New Fragrance: Olympic Orchids Chevalier Vert (Ellen Covey) 2017

2x Art and Olfaction Award winning perfumer Dr. Ellen Covey has released a new fragrance Chevalier Vert  that was inspired by The Court of King Arthur's mysterious Green Knight  and the ancient legend of The Green Man, an enigmatic Celtic deity, (often associated with Beltane)  who was the consort to The May Queen.

"This rhubarb-themed scent started out as a bespoke perfume made for a customer who has been kind enough to give permission to release it into my line. It is inspired by the "Green Knight" of Arthurian legend; a sort of ambivalently magical chivalrous hero intermixed with an ancient Celtic god, the "Green Man". The scent contains the green, slightly melancholy notes of a spring garden – citrus, rhubarb, tomato leaf, armoise, violet leaf, violet, orris, and peony, as well as sichuan pepper and soft woods." Debuting today May 1, 2017

5ml – 30 ml $18- $65 and 1 ml sample $3

Best of luck to them with the new release.

I just had a piece of rhubarb custard pie for lunch. Anything rhubarb makes me think of spring, this sounds great!

This sounds so amazing. Will have to get a sample and try it while listening to The Green Man by Roy Harper for a complete cultural experience!

  • Ellen mentioned on her blog a while ago that she would be releasing a couple of new fragrances this year and I’ve been so curious since. Chevalier Vert sounds great! Rhubarb and tomato leaf will always have me intrigued.

Amazing! First time seeing such notes together. Being a bespoke perfume, so will give a try.
