Fans of the niche line Parfum d’Empire have waited patiently since 2009 for a new perfume. Marc-Antoine Corticchiato the owner and perfumer announced the debut of Azemour- Les Orangers
Azemour is the name of an ancient Moroccan city, sacred to both Islamic and Jewish religions, located near Casablanca. It was also a city of conquered and ruled by the Portuguese until in 1513 Azemour's governor Moulay Zayam refused to pay the tribute to the army. Manuel I. Ferdinand Magellan, the man famed for leading the first-ever circumnavigation of the earth, was among the Portuguese soldiers there and lost his horse in skirmishes outside the city. However, Portuguese control of the city lasted for a short period as it was abandoned by João III of Portugal in 1541 due to economic difficulties.

There’s another story as well, much morere tender. Azemour – Les Orangers is a love story linked to Marc-Antoine Corticchiato's memories of his birthplace of Morocco, where his parents owned an orange grove… bottled memories of his childhood. The fragrance opens with Orange zest and flesh, clementine, tangerine, grapefruit and sparkling citrus, followed by exotic spices indigenous to the region….. coriander, cumin, black and pink pepper. Other notes include neroli, geranium, rose and orange blossom absolute which are floral. Hay, oak moss and henna are the base notes.
Azemour-Les Orangers is an Eau de Parfum, and will be available in 50ml and 100ml.
Parfum d’Empire will also be launching four new candles:
If you’re a faithful reader of CaFleureBon, you must remember that I had a “coup de foudre” for a magnificent tuberose candle hiding in Marc-Antoine Corticchiato atelier… Tubereuse Corse finally exists! Both narcotic and flowery, it is just a masterpiece made of tuberose, orange blossom, amber, musk… and the rays of the Corsican sun.So your vote helped with launch.Merci, Marc-Antoine !
There will be a new Ambre Absolu version, more animalic than the one created in 2010.
Lys Casablanca: an opulent tribute to the oriental lily
Lantana Camara: named after the flowering shrub (of the verbena family) indigenous to the regions of the Americas and Africa rainforests . Aromas of the tropic and wetlands waft fruity, and glisten with orange, lime, grapefruit and fig notes.
