"Is this the scent of anarchy?
Certainly, there’s a revolution in this bottle.
It’s in the fresh, restless bite of lemon,
sharpened and intensified by a defiant black pepper.
It’s in the unruly turbulence of a prune
and an in-your-face ambrette.
Electrified by aldehydes, you can feel the pure energy,
pared down and pumped up by leather, shot through
with heliotrope and brought back down to earth
by a raunchy patchouli.
To wear this scent, you must resist tradition, fight conformity,
and disregard aromatic conventions.
In the spirit of punk, you are willing to express yourself with abandon.
You take risks, and you wouldn’t be adverse to creating a little mayhem.
Sex Pistols, the perfume.

I received an email today from the 'enfant terrible of perfumery', Etienne de Swardt, the owner and founder of the never boring and always provactative L'Etat Libre Orange who I saw for the first time in two years at Henri Bendel for the launch of Like This by Tilda Swinton. (Read Mark Behnke's review https://cafleurebon.com//etat-libre-dor…mell-like-this/ )
He wrote, "I do not belong that much to coherence, I belong to CHAOS and marvelous superficiality!
Have you heard about our last chaotic Etat Libre d’Orange “distortion” to be launched this month , an avant première with Sephora Europe as of July 12th… “God Save the Queen Oblige!” Here comes "Sex Pistols'. A terrific 1970s punk patchouli twisted with pepper!
The inspiration was the song "God Save the Queen", written in 1977 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKpMqey0RcE&feature=relatedd .
Etienne, we are talking about my generation; I pierced my nose (by myself), dyed my hair pink and thought Sid Vicious understood me, because clearly my parents and friends did not. And I don't think they ever will. now when will it be in the USA?
Thanks for the reminder that we are still "flowers in the dustbin"
