day we are excited to co-curate  from the brand.–-Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

Father’s Day 2024: Your Dad is Bold with a Heart of Gold

Haltane by Parfums de Marly

Parfums de Marly Haltane via the brand

Until 2021, Parfums de Marly Haltane was a Harrods exclusive. Haltane is a potent fragrance that is both traditional and modern, contrasting the brightness of bergamot with the depth of leather and oud, the herbaceous quality of clary sage and lavender with a well-rounded praline accord which along with saffron are particularly prominent. The sillage is powerful and the scent lingers over 12 hours. For the dad who wants to make a statement. –Michelyn

Top: Bergamot, Lavender, Clary Sage; Heart Notes: Saffron, Cedarwood, Praline, Oudwood; Base Notes: Patchouli, Vetiver, Musk, Leather, Natural Agarwood

Parfums de Marly Layton Father's Day 2024

Parfums de Marly Layton via the brand

Father’s Day 2024: Your Dad is Charismatic and Charming

Parfums de Marly Layton (Hamid Merati-Kashani):  is a lively and upbeat composition that comes across extroverted. Its opening of apple and bergamot is bright and a tad sweet. Vanilla joins the sweetness in the base with a pairing of patchouli for longevity. Jasmine and lavender give Layton a floral and aromatic duality before guaiac wood sweeps in with its woodsy appeal. –Steven

Top Notes: Apple, Bergamot, Lavender, Heart Notes: Jasmine, Violet, Geranium, Base Notes: Vanilla, Pepper, Guaiac Wood, Patchouli

Father’s Day 2024: Gallant and Classy

Parfums de Marly Percival

Parfums de Marly Percival  via the brand

Parfums de Marly Percival (Hamid Merati-Kashani): A modern Fougère inspired fragrance that is fresh, opening bright and citrusy with zesty orange and bergamot, with just enough spiciness to keep it interesting. Percival is easy to wear and a great compliment-getter. Percival is what I would get my father, who like Percival of ancient Arthurian legend, is our family’s knight in shining armor. –Michelyn

Top Notes: Bergamot, Mandarin, Pink Pepper; Heart Notes: Lavender, Geranium, Cardamom;  Base Notes: Balsam fir, Woody spices, Tonka Bean

Love your videos, Steven. Thank you for discussing three of the most timeless fragrances from PDM. I love all three of these, but my favorite certainly is Haltane, and would be such a wonderful fit for my father who loves fragrances with leather and oud; and I love that this one has bergamot included to brighten it up a bit. My father is definitely bold and has a heart of gold most certainly!

  • Yo I lost my wallet yesterday 🙁 Maybe I’ll have some good karma for father’s day…. I would ask my daughter to get me Layton or the Exclusif version! Shout out to all the fathers!

  • Definitely would pick Haltane if I were to win. Michelyn mentioned that this is for the dad who wanted to make a statement, which I always welcome. Steven mentioned this being “dark” and also “beautiful”, with a tough exterior but also sweet. This definitely fits my personality.

  • Redo! Yo I lost my wallet yesterday Maybe I’ll have some good karma for father’s day…. I would ask my daughter to get me Layton or the Exclusif version! Shout out to all the fathers! I think Steven’s taste is similar to mine and had good picks for the masses. Thanks!

  • Ramses Perez says:

This is becoming a tradition now after the Mother’s Day giveaway and thanks to Fine Fragrance Distribution for the generous gift. Parfums De Marly is one of the most recognized niche brands and the choices are amazing. Layton is an iconic vanilla/almond creating, Percival is fresher and more fougere-like and Haltane is darker and deeper for the winter months. Percival I’d say is best for a younger dad, Layton for a dad at any age and Haltane is more for a bougie, more mature dad. Should I win, I’d go for Haltane. These are 3 strong choices and I’d say the bestsellers from the brand as well. I follow cafleurebonofficial in IG and my handle is Ramses.d.perez. Cheers from the USA.

  • Nice video and great reviews. I would have suggested the same three from PdM. It would be tough to choose one of the three, but I think Percival would be a good match.

I picked up PDM Kalan a few months ago and love it. I don’t understand the hate people give it. Haltane has been another one on my radar since seeing the notes and several reviews. Keep up the great work bro!!

  • AromaDulce73 says:

What a great Father’s Day gift!

I would choose Layton. Notes of apple, vanilla & patchouli is a great combination. This is a fragrance that I believe my dad would love. He went to be with the Lord several years ago.

The way Steven described Layton is definitely my dad. Sweet, light hearted & playful. I would totally wear this in his honor, he was a great dad and is sincerely missed.

  • “for the dad who wants to make a statement” – that could apply to several men in my life! I’d love to win Haltane. As always I appreciate Steven’s reviews for being so thorough and yet very to-the-point without a lot of padding… just the good stuff! I’m in the USA.

  • Kevin Kelly says:

As a lover of Tom Fords Oud wood an upgrade to haltane is exactly what I’m looking to get for my dad. The man of mystery deserves to smell like it

  • Garth G Wright says:

I am glad that one of the three PDM fragrances I own is on the list, Layton of course! I was a little bit surprised that Sedley is not on the list. It’s a beautiful fragrance but not the best performer in my opinion.

  • What I loved about Steven and Michelyn’s reviews was how they highlighted the unique qualities of each fragrance. Haltane’s bold mix of bergamot, lavender, and oudwood sounds perfect for making a statement. Layton’s blend of apple, bergamot, and vanilla seems lively and charming, great for an outgoing personality. But Percival, with its fresh, citrusy, and woody notes, really caught my attention as it seems perfect for the office and everyday wear. I’ve had Layton before and enjoyed it, so I’m excited to try Percival next. Thanks for the draw, from the USA.

  • Brad Woolslayer says:

I enjoyed how Michelyn explained how each of these fragrances fit different types of dads for Father’s Day. I enjoyed Steven’s thoughts as well. I would love to win a bottle of Percival, since I think it fits my dad vibe the best. I live in Maryland USA.

  • I have samples of each of these from PDM. Love and appreciate all. I agree that any of these would be perfect for a dad (I have 6 children!). Haltane was my favorite for colder weather and agree that it is potent with a great sillage. Layton is lively and upbeat and perfect for any occasion. My favorite is Percival! I’ve always wanted a bottle. It is fresh with just the right amount of spiciness.

  • LATONYA GIPSON-BOWMAN says:

Steven and Michelyn you both picked 3 great fragrances that would be awesome to win. Steven’s video and Michelyn’s article made me realize I would love to win Haltane and gift to a Father figure in my life. Thank you for the opportunity.

  • I’ve been getting my 81 year old dad into colognes. I would love to give him Layton as a Father’s Day gift

  • Stephen Adcock says:

I really want to dive into PDM but I live in Alaska and no one has them. Its an expensive blind buy for me. 🙁

  • Woah wow this is a huge giveaway!
Steve been a long time fan of yours, love the format of your videos and how clear you describe everything.
I own 2 bottles of Layton and still can’t get enough of it smells like apple pie and vanilla, crazy good performance, one of my best. I also have Sedley which is a summer gem .
I would personally go for the Percival in this giveaway due do how smooth and timeless it smells. And I love the DNA because I own the Montbanc Legend (but percival smells so much better and better quality).

And happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads out there!!!

  • jessica.rauch says:

I love the 3 different selections Steven and Michelyn made from Parfum de Marly. There is a fragrance for any dad to fit his personality- serious, extroverted or more traditional. My husband loves citrus so I would love Percival if I should win! Happy Father’s Day to all the dads!
    Insta @jess_rauch_nyc

  • What a great giveaway on these fantastic scents, only tried Haltane and Layton but from the notes on Percival it looks to be another stunner. Stevens review of it makes it sound as a great all rounder scent

  • lorenzothegoat1 says:

Man I just love these three fragrances and I appreciate the detail in the video Steven, if I had to choose one I would choose Layton because the first time I ever smelled it at Nordstrom it was amazing.

  • Jredlamar says:

I thought both Steven and Michelyn’s selections were pretty great after reading their descriptions of the fragrances and why they’d choose them for Father’s Day. Of the three, I don’t own any of the mentioned fragrances from Parfums de Marly, so having one of these would be AMAZING!!! If selected, I would love a bottle of Haltane! Happy Father’s Day to all the great dads out there!!

  • I would choose Haltane. I love the description of a hard exterior with a soft heart, because the fragrance is just that. It smells woody and aromatic with that soft praline heart that just smooths everything out into such a great scent. Layton is timeless and works for just about everything. Personally I like Greenley and Sedley more than Percival, which smells too youthful to me.

  • sherin thomas says:

Love these 3 offerings by PDM. Steven’s review is in alignment with these being summer beast. Love to have them in my collection. My father is no more but I love to dedicate this fragrance in his fond memory. Happy Fathers day Y’all !! From PA,USA

  • Both Steven and Michlyn gave thorough information about all the fragrances. Steven recommended choices based on the personality of your dad. That was a different touch. I would most desire the Haltane. I live in the USA

  • karapar12 says:

Steven and Michelyn are always on point with the fragrance descriptions, it’s almost like I’m smelling them hearing/reading them talk about the fragrances! All PDM offerings are pure quality but out of these three I have to go with Haltane, despite me not being a dad I want to make statements with it, sorry Michelyn haha! Such a mass appealing sweet oud in general, love it so much. Cheers from Connnecticut!

  • Arlo Bodden says:

Love the choices. Would love to get my hands on that Layton. Keep up the good work.

  • Brad Hurlburt says:

I couldn’t agree more with your selection! Layton has kryptonite in it and Ive seen it drive women crazy. Haltane is so distinctive, addictive warm and cozy. Percival is the one I would like to win for it would really round out my collection. I would have added a 4th selection. Habdan. Challenging I know but for the tough guy. My Insta is @countchocula64. Great video!

  • jlsteckley says:

Great write up and review. My original introduction to Haltane came after Steven’s very first Haltane video. I asked Big Beard Business if he’d smelled it yet and he didn’t own it yet but then purchased it and gave me a sample of it. That stuff is awesome and just as described in the video and this write up. A bottle of it however is missing in my collection so I’d get the Haltane if I’m chosen.

    From the USA

  • Froaderick says:

Great choices and descriptions! Haltane as the stoic, refined yet warm-hearted figure; Layton showing the light-hearted and playful side of fatherhood; and Percival as the “knight in shining armor” persona who doesn’t try to be a hero per se, but evokes that spirit by being a steadfast and present. As Steven mentions, Layton Exclusif tends to take a darker turn, a bit more Bruce Wayne than Ryan Reynolds (though it’s one of my faves from PDM!). Been eyeing Percival for some time for its versatility and “no brainer” nature, so that would be my choice should I be so lucky! Following on Insta as fresh_n_delicious. Cheers! 🙂

  • I alway watch your review Steven. A non- biased, and straight to the point comments regarding fragrance. As of the PDM reviews, Haltane is for versatile everyday use, Layton is for date night or going out, and Percival is for summer/work vibe. Regading Michelyn’s review for Haltane and Percival, I couldn’t agree more about her perception about those fragrances especially if its for your dad. If you want your dad to smell sensual and authoritative go for Haltane, or go Percival for an upbeat energizing scent. If I ever get a chance to win, I would pick Percival for my Dad because that’s what describes him the most the “ the Family Knight in shining armor with zesty and jovial energy. Im from California USA

  • Eric Franco says:

Hi there. Redolessence, love his work. Been following him for some time now. Thank you guys for hosting this giveaway. Awfully kind especially for Father’s Day. I would choose Percival if I was chosen. Thanks again guys!

  • FragranceIsMe says:

Steven and Michelyn, I always have an appreciation for your thoughts about fragrance. This article and video are no different. Each fragrance seems to align with your descriptions. I can see each of these fragrances representing my dad, with Percival edging the other two out, ever so slightly. Percival would be my choice should I be chosen to win this giveaway.

  • TomsFragrances50 says:

I loved how Steven best describes a father to parfums de Marly – Layton it was very well said. I would love to win a bottle of Layton and it would be an awesome father day gift since I’d just found out my wife is pregnant with our 5th child. 🙂

  • I am absolutely delighted by the expertly curated selection of Parfums de Marly for Father’s Day 2024 by Steven and Michelyn. Their choices of Haltane, Layton, and Percival truly capture the essence of what we admire in our fathers.

Haltane, with its captivating blend of bergamot, leather, and oud, is perfect for the bold dad with a heart of gold. The scent’s powerful sillage and longevity make it an exceptional choice for a father who loves to make a statement. Layton, featuring a lively mix of apple, bergamot, and vanilla, is ideal for the charismatic and charming dad. Its bright and slightly sweet composition, combined with floral and woody notes, perfectly matches an extroverted personality. Percival, with its modern fougère profile of citrus and spices, is tailored for the gallant and classy dad. This fragrance’s fresh and zesty opening, complemented by subtle spiciness, makes it a great compliment-getter and an easy-to-wear scent for any occasion.

Thank you, Steven and Michelyn, for this thoughtful and sophisticated curation. If I am fortunate enough to win, I would love to receive a 75 ml bottle of Haltane, reflecting my father’s bold and enduring spirit.

It’s always fun to hear about great fragrances for the Father’s Day season. I’d love to win a bottle of Haltane. I love that Steven finds it beautiful too and that Michelyn says it’s both traditional and modern. USA

  • I love PDM creations. You can’t go wrong with their offerings in particular here in the giveaway. All 3 are an excellent choice as a dad gift for father’s day. I tried all of them n Stephen’s video was well detailed on all of them. Hopefully I end up winning the giveaway.

  • Scent bear says:

Following on IG @simplicitea111 and redolessence subscriber too.
I’d go with Parfums de Marly Haltane based on the notes.Although I know my father would love all 3 but based on the notes profile and his overall bold personality I know this is the one.

  • I personally wear Percival, love the compliments for it being mass appealing citrusy, woodsy, and a lavender blast. Reflecting on my father, Steven’s words ring true: “someone with a tough exterior but kind-hearted and sweet underneath,” while Michelyn’s idea of being “traditional and modern” perfectly defines his personality. For him, Haltane would be an ideal choice.

I loved the breakdown of these fragrances by Michelyn and Steven. A great, versatile choice options for Father’s Day. Parfums De Marley have a wide range of beautiful scents. If I were to win one it would be Layton, I love the descriptors here and think it would suit the man in my life. I follow on IG @Eris.can.swatch.kaos and I live in Oregon

  • Thorough descriptions from Steven and I liked how Michelyn matched up the personality with the fragrances. I would go for Percival for my papi as well. Although Layton is a close contender. Thank you for the chance to win. I am in US.

  • Emilio Mancebo says:

I think Michelyn and Steven brought a well curated selection for different preferences. Haltane seems like a great fragrance, but out of all three, my favorite is Percival, sounds like a fine fougere to wear during the warmer seasons. Thanks

Steven and Michelin had a great review as always! I would love a bottle of Haltane! It’s one of my favorites!

  • calliope028 says:

Excellent choices, I would LOVE Haltane as Oud for Greatness is one of my favorite fragrances and PDM is one of my favorite houses. Thank you all for doing this and Happy Father’s Day to those whom it applies 🙂

  • ianbradleyandrews says:

Michelin talking about Layton’s woodsy appeal is intriguing. I love Steven’s reviews. He gives such a thorough explanation of all perfumes. I’d love to win Layton and live in Indiana.

  • Haltane! So glad it is no longer a Harrod’s exclusive and I know the perfect “tough on the outside, sweet on the inside” man to give it to. In maryland.

  • lorenzothegoat1 says:

Man I just love these three fragrances and I appreciate the detail in the video Steven, if I had to choose one I would choose Layton because the first time I ever smelled it at Nordstrom it was amazing. I know my family in Maryland will love it.

  • Thanks for the reviews. Those would be my top as well. I have love all three but already have Layton. Percival would be my pick if I were to win. Thanks for remembering all of the Dads! USA

  • Shon Campbell says:

Very excited to celebrate Father’s Day with my children, and hope all Father’s who celebrate have an amazing day as well!! I have been on the fence with percival, but after reading these articles, and the knight in shining armor comment, percival is going to be the pick

  • Raleigh,NC USA
my choice has to go to Parfums de Marly Percival
just love fresh versatile fragrances like they say in the reviews there is somthing about simple freshies that cant be contested so easy going

  • Ashley Willingham says:

I thought Michelyn’s reviews of both Haltane and Percival were great. I can picture the country club dad having a cigar in his fancy gentlemens’ room after a long day on the golf course, perhaps with the salt and pepper hair and sport’s car to match, however, for the dad in my life, I would have to go with Layton. The well dressed middle class every day all around cool guy…”charismatic and charming” just as Steven said, and also because I love the note of Guaiac wood, so that’s a plus for me!!!!

  • I would like Haltane. I feel like Percival and Layton are good fragrances but they are pretty well covered by the fragrance community. I have both and agree they’d be great for a Father’s Day gift. Since I’ve never smelled Haltane that is my choice for myself and to win. I’m usually drawn to the underdog.

  • Brett Marsh says:

Love the videos both on youtube and TiKTok! Haltane is without a doubt the best fathers day gift. A very manly and dark but also sweet oud due to the praline. Good luck everybody!!!

  • Starwind_08 says:

I’ve been a long time viewer of Steven and his Redolessence channel on YouTube. I’ve also been a long time wearer of PDM fragrances. I’m a father of two young kiddos and would love to win Haltane!

  • I appreciate how Steven and Michelyn not only beautifully talked about the fragrances themselves but made it a real guide for different kinds of dads and their personalities. I love all three of these and I’m sure my dad would too! I’d choose Layton for him if I won! Thanks for the opportunity.

In theory June 16th should be the international Father’s Day , but in Spain is celebrated on March 19, the same day as St. Joseph. The same applies in other European countries, such as Portugal and Italy. I’d like to say Happy Father’s Day to all who celebrate
Michelyn and Steven have chosen 3 versatile and more modern in my opinion fragrances from Parfums de Marly catalog.

“Haltane is a potent fragrance that is both traditional and modern, contrasting the brightness of bergamot with the depth of leather and oud, the herbaceous quality of clary sage and lavender with a well-rounded praline accord which along with saffron are particularly prominent.”

Each to his own of course, but Haltane i believe is way more modern than traditional , modern- classy is how I’d describe it. No “herbaceous quality” , lavender , or bergamot brightness are are available on me when sprayed on skin , maybe that’s why I think it’s a modern fragrance. The fragrance goes straight to leather, spices, oud , and moderate praline sweetness . The statement wearing Haltane is guaranteed for every dad
I never smelled Layton, only Layton Exclusif. I like the more fun apple and bergamot opening paired with patchouli and vanilla.
Percival I haven’t smelled either, modern fougere, zesty , spicy and easy to wear.
I’ll be happy to win Haltane
Oajan is my favorite Parfums de Marly, it’s full, balsamic sweet compliment getter.
    Overly exciting giveaway, USA

Happy Father’s Day fellow ceflo family. This is a wonderful opportunity to own something special. PDM is a special brand and has some serious staples for any aspiring connoisseur. I’ve own a decent of Pegasus and felt like it left me all too soon this past winter. I don’t hear as much praise for haltane but that oud is always intriguing. Thankful to take part in this giveaway and be a proud father myself. From Jacksonville, NC.

  • Thanks for the reviews Steven and Michelyn! Both went into great detail about what to look for in each of these fragrances. If I were to win the giveaway, I would definitely go with Layton. It’s such a versatile fragrance and would be my signature scent!

I was curious about these. Michelyn’s introduction made me go see the video. I was able to get an idea about how these 3 smell. My favorite is Layton with vanilla and apple. However, I would like to try Haltane because it’s different than what I have with bergamot lavender and oud-wood.

These sound lovely, and I think they’d make a great gift for Father’s Day! Haltane or Percival would be difficult to choose between, as they sound the most intriguing to me. I’d love the chance to make that choice! Commenting from the USA

Nice video steven! Layton and Haltane are two of my all time favorites! The oud of Haltane us better than OFG by Initio. And Layton is so unique in its own right. For some reason I’ve yet to get a bottle of either. I actually didn’t know percival was considered a fougere to be honest. That one is less my style. I’m in NJ USA @Rotary_Rage on Instagram.

  • Oh my! I loooooooove these descriptions and while it is hard to choose, I think the Haltane would be the one I’d love to try and/or gift to my husband. Steven’s video reviews are always good – it makes it hard to choose which one I’d want to try first. I’m in the USA and my Insta handle is @deeshla

Can I enter for sons that are fathers? Dad is gone. Percival FTW. This sounds like an easy-wear, colognetastic creation, perfect for young dads on the go. Citrus plus a dash of spice and the recommendation of Michelyn and Stephen – could it be better? I live in NY.

  • As always it’s a pleasure to listen to Steven’s informed and educated opinion of various scents and I just love his excitement about the giveaways! He mentioned it several times and every time I could feel the excitement. The written reviews are wonderful distillations of each scent presented and I particularly like that they are specific to each type of man they might suit. I would select Haltane were my name to be drawn.

  • I have enjoyed all of the Parfums de Marly perfumes I’ve tried. These include Percival and Layton, but not Haltane. I love the floral and woody notes of Layton and would be delighted to own a bottle. MD, USA.

  • Great video Steven and really like Michelin written descriptions. Parfums de Marly Haltane is my choice because my dad has a heart of gold. Praline, bergamot, leather and lavender and oud would smell terrific.
He’s kind of quiet so it would be good that his cologne made a statement.

  • After reading Michelyn’s written blurbs on two of the three I couldn’t pick one so I went to the video. I ruled out for me Layton as it was described as darker. For the draw I’ll choose Percival. US

  • I’m very interested in pdm house lately I love layton and the exclusive one so for and I’m excited to try more like haltane because I can’t find it in my country to smell it

  • I like how each fragrance is breakdown in here.
Haltane, mysterious but also always there, wearing the heart on its sleeves.
Layton, playful and probable PdM best seller. Sweet and warm.
Percival, a fresh take of the line. Fresh and citrusy. Now side bu side with Perseus.

As a father, and consider my personality, I think Haltane would suit me better.

Good luck, happy Father’s Day to all.

Happy Father’s Day all Fathers , future Fathers and Father figures on Cafleurebon .
As usual I’ll share my thoughts on the 3 Parfums de Marly fragrances chosen by Michelyn and Steven
Haltane , to my knowledge composed by Jordi Fernandez
No doubt complex , well composed , special occasions fragrance. I’m with Michelyn on this one , more of a classically structured woody aromatic, with slightly sweet undertones, with blast of lavender, sage and zesty bergamot in the opening.
The magic to me happens in the heart and base , when Haltane transforms into a gorgeous safran leather, cedar, resins and vetiver combination, with slightly sweet chocolaty patchouli lurking in the background.
Like Michelyn said sillage is quite powerful, and if that’s what you’re looking for you could easily make a statement wearing Haltane.
Steven surprised me a lot when he said it’s a all year round fragrance, to me at least Haltane is a strictly cold weather creation.
Layton composed by Hamid Merati-Kashani is indeed more extroverted, the green apple opening is tart and sweet. Jasmine is clean and together with the lavender is giving the fragrance some modern joyous celebrations kind of vibes.
Percival again composed by Hamid Merati-Kashani is 100% modern , I’d say even leaning young fougere. What surprised me is that neither Michelyn or Steven said anything about violet or cinnamon, I don’t see both in the official notes too. To there’s hefty dose of both violet and powdery non dessert kind of cinnamon in Percival, or it could be my own perception only.
My favorite Parfums de Marly fragrance is by far Habdan.
    Haltane would be great
    All profiles I already follow, I also follow @yvanjacqueline , @waltherp99bg

Personally I don’t need a special day to show love and appreciation to all the people i genuinely care about .In my opinion Valentine’s Day , Mother’s Day and Father’s Day are all a bit forced.
When I think Parfums de Marly , I always think Pegasus first , I was expecting to see it as Father’s Day recommendation but Michelyn and Steven picks are just as good.
My father likes Dior Eau Savage the original from the 60s-70s , Guerlain Vetiver , Dunhill Icon and Nishane Hacivat, my gifts to him , and I’m sure he’d enjoy Haltane the most. Classy , dress to impress bespoke suit type of fragrance. Praline-saffron-oud-lavender combination for those who want to look and smell good.
Layton is all ages, all seasons , all situations versatile fragrance that’s already considered a classic. Floral and aromatic duality yes + i think there’s cardamom in it too.
Percival i haven’t smelled, more fresh and fresh spicy fragrance suited for scorching hot weather.
    My pick would be Haltane
Thank you Michelyn, Steven, Fine Fragrances Distribution

  • PDM is an iconic brand for a reason and these 3 scents are among the best they have to offer. Haltane is my favorite of the 3. Like Michelyn said, its spicy depth lingers for hours on end. Steven spoke highly of its nature as a scent with a rough exterior, but a more tender interior. I think that description describes it pefectly. It’s robust and has character, but it’s also cozy and comforting. Needless to say, I would chose Haltane should I be selected. I follow on Instagram (thearronq). Best of luck to all. I live in NC, USA.

  • I think both videos were great. I’ve been a fan og Stephen’s videos for some time now and I love his high praise for haltane as I hope to get a bottle of it later this year. But a bottle now would be amazing.

I’m so lucky for having such a great, and supportive family in my life , love them all , male or female. Happy Father’s Day to all dads . By the way my dad likes woody , spicy and leathery fragrances.
    ☆ Haltane
To me Haltane is just ultra modern actually. Lavender is cozy , and not old-school super aggressive , and it mixes with the praline, saffron and the oud perfectly. To me it smells like Chocolate Praline and Saffron Crêpe Cake I do on private orders only , with a bit of oud. Like to Steven’s , there’s no leather to my nose too , it seems the saffron in Haltane smells leathery to Michelyn .
☆ Layton i haven’t smelled in a long time, I do remember the Granny Smith juicy apple, lively and upbeat composition according to Michelyn
☆ Percival I haven’t smelled at all, versatile fresh and approachable lavender fragrance
I’ll be happy to win Haltane
Appreciate Michelyn and Steven reviews , the 3 suggestions , and the giveaway campaign

  • Michelyn said it best. Haltane is pure beast mode. A quality blend of traditional (oud) and modern (praline & vanilla) accords that would work best for the guy that can own a room when they enter. Steven hasn’t guided me wrong so far on choosing the best perfumes. Still, I think I prefer Layton for being “dark” and versatile as Steven said.

  • Would love Percival. Knight in shining armor describes my husband. So picy, bright s d zesty sound amazing. Would love to sample this. April from Minnesota USA

  • Happy Father’s Day everyone! Wonderful profile of Parfums de Marly fragrances that would be a great gift for anyone. Concise written recommendations and I like how Steven paired each of these with a different type of person. Michelyn highlighted Percival, which would be the option I’d choose; a fresh, citrusy fougère sounds terrific, I love a good orange note, and the fougère form is a classic for a reason. “Shining armor” makes a great gift. And Steven pointed out how well Percival works even in a warm climate. Perfect gift.

I’m in the USA. I follow @cfleurebonofficil on Instagram as @mmerline. If I were to win, I’d choose Percival.

  • Completely agree with Michelyn, PdM for me seems to always have wearable fragrances which stand out in their quality and compositions. Great selections by both Steven and Michelyn as well as very informative reviews. Have had the opportunity to smell most of the fragrances presented through samples and really enjoyed them so far, especially since I enjoy citrus so much in my fragrances. If I were to win I would personally choose Percival.

I have Haltane and Layton and Steven is spot on in his reviews on those fragrances. For serious or buttoned up occasions I wear Haltane, when it’s laid back playtime I reach for Layton!! I can’t speak to Percival so that would be my choice of fragrance to get next!!

Another straight to the point but quick in depth review from Steven . Haltane would be a W win. Michelyn said it perfectly for the Dads looking to come through and stand out basically! Strong, Powerful, while still showing your soft side .

I grew up in a big family of fragrance lovers, and collectors , my dad alone has around 60 fragrances now
We all love Parfums de Marly, my favorites are Delina and Delina Exclusif, my mom is into Valaya and my dad is a massive fan of Byerley, I gifted him his 4th bottle yesterday.
Haltane i believe is spontaneous and unpredictable fragrance , with high levels of complexity woody, sweet and spicy. I don’t remember smelling leather like Michelyn but I only smelled it on blotter so…
Layton is really zesty and a bit sweet, o love the green apple the citruses and the lavender
Out of the 3 Parfums de Marly picks Percival seems to be easiest to wear fresh , a bit spicy all occasions compliment getter fragrance.
If I happen to be the winner I’d choose Haltane
    Thank you for the opportunity

  • I love Steven’s reviews about PdM. He seems to love them as much as I do! I’ve purchased Layton Exclusif for my boyfriend and I just love it on him. It’s a tough choice between these 3 scents but I think I’d go with Haltane because it’s the only one of the 3 I’ve yet to have an opportunity to test out. Plus, I bought Layton Exclusif in Harrods in 2019 so I’d love to have him own another PdM fragrance that had also been an exclusive to Harrods.

PdM, as much hate as the house gets from some just plainly has many good-smelling fragrances. I do have Layton and it’s a beautiful fragrance. As much as I enjoy the Haltane scent profile, I’d choose Percival if I were to win this giveaway. It is most unlike anything I have in my current collection. Thank you for continuing to highlight this house and the generosity of the giveaway. Many blessings from Virginia, USA!

I think my father would enjoy Percival because of the zesty orange and bergamot notes. Also, my father loves the Arthurian legends. I grew up listening to the soundtrack of “Camelot.”. I enjoyed theshort and sweet descriptions from both Michelyn and Steven.

Steven and Michelyn have made some great selections from Parfums de Marly.  I would agree with Steven that Percival is highly versatile and definitely the lightest of the three.  I can understand why Michelyn called Layton “extroverted”, it packs a punch with it’s projection and sillage.

  • Happy Father’s Day
Please all keep the old bonds characterized by deep affection, respect and healthy attachments in our hearts towards your fathers , and father figures in your life.
Speaking of the 3 co-curated great Parfums de Marly 2024 Father’s Day picks I have the pleasure of smelling all of them.
The bold with heart of gold ex Harrods exclusive Haltane is refined traditional weather fragrance. Like Steven said it’s a bit darker and definitely the most powerful and long lasting of the 3. The oud ,saffron and lavender are so well blended, the pralines are giving Haltane the modern feel.I also like the deep green color, and the contrast with the golden cap.Call me perfectionist, but bottle design, looks and the way it feels, are all important to me.
The charismatic Layton is for extroverted dads i agree, absolutely unisex by the way. The juicy and sweet green apple is delicious, the floral and aromatic duality is noticeable too.
Gallant Percival is fresh and spicy, perfect for day time family gatherings , going out with friends , or weddings.
Delina Exclusif and Oajan are my favorites from Parfums de Marly, both i own.
    Haltane would be awesome
    Thanks for the draw

  • Great list, definitely ticks a lot of boxes. I like that you tailored each of the three to a specific personality type. I would pick Haltane. Steven described this one as for someone with a tough exterior but sweet and kind hearted inside which I think fits that beautifully.

  • For around 14 years Parfums de Marly became one of the most cherished and well respected niche brands not just in US but all over the world. I like how Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief and Redolessence have chosen 3 different fragrances, with 3 different personalities from thrilling and daring Haltane, to Swiss knive Layton, to modern versatile and clean Percival.
The reason Layton is so popular is that it just works for all scenarios, all seasons , all weather conditions , true Swiss knive fragrance . Absolutely lively and upbeat with the signature green apple and lavender. For the charming dad .
Percival is easy to wear, fragrance with mass appeal ,clean and fresh for the gallant dad
My dad is the bold with heart of gold type of person, and the herbaceous quality, lavender, oud and leather Haltane is exactly what he’d enjoy.
    I’d choose Haltane
Thanks for the draw, from the USA
