New Perfume: Hiram Green Arbolé, Arbolé ~ “Ode to Federico García Lorca”

Egon Schiele - Autumn Tree

Egon Schiele Autumn Tree 1909

"When the afternoon had turned
dark brown, with scattered light,
a young man passed by, wearing
roses and myrtle of the moon.
'Come to Granada, muchacha.'
And the girl won't listen to him.
The girl with the pretty face
keeps on picking olives
with the grey arm of the wind
wrapped around her waist.
Tree, tree
dry and green"
–  excerpted from Arbolé, Arbolé by Federico García Lorca; translated from Spanish by William Logan

The inspiration for his fifth fragrance Arbolé, Arbolé takes its name and spirit of from one Spain’s most prominent writer and surrealist, Federico Garcia Lorca's poem of the same name. According to Twisted Lily, “Ostensibly simple, yet subtly complex, this is an unashamedly romantic fragrance for those who dare to dream. Arbole Arbole opens with a burst of earthy patchouli that slowly merges with dry cedar wood and velvety sandalwood. Vanilla and tonka bean anchor the fragrance and provide a sweet and powdery base".

Notes: Patchouli, Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Vanilla, Tonka Bean

  • This fragrance sounds wonderful. Simple yet subtly complex, sounds like a beautiful composition. Who doesn’t need a cache of romantic fragrances ?

  • OMG Hiram Green has a new perfume!!! And I like well done patchouli a lot. I’m trying to imagine what this smells like. I think I would like it .

  • I haven’t had the opportunity to smell any of the Hiram Green perfumes, because they still are not distributed in France ;-( – quite a shame, because I’m sure it’s better than many other niche brands !
And I need to smell Moon Bloom, Dilettante and this new one.
