Fig centered fragrances have been a category where I have come to really like many of the different riffs on using it successfully. From Olivia Giacobetti’s green fig in Diptyque Philosykos to Isabelle Doyen’s fig tree accord in Annick Goutal Ninfeo Mio. Now it is Martine Micallef’s turn for her M. Micallef line as she releases Sous Le Figuier (Under The Fig Tree).

Perhaps the most memorable was given by Brigit, the Van Cleef & Arpels SA, at Bergdorf-Goodman. Brigit took a different tack for her presentation of the new Van Cleef & Arpels masculine fragrance Midnight In Paris. Brigit just holding the beautiful cobalt blue bottle decorated with a constellation of stars told a tale of a couple walking the witching hour in Paris. At the end of her tale the couple ended in an embrace accentuated by the man’s leather jacket.

At the opening night cocktail party guests, industry leaders from around the world had the opportunity to enter to win one special 500ml bottle of 100 Flowers created by nose Carlos Benaim. The winner was announced at this morning session of the WWD CEO Summit. The fragrance was won by Sylvan Desjonqueres, President and chief executive officer of Redcats, a PPR company.
